honestly, my tip is just getting "Passive Friendship" and hanging out with someone
Now I have steady virtually infinite income to liesurely explore everything else, and I finished the Remixed Bundles before Winter!
i got passive friendship just for me to hangout with people in the saloon after 8pm
Is that the same as Part of the Community? 
Get the one that makes them get sick of the same gift after a couple of times
Otherwise every time I go to the Inn I want to befriend like five people as fast as possible by buying them beers.

i don't think PoTC has it, but Passive friendship increases friendship by 1 per every game 10m so it ain't too op like PoTC imo
and you gotta be close to the npc
Part of the Community is different, it's "Friendship for befriending other people"
Like the nicer you are to people the more everyone likes you
part of the community saves you so much time in the longrun with friendship

When I want to befriend people quickly I just use Mail Services Mod
That way I can send people gifts without going out of my way to find them a lot
So sometimes I just get in a giving mood and ship out like 30,000 gold worth of stuff to various villagers trying to think of a good gift for everyone
Or that one time I passed out like 40 prismatic stones because they never have enough damned magic rock candy
kinda wish it had a config for me to remove some features from it, like friendship from shipping

If you take the game at a super leisurely pace it lets you befriend people quite quickly and evenly
If you take the game quite seriously you'll hit 10 hearts with every single person in Year 1
things i'd change of PoTC if i knew how to:
You only gain points with people nearby if they're friends (like penny and maru), no extra friendship for completing bundles except for completing the community center, no extra friendship for visiting the shops, no friendship with other people if you gifted someone
like, it'd make it slightly less op cuz at that point all the progression you make on friendships is with people you actually talk to
i don't even take the game too seriously, just going to the saloon with empty energy already gets me with half the town on max
specially on fridays

I don't have the mod and at 10 at night I don't feel like downloading it and running SDV just to generate it
But that's the list of the options it should have in the mod config
You can set those to whatever value you want, with the defaults listed there
The weird namesl ike "UjamaaBonus" are explained in the mod description
There's no reason I can think of why you couldn't set one of those to 0.
Hell, you might even be able to set them negative and make shopkeepers get pissed off every time you come to bother them

Ye GMCM automatically works with Content Patcher (CP) configs, but for code mods, they have to take extra steps for their menu to show up in GMCM

Yeah, DGA does in general work, but there are some areas it's still buggy. If you'd like to submit a bug report you can open an issue on the github
For mega storage I'm not sure what the issue is
It could be an issue with mega storage rather than with DGA
What the fuck is happening?
I do think the icons in the craftables menu overlapping might actually be a DGA bug
For the icons, the issue as I understand it is that the icons are all assumed to be a certain size, but sometimes they aren't that size, so they are drawn overlapping
And also I have mega storage, but none of the things are obtainable!
CJB cheats does not incorporate DGA items at all
You can use dga_store if you want a similar cheat

Download the new one and it automatically uninstalls the old
The new one's install process should check for old copies and do cleanup
The new one installs just the same way as you installed SMAPI before (system-specific), if you need those instructions we can pull those up too

I have to be honest, if there is a strict time limit I am not sure I can help you resolve everything fast, there seems to be a lot of issues
The top priority is resolving the 2 copies of different mods
So I got an error with the magic chest that essentially wasted all the ingredients, but that didn't happen with the large chest.
Check your mods folder for 2 copies of any mods that say they have 2 copies in the SMAPI log

Here's a big hint as to what's wrong: You have two copies of New Object for SVE stored in these two places: Mods\Mods[JA] Stardew Valley Expanded, Mods\Mods\Stardew Valley Expanded[JA] Stardew Valley Expanded.
It looks like your SVE folder might all be duplicates of mods already in your Mods folder

You have a 2nd copy of your mods folder somehow inside your mods folder
Probably not exactly the same copy, but some are duplicated

I think the thing that's making your game loop could be the last error, which is something to do with Characters\MorrisTod not being loaded

I googled and apparently the Morris thing that's missing is from SVE
So somehow your game is trying to load extra Morris content from SVE and failing
Though that might be due to having two copies of SVE, since other people who report the same issue also have two copies of SVE

Windows has a maximum path length
If your Mods folder is stored somewhere too long already, having SVE and SVE's subfolders can apparently hit it?
Is there a way to prevent or work around
If you are putting SVE somewhere other than directly into the Mods folder, like arranging via subfolders, bring it out of the subfolder and into the main Mods folder

Also, if you really need, you can try to move SVE's subfolders out of its folder as well
I am not sure if there are any other fixes, I'm not super familiar with Windows
hmm, I have 33,357 files in my mods folder, that's a neat blurb
and yeah, path too long errors are issues with folder structure
more than about 220 characters and windows starts having a fit
usually caused by you extracting into a 'new' folder, rather than just extracting (as almost all mods that are correctly packaged are meant to just be extracted, you otherwise get giant folder names with version substrings)
Or not sheddiing the zip folder ... like if it was extracted into downloads then just the whole thing moved into mods
then you wind up with a long name from the zip trying to get incorporated into mods
I see that ranks are now indicated by little "doodads" by the name as well as by color... gee, I didn't know you cared, SDV discord!

@ember salmon did you download the 1.5.5 beta version of SVE by mistake? There's two options on the page and maybe you chose the wrong one? I'd switch to the 1.5.4 sve one rather than updating Stardew to the 1.5.5 beta.

I personally wouldnt recommend switching to beta anything unless I absolutely had to until its officially released. It's quite volatile atm.

I can’t see anything obvious but you could try updating SMAPI to 3.12.7 as it says. It’s possible because DGA is fairly new it’s not very backwards compatible?
How do I use mods from nexus mods? I'm mostly stuck on what mod managers are and after downloading the mods I wanted.

Also, mod managers are not required for modding Stardew Valley! Most people recommend manual downloading. The link Kedi posted gives a good starting point overall, though.
I’m still running 1.5.4 so i wouldn’t be able to run the beta
not exactly but you need to add SpaceCore and I suspect it might be Wear More Rings. Were you wearing modded rings at the time?
because if so, then Wear More Rigs is no longer loadig and that would cause the Object Reference Error.
I’ll see and idk necessarily about modded but I had the slime charmer ring without finishing the quest

Also, please people, if someone has accidentally installed a 1.5.5 version of a popular mod (Ie: SVE) please don't suggest they update to the beta! It'll potentially mess up everything else. And also, the SVE Beta version is at the top of the page, the 1.5.4 beneath it. It's FAR easier for them to download the other one than to update to a beta! @topaz matrix
If they're not making Smapi mods or suffering from OOM issues, I wouldn't recommend anyone switching to the beta for regular play just yet! Especially not new mod-players.
I don't think the slime charmer ring would do it, but did you delete anythig else? Basically, Object REference is potentially caused by something changing/being removed/not loading. Alas its very nonspecific.

it's not going to play nice with the version of the game you have & neitherr are the modified PPJA packs

Don't know if anyone has the Cooking Mod. But I hit both lvl 9 and 10 in one day. but at 10th lvl I only got a 3% buff and did not get to choose any profession. I also got no errors in SMAPI. is there any way to force a profession? would hate to uninstall the mod and start over since it took 2 years in game to reach tier 10.

only reason I don't use love of cooking is that it seems to add too much and the cooking skill mod has really good tier 5/10
tried it. .... Hmm. my guess is because I got two levels in one day, the mod didn't register that I was supposed to get a profession. so unless I can remove one level of the cooking skill then get it back I don't think there is a fix.

Would anyone recommend love of cooking? Is it game breaking? Make cooking complicated. Wonder if changing mods is worth it

and i definitely wouldn't call it game-breaking by any standards
I highly recommend it. It's well integrated into the game so it feels like it belongs.
Makes cooking more fun imo
It's also highly configurable so you can turn off the tool progression, among other things
basically the changes it makes, in summary:
- two or three new recipes per cooking level
- the number of ingredients you can use is limited by either the level of your house or the level of your pan, which can be upgraded like any other tool at clint's, and doesn't take inventory slots
- one profession branch increases the value of food, one allows you to add cooking oil or truffle oil to increase the star quality of your dishes
- you can use ingredients from your inventory to cook food at other people's stoves if you're friends with them
i'm not sure but i'd make a save backup just in case
The mod description is also pretty thorough and includes a sticky post with frequently asked questions, so you should read those as well

Does anyone else hear a "shiny" or "spawning" sound in-game? Anywhere (outside your farmhouse)? It spawns forage, so I assume it's FTM.. but I've never heard it before. And every time it happens, my screen lags a bit and I just don't appreciate forage spawning almost every 10 in-game minutes.

No, it's like a glamour sound? Like what you'd expect when something "shiny" or glamoury is happening. I just saw a normal Poppy spawn in front of my on my farm. I have no idea why it's happening. The only things I can think of that maybe could have an effect is.. the flower dance? and I went to Umuwi.
and when I check my log it states that FTM spawns forage, but not at the place where my farmer currently is and it happens like almost every 10 minutes.
I have like 969 mods now and no idea which one changed FTM's settings

For one, update the stuff at the top. Then see about removing multiple copies of Custom NPC fixes and Grandpa's Farm found in the Skipped Mods section.

SMAPI 3.12.7 is not the beta
It’s the version I’m running and I’m on 1.5.4
You might also need to update DGA, I’m not totally sure. DGA at some point was backported to 1.5.4, so if you have a version before that that could be bad
if theres no spawn sound i wonder whats causing it, because my first thought was itd be yagi’s mod causing it
Hey so I fixed everything and most things work my only problem is the fairy decoration it's not loading and the season grass like it will show that it has not been ignored but then when I am looking at my farm I'm not seeing the grass and stuff it worked perfectly well on my windows but not on my Mac

I'm not sure how you're setting things up, but I wonder if using Steamlink might be a better option than trying to use different mod loadouts for both your devices. Might be an option to consider if you keep having issues.

Custom Furniture mods just add new furniture instead of replacing vanilla furniture. Usually you have to buy the new items from the Furniture Catalog. Is that what you were wondering?

The first thing that came to mind was Spirit's Eve Hunt, which I think is the mod that can spawn monsters on your farm on Spirit's Eve. There's an elevator sound whenever they appear, but that's not the same thing you're talking about.

i think the latest version of PyTK and CF should work for 1.5.4. since the unofficial updated are for 1.5.5 i believe

yea CF works fine on 1.5.4 until you add another CF pack mid save and it just kinda...goes weird
i think cf must behave differently for different people or something, it seems to randomly be really buggy for only some people
CF will probably be replaced by AT or DGA I guess

Honestly from what I can tell, migrating furniture specifically to DGA is the long-term best solution. Unless you have a lamp, sconce, or window, DGA most likely has pretty much 100% furniture support.

My guess is that mod is looking for the JA version of the mod and you have the DGA version. They are not interchangeable

That said, the bachelorette mod is a portrait mod among other things

hehe no worries! But as you found out, some mods are still referencing the JA version of PPJA stuff rather than DGA. If you wanted to use those mods, then you need the JA version of PPJA stuff

I think the dialogue patcher for the girl mod may mess stuff up regarding pronouns but I think it universally changes all names to the female version ie Sebastian to Sabrina. Since in the comments on the dialogue mod people mentioned it changed their chickens and childrens names lol.

I'm very confused about what these warns are about
The warnings from JA? They mean there are modded recipes that reference items you don't have. Those items come from optional mod dependencies
They're harmless
Most are from PFM though
and MFM

If you want the optional components, yes. Otherwise no
BUT I do see you are also working with some JA and some DGA mods, I'm not sure if that's part of the issue
MFM got an update relatively recent to support DGA a little more
Right, but DGA is still new and still has some bugs. And as we discussed before, there are mods that depend on the JA version of PPJA stuff and not the DGA version
So the obvious plan is to go back to JA version of PPJA for now.... right?
Depends on your preference. You can use DGA aware that there will be some quirks for some time, and not everything has been migrated to DGA. Or you can stick to JA which isn't without quirks itself, but is more stable than DGA is now.
With regards to the optional components: you'll see that with the JA versions as well. Those warnings are harmless for JA versions too. If you want them to go away, you'll need to download all optional components, which may send you down a rabbithole
Luckily I've backed things up in case I need to reinstall the JA version of PPJA so its not a biggy

One of the warns refers to the Prismatic Bar, I know that is from the Prismatic Tools mod, I used to have that but I exchanged that for Radioactive Tools mod so I'm willing to ignore that one

You can use the in game setting as Say mentioned. I personally use Daily Screenshot which is highly configurable. I have a rule set to take weekly screenshots automatically and then a rule to take a screenshot on a hotkey

What does it do?
It's a building, so it just sits there I believe
You can fix it up as part of the story and get a shed
It even has its own mini-greenhouse on the second floor
Just keep progressing and eventually someone will come by to talk about it after you've cleared your way over to it
I know if you're using Immersive Farm, all you have to do is go inside of it ( So you have to clear out a way to get in ) to get the cutscenes where you can get it fixed up
Specifically, it's something a bit odd. I entered it then didn't get the scene for it for like a week the first time because:
You have to enter it, then walk onto your farm between like 8 AM and 4 PM or something
But since I usually did all my farm work in the morning and then left...
I don't use SVE so I have no idea. xD I just googled SVE farm buildings and saw the shed mentioned

No, apparently I as mistaken at first, it just shows up everywhere now once you install SVE.
I'm not sure how it would handle a particularly strange farm map.
But it seems to be at least compatible with all the vanilla ones.
Everfarm replaces the Four Corners map while IF2R and Grandpa's Farm replaces the Standard map

know it's late sorry if you figured it out already. When you have Robin repair the building it basically gives you both a second basement and greenhouse

Some mods require you to be the host for it to work properly

I don't see typed up schedule but you could look at raw data under [CP] folder/assets/schedules/scheduledata.json with notepad (just watch out for SVE compatibility changes)
the main reason changing the launch options doesnt end up working is not actually copying both quotes
(steam will default to not using the launch options if running them doesnt actually open an exe)

It even suggests in the top what you can do to fix issues, a whole bunch of outdated mods. Try that first
The mods that aren’t updated is because of the beta versions and the SVE treehouse I’m afraid to update because it was missing things in the file and someone here had to fix it and send me a new file and idk if the person who fixed it the 1st time is here to fix it again and i really don’t want to risk breaking the mod via update

I’m not too sure why your DGA is failing to load, but I think you should also at least update your SpaceCore and Content Patcher since it’s dependent on those two
Seems like you’re missing a content file in your TileSheets folder. Are you using xnb mods? Also I can see you’re missing dependencies for your MSVE mod, check the nexus mod page for what mods you’re missing
i seemed to have fixed it by verifying the integrity of my game files
but i still need to get beta in order to use the deepwoods mod
and yes i still need to install some dependencies for the msve mod
I found a post of someone with a similar problem, and updating SpaceCore fixed it for him. So hopefully it'll fix your issue too.
grab deepwoods version 1.9.6-beta, that one works on smapi 3.12.7
its only version 2.0.0-beta that's 3.13 smapi only

yeah, beta's a bit of a mess if you dont aggressively stop steam from updating, little updates to sdv, and then subsequent updates to smapi break things fairly regularly of late.

quick q, but if i were to reset content files would it wipe my mod folder or just the base game file?
it will only reset your base game files, basically making sure you have all the necessary stuff

Nope, you just need the Harvey one and it'll automatically overlap. Delete the harvey one in oho davis og file incase it doesn't work.

So, I'm trying to run Stardew Valley. For some reason, I'm getting a zip error saying something about a save backup. The file it's trying to look for doesn't exist in the game files. Does anyone know to fix this? (Speculations that it might be because of Steam Cloud?)

Hello, Im completely new to Modding Stardew. Want to play In Multiplayer. If I use the Generic Mod Config and host, and someone else joins with all the same mods, does their config get overwritten or do they have to seperately configure the mods themselves?
Verifying just disabled SMAPI....? It deleted a file and now it just runs vanilla Stardew.

I haven't experienced that myself. When last I verified it just ran normally afterwards
I just assume it might be a macOS thing because I only found one other post about this issue and it was from a macOS user.

I have that issue on Windows too. It stopped after a bit though.

Oh wait, just realized it was the "SaveBackup" mod that causes that issue...well im dumb 
That is something smapi installs
well i forgot that it existed .-.
SaveBackup creates the Backed_Up_Saves folder. If it's not there, create it yourself
