Still can't get Custom Furniture to work completely. Some days it saves properly, others, it doesn't (in multiplayer). Does it not work in multiplayer? Or is there another documented issue?

even if the game doesn't crash, SMAPI still generates a log, so you can still get your log

Custom Furniture seems to be glitchy at the best of times, so you could check the mod page comments / bugs to see if there's one mentioning what you're experiencing

You have a lot of mods that didn't load, in the Skipped mods section, first block of red text. It begins because you need to update SMAPI. Update SMAPI and then get a new log

yes, I checked the page and there are more people with the same error, it looks like they're going to discontinue CP-A, which will make the item animation mods die
MachineCheck threw an error for multiplayer... Cute Valley is missing a file... two content packs are competing for the houses...
I'm really not seeing anything that should suggest anything to do with placing buildings.

DGA can handle animating content, actually.
So CPA is being mothballed in favor of DGA as I understand it.
But I can install the mods that use CP-A without any problems or do I need to wait for them to update to be compatible with DGA

You might try uninstalling MachineCheck or Cute Valley - Pink and seeing if that fixes it?

It's just "Mods" wherever your game is installed. If you have SDV from Steam, you can right click it and select Properties, then go to "Local Files" and hit "Browse" to jump straight to that folder if you don't know where it is.

I think Chromebook runs Android basically, so you'll have to use an older version of everything.

You could try to edit the map in Tiled or similar programs and remove the texture? (if there isn't any other update)
I can't remember if there was an unofficial update to that one, did you check the mod comments?

The compat list isn't going to help you for that, Agentfire10. That was for mossie
If you run into similar (simple) issues there is a mod I use called Map Editor. You do have to be careful, since the edits are persistent... by that I mean if you close your game & open it again, the changes will still be there.
I use it quite a bit to change this & that on my game maps
Quicker and less complicated than dragging out Tiled with all its issues

Definitely should be considerate, but sometimes spoilers are helpful to modding discussions and are unavoidable, so it would put an unnecessary burden on modders trying to have discussions related to their mods if they had to tiptoe around, which is why it isn't a rule in these channels

Hmm... yeah it looks like DGA added some recipes (although I can't tell if it's from Mega Storage or something else). Can you see if the command dga_store brings up the items alright?
They wouldn't in item spawner since it hasn't been updated to support Dynamic Game Assets yet

I moved my Steam installation out of Program Files x86 to avoid permissions issues

If SMAPI can't read/write to the Stardew Valley folder, you'll have problems running mods even
If you right-click on the Stardew Valley folder, hit Properties, and go on Security tab, what does it show as permissions for Users?

So i'm having issues with SVE Grandpa's Farm, debris is placed incorrectly and the shipping bin, player cabin, and greenhouse are all misplaced and out of bounds.

looking through the monster of a text file
looks like EVERY item from ppja mega pack is creating a 2-4 line error each
If you're using JA, there's probably a duplicate somewhere that's causing everything blow up

If you were using the beta version of the game, you'd know it. You have to take extra steps to install it. Simple Crop Labels works, not sure about Crop Labels. You can check the compatibility list below

Vortex can occasionally just cause issues for reasons we can't explain, like eating manifest.json files
yeah, vortex does cause problems every now and then
i use it to keep track of stuff though, because i wouldn't be able to otherwise

As I mentioned, Simple Crop Labels does. Lookup Anything gives you all kinds of extra information on the hotkey

On my old laptop, with 408 mods, it took 3.5min to get to the loading screen, then 50sec to load the save, so almost 4min 20sec total.
Today on my new laptop with 477 mods, it took 1min 45sec to get to the loading screen, then 36sec to load the save, so 2min 21sec total. My new laptop is higher end than the old one, and on an SSD lol

I have this historical data (AKA a thing you said last year):
with 1,048 mods, 2min and 37sec to get to the loading screen, then 2min 13sec to load the save, so 4min 51sec total
You have options. If you want to keep them in the mega pack folder, just delete the old one from the mega pack folder and install the new individual one in there
otherwise, delete the one in the mega pack folder and install the individual new ones in the Mods folder

Yes, you'll need to delete the Large mayonnaisse folder from 1 of the 2 mods to make them work together
Because you're on android, you need older versions of mods that work with the older version of SMAPI you have

You just need the older versions of the files. On nexus, in the files tab, you can scroll down to see the older files. You can sort them by date uploaded
But for all those mods you have those red errors for, you need older versions
some of those not compatible with smapi 3. is 3.12.6 ok
or is anything 3+ a bust 😦

Haaave you heard of One Day at a Time? It closes the game for you after you save, so you have to reload. Originally intended for taking breaks, but since OOMs are more likely to happen if you play multiple days, it helps for that too hehe

Guys, for those who play with a lot of mod like me, it would be better to wait for all mods to update to the new beta 1.5.5 right? Because most of the mods I use are not yet compatible with the new beta. It's no use playing in the "old" version

Items or clothing, recommended, yes, because json shuffles can happen otherwise. Anything that changes the main maps or your farm, recommended, yes, because debris and crops can be in weird spots that you'll have to use even more mods to fix

Lite.
Plus adds new features, Lite is the loader for new chests.
It's not an "either or" thing necessarily, if you want new content (storage mods) and the fancy features (search bars and such) you just install both

A lot of people have brought it up, the author was basically going to split them into two mods, but decided to keep them on one page for ease of access for people who used the previous combined version
But then made a really unfortunate naming choice...
Having them as separate mods makes perfect sense! The "Adds more features to chests" mod can and should be separate from the "Allows you to add additional storage items" mod
But Lite and Plus are awful awful names.

It really was since people were expecting all the functionality of Expanded Storage to be on one page, but the lite version was intended to be the minimum content pack loader for compatibility, and plus is more likely to conflict with other mods

That's fair, and while I prefer XSPlus chest modifications myself, I absolutely 100% applaud the decision to do that
I just think that based on all the comments I've seen most end users are just lost. Overwhelmingly I see people thinking that + is both of them together

In fact, I'd be happy to deprecate XSLite if something like DGA could be used to add custom storages to the game

That would also be cool. It does seem like it would fit more into a broader framework like that for adding kinds of things to the game.

It seems to be only the SVE file that is causing trouble because when I remove it, my game loads with other small mods. Is it me, is it my weak computer? It probably is taking forever, I get spinning ball of death sometimes when I load. You could try giving it time to resolve

If that mod is broken I highly recommend the industrial furniture set. All the assets are so cute.
and when it comes to the CP version, I will try that but when I googled the mod I did see a Reddit thread from a little while ago (still post 1.5 update)and that person stated that the mod didn’t work for them in either version. So it could be broken

Really depends on what kind of mods you have, but a lot of people have 100+, 700+ mods and be fine
Some of the seasonal outfits can cause some lag due to changing things frequently

I have 200, 80 of which is content packs, and about 5 min loading time. But I have no SVE or Ridgeside or any of sort. Content Patcher Animation mods, frequent Content Patcher updating, big expansions can lag the game significantly
Some CP animation mods are more okay than others, I have the weapons one and I tried with/without and no big lag
The fish one made me dizzy so I removed it

Nope only admins can pin stuff. But you can certainly bookmark pages or look at it in the quote of quotes

also i think the activate sprinklers mod and sprinkler mod mess each other up somehow

They're not messing each other up. The point of activate sprinklers is so you can manually toggle them, in addition to them working automatically.

It's intended for like if you planted a bunch of stuff around a sprinkler and didn't want to water it manually, you can just activate the sprinkler.

You can change the config if you want. The sprinklers will always work automatically. The mod just gives you the option of using them manually.
im conflicted about getting easier special orders to remove the resource collection because that could mean my resources dry up quickly lol
well, after a while, spawning items into the game gets to be too easy... it takes the fun out of it, yet I keep both the item spawner & the cheats in my lineup always... I just couldn;t do without the handy warps, really.
If you have add on areas also, you wind up spending a lot of time just running around over the same trails...

You probably need to install the .NET 5.0 framework
Free downloads for building and running .NET apps on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Runtimes, SDKs, and developer packs for .NET Framework, .NET Core, and ASP.NET.
There's nothing special to installing mods... it's exactly like it is with the non-beta version, they just go in the Mods folder
You do need the cross-platform .NET 5.0 framework because that's what everything is built on now though
If you're installing it you'll want to grab the ".NET Runtime" from that page.

Install it and use CJB Item Spawner, Customize Anywhere, or SMAPI commands to add the skirts to yourself I think.

It's hardly a guaranteed answer, but it's the only thing that comes to mind. Reinstalling mods which are misbehaving, or updating them if they have a newer update
Could even be something totally weird like one mod misbehaving in a way that doesn't cause problems for itself but break something else
But Adopt & Skin there is breaking on the "GameLoop.UpdateTicked" event, and hundreds of times in a row, so it's almost certainly what's causing your ridiculous lag
The Walkthrough Trellis event only seems to generate an error when you warp to another map.

CJB's Cheats Menu. The keybind to actually open the menu that is listed on the Nexus page does not open it.
And I don't have any way to change it because there is no config file in the mod files.
I have both it and SMAPI installed, so there is no reason it shouldn't be working.

you could try the newer one but for me it caused some weird issues

i would suggest testing it out with a secondary save if your crafting screen formats properly
i got this issue when i had the DGA version installed
which is apparently an issue with DGA
Vortex is not recommended what so ever as it often eats files, installs them incorrectly, and just generally causes mods not to actually load
especially since with smapi, installing mods is as easy as modding can be imo

Ok, I downloaded SMAPI and about to install it. I've tried this before, but after the Install part, I got lost (I'm on Steam)
I need help. I installed the Ridgeside Village mod and this came up

It's going to be hard for me to tell what the issue is, because instead of reporting on the line of code that caused the error (something along the lines of "line 132" or something) it is saying <0x12c88b240 + 0x00593> in <filename unknown>:0, which I have not seen a log do before 
(anyone currently here maybe happen to know why that may happen?)

@sacred marten In the meantime, if you would like to keep using A&S, the issue appears to be with the name tags, so I would turn that off in the Config and it should work fine while the issue is tracked down.
Given that the part of the code that's throwing the error is actually a very basic vanilla function asking for the list of all known NPCs and animals, it may be a weird mod conflict with another mod that you have, but I can't be certain of that. Unfortunately the lack of line numbers makes finding the issue rather difficult.

When SMAPI finishes installing it will give green text afterwords, which you'll need to copy (you can ask it to reinstall and it will show it to you again).
In your Steam library, right click on Stardew Valley > click Properties > at the bottom of the window where it says Launch Options, paste in that stuff and you're good to go!
Nope, that window is SMAPI, no way to close it down.

I'm not sure how to copy that line of text. I try to highlight it, then right click (which is how I normally copy/paste) but every time I right click the line of text just gets unhighlighted rather than giving me the option to copy. I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong here. 🙂

Not sure if you're getting the same issue I've been getting (I'm running 1.5.4), but for me it seems to be that Stardew seems to.. not think it's being focused on? Like when you switch to another window and everything pauses, but you're still looking at the window so it appears as if everything froze. Not sure why but it's been doing that for me.
I honestly blamed it on Windows but it could in fact be Stardew
It comes back the second I click on the screen somewhere, but it's strange
and annoying

you know, the regular (first one) farm has a big pond in the middle of it, but the only thing you can fish out of it is trash

Yeah it won’t really work properly
You can either keep playing the save with SVE or create a new one without it
SVE has an installation guide. I think it covers an uninstall process but you may still have issues on that save

its risky, but if you do still wanna go through with it:
- BACKUP YOUR SAVE!! then you can launch it to remove ALL items related to SVE from your chests/fridges etc etc. this includes everything from fish to forage to wine.
- install Reset Terrain Features (you can find the unofficial update on https://smapi.io/mods)
- remove SVE, launch your game. SMAPI is gonna put out warnings like "Removed invalid villager [InsertName]" thats just smapi handling it so it doesnt crash your game.
- sleep to save, go outside and check if anything needs RTF to be used on.
theres still a chance things will be broken but you can always give it a shot as long as you keep a backup

I have 130 mods and of those exactly one is currently not capable of working with the Beta. That's Love of Cooking, and it's because blueberry is updating the mod to remove the broken CC stuff as well as overhauling it in other ways.
Like, consider Pathos' breakdown of mods in the last month on September 1st. If Content Patcher is updated, there's not any particular reason a given CP mod wouldn't work

If you know how, you can run the SMAPI batch file from the command prompt, and see what error it's returning. Since it's automatically closing at the end, it might be saying something to you about why it doesn't work, but it's closing too fast to see.

I'm having a problem in the 64bit beta version where my game screen (the playable part) will flash white & blink off for a quick sec... I can then see the descktop with the consosle screen before the playable screen blinks back on. this all happens pretty quickly, but it is highly noticable.
when the console screen is visible, it is NOT scrolling any red, like a major conflict is happening, so I am at a loss if there is anything I can do to fix this

it doesn't so much minimize as just disappear... just at odd times, seemingly unrelated to what I am doing (other than sleeping or remaining completely still)

I have the walk to the desert mod, it throws that error and the game is loading indefinitely when I go straight ahead instead of making a left to the desert map
its a broken warp issue with DTZ i believe
DTZ updated their map names while WttDR havent yet on their end
theres a fix for it if youre willing to go in and fix it yourself until WttDR updated
search for ‘DTZ’ in the WTTDR CP content.json file, and then comment out every reference OR change it so it is the new map (Custom_DTZ_ZuzuFreeway1) or something like that. just add a ‘1’ to the end to the name - from the creator of DTZ

I've been getting these errors a lot and so far I haven't had problems with saving/playing/shutting down the game. So I'm assuming you can ignore them for now.
The DGA errors is something I have no idea about though.
I'll never understand the raging hate-on some people have for vanilla SDV colors. The cabin looks nice, but I can't help but think so many people shoot for this modded aesthetic that looks like someone put a 20% opacity layer of solid white over everything.
That's a reshade mod that I just started using. I'm not a huge fan of it either, but it's growing on me. The cabin itself has only been slightly modified to not be so junky, as the one in-game.
Yeah, like I said the cabin looks good. That ReShade is so popular though, I swear I see every third screenshot using it these days, and it looks so weird to me.
It has a few places where it seems alright, but in most cases it just seems like somebody turned up the brightness and turned down the saturation. Everything is less colorful, more white. No more warm earthy tones or green grasses, it's like the scene is being lit by the sun from two directions at once so there's no shadows.
Even looking at it makes me feel like I should put on sunscreen to play.

That's fair, but everyone has their own tastes. After playing the game for so long with the vanilla colors, it's kinda refreshing to see a new look.
Oh, I don't disagree. I'm not saying it doesn't make sense to switch it up, I'm just incessantly bitching that I dislike that one particular one and don't get why it's popular.

Obviously recoloring the whole world manually is a lot more of a pain in the butt, but a ReShade filter just feels clumsy to me.
You can use the reshade on top of a recolor mod. I can’t think or the recolor mod I’m currently using, but I like it. I agree, summer does look a bit bright and faded, but spring looks really good in my opinion, it has a calm pastel feel. I’ve only seen spring and summer with this setup, but I’m sure fall and winter also looks interesting.

It's likely you may have accidentally downloaded the latest Beta version of a mod, instead of the current version. Best wild guesses at the moment are that the 1.5.5 beta won't become the official edition for a couple months yet.

I think you may be interested in Expanded Storage. It's a framework mod for chests and it has a pack for only editing the vanilla chests (as opposed to adding new ones).
You could modify that pack for your own use so that it only affects junimo chests.
You could also make your own pack for it for junimo chests only

Way late, but like LenneDalben said, just get eXpanded Storage Plus, which adds the additional chests features, then the Vanilla Expanded Storage pack. By default it doesn't actually do anything but it should make all the chests configurable in your In-Game Mod Config Menu setup or in the Config.json files, so you can change how many slots each chest has.
with Gwen's Medival Buildings you have the choice for "clean" or "flowers" for practically everything in the mod, as well as various other choices... check it out
Hey my friend's mods just aren't working? She's installed UI info suite, Starblue valley, and Seasonal Japanese buildings, but nothing's happened. They're all up to date and she has both SMAPI and Content Patcher installed, does anyone know what happened?
Hmm... that could be nice. I actually don't mind the aesthetic so long as it's clean. It looks like a deliberate effort but still a clean modern building. I just don't like how a lot of "Medieval" looks are basically "Looks like somebody forgot about it for a century"
