When you install Smapi, copy the command prompt it gives you, including the quotes. Then paste it into Steam's launch settings under Stardew. The one on the wiki is incorrect
you can also launch directly through the SMAPI exe, straight from the game folder, if you want

and it's already named with the adopt n skin filename system!

open the nexus numbers folder. inside it there is the actual mega storage mod folder. that is what goes in your mods folder.
you turned Mega Storage-4089-3-1-0-1630988914.zip into a regular folder instead of taking out the [XS] MegaStorage folder - the actual mod - from inside it
i also use 7zip and don't get those extremely long folder names
i open the zip and drag the contents out, or use the Extract Here option, depending on how many zips i'm dealing with
extract here does the short path, extract to (zip name) the long one
So I just put this in my mods folder, and when I buy a chicken it will randomly pick one of the chickens like usual?
Use extract here, not extract to -folder-
put it in the Adopt n Skin Assets folder
I've never had any issue with how I extracted it, it works just fine
Most mods are contained neatly in their own folder within the zip, so you don't have to extract it to the folder

With Adopt and Skin you'd have to buy one of the regular chickens, and then it'll randomize one of the skins or you can set it yourself 
there's a cap on how long the filepath can be due to OS limitations

What is the issue?
For some players on macOS, the game freezes when launching if certain mods are installed. It's somehow tied to the version, so exactly the same build with a different version number will toggle between freezing and working.

I get bugs all the time, I follow previous mod versions, good SMAPI versions, but there is something wrong all the time.
I searched the discord but didn't know anyone was asking for.
SVE in particular is so big and resource intensive that it just...doesn't really work on mobile
if you've got a really high spec tablet device, the SVE for 1.4 stardew might work?
The phone memory and the power of the hardware are not the limits.

Hello! I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help. It doesn't say there is any error with the mods in the log. It just stops loading after "cavedrips music" and the game never ends up opening. I own a mac and have tried redownloading stardew, smapi and mono. I have also tried reviewing the content files on Steam. If anyone could provide on reccomendations on what I could do, i would greatly appreciate it. The logs is below
Is Custom Music one of those that has a different version available for the game beta, 1.5.5? If so, you'd want to make sure you have the version for game version 1.5.4 since that's what you have.
I'd confirm that with all the framework mods you have, too (Content Patcher, Json Assets, Farm Type Manager, Quest Framework, Shop Tile Framework, and TMXL).
Also, do you have all of the Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE) components? It looks like you might not have the code component since it's not listed in your log, but I donāt use it so idk if they got rid of that component. SVE also has a different version available for the beta (1.5.5) so you want to make sure you have the version for game version 1.5.4

Is there a way to check which update the nexus mod uses? I am having difficulty locating it for some of the mods.
If you're on the mod page, the Files view lists the different files available. Those often have descriptions that specify what version of the game they're for
If not, the mod description itself might mention it
I do see that for some of them like Spacecore which specifies that it is 1.5+ compatible but some just don't mention anything (not in the mod description or file).
I'm using nexus mods if that helps.
Then it's probably safe to assume they're for 1.5.4. The biggest thing is for the ones that do have a 1.5.5 version available, don't use that version and instead use the version for 1.5.4

that's probably not a good location, better to extract the zip somewhere in your home folder (it just contains the installer files that you then execute and afterwards you can delete the extracted files)

Ok, everything is fixed. I have working version for android with Stardew Valley Expanded š
not quite, but there's a mod that gives you sunburn on sunny days
and one that cuts your health if you didn't light a fire in your fireplace the night before and it was a cold night, that may be closest
Weather Illnesses used to do that, but it seems like it's not working at the moment since it relies on Climates of Ferngill, which hasn't been fully updated (only some functions are working). UV Index, the sunburn mod Morgrim mentioned, likewise appears to be broken in 1.5, but you might like Remember Your Umbrella, which adds a wetness/dryness system where your stamina will start slowly draining if you're outside in the rain without one of the mod-added umbrellas
Working Fireplace appears to still be fine though

smapi keeps crashing because of insufficient memory which causes me to lose progress on entire days because the game will get stuck on saving on an endless loop
and i heard that moving to 64bit might fix it cause it could just be an issue with a lot of mods since i have over 100 installed

It just seems like you're missing a tilesheet 
I might be wrong but I think it could be solved if you just shoved daisyniko's tilesheets on the maps folder of the aquarium mod!

It depends really. If its like new crops you gotta make sure not to have stuff in ur inventory and chests but most of the time the mod page will have a uninstall guide, and usually its just make sure theres no residue then delete the file. But some might be more complicated

SMAPI itself gives you links to every folder tha needs updating

follow each link to nexus and go to download the new file
then, you'll unzip the file, go to your mod folder and find the old folder and delete
then put the new file on top
(make sure to do this instead of replacing/overwritting)

You want to follow the link at the bottom, download the new version of SVE and unzip it- Then go to your mods folder, delete the SVE folder in there and paste the new one you just download on top!
Make sure to not download ANY of the beta versions of the mod
the download page on nexus shows you several files, you always want the latest file that doesn't say beta

The config file for any mod is generated after running the game with the mod installed at least once
from there you can tweak it, but changes won't be applied until the next time you load the game

You open the config.json file in any text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, on Mac TextEditor works) and then set the settings based on the options

Does anyone have a way for mac users to unpack and pack XNB files? I'm getting tired of this one mod for Krobus not successfully changing his sprite, so I was going to override the base game file with the sprite I want.

it's Elven Krobus. I got a CP version of the mod, and I have the standardize Krobus installed as well since it's dependent. Profile, events, etc all changed to the elven one, all but his sprite.

So is your issue that the standardize Krobus is overwriting the sprite changes from Elven Krobus? If so, you could set a dependency so that Elven Krobus depends on standardize Krobus, and Elven Krobus then wins the change

You can test temporarily removing the standardize Krobus mod and see if the Elven Krobus sprites load
If they don't, something else is causing the conflict

- CP Elven Krobus 1.1.0 because it requires mods which aren't installed (minervamaga.StandardizedKrobus).
so that's why Elven Krobus isn't loading
yeah, normally I have it installed. I took it out to test to see if it would load.

SpaceCore isn't loading properly for starters. Also another issue later that could come up is that you have grandpa's farm and Immersive farm 2 both installed.
youre using spacecore 1.6.0 which is for the stardew beta
you should be using spacecore 1.5.11

It doesn't look like anything is touching bundle data itself, so it's not the actual bundles that are getting broken, just the items they depend on
(If it was the bundles getting edited, you'd see a trace log saying [Something] edited Data\Bundles)

Yeah could be, if the game is failing to generate the bundles, it could crash the whole new game stuff including that option
Roe is in Data\ObjectInformation which it looks like Json Assets is the only thing editing that
so if i remove json and it's associated mods, maybe my problem will disappear?
Maybe test that out, start a new game without JA at all and see if it stops happening or not

Hi I have just started with using the UI info mod, when i load into a newer farm it works fine. but if i load into an older farm the settings are unaccessable is there a reason for this?
the ui info suite on nexus was last updated before 1.5 gave you separate zoom options for the UI and the game world. Now you have to have both zoom settings at the same % for the buttons and overlays to line up properly.
I don't think that or the few other inconsistencies are ever going to get fixed. You could get https://github.com/Annosz/UIInfoSuite2/releases instead

I migrated to the 64-bit beta because of memory errors, and might have gone a little mod-happy. I'm sitting at ~300 mods, and everything is working fine, except I have this annoying frame stuttering. I'm still maxing fps according to the counter, but it's giving me motion sickness. Is there an easy way to look at which mods are using the most resources or something like that?
