the linux version has bad tearing problems even on linux. i hadn't heard about windowed mode possibly fixing it, i'll have to try that

they didnt say anything, no. but a friend of theirs mentioned that yellog has a strict no distribution rule on their mods so you're unlikely to find them anywhere unless they put them back up

Save Backup is failing when it tries to create the save backup for some reason. That shouldn't have any effect on the game though, it just means the extra save backup won't be created.

there's basically 4 steps. Download depot, wait. run installer from github (on depot folder). run nonbeta smapi (on depot folder). point steam launch options to depot folder. win.

the depot download can take upwards of 10-15 minutes
it was a different mod, something like maybe UI Info Suite, thought both data layers and automate have grids that you can activate too
after that, you need to run the s64 installer from github, not smapi
always had it without any kind of mod until the latest update of expanded
automate's grid is toggled by the U key by default
bun you need to tell it where the folder is
because it doesnt properly check for what the number in the depot name is
when you run that installer, it should give you an initial prompt (I had to run it again to remember :p heh) 'I dont have a copy of linux version' or 'I'm good to go' you need to pick 2 and then it will ask for the full folder path
yeah all of that ends up working fine, I've done the stuff with S64, and now I'm trying to do SMAPI but when I paste the game directory it still tells me it can't find the SDV executable, I might just have to start again entirely

Yeah - I had started doing it that way since the wiki redirected me there and then I looked into it further and learned that a lot of mods won't work with that, so I think that's why I got my wires crossed on the different SMAPI versions
(the beta is for stardew 1.5.5, which is 64 bit by default, which is why the unoffical isnt suported anymore)

Anyone using the beta version of SDV and SMAPI and having trouble with regular mods?
it's best to downgrade to the non-beta versions for those and any mods, many are broken with the beta
not really, just trashing the items and spawning new ones. avoiding it is the only way as far as i know, i.e. not installing new JA mods on an existing save (and apparently multiplayer is having some issues with it regardless)
or updating existing JA mods in case they add, remove, or otherwise modify the items

Does anyone know why my energy won't go up when I eat? The green plus comes up but the bar doesn't move
the mods i think could be affecting it besides the portrait mod i added are romanceable rasmodius and DSV, but i set wizard to "off" in DSV and "custom" in romanceable, but im still getting vanilla portraits i think

Something is up with UI Info Suite 2. Everytime the game moves on to the next day, it doesn't save the settings that I had set for the mod. It just resets it. There is no errors in SMAPI though

I am a farmhand in a co-op multiplayer game. We keep having problems with our game crashing. It just happened again. I have both of our logs but we donāt understand how to read the logs or identify the problem to fix it. Does anyone have any idea based on these two links to our logs why our game crashed? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The second one shows that the game ran out of memory and had a fit about it.
In the first, it looks like the FTM and Custom NPC Fixes errors both stem from the original error in SpaceCore about a null object.

OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. It's worth noting the Stardew update that will drop sometime this fall (er, by November at the latest for those with other seasons) is to make it 64bit, so the alternative patch mentioned in there will become obsolete. This is mentioned in the wiki link too

Yeah, my issue was that I have a lot of mods, and many of them are enormous.
playing more than 3-4 days on a heavily modded save in 32 bit..basically does not work anymore

I twice lost an entire day of play because the game slowed to basically a full lockup and I had to force close.
one other thing you can try, is siliencing out some of the big custom music stuff, since loading hundreds of megabytes of music into memory spends alot of your available wiggle room
Oh okay so I bet you that is the issue. We do have a lot of big content mods. That stinks that thereās not enough memory to withstand them. Thank you so much for explaining this to me
you could try running these (note, this replaces the content.json in the [CM] folder of those 2 mods, be ready to redownload or back them up first
(note, this totally disables custom music for said mods) or rather, places 1 second of silence nonlooping in place of it's music
but it will save you much load time and some overhead memory while running by doing so, if you dont mind losing out on the music
those would help to decrease the amount of memory that those big content mods use?

There is something to be said for not replacing some of Alissa's stuff in rsv, since that's somewhat intrinsic to her character, so you may not want to do that if you intend to go down her plot line
I thought I was removing the music? Am I replacing things from Alissa too ? Sorry I get confused so easily. Lol
yes and no, you cant flat 'remove' the music, because then it throws errors, what this does is have it play 1 second silent wavs instead of music. Alissa's story has some music associated with it that's fairly important, so replacing that is probably not ideal

I removed the replacements, yes, do note that using either will mean reinstalling sve/rsv if you want to go back, as it's hard replacements, may want to backup those mods before doing so unless you want to reinstall/redownload

I donāt know if you would happen to have heard of this issue but itās a separate issue that weāre having where our spouses end up frozen on the path into town when you leave the farm right at the entrance of the path/unstop screen they get frozen there and theyāre there until it saves the next morning. It doesnāt happen every time but it happens enough that itās super annoying itās mostly my spouse but it does sometimes happen to my friend who is the hostās spouse and it doesnāt matter what spouse, what season or what farm layout. Because we have played it in all different scenarios and my spouse always freezes on the path. Itās not every time they go to that screen sometimes they make it and sometimes they freeze. @naive drum I hate to ping you, Wing, but have you noticed any audio crackling with 64-bit? The sound that plays when dialogue is printing is staticky, but everything else seems fine.
I haven't really noticed audio crackling; however I know a few other people have noticed minor audio glitches like that, and also, i usually have other music on

no idea about that one, not familiar with mp at all, or married npcs really, best guess would be to maybe try immersive spouses (or remove it if you have it) main thing I can think of that would effect that (other than multiple spouses, I spose)

that happens commonly with the linux version on linux for me too. i put a command to restart the system audio system before launching the game to the game launcher actually, because doing it always fixes it
putting the folder inside the mod folder should be enough (it should ask to overwrite some things, if it doesnt you didnt put it in the right place)
Unfortunately I'm on Windows so don't think I can do the same. Oh well. I'll just click through dialogue and/or get used to it. x3

you can disable/enable your sound in device manager, have to be careful nothing is currently using it though

it generally doesnt like having its sound output source disappearing out from under it
Anyone know how to get Vortex working with linux Stardew Valley on a windows system? The problem is that Vortex looks for Stardew Valley.exe but if you make a Stardew Valley.exe, mods like PyTK still look at Stardew Valley.exe rather than StardewValley.exe(the proper linux executable). If u edit the linux executable, SMAPI fails to find Stardew Valley. I tried making a Stardew Valley.exe symlink but PyTK just read the symlink instead.

Me again. Lol Iāll give you a link to my smapi log. Itās saying that it contains files but none of them are manifest.json. Weāre able to play the game but thereās music and I donāt think it is using the new CM files. There arenāt any instructions in the zip folders, it just has the CM file in the zip folders. We deleted the CM folder that was there and replaced it with the new ones. This is a link to my log. Is there something that weāre missing? Sorry to bother you. yeah, you werent supposed to delete anything, only overwrite some files from the new folder
you will probably need to reinstall rsv (and sve if you did similar)

Iām confused on what you mean when you said if we did similar? All that we did was open the zip folder for SVE & RSV and each had a folder in it labeled CM so we replaced the CM folder in those two mods that was the only thing we did
I meant if you similarly deleted the sve [cm] folder you would need to reinstall it, the folder I provided was intended to go on top of what is already there (replacing some files), not completely replace

Just drag the folders that Kyrinia gave you to your RSV and SVE folders, and it should tell you that there are X files with the same name and ask if you want to overwrite.

Uh, why did Smapi freak the hell out? Not the thing with a forest map or the player warping, but the thing at the very bottom. It started spamming errors after the day saved ( Multiplayer farm, I'm a farm hand ) when it was trying to load the next day up. Host didn't get any errors

I think it's more than that, given that it only starts saying that after things started breaking with Way Back. The day saved too, it was only when it started to load in the new day that it started spamming with Way Back errors

Oh, I've had that one happen before. It didn't affect the game then, and it still let me play and save this time
it mostly depends on how far out of memory you are at a given moment, if you're 'right' on the edge you might limp along a bit
I just don't have the mist affect when that happens, which I honestly don't mind, hate the mists
you could try the files I posted earlier, will give you a bit more wiggle room, but that's definately a memory error

yeah, its definately not optimized, sort of par for the course being it's almost magic voodoo making linux code run on windows :p. I would definately try silencing out those music files, see if that helps much

it means that if you install champagne wishes, which adds champagne, you'll get bonus content

Note that some of the aesthetic mods and JA packs have minor edits made to remove clashes. Also note that a lot of it isn't compatible with SVE

@weary hill If you're referring to being unable to play the Stardew Expanded and Stardew Expanded with Immersive Farm 2 modpacks on MD, then I figured out the problem. The mods auto updated to versions that required the SMAPI 1.13 beta launcher, which is why there was a bunch of error with mods being able to load when launching the mod pack. I couldn't find a way to manually downgrade or a folder where the moddrop files were kept so I could manually change the files to their older versions so I just made the modpack myself

now i have a answer - ModDrop probably isn't updated for the new game version, which is a major change in how both Stardew Valley and SMAPI work under the hood. I suggest installing SMAPI manually for now (just download and run its installer), then you can install mods through ModDrop like usual.
60 mods is a miniscule amount and can 100% be manually managed. if you dont want errors, dont use mod launchers like moddrop or vortex.
I don't know how to do it manually but I'll try it now.

If you're using the 3.13 Smapi, don't, it's not made for anyone to be using apart from modders, so most mods won't work for it. If you aren't, you might be using the SVE version meant for the beta 3.13, which won't work in 3.12 ( I assume anyways )
im not using the beta and my smapi gave the message to update so i did. its been faulty all day as well. throwing errors that dont actually exist. my mods are working all except for 5 that say DLL wont load

@faint temple You got an OutOfMemoryException, which is a separate issue: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#OutOfMemoryException_errors_.28Windows_only.29. Looking into those two failed mods though.
i have 59 gigs left. they work fine on .2 thats where im having the issue so i might just have to suffer thru it i guess.
The game can only use about 2.5-3GB, even if you have more memory available. (See that page for more info.)
You can ignore the update alert, that's just because you have a prerelease version of SMAPI.

CJB Cheats Menu has an option to run faster though.
@cosmic arch through CJB cheats menu, ik you can up your player speed. however as far as i know there is no actual autorun

I've noticed Vortex randomly deletes game files sometimes. Resetting your game files (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Reset_your_content_files) should fix that.

SMAPI should only show update alerts for prerelease mod versions if...
- you're using a beta version of SMAPI;
- or you're using an older prerelease version of the mod;
- or you're using an older non-prerelease version of the mod, but it failed to load.
yeah, I'm using the beta, and it wasnt recommending updates until today, or didnt seem to
down to 140 errors, yay.
Yeah, there's been a few changes to the update alert algorithm lately to account for the beta.
(The next SMAPI beta should improve mod compatibility a lot, but that'll be tomorrow at this point.)

That's not really unusual. There are companies which host Minecraft servers, MediaWiki wikis, etc for a profit. They're not selling the game itself, just a custom service around it.
@round shore Yep. The way Always On Server works is that the host player is always online, and the mod will automate it (e.g. pause when all players are offline, go to bed when all players are in bed, etc).
(The game is really not designed for server use, so there's no headless server currently.)

after way more googling than i should have had to do, i found what shanes acceptance dialogue is in vanilla... which doesnt match what i got. I dont think i have any mods that change dialogue though???? Unless maybe DSV does that? Or somehow romanceable rasmodius, theft of the winter star, or the gender neutrality mod. Literally the only mods on my list i can think of that would change dialogue at all????

i personally got most of the cheating mods when i first got into it
oh yeah my basics i always need, besides like, retextures because i can no longer deal with yellow dirt, are the cheat mods, speed increase, automate, and all the UI info ones so like, datalayers and what are you missing, and i think a couple others. Some of them are writing on top of eachother and i cant be bothered to figure out where/how to move the text boxes woops
