anybody know why my jukebox throws a fit everytime I step near it? It basically makes a ticking noise and the "random" bit freezes on the screen and I can't click out of it (thankfully I can debug warp out of it)
Got a weird question. I've been working on getting the 64-bit unofficial version to work. It was fine for the first half of my mod list, but then it threw some errors when I loaded up the rest of them (looks like a bunch of cursor errors).

I just went ahead to try and load it up again, and this time it seems to have worked with no errors. Any ideas what might have caused it, or should I just ignore it and be thankful it's working now?

So, I tried to start a new game, since it loaded up to the main menu with no issues, but then I ran into some new ones.

It took 15 minutes, but the game did eventually start, however I was missing a wide variety of icons and sprites.

And I changed nothing between runs.
Iirc CP had a bug causing these errors for 64 bit?

json shuffle really messed up my current save

what does json shuffle do
shuffles the items IDs. Like, if originally bluefish was ID8 and snozeberries were ID9, but you've now added a new mod that uses JsonAssets, then suddenly bluefish might be ID9. All the recipes that are supposed to use snozeberries now need bluefish and you end up with bluefish jam.
this is often very funny, but breaks mods
in particular, if a food item and a clothing item get swapped, things can crash quite hard
Honestly not sure, ive been having a few issues and im just trying to clear out all the shuffled items
ahhh that doesnt sound fun
the standard solution is to sell/trash everything in the mods, save, play a day and save, reinstall all the mods, and optionally cheat your items back into your inventory.

there's a SDV update that will be dropping soonish (we don't know when). Some of the mods with heavy coding will be affected, so the beta versions are all testing with the SDV beta.

Hmmm, am i missing something? I switched over to the 64 bit version yesterday night through steam. I've spent like an hour trying to clear out the json shuffle, and yet again i've been hit with the out of memory error. Do you load the 64 bit version the same way as 32?

Hewwo! I've been playing a modded single player game for a while but me n my boyfriend are wanting to play multiplayer vanilla, does anyone know how I'd go about this? Do I have to delete the mods n reinstall them again?
You have several options:
- You can launch the game directly by launching the StardewValley.exe rather than from Steam/SMAPI. You won't get achievements this way though
- You can remove the Steam launch options and then launch from Steam, but you have to remember to put back the launch options to play modded. This way you'll still get achievements.
- You can create a modgroup with an empty Mods folder, and launch with that empty modgroup (can call it
Mods (multiplayer, empty hehe), as an example). That way, you can still launch from Steam without changing launch options. More details on those below. This way you'll also still get achievements.

I am currently in the process of troubleshooting a mod related bug I encountered but its taking a long time so I thought in the meantime I'd ask if anyone ever encountered something similar (doubt it but theres a chance): Selection Arrows and other Buttons in the "Construct Farm Buildings" Menu at Robin's Shop are unclickable.

Me and a friend already checked the Log and couldn't find anything so we are just going trough the Mod list one by one checking every single one. I was just hoping that maybe somebody ever encountered the same bug giving us a pointer which we could use to narrow it down because there are zero in the smapi log.

Hi! I have problem. I play Expanded mod, i have chickens, ducks and cow.. And i dont know what happened but now my cows and chickens dont have products. They looks like little thin. Its Fall, all have full barn/coop with hay, and Grass outside. Whats going on?
I don't use Android unfortunately, so I can't help much. For most mods you can see https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Android#How_do_I_use_mods_that_need_Stardew_Valley_1.5.3F for help finding older versions, but BFAV has been unofficially updated for quite a while which complicates things. You could try https://community.playstarbound.com/threads/updating-mods-for-stardew-valley-1-4.156000/page-46#post-3356278, which seems to be the last unofficial update before Stardew Valley 1.5 released.

Hello all, I'm having a problem and I'm not sure where to start to fix it! I have looked through every troubleshooting guide I can find and no one seems to have had this issue/voiced it.
I am currently using ~61 mods, big ones being SVE and the multiple spouses mod. For some reason since using mods my in game weapons' have been acting weird. They wont show me how powerful they are, and I was ignoring that for the most part. But now, when I got to the forge I can't power up my sword and I am more concerned now 
Any tips or solutions that you know of? Most of my other mods are things like wear more rings, walk faster, a few re-skinned animal ones. I'm not sure if I should be taking out mods one by one till I figure it out or what! (also just a heads up I have no red messages in SMAPI, everything is up to date as well, pic is included for reference )
this happened to me but with one duck only, i ended up selling it and getting new animals and they produced again

But do you have the instant buildings thing enabled? When you upgrade a coop / barn with it enabled and animals in it, it basically skips a day for the animals, so they'll be hungry and angry. But the option isn't enabled by default

Looks like it needs part of .NET Framework that's not available on Android, so it might just not be Android-compatible unfortunately.

Hard to be sure, but I'd assume easier since we can bundle .NET assemblies into the game folder more easily in .NET 5+.

I figured out my mod problem with smapi, just run stardew from the folder, not steam
So I obvi cant go to the forge and check but it is still not displaying any weapon stats
guess its time for the old fashioned take every mod out and add them back in one by one time

Hey i could use some help, my game seem to have gone corrupt over a few hours. It worked earlier today, i turned the game off and left home for a few hours, got back and booted it up today again. My save is still there, all the money, playtime, relationships and name is the same. Once i boot it up its like my world reset. The house is still upgraded one time but undecorated. When i leave my house its literally like the first day of the game aside from Marnie standing outside asking me to adopt that cat. (Coincidence that a test save that I keep for testing mods starts exactly like that once i boot that one up?)

If you copy the exact code that Smapi's installer gives you when you install it, and put it in the proper place inside Steam's properties for Stardew, then it'll load with achievements on
But if you don't and load it just through Smapi itself, then they're disabled

hey all, im trying to edit the config for better panning so it will recognize the custom farm map im using, but the stuff i have to add includes more formatting than im sure i can do correctly (like how many spaces or tabs go before things?) Can i either get someone to doublecheck i did it right or let me know what i did wrong? I havent tried to use this config file yet, trying to pre-empt any problems

normally when a config wants me to add in stuff its stuff that can just go within brackets on the same line, but i think its not supposed to be like that here?

hi! i'm using mods and i seem to be having a problem with smapi that i cant figure out. Is this the channel to ask for help with mod related issues or does that go in the game support channel as well?

i'm on mac. ive reinstalled mono, restarted the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled smapi.
i have not tried singiling out mods because the error seems to be with smapi itself unless i am mistaken

Are you using any XNB mods?
I would suggest moving your mods to another folder and adding them back in groups of 10 until you identify the problem mod

try reinstalling microsoft XNA framework and then if that doesnt work, try launching vanilla sdv to refresh the xna framework install
if youre using steam, then check the integrity of your files to get rid of it

I'm having a hard time with Coii's hat pack. I am not seeing much info on how to use/get the hats. Anyone else figure out something im so blindly not seeing?
coii's hat pack is a json assets pack, so they'd be available to purchase at hat mouse or, if you have get glam/customize anywhere, will be present in the menu of accessories you can equip
Does it take time for them to compile at the hat mouse? I only have about 4 options when I visit the mouse.

OH you have it as a cp pack, no wonder
so those hats override the default hats in game, pretty sure. you're gonna want to uninstall that one and then get the JA version

if i have two mods that change the same texture, iirc its the one that alphabetically is later that gets shown by the game, right? (context: i am trying to have some of the rarecrows from the ghibli recolor and some from gwen's medieval craftables, and gwens lets you disable individual rarecrow recolors, so i wanna make sure gwen's is overrriding ghibli)
no -- if two things are overriding the same thing, then neither will show
in the case of dialogue, THEN it overwrites/gets shown by the game
damn, so no ghibli rarecrows for me then (or i guess all of them and none of gwen's)
unless you edit the cp thing to make it individual loading for ghibli
last time i was playing i had literally overwritten some of gwen's textures with some of my own, but since then the mod updated and all the individual objects arent individual anymore, its tilesheets, which is much harder for me to feel safe editing 😔
i mean if gwen's only replaces certain scarecrows given the config options, then loading it after ghibli should work?
by "my own" i mean "the ghibli ones but cut out of their tilesheets and named so that gwens changing them with the seasons just has the same one 4 times"

that sounds correct to me (the loading order might not be so sure, but adding a manifest dependency should work if the alphabetical method doesn't)

but just to test and see if it is—i’d rec making a side folder called “uninstalled mods” or “modddds” or literally whatever you want and moving your mods there temporarily!
just make the folder on your desktop and drag and drop your mods in. then open stardew like normal

its a thing for mod authors making NPCs that dont have every vanilla NPC feature
it is something optional
e.g the ridgeside village mod uses it to add chickens that wander around, but which don't need to be greeted for the introductions quest, don't show up on your social menu, can't be winter star giftees or gifters, etc

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

question regarding the life cycle rival heart events mod
Whenever i enter the appdata command it keeps saying how do i want to open the file. It doesnt direct me to a folder or something
if a pair- using Maru and Harvey as an example- are marked as dating RN do they eventually move into marriage and having kids and a family on their OWN or do i have to change their relationship to married/family, and check the have kids box myself?

No, this fix is for SMAPI not launching the game at all, and stalling in the terminal after the first few lines

feraltale, an explanation of that command targeted at you: the command looks for the system's general installation of MonoGame, which is more fully-featured than the version Stardew Valley bundles with itself. it takes one file from it, and copies it into the Stardew Valley folder. this file apparently tells MonoGame how to handle a few more formats of things like TMX files.
Stardew Valley uses the MonoGame that's in Stardew Valley's own folder, so copying that MonoGame file over to also be in Stardew Valley's folder means that Stardew Valley's copy of MonoGame now has the ability to handle all the TMX formats!
including the one that this one file was saved in.
so it should work!

ok so the Anathaeri mod says i can edit the TMX files if i want to move an NPC into the house- but i don't have any programs that can open a TMX file... so even though things r working fine now i guess the NPC's won't be moving into the houses because i would have to manually edit that in the TMX files, which i m unable to do as any apps that CAN open the file cost $$ that i don't have
but it IS compatible with that Ridgeside village mod- whatever that is... would have to download a RSV compatible version instead of what i currently got ugh things get so complicated when mods get involved LOL
