thats because the frameworks need to be updated for it. you shouldnt be using 1.5.5 beta or smapi 3.13.0 right now as a user.

First, download Even More Recipes and Entoarox Framework, then delete one of NPC Map Locations and update your SMAPI to 3.12.2

Hi! My friend experiences some problems when trying to load up stardew with SMAPI, she just wanted to add some little CP mods to make the game more interesting for her, yet she got this error. I suppose it has something to do with graphics card and she has an old pc, but is there a way around it? Thanks in advance

the august 17th update of SVE for android? if we use/play SDV on our computers we don't need to get that update do we, just the immersive farms one NOT the SVE one for android?
Because having a mac computer i don't think it'll make a difference for me personally if i don't download it at least i HOPE it wouldn't.
Also can i have BOTH the immersive farm 2 AND the Grandpa's farm downloaded, or do i gotta choose which to use as they both replace the standard farm and having both downloaded might cause issues?
They both replace the standard farm and neither will work if you have both installed at once. It's pretty easy to switch out though per save file, either by moving them manually, or by disabling them via putting a period in front of their folder name
i did not realize you could easily disable a mod by changing the name on the folder to simply put a period at the start. huh. makes note of that in notepad for future reference

I won't be preparing any unofficial updates myself (unfortunately I don't have the time to support them anymore). I can definitely submit a pull request if the author doesn't update it though, and anyone would be welcome to create an unofficial update from it.

There's two main parts: updating the actual mod code (and submitting a pull request), and packaging the changes into a release. I'll be doing the first part for open-source mods as needed, I just won't be packaging any releases myself.

Does anyone have any good experience with using Vortex mod manager for updating mods? I've been using it because it greatly streamlines the installation of mods, but it makes the update process much more painful. When Vortex installs an update, it treats it as a new install with its own new folder in the staging area - that means the new version doesn't get the config.json or any other customized files, which need to be manually reapplied for each mod or you lose all configured settings for the mod.
Is there any workaround for that other than just not using Vortex as a mod manager?
It's not recommended to use a mod manager due to how easily it screws things up. Installing mods, and updating them, is extremely easy ( As long as you don't go many months without updating things, then you get a ton to do at once, but updating as things need it is incredibly easy ) . You just download, unzip, throw it into the mods folder
vortex is especially bad. If you need one it would be better to use moddrop
Yeah, I know how to manually handle installing and updating mods. Vortex is just appealing because the single-click to install straight from the Nexus page is an incredible convenience. Updating all mods with a single click from the manager would be incredibly convenient as well, if Vortex wasn't so stupid about how it applies updates.
I guess I'll fall back to manually downloading and extracting if there's no way to get Vortex to retain config files through updates, but that's a bummer.
hey guys, have a question about updating mods - will progress be resetted if i delete the old mod file and replace it with the updated version? e.g the skull cavern elevator mod, ive progressed to lvl 300 there and was wondering if it will stay at lvl 300 once i update or will it be lost ?

well, SMAPI is the most popular mod framework for stardew, but one with programmer exp could mod in other ways. if you a standard mod user, yeah use SMAPI, buy "You always need SMAPI" is no 100% true, maybe 90%....

@pliant dustyou need to both install the linux version from the depot, run the installer from github, and then run smapi against that depot folder to have a working game from that (also note the 'beta' branch is offical 64 bit game, though it just came out yesterday and is definately not ready to play from user side yet)

I didn't realise I had to put stardewmoddingapi in the depot folder and then download smapi, I did it in the wrong order :P

mostly driven by the fact that it's going on xbox gamepass, which requires moving to later frameworks, but yeah, very strange for a game this old to completely change frameworks
(and there's generally good reason for that, it's not good practice to have people that bought your game suddenly no longer be able to play because you decided to jump ship to a new framework)

it's also going to monogame, instead of xna, but 'updating' to 5 is also not much different to going to a different framework as well
So xna deprecated... I like xna, don't know much about mono
it was already on monogame in linux/mac, so its not a 'big' jump, but it will definately leave some people out in the cold that could run the game before (thus the need for a compatibilty branch)

@muted pagoda Like others have said. Monogame is the open source continuation of Xna, it uses the same namespaces, same type names and basically is an improved Xna. It's rather good.
If you are coming from Xna I would highly recommend Monogame. It's basically the same thing.

I'm surprised it didn't verbally say it was having problems with duplicates, it usually does mention such issues. Though I've only seen it gripe about different mods trying to edit the same file.
yeah, duplicates generally means it throws up its hands and says I quit
I personally don't like SVE at all, but obviously it's a very popular mod that many will recommend.

I think they messed it up in the latest version
the 'last' version of smapi was the big changeover to harmony2 (and it rewrites harmony1 calls to harmony2, which is probably the time you're seeing)
Are you closing the game and reopening it after putting the EPU in your mods folder?
but at the moment Pathos has their hands full with getting the beta up to snuff
Also, if you have multiple SMAPI installs for any reason, are you putting the EPU in the correct mods folder?
...actually that goes for any instance of having multiple folders on your computer that are named "mods", i once accidentally put a bunch of Celeste mods into my Stardew Valley mods folder

Anyone here knows how to migrate my Stardew to 64 bit?
What I have done so far:
- Downloaded the Depot
- Downloaded the 64Installer
- Ran the installer ( it created a temp folder in %AppData\Local\Temp)
Now it goes haywire:
Tried to install Smapi 3.12.2 to that newly created folder.... It doesn't find "Stardew Valley.exe" (The folder only got StardewValley.exe - missing the space)
Actually went ahead and renamed the .exe (mostly for shits and giggles did not expect it to really work... It suprisingly did work in that smapi installer accepted it and let me install there, but game then doesn't work, still not properly finding the "Stardew Valley.exe")

I don't really have experience modding any games, and was wondering... To mod stardew valley, do you need some kind of mod loader or is there some way to limit a mod to one farm?

and through the installer and depot Downlaoder
and tried both, actually downloading again through depot downloader right now to try it again, thought that might be the reason too
okay that failed awesomly, getting span that the folder doesn't exist after going fully through the installer ๐ okay trying again

no, mods and saves are somewhat separate
you can launch "vanilla" stardew (no mods) and modded stardew and then choose the appropriate save
SMAPI is the modloader
Now it is working, after manually giving it the depot file again but the newly downloaded

I feel like json assets gets shuffled every time new ja items are added to the mods or if I add a new ja mod. So if the mod adds new items then the reshuffle will happen.
add them one at a time, launching and saving the game, and it will be minimal possible shuffle regardless of how big the mod you added or updated was
on the other hand adding/updating a bunch of mods at once leads to bigger, weirder shuffles
Adding them before starting a save and then leaving them alone also helps, as opposed to adding them to an existing save
Thanks for sharing the log! The console command rgb.give should work as intended in the next update, it was using the crafting recipe name rather than the object variant name. Robin turns up after a while, depending on money and friendship, as well as having played at least 31 days. You can also just have her turn up immediately with the cheat command rgb.eventset!
New save, earn 10,000g friendship 6 heart(>500) and played the game for 34 days, She never came to see me at home.
Hm, just tested it now on a mostly-empty save, and after using CJB cheats to give 10,000g, add 6 hearts with robin, and set the date to summer 8 it seems to work:
interestingly in your log the event is listed as Farm/m 10000/j 31/w sunny, while in mine it's Farm/m 10000/f Robin 500/j 31/w sunny

53050000 is the event where Robin visits and gives you the recipe, and eventset toggles it as seen/not seen, and then says what state it's at
So according to the console you'd already seen the event
and now it's set to not seen

certainly i haven't found any existing events with the same ID.
Because I tried all the commands of Raised Garden Beds?
Does vortex really autodownload dependencies? I can't seem to figure out how to get it to do that
with premium..maybe? otherwise no (and its not always a good idea, as many mods use dependencies to also list optionals)
dependencies really arent that big a deal generally, there's like... 6 frameworks that drive 99% of content
Eh, it's kinda annoying having to open up like 12 tabs for all the dependencies when you're starting to download mods
and you still have to go through each mod to make sure you're not missing a niche dependency, which is big effort 
The give and giveall commands don't mark the event as being seen, they just try and give you the garden beds. I can only imagine that at some point it tried to play the event, but simply didn't do anything, so it was marked as seen without you seeing it?
I'll have an update out shortly with some minor changes to translations, the event script parsing, and some more trace logging of important info, so if you're happy to download it and let me know whether or not it works I'd appreciate it!

You sure can! You'll notice there's a [CP] RaisedGardenBeds - English folder inside the Raised Garden Beds folder -- that's what holds all the translations.
In one content file you can include all the translations for the event dialogue, menu elements, etc, as well as the names of all items
RGB supports custom content packs, too, so you could include translations for the names of all items in any content packs you find in future

adopt n skin and BFAV are different mods that do different not really overlapping things
adopt n skin: lets you adopt more pets + lets you have lots of different animal retextures at once

Why are there so many nsfw stardew mods
over 24% of all mods on nexus mods for stardew are marked as 'adult'
Whoever just posted here about smapi errors:
- You need to install PPJA - Artisan Valley mod for first two to work
- Busty Farmer Sitting Patch/assets folder is empty. probably did not extract the zip file correctly
- you probably have Elegant Victorian Interior 1.3-1074-1-3 as a zip file in the Mods folder, extract it
- Get a new version of GetDressed mod other than 3.5.2

(deliberately behind on SMAPI version due to running walk of life, though if it updates or if i ditch it i'm going to add AT)
I had 600 someodd and eventually ending up cutting ZuZu as it seemed to exponentially increase loading time of the unoffical client
I dont nessiciarily thing it was specifically Zuzu or anything, but just the fact that it was an additional large thing (which pushes everything else in exponential ways of more things to check on load)
AT is THE LIFE, I updated 30 mods solely for it and never looked back

the top and bottom half of your screen are completely desynced, atleast that's how it was for me on all the devices I own

for me i dont care about fps unless it becomes unplayable
stardew doesn't really benefit a whole lot from going past 60fps, but the thing about vsync is that it likes to freak out if you aren't constantly at or above your monitor's refresh rate

Wayland on Linux is insane in that it completely fixes any and all screen tearing with stardew, but unfortunately it doesn't play nice with nvidia gpus yet
that really depends on 'what' mods you have, and not how many.

timed it once and it was about 17 minutes on battery; it's less when plugged in but i never actually strictly timed it
And I thought me having a couple minutes of load time was bad, lol
you can fit in all of the big mods inside 150 mods and still have glacial loading time, or have 500 tiny cp packs that take 5 minutes to load

it mostly contribultes to the loading time
spritemaster is pretty small on loadup actually but it takes a lot of RAM because its basically a shader

upscales everything into painterly style - though i still have the memory settings set for 32 bit, not 64 bit, so it's more...turns a random selection of sprites into painterly style and shuffles which ones are painterly
yeah it does that for some people for some reason
less that it's buggy, more that spritemaster is still restricting itself to the 32 bit memory areas
sve, ridgeside, E scarp, Lunna, 128 total friendable npcs, game takes about 5-7 from launch to title, then another 10-15 for title->new save day 1 load. (entertainingly, adding Zuzu to that set, makes launch->title go to about 12, but title->new save go to over an hour)

depends specifically what's wrong with it, usually not worth the effort, if it's even possible, that's why stardew has a 'yesterday' save, and savebackup has several days of real life backup

I am a farmhand in a Co-op multiplayer game.
Me and my friend (the host) both play on PC laptops. We have had several farms together. No matter what character I marry after a little while my spouse stands on the path leaving our farm by the bus stop all day and night. He doesnโt return to the house until the morning. My spouse just stands there doing nothing and no dialogue. Itโs so frustrating. Iโm not sure how to resolve the issue. We play with mods. We both have the same mods. The issue has only happened to spouse once match twice at most but it happens to my spouse pretty much every time he leaves the farm . Does anyone have any idea how I can stop this from happening? Iโm inserting a photo of Harvey frozen on the path. Other 2 characters are me and my friend. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know why the SMAPI detects one mod as "multiple copies"? I'm sure (and have checked) I only have one version of that mod installed. But I have both the [CP] and [JA] mod and they have the same update key. If I remove the [JA] folder I can use the [CP] folder just fine.

i don't think it's related to your problem, but child to npc isn't compatible with multiplayer as far as i know. for the problem i'd suggest first trying reset terrain features to reset bushes and trees, i think someone had a similar problem in the past because a tree or something was messing with the npc pathing. if it doesn't fix it, you could do patch export characters/schedules/Harvey https://github.com/Pathoschild/StardewMods/blob/develop/ContentPatcher/docs/author-guide.md#patch-export to export the schedule on a day when he's stuck so people could check if there is something wrong with it

[Hippo] Common Ahegao Dryads, [MPA] CJB Item Spawner and Monster girls are empty folders, I suggest deleting these mods and re-downloading them from Nexus Mods (Or where ever you got them from).

The AbbyMod is a .xnb mod (Most likely an old mod) and isn't supported by smapi.
And for Multiple Spouses, it looks like you messed with the config.
Open the Multiple Spouses config and do Ctrl + F, then type in U and hit Search (Or something related to that), then cycle through each instance of "u" until you find one all by its self. Alternatively you can do this by eye.
If that doesn't work, delete the mod folder and re-download it.
I donโt think I have any mods that change the NPCโs schedules. Not that I know of anyway. I might have mods that change the layout of things though. I have the immersive 2 farm layout in SVE and I have mods to change the appearance of my kitchen and also the look of buildings. I will attach 3 photos of my mods. I took a picture of my computer screen so hopefully you can read them. These are all the mods I currently have.

I forgot to clarify that certain folders in those mods are reported as empty in your log.
In my experience just removing and re-adding those mods should fix the problem. That, and those particular mods, if removed and then re-added, won't break your game or lose any progress.

Yes the spouse from that log is Raphael from the Lunna mod. But after I did this log I divorced him because he started freezing on the path and I married Harvey. But he hasnโt done it yet because I have only been married to him I think for one day.
So is Harvey also getting stuck on the path?
those mods are uptodate the forage ahegao mod is saying it needs updating due to the fruit one being a higher version yuri yuri mod is upto date but not saying it is and the content pack is a similar issue to the forage tree mod

If one were getting stuck it would be a pathing error in their schedule. More than one though suggests something more involved. Or possibly just coincidence.
Sve does adjust maps which could confuse schedules.

Yeah Iโve been married to Sam , Elliot , Harvey ,Sebastian and Alex and they have all been stuck on the path. And itโs been in all different seasons and over the course of different farm layouts. No matter who I marry they get frozen on the path.

after installing the mod pressing L in-game (after loading a save) should bring up a graphical interface to the mod features, and you can select which terrain features to reset + the maps you want to reset them in
At one point I had a mod that replaced the spouses room with a bathroom and I thought that might have caused the problem but I deleted that mod a long time ago and itโs still happening.

from what I saw in the ss, its a camcelcasing (filename) issue with that treehouse mod (linux/mac is more picky about naming than windows is)

it wants kidsTreeHouse.tmx, odds are that's not the way its cased in the actual filename
windows just shrugs and loads it anyway if the letters are right, mac/linux throws a fit
(this might not be the actual problem, but it's my first guess anytime you see a 'I cant find this file' type of error on mac/linux)

well, unfortunately that looks right, and looking closer at that error, its not that cant find it, it's an invalid file on mac, I seem to remember something about maps needing to be saved in a certain format to not blow up on mac

Yes, pathoschild is updating them, I found out about the new Stardew beta that way, and since I use a lot of mods I often encounter the not enough memory thing. Many CP mods work, Json Asset is the big issue at the moment. But if there's a way I can finally play with all the recolours I want and all the NPCs I want and all the crops I want and all the extra dialogues I want, I'll wait. Thanks for the answer.

i had made most of those textures years ago for sims1. they took a lot of downsizing and did become a bit blurry cause of it. next set will take longer as i'm making them from scratch

Unfortunately it looks like for some laptops you have to disable action keys in the bios settings of your laptop to use those function keys

can you upload the config.json of the mod to smapi.io/json and link it here? it should be possible to change the key to G, assuming some other mod or the native game isn't overriding it
on laptops you have to press ctrl + function key for the funtions to work

I had an hp pavilion that had the functions enabled by default - and it was super annoying playing games that used the function keys

some laptops have key combos that supposedly enables and disables it such as Fn+ Esc, Fn + Ctrl, or Fn + ShiftLock or Fn+ Insert, but none ever worked from me. I had to go into BIOS but that was a few years ago

hi! sorry if I'm interrupting, but iโve been having this issue trying to use SMAPI with my game where the game launches with no audio, but the audio works fine if i launch it without. i've tried all the common fixes listed in the troubleshooting guide, removed all other mods, reinstalled SMAPI, reinstalled the game, but nothing worked. Pathoschild told me to post in here to get some more help?

when you reinstalled everything, did you delete the stadew folder from steapapps? and after you restarted, when you installed smapi after the game, was the smapi instillation location the same as the game?

I don't have a log, it is an issue with multiple spouses mod. I seem to be having a specific issue changing the "unofficial" spouse and nothing seems to be working according to what the description states on the nexus mods page.

- trash/sell the items that got shuffled
- replace them with cjb item spawner if you remember what they were

Hey folks, hoping for some help with smapi and content patcher. I can't use my mods right now because I'm getting this error message:

i deleted all previous smapi files, redownloaded it from nexus, then used the smapi installer included in it
can you try copying the whole game folder to somewhere in your home folder and launching StardewModdingAPI.exe from it? i have no idea if it actually can help with the issue, but i guess it's something to try

Working on testing the smapi mod integration on the new beta update. the smapi.io says that the expanded preconditions should be working but when i try to run it i get a can't load dll error. have tried reinstalling and checked to make sure i was getting the right file but just can't seem to get it working.

You won't find them in the log since I deleted them a while ago because I didn't have the time to figure it out.
the mod by Chaekal-Rizum uses the load action which makes it apply by default before other mods that edit the wizard character spritesheet. you could try changing the Load in its content.json to EditImage (might need to update the Format as well, say to 1.16), and making it load after the other mods by renaming the mod folder to something beginning with a z character

if it changes the wizard sprite then yeah. it's not necessarily a problem but you can check if the seasonal cute characters mod has a config option to disable wizard edits to make it less likely a problem

I'm not sure what happened but a LOT of progress was lost as a result of these errors and I'm not happy about it

Smapi should have a backup of your save. Me and my cousin lost over a week of progress somehow, still no idea what happened, and Smapi saved our butts with a backup ;; So we only lost one day's progress instead of over a week
Problem is that it didn't save properly, it stopped responding when I went to save
Hopefully someone actually helpful can help you out ;; I am still very new with figuring out issues with error logs

there is a lot of stuff happening after the errors so it's not necessarily that they caused it. but the first and the last one is coming from expanded storage so you have some direction as to where to look for (although it's not necessarily a problem with it)
The error with Expanded Storage has something to do with "Controller" as that is mention many times. But I don't know what it means. I really do hope its not referring to my PS5 controller cause I don't know how that would cause an issue with Expanded Storage

you'll probably need to load a modded save with smapi and have the error handler mod installed to get it to load at all
depends on what kind of mods you had installed though
