hey, i updated and downloaded a few mods and i've got some compatibility errors because of my farm maps. is it okay to remove some of these files so that only one loads (for the pethouse), and is there a way i can use different mods for different saves (to fix the cave issue - one is waterfall farm which has a huge cave, the other is hill-top with the vanilla cave which i want to replace)? here's my log:

so I'm on Linux, and I'm having an issue running the .sh file of SMAPI. I installed mono-complete. For some reason, the default application to run it with is Text Editor? Even still, whenever I hit run, it does nothing. How can I run the file?

Well, there's a few. You can cheat to give yourself infinite money and stamina. But if you don't want to cheat-cheat, one of the mods I use puts a bathroom in your house that lets you restore stamina without sleeping.
As for money, there's really no substitute for putting in the work. Grow your crops, do some fishing, do some mining, forage. It's not hard to make a ton of cash early game. Even without new-mod crops, if you grow the right stuff you can make loads of dosh

For some reason I downloaded smapi 3.12.2 and my antivirus said it is a virus? Anybody knows why
as custom furniture is not working right now, is there any other options to add those items into the game without overriding items like with content patcher?
Updated to SMAPI 3.12 and the newest SDV patch and now having issues with Content Patcher giving error with Extended version and my other mods. It's not really something that can be fixed; every antivirus is different, and even the same antivirus on two different systems can behave differently. plus you have the smapi installer in the mods folder - remove it and just put it in your downloads folder

To my knowledge there isn't a mod to allow you to talk to NPCs as many times as you want in a day. But you could talk to Sebastian every single day. Mobile Phone would make it easier

Dialogue tends to go by days, most of the time. So multiple times a day would just be the same dialogue.

How do I cheat in items w/CJB?
Modding a switch is frowned upon by Nintendo and, if found out, I think you can get banned from any online service through that unit. Like buying games or playing online.
CJB Cheats doesn't spawn in items. That's CJB Item Spawner.

hi guys, thinking about modding my game with the stardew expanded mod and a couple of others but was wondering something - if i use the mods on my vanila save and use mod features (e.g. larger chest) and then uninstall the mods in the future, will it fuck up my vanilla game save file ? such as the items that were in the modded chest, game progression etc ? or will i be able to carry on playing vanilla without any bugs or screwups ?
Depends on the mod - if the mod adds new items, you'll need to remove those items before removing the mod
if the mod adds new maps or NPCs, an entirely vanilla Stardew can't handle those being removed but Stardew + SMAPI can, so you'd want to remove the mod, play 1 day with SMAPI stardew, and then go back to vanilla stardew
(or just keep running it via SMAPI without the mod i nthe mods folder)
expanded chests in particular, you'll want to remove the items from the extra slots and put them in other chests before removing expanded chests
and SVE changes maps - if a map is changed mid save, things such as trees, grass, placeable objects, etc remain at the same coordinates regardless of whether those coordinates are still in bounds
but game progression etc will be fine!

I am having an issue with a mod. I looked through the SMAPI line command box and it is not throwing an errors that are related to the mod in question. I also parced my log and everything related to the mod seems to be working. I also flipped through the mod's Nexus page and didn't see any answers there. I'm using the Boarding house bus stop expansion mod. but some of the shops are not working. I can get into Gregory's shop, but I cannot open the AG shop or Sheila's shop. they just don't open when I click on the registrars. On another note, in this log, did you try to open the shops and the coffee machine, and then closed out of your game to get the log?
Hello, I'm a fairly seasoned mod user returning to the game after about 9 months. I had a total data lose recently and I am redownloading as we speak. @royal arrow yes, that is exactly what I did. I was trying to fix it myself. so after trying a fix I loaded back in and still experienced the problem.

You'll be able to make jellies, wines, pickles, etc out of the additional crops without Artisan Valley.

However, custom artisan goods will require Artisan Valley.
Artisan Valley adds a ton more features and requires a ton more mods

Stardew itself works just fine but when I try to run smapi it just closes immediately, no error message, no logs, nothing.
I'm on GNU/Linux, Pop.OS 21.04, Latest version of Smapi and Stardew (Steam). Mono is also installed as well as xterm.
can you try opening a terminal in the game folder and launching smapi from it (with ./StardewValley)?

is there a way to destroy them?
Love of Cooking does use JA for a component. It's possible you still got the JA item ID shuffle.
JA assigns IDs to its items dynamically, and when you add/update/remove JA mods, it reshuffles IDs. That can lead to items getting scrambled, and an item becomes another item. But it should only happen to JA items, not vanilla items like chocolate cake 
I'm not sure, but you can check the mod description on nexus! There's also a sticky post for it on nexus that includes an FAQs list

I recommend making a bug report in the Love of Cooking mod. Include your log, and explain that you recently added new JA mods (tell bblueberry I sent you hehe)

Hi! The error is actually from Shadow Cove, which has a TMXL component. Can you try deleting Shadow Cove and reinstalling it?
Oh I forgot to mention it, but include that in-game screenshot of your new chocolate cake recipe. I personally use imgur to share images but there's lots of other image sharing websites

are you sure you're using the 64 bit version? i'm not sure how it's indicated nowadays but your game folder is the usual 32 bit default install

installing the 64 bit client generally installs it somewhere other than where the 32 bit is, unless you changed the steam launch options to point to it, you need to load it instead of the 32 bit that steam likely points to.

From the log it looks like you did not wait long enough. Because the log cuts off while loading custom music. But has no errors. Try waiting longer. See if it crashes or you get an error.

My game use to take 5 min to get to the start menu. And that was with a fairly average pc.
i think i may have found the issue : theres no content.json file . just manifest and " nature.json "
yeah 5-10 minutes is pretty normal for a decently modded game, and it does in fact sit on that last music bit for a long time
ill try to rename nature.json and see if it works
I bought a monster of a PC just a few months ago, and it still can take 2-3 min to get to the start menu... And another 2-3 to load my game. So be patient. But if it does crash come back and we will try and help you figure it out. π

interesting, there seems to be 20 second pause after the message mentioning GMCM and the next message (from content patcher). i never have pauses after the last music file is done (and loading them doesn't take long either). i have an average computer i guess

Yep. I put back in all other mods that would add cooking recipes, only the PPJA mod would trigger the malformed recipes
It's only three recipes tho, so I wonder if the IDS can easily be identified and I can do a quick fix if possible. That being said, I have no modding experience whatsoever and no idea what values or what data to edit 
Also, if I may ask, is it normal for SMAPI to take a few mins to startup with about 80+ mods, it's also taking a bit of time for the game to find my saved game files...

if you click Refine Results on the stardew valley mods page on nexus, you can scroll all the way to the bottom of Refine by Category and select Visuals and Graphics, then click Apply Filters to filter out all non-graphical mods
which will give you a lot of recolours to look at

you dont 'need' either of the mods I suggested, that error (other than the file name problem one) are harmless, it's just compatibilty stuff, ie artisan valley making champaign related items if you have champaign wishes
yeah, many people use artisan valley without those mods
same with frozen treats, making more ice cream realted things
the file name thing is actually a problem though, and will mean basically none of the flower based machine stuff will work if you dont fix it

loose sprites is a game file; hopefully at least one of Starblue and the Vietnamese Translation will have a config file that lets you turn off its patching of the Loose Sprites file
but failing that, you can open the content.json of one of them, crtl-F for FontBold, and delete that entire line

double click on "installer.bat" in the installer folder

but I had it fixerd

that new smapi and cp have had me back to square one with a few mods
but ive got massive memory leak somewhere

OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. cant give you a smap log for the error it doesnt show up in the error report

essentially when it starts showing error messages (randomly) i can no longer save game via sleeping
i'd recommend a. 64-bit stardew and b. if you have a lot of other stuff open, close some of it

@tired brook Unsure if you've had this bug reported at all already, but here's another instance of a bug where the log looks completely normal but the game had crashed, with a StackOverflowException visible in the console but not apparently making it into the log.
Was the raw setting question for me? If so, I'm not sure what it refers to. Lol

raw setting - on the smapi log page, your smapi log links have View Raw set to true in the URL
which means it doesnt have any of the formatting applied its just...text

Help? I'm having trouble updating 64 bit smapi. I downloaded 1.1.8 and sent the pathway to the depot, but my smapi file still says I last modified it in may.
I used overwrite instead of uninstalling it first because I wasn't sure how to uninstall it

I'm not sure, but you can update your bug report to Love of Cooking to include this new finding, and maybe bblueberry would know what to do. However, this seems like it's not LoC doing it, it's just trying to fix it
