that the Content Patcher 1.23.3
yeah, it's a problem with the mermaid island mod. before content patcher version 1.23.3 the warning messages just weren't printed to the log, but the problem existed still. it might not have an effect on your game if you don't use the spanish language though
I don't use the spanish verison at all
but my game won't let play my save file , until 1.23.2 resinstall
that does sound like a problem. if it happens consistently with the only difference being content patcher version, then i'd suggest reporting it as a bug on the content patcher nexus page (with smapi logs)

Hey, ya'll! I'm new to modding and I've got my set-up okay. I have some glitches which don't bother me much but the worst thing is the boat room for Ginger Island isn't available to me. I finished the rec center a long time ago and I never got the letter from Willy. The door says it's locked.

okay, the bit that is breaking Willy's boat is the Train Station mod. I am not sure how and why, but it may relate to many of your other mods being slightly out of date; you've got a few cascading errors caused by those
fixing the Zuzu city duplicate may actually have fixed that
otherwise I would go update Spacecore and Walk to the Desert Redux as the mods most likely to interfere. And you have a zip file in your mods folder that hasn't been unpacked, so go unpack that
if you want Child Age Up to work, you'll need Child to NPC

soo i have 181 mods now, and though I was very careful with only get mods updated this year, and all compatible with each other, no issues in the log, no crashes or problems with gameplay - the load time has gone up to maybe 20 minutes
so i need to cull some of these lol. my question is when examining all these mods to determine which i should get rid of first, like which ones are more prone to increase load time. is the file size or the amount of files in on mod that are more of a problem
Or just make yourself a cup of coffee whiel waiting for things to load. ๐
But SVE and PPJA are major load culprits, I believe.

OR, you could learn to make your own mod! Crops, recipes, and dialog are all easy-peasy beginner projects that require no advance knowledge so long as you follow a tutorial.

Joja Online can be a bit tricky to use; have you considered using Joja Seeds and the Joja Blackmarket? ๐

No, I didn't see those on the Smapi mod list, I'll take a look and see if they fit into my vision of the game. I've already edited the config.json for both the other mods to what I think they ought to be, but I wasn't sure if they were both going to independently pull their prices from the base prices and then modify them or else if the JojaMart mod would first get their prices from the base prices and then JojaOnline would get their price from JojaMart and then modify further, if you see what I mean?
I guess by "base price" I mean Pierre's price

hmm, its not strictly a cp update issue, reverted just that, still getting significantly more stutter, walked near that spot, it was fine, walked around a bit more, walked back and got the same massive stutter and now it looks like that image
though I did just realize I had added the unoffical reset terrain features be Esca earlier today as well, though I would like to think that wouldnt happen by default, next test just removing that :p

does this have anything with me using Alt+F4? since the memory error wasnt there before i force closed it iirc
just a bit longer than how long a day usually takes, i wasnt in any cutscenes or doing anything what would stop time
was mostly about how many days you played in 1 session

with rsv and sve, hitting the memory limits in a week is probably possible
watch how much memory the game takes when its open, when gets somewhere around 3.5-3.7 it will fail to save on dayend and explode in red console errors
hrm, looks like that weirdness with my map patching isnt strictly something new, I managed to do it with my old setup, the lag every few seconds is new though, bleh.

yeah, that's hitting memory limits, you need to either trim mods further, or make the leap to the 64 bit client
iโve tried the 64 bit client, it seemed really glitchy right from the start, maybe i didnt set it up right
it works slightly differently, especially on loading, it loads the window decorations much earlier in the loading sequence than the windows client does, so you get the empty stardew screen for far longer
it does have its quirks in general and it may be it just disagrees with your machine, but it is the way forward for heavily modded clients
it also depends on how long ago you tried it, it has come a decent way since march? when it was first brainchild'd
my first attempt at running the 64 bit client hardlocked my machine :p
not that long ago at all actually, like a week ago or more, i either set it up wrong or its just my pc again
Maybe just make the choice: SVe or RSV? And play 3 years then switch out for a new game.

those blue squares are the wave files from SVE
its called windirstat. i use it to get a quick read on where the bulk of the file size of something is coming from

yeah, there's an issue with the config i've seen! i think (i'm testing it today ๐ค) that "true" just needs to be replaced with "enable", and that would fix it?
You'd need to either recolour the RSV map to match each of the seasonal Earthy Recolour maps, or delete the recoloured map files from Earth Recolour's folders so that the whole thing is vanilla-coloured

yeah, the config file changed, but even letting it go to the new defaults, I get fairly significant stutters every few seconds with 1.0.5 that doesnt exist in 1.0.4
aha, yeah, looking at the posts on the mod page, it is indeed well known that 1.0.5 is causing microstutters
so..you probably want to stay on 1.0.4 and skip to whatever the next version is maybe
I'm still curious what's causing my bizzare antipatching happening over up where the lost woods entrance is, not that it matters much, had to have been that way for a while, I rarely actually go to that spot because of the farm->woods link
and I did discover that going west into the woods and back does fix it, very bizzare.

hello! i tried combining "make gunther real" with the lil nas portraite and....... well this is what i've ended up with. does anyone know how i can combine these? this is the content.json, i took the replacer content.json from the lil nas folder and pasted it into the start of the make gunther real content.json and deleted the lines about replacing gunther's sprite/character

you dont need to 'combine' the mods, you just need to delete all of the sprite/portrait loads in one of them so they dont both fail

Have you manually converted the Lil Nas X portraits & sprites to match the new ones from Make Gunther Real? Because if you haven't, you're gonna run into problems where MGR's code is looking for specific portrait expressions or sprite animations and not finding them because they're not included in the LNX art files

There isn't anything like Reimagined that's updated for 1.5. The closest you're gonna get is Expanded Access Maps, but not many people create town map overhauls because they're a lot of work and also SVE makes so many changes that there's no way they can be made compatible

This is because you either installed a mod mid-playthrough, are using a mod that isn't updated for 1.5, or are using multiple mods that aren't compatible with each other. You can use Destructable Bushes or Reset Terrain Features to get rid of them

Ahh, gotcha! Yeah, as far as I'm aware (I could be forgetting some), there's only really four main map overhaul mods - Reimagined 1, Reimagined 2, Expanded Access Maps, and Karmylla's Immersive Maps - and Expanded Access Maps is the only one of those that's been updated for 1.5. I haven't actually tested the others, but I know KIM and Reimagined 1 were outdated even in 1.4, and Reimagined 2 at the very least makes the special orders board invisible and probably affects other 1.5 stuff too
So they all probably load in and are partially functioning, but they'll block 1.5 features and mess up NPC pathing

No, that's not the issue
The issue is the actual art - Make Gunther Real has 7 portraits, while the Lil Nas X portrait only has the one. Same with the sprites - MGR has a full sprite sheet to add in sprites for the Flower Dance, the wedding, kissing, the new heart events, etc. but LNX only has the same sprites as the vanilla spritesheet. So if you just do a straight replace of MGR's art with LNX's, either manually via overwriting the files or by changing the code, you're going to have the same issue - MGR's dialogue and event code will look for a particular expression or a particular sprite animation, but it won't find it because LNX's art doesn't have that
So unless you manually adapt a version of the LNX art files to match the expressions & sprites, it won't work. You'll just get invisible sprites

You can turn off whatever you don't want to use in the Medieval Buildings config, then open up the Medieval Buildings manifest.json and add a dependency on Eemie's Seasonal Victorian so that MB will load after Eemie's and overwrite it. When you open the manifest.json, you'll see a Dependencies section with other mods listed - the code you'll want to add is

hey thanks so much! so now the greenhouse works but the farmhouse is still using the one from medieval buildings even though i already deleted the House option from the medieval config file. should i delete the house asset from the medieval mod as well?
i also deleted the shed and stable option from the medieval mod and that is working well, the game is now using the shed and stable from the seasonal victorian mod. just the house that's the issue now

Nah, deleting the actual asset would technically work, but SMAPI will shout at you about missing files. If removing the House option from the config didn't work, then open up the content.json and find & delete this bit of code:

yup! but its an issue with walk to the desert and sve i think, so to solve this you can 1) remove WttDR until sve updates OR 2) open up the content.json in the CP folder of sve and ctrl + f and look for Custom_Tarniyar_GhostTown and change it to Custom_WTTDR_GhostTown
there should be like 2-3 if not more, change all of them

The Linux version of the game is 64 bit, so Linux users don't have the OOM problem, Windows users do. Hence the process to get the Linux version of the game on Windows

if this is a save that you've used mods on then it most likely explains the crashing. if you wanna use that world again you need to put the mods back in again

yep, some people dont experience issues while most do, from my personal experience it messed with how files were deleted/updated
so its best to do so manually
This is already mentioned in the mod page. It's a problem with Harmony, and it only affects Automate compatibility. The rest of the mod works fine.

Is there a good alternative mod to Mobile Calendar? It crashes my game when I try to use its functionality, and there's a bug report from May with my exact issue with no response, no new update since August of 2020 so I'm assuming it's just a dead mod now...
not related to the mobile mod at all, but UI info suite should let you view the calendar and quest board from anywhere when you open your inventory i think

Um, most mods won't be updated for mobile since they're made for pc first (usually). It could be that it isn't compatible with mobile as well, some mods are like that

I do have a question for those who don't use Vortex or ModDrop or some other deployment manager. How do you handle load order? I just had an issue where Fish Info wasn't working right because it was loading before JsonAssets, and I fixed it by establishing a rule in Vortex that JsonAssets has to deploy before Fish Info. If I wasn't using Vortex, how would I have handled that?

smapi loads mods alphabetically, so anything named Z gets loaded last
so in your case, it makes sense why json assets was loading after fish info

i'm sure you guys get this all the time, but this is my first time trying to use smapi and stardew valley extended. I downloaded it with vortex and it says that the mod is installed but when I launch it smapi tells me it can't load because of a long list of other things that aren't installed. I installed each of them individually and it didn't change anything. I tried looking up some guides on youtube and I thought I followed everything perfectly. It says it is missing: PYTK, spacecore and JSON assets. Any ideas?

ditch vortex, download smapi + unzip + install, then when you download mods do so manually and unzip them into the mods folder
I havent gotten that, but I havent played much with the 'latest' version which changed things quite alot

So if you're curious about a mod you can download and try it out. Sometimes you need to change the minimal versions in the manifest to make them work, so it's just a matter of curiosity

and you dont 'need' antisocial npcs, it deploys its own fixes if you dont

I'm getting the sinking feeling that a lot of these mods that seemed fine while I've been getting everything loading happily these past couple weeks are going to crash the game when I actually try to use them in-game, because almost nobody is keeping track of whether they actually work in 64-bit...
the only mod I've found to actively dislike 64bit is Walk of Life combined with Automate (known and the author and Pathos were trying to solve it)

I saw in my log that it (JojaOnline) couldn't load anything from Pierre's store, so I guess it defaulted to a fallback list instead of the expanded list, is that because I'm using SVE also? I think I heard that SVE remove Pierre's store or something? It's my first time playing with SVE

So yeah I know that Afraz's NPC Path Display mod keeps generating errors as he hasn't coded any filters for farm buildings, but it's the massive wall of red at the bottom where the game lagged so badly it stopped responding.
I've no idea what's causing the lag to begin with although I suspect it's Afraz's mod that's doing it.

once you actually get 'in' the game, its generally not too bad with most mods unless you get the few that go crazy constantly scanning stuff
Stutter and fps drops are usually relat8 to mods
sdv itself the game engine is not very heavy at all
other big one is stuff like joys of efficiency/other auto tool type things that constantly check everything around you

Late reply, sorry ๐ But for the most part, DSV should be fine to use in multiplayer even if the other players aren't using it. The only part that would cause trouble is Linus's modded option which adds a new custom NPC (his service dog Marigold) - if she's enabled in one person's game but not others, the game will crash if someone without the mod tries to enter an area where she is. Everything else is just visual though, so just set Linus to "vanilla" or "off" in the config and it should be fine to use! ๐

DSV is set to vanilla by default, I think. I haven't messed with the configs nor do I want to. But I can load up a save and see if the dog appears or not

Do you mean can you add mods to an existing save game? It depends on the mod (there's a few that require a new game) but on the whole, you can add them mid-game, yep

I'm having possibly the stupidist issue right now, I think my 7zip files arent unzipping/extracting so i cant figure out how to update smapi.
Here are my exact steps: I download the SMAPI 3.11.0 installer
I save the file
Then rightclick and say extract to my downloads folder on my C: drive
This shows up, I click yes to all
Then i attempt to open my install on windows.bat file and it refuses to open
What am i doing wrong?

close that, go to the folder you put it in, open the folder, run that.

once you extract it, you need to go to the place you extracted it

I'm not the best with extra steps thrown in and I kept opening my zip file instead of the extracted file ahah
zipped files you think of as a box, after you extract it, you go find the open box and start digging in that instead.
When i open the box, it creates another open box with my info in it that I need to remember where I put it
it generally puts the folder in the same place the zip file is, unless you tell it something specifically different

I finally found an old version ON my computer that actually works, though none of the ones I downloaded worked. it works. for the dog. but not for the chicken or cows. I haven't gotten to renaming the rabbits, sheep, etc, but I've got the chickens and cows done per the instructions...but I'm deffo doing it wrong. I don't suppose anybody can tell me the correct naming convention?
