tryed without SVE and stardew worked fine add SVE and I got the debug permission pop up again and then immediately after the game closed/crashed.
A log and I'm looking at it right now and everything looks fine to me except the one line for debug that I'm thinking might be the problem but I'm not sure cuz I don't really understand much of it.
Also I was able to try and give it permissions but even after I put everything in it's still just the game closed/crashed.

Hi if I have stardew valley expanded and I have a save using that but I have a save I want to play without any mods what is the best way to make sure my game doesnβt get fucked up and my saves donβt get corrupted? Like can I just take the mods folder out if I want to play my unmodded save? Or will that mess things up

if you don't need steam features executing the StardewValley-original file might work, or you can use mod groups (using an empty mods folder) https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Can_I_have_different_mod_groups.3F. renaming the Mods folder to something else works too though

oh nvm got it, my zoom level is always at 75% and that messes it up

@stuck kite You need either the uh, unoffical of ui info suite.. or the ui info suite 2 for it to work correctly with the seperated zoom factor from 1.5, or turn off the range stuff there and use one of the other mods that does range of objects

Okay, so, yesterday I asked about the pufferchick. I was told that it's not a catchable fish, just a cute icon for SMAPI. But it's in my fishing collection for some reason (I was using Lookup Anything on my uncaught silhouettes, and it's one of them), which means some mod has it in there somehow. I searched the content files for SVE, MNF, and Mermaid Island, and didn't find it, but when I searched the content file of Stardew Aquarium, it shows this:
I just enjoy looking thru content files when I find little odd things; ask Trent.
So if SA thinks it's a real fish, would that cause it to show up in my collections?
Or is it a real fish after all, and I stumbled into some super secret legend fish?

There's another part in the file, but it's more of the same; check out the "HasMod" dependency.
yeah, you can donate it to the aquarium, and it has a tank for it

the tmx portion has a loadlate tag which I assume means it doesnt try to do any of its map stuff until you go there (and as I have basically all the mods it supports, that's ALOT of loading and patch tinkering)
I just don't want something like this messing with my 100% completion.

If it's not a fishable fish, but having this dependency in SA adds it to my collection--maybe I should ask the mod creator.
yeah, aquarium definately is the one that adds it, still have no idea if it's actually considered a fish (like the joja sve fish razor trout is not)
there is also a perfection tinkering mod you can use to lower what's required for perfection, in case of mod items that arent actually obtainable

Adds an aquarium to stardew valley, you get to it by taking the railroad, it's like the museum for fish. It adds more to the endgame, and also you can swim at the beach :)
But right now we're figuring out that it's adding a fish that technically doesn't exist to your fishing manifest.
Other than that, it's a cool mod.
you might also be able to try something like lookup anything or FishDex to lookup 'how' the game believes you can get it

it's in the log, it loaded fine. You do need Content Patcher for those 3 errors, but otherwise seems normal

nah tractor doesnt need any of those, those errors are about other things, you should see the garage to buy at the end of robin's list of constructions

no, you could try removing the dependency in the manifest, but I have no idea if it actually requires something inside sve for some reason

so.. ram is almost definately your problem, you can 'try' to close literally everything on that machine and run JUST the game and maybe get by playing maybe a week at a time in game. You really need to get another ram chip if possible, that type/size of ram is like.. 15$ or less, assuming you have someone you trust to do it

like, running sdv with just sve and ridgeside..pushes stardew's footprint to upwards of 3.5gb by itself

this is also why the 64 bit client was such a big win, because once you start pushing 3.5b (the limit of what a 32 bit application can use), the game would crash regardless of how much ram your machine had

yeah, your problem is your machine has 'maybe' 1 gb of ram to spare for a game, base stardew is like, 2/3 of that, sve is kind of large, so you rapidly get really close to not having any ram, and then the game explodes when it reaches the ram limit
I see, and I'm guessing the normal mods don't reach that point then.
I'm looking at your graphics card; how good was your frame rate? And damn, $15 for 16G of ram? I upgraded from 8 to 16 recently (desktop, DDR3) and it was, like $50.
that wasnt for 16g of ram, that was for an additional 2 or 4
for the ddr2 ram that machine uses/requires
Oh, okay, I misunderstood. I tried to run SVE and some mods on 8G and it tended to crash. That's why I upgraded.
My frame rate when SVE worked what fine ran smooth.
and normal mods add fairly limited amounts of new content/stuff loaded into memory, big content mods like sve and ridgeside and the like, add another games worth or more of new maps/content objects
and yeah, graphics card doesnt particularly matter, sdv is not graphically intensive by any means
That's true--I had frame rate issues for a while, but that's because I'm on a Linux distro and drivers for Linux can be tricky.

yeah i've been looking at other character mods, i currently have just nikolai and the peeps included with east scarpe and ridgeside
i can highly recommend toshinori and lucikiel. they might look out of place, but their respective authors put in a lot of work to have them fit well. and lucikiel's events are pure art, while toshinori has a whole 5 year story

i know there are mods that give krobus more dialogue but what i'm hoping to find is one that makes him mechanically function as a spouse instead of a roommate, since some stuff in the game is hardcoded to only recognize a spouse

Where can i find config for mods
They'll be in each mod's folder inside your main Mods folder - the file is called config.json. So for example if you're looking for the config for Way Back Pelican Town, you'd go to Mods, then to Way Back PT's folder, and find the config.json file. They're only created if you've started the game at least once with the mod installed though
Alternatively, you can use Generic Mod Config Menu (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098, GMCM) which adds a little cog icon in the lower-left corner of the title screen
...That's because Bigger Backpack doesn't have a config. There's a note in its mod description about how to edit it

For Diverse Stardew, I already said you can turn off the bachelors if you don't like them or use the vanilla option for those characters
for the vanilla facelift the problem is, i dragged it into the mods folder. unzipped and then opened the game, i tested it and it didnt work same for baechus

The launch options needs "" around the path to your game location. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command% is what it should look like

It should be in the base folder, where you'd see the exe for the normal game

you dont need the nested one
and here you only have the dll files, thats why your mods arent working
each mod you unzip comes in a folder, you get that whole folder into your original mods folder
As an example to this, here is an example of what NPC map locations looks like in its own folder that you unzip

So I was using adopt n skin, but now want to remove it. I am playing multiplayer, and removing it works fine on my end, but any farmers trying to join my farm get a load of errors and can no longer join the farm (even if they deleted adopt n skin from their mods folder too). How can I fix this?? Any ideas.?
apparently time before harvest isnt working according to the bug reports on their page, so you'll have to remove that

found out that apparently you can now swim with your horse with the swim mod
if the issue is with existing items, it's not really possible to fix, but new items should be fine

it should only happen when items in the mod were removed, added, or if their loading order changed (can happen if item folder in the mod was renamed for example)
well if you updated PPJA mods now i think one of those at the least is very possible

When i update my earlire i couldn't play with 21 year day 15 i had white screen which it wasn't respond at all try few times to reload my game and still didn't work so i delete the new update and resinstall the old verison and my game is working with no problem and i didn't have the yellow text from content patcher from island
the yellow warnings seem to be a result of improved validation on content patcher's side, from the release notes of content patcher version 1.23.3 Improved patch validation to detect more common mistakes: using an Include patch with a Target field
before that the mistake just didn't raise the warning
