Apologies if this has been asked before,
we are currently playing multiplayer and looking for a mod where we can increase our farm size on an existing save

Does this work with existing multiplayer saves though, we are at year 2 and dont particularly feel like restarting
They should, yes. Though you might end up with stuff in unreachable places, no matter what map you choose

ye they say to request permission to modify, and note that there are assets from other authors. So if you're erring on the safe side, you shouldn't upload your modified portraits without explicit permission

i dont remember what that situation was exactly riley, but its been that way for a bit
i haven't been active for a while, so I'm unaware of anything that's been going on in regards to SDV
Minerva had issues with Nexus and permissions so their mods are on other places
Others are migrating as well
question: um so i've never used recolors or building replacements(?), i use vortex through nexus, do i just install them the same way i do other game changing mods?
I know most people recommend doing it manually, cause apparently vortex can cause issues with installation. But I'll let someone that knows vortex answer

Does SVE come with a bathroom in the farmhouse? I always forget

i don't believe it does unless it came in an update and i just don't know about it. but the only bathroom in house mod i've found doesn't work and has broken my game several times not realizing that it was the problem

Okay, so I'm trying to restore my farm pepper bell, and there's two folders for the farm as you can see in the pictures, one has the stardew valley save MP tacked on to the end of one and the other has I guess the day saves?
Anyway I'm following the instructions on the wiki page for restoring the saves or whatever and I'm unsure of which I should do first removing the stardew valley MP off of it or doing the day save restore thing.
Because the farm is showing up on the on the load farm screen.
So I'm just a bit confused.
is sve no longer compatible with things that alter stuff like the inside of the greenhouse or the farmhouse? i recall it having some override stuff you could do for stuff like seasonal things. what about map recolors?
I use SVE just fine with a recolor mod, reshade mod, a mod that changes the interior of the farmhouse, and a mod that changes the interior of the farm cave. The only thing I can't say for certain is a different greenhouse interior mod, though I'm not sure why that would cause any problems.
(I just want a bigger greenhouse)
SVE's config option has a feature that allows for a larger greenhouse w/ designated fruit tree spots if that interests you at all, but I would think that using another greenhouse interior mod would also work
You might also try joining the SVE discord and asking there if you want more solid confirmation
looks like it should work pretty well...

Do I want a seasonal (interior) greenhouse? or do I just want an absurdly gargantuan insane greenhouse?

Is there a difference between these two mods besides whether they use CFR or PFM?
don't know for certain, but I'd lean towards PFM, just because it's been updated for 1.5
Also, CFR itself hasn't been updated since Jan of last year, and there's multiple reports of the CFR version crashing (likely due to incompatibilities with 1.5, my understanding is 1.5 broke A LOT of stuff)
From the descriptions though, they're likely pretty much the same mod otherwise, it's just that PFM is far more recently updated.
Hi all, I decided to mod the game for the first time and concentrated mainly on quality of life mods and SVE and other mods that expand the game. I tried to play test it last night, and had the issue that the camera wouldn't follow my character, only resetting after I went into the crafting menu. If I post the SMAPI log, would anyone be willing to have a look and see where I may have messed up? Thanks!
why isnt sve working
does anyone know if the boarding house/bus stop expansion and garden village / walk to desert mods ever fixed the problem of collecting the stray NPCs in one corner of the map so that they never actually went anywhere?
can anyone tell me why my shoe slot is locked? I've got other farms and when i open them theres nothing there, but on my main farm i cant equip shoes anymore?

Did you install it?
You'll need to run the installer for your operating system packaged in the SMAPI download, and optionally set your launch options in Steam if you're using it. You can find a step-by-step guide on the wiki: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started
that doesnt matter, the multiple times thing I meant was for actual mods, usually installing a mod required by sve that is packaged with sve, and then also installing the standalone version
thus why a log would clear that up, that sort of thing is reported prominently by smapi near the top of the log
If you've installed SMAPI, then you can run modded SDV by launching StardewModdingAPI in your game folder. If you're using Steam and set the launch options correctly per the install instructions, then you can also run straight from Steam, too

do you have any fishing overhauls or anything?
tehpers is known to mess with the ability to get new fish, so if you have tehpers fishing overhaul, take it out and replace it with fishing overlays
The only fishing mod I have is the one that allows legendaries in fish ponds
razor trout is only catchable in the joja route, I do believe
its also not technically a fish, so doesnt go in the collections/required things
that's what I remember reading, anyway
I haven't finished the community center, so
incidently I do really like fishing preview+fishing overlay+visible fishes, makes it feel much more natural without actually changing any of the mechanics

Okay, cuz when I try to use the SVE and the mods to run it, mono keeps asking for debug permissions. Like in this pic, and this is the mono I got unless this is the wrong on. And I know I have been asking the same things but I just want to get SVE to work. Also I did get my SVE farm save to work again!!
Also also, is there a server for SVE and if so can someone send me a link to it cuz maybe I can ask for help there too.

I'm unfortunately unfamiliar with MAC. There is an SVE server, although this particular issue isn't because of SVE but rather modding stardew valley on that OS.

assuming you are certain you got your mods from nexus/moddrop, you could try filling out that prompt and seeing if it stops complaining (Be certain of this that you did not somehow get a malicious file beforehand)
I did I try to give it the debug permissions but it keeps asking and then Stardew crashes after.

(the reason I said bits about malicious files is searches did turn up malicious programs using a similar looking popup window to steal admin rights and compromise machines, usually for people that downloaded mods/etc/things from lookalike but not offical channels)
Though I dont believe your particular situation anything like that, the dev tools thing is literally prompted by the system because the game crashed.

I guess the easiest/best thing to do would be a start from scratch reinstall of the game, then smapi, see if it loads with just the smapi mods, then slowly add the dependencies sve needs, then sve itself, see if it breaks at any point

Yes, it adds to Robin's shop and also the furniture catalog if you buy it. You can optionally edit the json to not have it show up at the shop.

yeah! you can make a shortcut and drag it to your desktop. but if the vanilla sdv icon is already on your desktop, once again its better to connect that icon to your smapi via the guide i linked above

Yeah, you need both Custom Furniture and the modpacks. Right now I have all of the modpacks and CF all in a "Furniture" folder under my "Mods" folder (same folder level)

the automate mod works with all machines, so. yes
it says zero percent because you only have one fish, not 9

There are some fish (and other things, if you have the no restrictions fish ponds mod) that only produce roe.

there are mods that increase the range of your pickaxe upon charging so you can destroy large areas, but thats all i can think of

you can also use mega cherry bombs

be careful using bombs though, they clear out large areas and can hit your regular crops too

tractor is close enough. you can set the range to nearly screenwide. Switch to pickaxe, boom no more crops
But you do need to enable it in the config
any crops can be cleared with a pickaxe hehe even live ones

once you verify you have an actual working game, you could 'try' to fix that save that apparently has a typo in it (which says its corrupted in some way) but first thing is..getting a game that works

I'm unsure if that error is related to missing content or not, you should still try loading a 'new' farm with your current set and see if you get a clean log

you can if you want shrug, I'm usually around mid-late. The next step after verifying you have a clean new log would be trying that save after adding sve, and if it still fails, trying a new game after installing sve
I got rid of the save, but I did make a backup before
I have backed it up through the steam launcher where it saves it to the desktop how would I get the save files from the backup made through steam?
well, that was only if you really cared about trying to continue it, if not, dont worry about that part of things

After I unstalled SMAPI and deleted SVE mods, my game would not load
I then read on reddit somewhere that I should reinstall SMAPI but delete the SVE mods which I did and now my game runs but it has a pop up that says

First time playing on PC. I just wanted to download a mod that lets me slow down time. But then I thought "hey, I could check out some more mods on Nexus, just to see if there's something cool". Because "upgrading" a copper watering can into an steel watering can really isn't something a blacksmith can do, that's more of a job for an alchemist. No problem, it's slightly counter-intuitive so there's a bit of a learning curve. I think it's worth it though, that's why I went to the trouble of updating the extension to support 64-bit when I upgraded to 64-bit

The 64-bit version of Stardew is unofficial, but it has better performance and allows you to use vastly more RAM, meaning you can use a lot more mods before you run out

It also depends on what else you're running; every 32-bit app running on your machine shares the first 3 GB of your RAM.

If you've already offered your help again: Is there a way to determine whether or not a mod could have problems with the version? For example, there is a mod that changes the way the girls legs look, and it's last been updated to 1.1.0. I assume that this would have less of a problem than e.g. something that messes with gamefiles instead of textures?

So there's kind of a hierarchy of things that are likely to cause problems, and I'm not sure which files you mean that it is altering. If it's XNB files, those aren't really supposed to be messed with these days because of a high chance of conflict and no real reason to do so

I believe Vortex uses an implementation of LOOT, if I understand correctly
So just from a quick glance, that mod isn't listed as broken on smapi.io, and while there are two bug reports saying it's broken that are posted after the latest update, there are multiple posts saying it works fine. So my guess is that it should be okay, as long as you don't try to combine it with any other mods that try and change the appearance of those characters

Looks like the CP version on Nexus is the same as the offsite version I linked
Dialog mods are fairly straightforward as far as I can tell, they just add to the pool of phrases characters can say
CP is also a lot less likely to cause a conflict than XNB as I understand it, because it's only overwriting a small bit instead of a big chunk
I can't think of anything off the top of my head that adding a line of dialog would break, unless there's been massive changes behind the hood somehow

I may be exposing that I don't actually understand the difference here, but I THOUGHT that basically CP is adding in a hook for new lines, but XNB is actually replacing the whole file with all the Wizard's dialogue so anything else that alters dialogue for the Wizard would be a conflict
