Stardew Aquarium mod sells bait that allows you to recatch them if original conditons are met.

Good evening, I'm looking for anyone with experience with the PPJA Artisan Valley family of mods. I can't seem to get the sorbet machine to make one of the recipes according to the instructions on Mousey's PPJA Guide. I'm trying to make the strawberry dragonfruit sorbet, and I have all of the ingredients in my inventory, but it's insisting I get the ingredients for the raspberry dragonfruit sorbet instead and won't accept the ingredients for the strawberry variant.

It wouldn't let me finish out a night ( Multiplayer, I'm a farmhand ) because it wouldn't let me click OK for my level up so I'm thinking OOM but it doesn't actually say it, just whines about trellis

Pro-tip: the aquarium mod pairs nicely with the "More New Fish" mod by Hisame. And yes, that door in the aquarium leads to a room for some of the fish from Stardew Valley Expanded.

Didn't work; when I did that, it only accepted three of the ingredients (the strawberry, lemon, and sugar) to make the plain strawberry sorbet.
yeah, i was looking at the PFM rules for the sorbet machine and i'm not sure how they work together

but maybe try having the dragonfruit first in your inventory, then lime and then lemon

Is there anything specific about the website that you find confusing or would change?
So if I click on a category (e.g., Characters), I get lists by most recent, highest rated, etc., but "Explore All" strips off the category thing. So I can't just browse the characters section.

We only recently rolled out the new website design. I’m not sure how that featured didn’t get noticed in testing.
It didn't take long to finish after all. If I put the ingredients in the order that Mousey's has them, and try to put in the dragonfruit, it still says I either require 1 orange (it's trying to get me to make the raspberry dragonfruit again instead of the strawberry). And if I put in the strawberry, it once again leaves the lime and dragonfruit behind.
Only 2 recipes call for lime--maybe I should try leading with the lime.

so the input for both of these is the strawberry
both use lemon and i guess what happens is that the machine just picks the simplest rule
Ooof. And there's no way to let paradigmnomad know on Nexus Mods because posts are disabled on AV.
The plot thickens: if you F1 the sorbet machine, the strawberry dragonfruit recipe doesn't even show up on the list.
But I believe there's a silhouette space for it in the collections.
well ParadigmNomad left SD modding anyway. the mod is maintained but depending on the changes required (if the recipe is indeed broken) it might not get fixed

I was trying to make 100% completion a challenge on this save. Didn't know it would become impossible.

but this sounded like a self-imposed challenge and spawning in unobtainable required items at the end may or may not be more fitting than just perfection tweaking it, depending on the exact requirements

Yeah it was the weirdest thing. The host was perfectly fine ( So hopefully my things saved because of that ) but it just.. wouldn't let me click out of it

I got the CC cutscene like normal, as I had completed the minecarts one, just.. wouldn't let me level up, clicking OK did nothing but my game wasn't frozen or anything like that

I wonder, if you only run walkthroughtrellis on the host, would the map changes just sync to the farmhands?
That would actually be even simpler than changing the recipe.
I'm the only one with walk through trellis. Figured since all it does it let me walk through things, it wouldn't affect anything. And so far, it hasn't. It's spewed errors before, but I was told they were harmless, so I ignored them, gotten plenty of them, and only today has it ever done anything.. bad
Walk to desert plus zuzu creates a massive circular route that breaks many NPCs pathing.
To fix it Harv needs to remove the warp from sewers to zuzu sewers and replace it with a player only warp. Alternately wttd could do similar with their warp to zuzu.

Hey guys, having trouble putting gold cauliflower in luau and getting a best response. I've tried removing all extra mods and leaving behind SVE, Portraiture, CP items, and mod essentials like PyTK or space core.

@shy orbit I'm looking over the Sorbet Machine rules myself--what if I changed the input identifier to something other than strawberry (400)? One of the other ingredients, like the lime instead?
it might cause problems if there are other problems that use lime as in input
like the same situation as with the strawberry
The only other recipe that requires a lime is the mango sorbet, and it has the mango as the input identifier.
then i'd guess it would work

It appears to have worked, the machine took all 5 ingredients and spit out a strawberry dragonfruit sorbet. Thanks for showing me how to get to the rules file so I could mess with it

all mods should be deleted and installed, dont overwrite anything while updating

It's safe to overwrite code mods with their own updated versions.
you need to update your smapi and space core and json asset and generic mod config menu , they just update , make sure detele the old ones beofor you install the new ones 🙂

@alpine plume I've just updated Better Junimos and have three huts. The leftmost ones seem to be very reluctant to plant seeds, plus they keep piling up on the empty sites so I can't plant the seeds myself! Is there anything I can do to fix this? (some code to make all the Junimo go back in their hut would be nice).
And here's my layout. The left upper bit (outlined in a red box) is where I seem to have the most issues. The ones on that side don't seem to want to pick the plants either, or it's all a bit hit and miss. They've picking the beans and I think the pale berries, but left me the cauliflowers and most of the rhubarb. I had radius set to 15.

UI Info Suite wasn't fully updated for Stardew 1.5, you can either try installing UI Info Suite 2 or make sure that your UI Scaling is set to the same percent% as your Zoom in SDV's settings

if you install the updated Warp Snitch you can keep the NPC and it will just skip the animation

I don't think there really is but most of the time the ones using lots are the expansions or mods with lots of music

I'm not sure about that.. but I have heard people getting errors because they removed the music
if you want to improve performance, what you can try if you're using windows is disabling windows animations and all background apps in Windows Settings. Other than that you can (if you have it) use Nvidia Control Panel, select stardewmoddingapi.exe and tweak some settings there
(set preferred graphics processor to your nvidia gpu, set a max framerate, set power management mode to Prefer maximum performance) for example

nothing out of the norm, it just loads the day fine.

I get a lot of errors with expanded storage but don't think that's related
if that's at me, it's every mod with winter crops. I have like 4 or 5 that have added some winter crops and all of the modded crops die. Bonster crops, Raffadex teas and trees, radioactive tools (I presume for the radioactive seed from the mixed seeds), whatever mod is adding resource seeds from Clint too.

I installed json assets about 2 weeks ago, but I see there's a new update for it as of 2 hours ago
nvm, I realised I was looking at wrong log there, but uploaded the correct one. :p But still only error is the expanded storage which happens everytime I open storage, but hasn't had an effect on the game.

there was an issue with crops randomly dying/disappearing in winter and this should fix it

Looks like its 4 different mods seasonal cute characters and a few others. All thrown from content patcher. ive tried reinstalling all of them still the same errors
And when in game more pop in this format, with whatever the content its trying to load appearing black. But again, these errors dont appear on my main pc, just the laptop. ive tried reinstalling all of the above mods but cant seem to figure it out. I am not familiar with the path the mod error is referring to, not sure if that came from me moving these mods over to the laptop or not.

The Android version of the game is quite a bit different from other ports and so needs a custom version of SMAPI. See https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Android for details on getting started.

Run Smapi Stardew Valley
Mods folder will be created inside the Stardew Valley folder.
Download the mods you want and ALL requirements (download versions of mods that were uploaded before December 21st, 2020). Some mods with exception work on mobile, even being released in 2021.
Unzip these mods into the Mods folder inside Stardew Valley folder.

Hi! I keep trying to play modded through smapi, and I can play about a day. When I get to saving at the end of day 2, a bunch of red text pops up in the smapi console and i have to close the game, since nothing happens anymore. I usually then can reopen the game and play another day, only having to repeat the process on day 2 of the playsession. It's not rendering the game unplayable or anything, but it is very annoying. Is there a way to fix this? I'll copy-paste what you need to know where you need it.

hey, how would mods work on a co-op save ?
all players need to have the same exact mods on the same version to ensure full compatibility
unless its a visual mod then i think those would only show up for the person using them and wont affect anyones gameplay iirc (i.e: you're using one visual mod, the other player is using another)

Hi guys, I'm trying to play Stardew Valley Expanded while doing local multiplayer, but the moment the 2nd player gets added to the game it shows in the logs a lot of errors coming from Json Assets:

I removed all mods to see if it was causing the slow down, but even without mods the problem continued

I'm sorry for the late response, but those mods have been working fine for me. I updated a few other mods and that's when the problems started happening.
the stuck on saving issue is because you have a fishing trawler flag somewhere (inventory, chest, put up somewhere?) that cant be correctly saved, so saving fails
seed bag just throws an error, it's probably fine though

Ignore them. Immersive Shane has includes added dynamically that you lack the tokens for until the save is loaded. This is just a new warning from Smapi.
@rain lava Hello! Are you the one who does the medieval building retextures? I have a very minor cosmetic bug with the museum. It's cut in half essentially? One side is white, one side is green, I believe it's because I have the museum expansion mod. Where do I go to remove the asset for the museum in your mod? I absolutely love your mods, I just.. kinda want my museum to not be cut in half xD

Hello, having a weird bug with NPC Map Locations. The relevant errors are:

at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowInvalidOperationException(ExceptionResource resource)...
and then this just repeats forever:

There's more to the errors but I have a character limit here.

I had those errors too of NPC Map locations and I tried fixing it by removing some of the expansion mods but I'd rather play with the expansions then have a map with NPC's locations, so I dropped NPCmap. It's not getting updated anymore by Bouhm, so yeah

You have some out of date mods, and are missing the required mods for balance crystalarium. But I don't think those are the problem. Try updating anyway. And repost if still having issues.

if you can't figure it out, zip up all your mods and your save, send them to me, and tell me the fastest way to make the error happen
I had that too. It appeared after adding ChestEx for me. I already put a bug report to the mod author, they stated that ChestEx does not do anything to that part of the game so it must be a mod combination of that. I didn't find out myself what combination did it for me, since I have 700 mods at the moment and am too lazy to sift through for now.

Note that the item bags "update" is not a real update, it's a fork. So that one is un-updated intentionally.
I updated the multiple spouses and fixed the other dependency error as well.

When you say "completely delete", does that mean remove it, pass a day in game without it, and then re-add it? Or is it enough to just delete it then replace it?

fair... one cause of that error is old content in the NPC Map Locations folder, but that doesn't sound like your cause
So weird. Changing literally nothing, two loads in a row I got the error, now two loads in a row it's worked fine.

@tribal notch Reinstalled NPC map locations. the error seems to reoccur unpredictably. Loaded the game 11 times, and 4 times have gotten the error.
I doubt there's much more that can easily be done. Probably just keep reloading as necessary when I get the error.

Heyas, What needs to happen to trigger it these days? I have completed community centre, got the cinema and unlocked Ginger Island in year 2 and can use the boat, but no option for a ticket to mermaid island. I know it's installed as I do have Madam appearing as ??? in my Social tab. I remember it used to be a separate boat on the other pier but not there in current playthrough and read that is now uses the same boat that travels to Ginger Island. Only tickets for Ginger island appears.

Nope, we had a need for a hotfix and Hisame uploaded the mod, since she's the artist she wasn't aware that manifest needed to be updated, my version has some not yet not finished updates so I can't upload it yet unfortunately - I tried downgrading Nexus version but it didn't work

Well... if you use Adopt & Skin, you could probably use the sprite sheet as a horse skin (if it's the same format)

well, if it's SVE, you could turn the fence off in the config file. There are various fence mods that are current and work well...

Just go to Nexus put fence in the search box and it will give you lots of them... there's a really pretty one that has hedges, pergolas and arches over the gates if you want them
I currently have a map that only needs about 4 gates at bridges so haven't had a chance to use it
the thing is it works when I launch the game without SMAPI, the fence around the farm is a picket fence

why is there grass in my water :( i made a new farm with sve and this happened, is it because i had other map-changing mods i had to disable after i made the farm?
i probably explained that horribly but i had stardew reimagined and sve which caused an error because they both wanted to change the terrain, so i disabled reimagined and relaunched and it made grass in the water

you have to have portraiture installed and press p in a conversation to change between different portrait packs

Is this the right place to ask for help finding the sort of mods I'm looking for?
I've looked quite a bit on Nexus already and only found a couple things that are even remotely along the lines of what I want.
Basically I'm looking for mods that make the game more peaceful, ideally without making it easier.
The Better Quarry mods kind of help because they reduce the need to go into the Mine, but they're a bandaid at best. There are mods to cheat at combat but as far as I can tell you still get attacked and have to fight which is what I don't want. I don't want bats flying around my head screeching while I'm mining, even if they're not doing any damage. But on the contrary I wouldn't mind taking some automatic health damage as I go down (maybe the air is too thin or something).
TLDR; I'm looking for mods that minimize combat but provide ways to get items that normally are gated by combat.

Personally, I use the drone re-skinned to look like Navi and haven't tried Pacifist Valley, but I use a bunch of Aedenthorn's other mods, so I remembered seeing it on their profile.

Sigh. My only two major gripes about vanilla SDV--needs more content, and having to interact with an otherwise very out of place twitchy combat system to progress. At least the first one can be fixed by mods.

It's not the difficulty of the combat that causes me problems, it's the feel of it, you know? I want to be playing a relaxing town game, not a heart pounding dungeon delver. Oh well. I suspect if it was easy to mod it out, someone would have already done it by now, but I might do a peek just to verify that

If you really don't like the combat, there's an unofficial update to MURDERDRONE, and that will just end EVERYTHING for you.

Well in my head I guess I was thinking something like, first of all, all monsters are non-hostile unless you attack them first, and secondly any needed progression items that are gated behind monster drops have some alternate way to get them.
To keep the game from being too easy and to keep HP restoring items having a use, maybe add a mechanic such that the deeper you go into monster infested areas you lose HP automatically?
And for farming monster drop items maybe the monsters occasionally leave some behind them when they move?
Or maybe a full on monster ranching mechanic? I could see that going a number of ways really. But I understand that would be a large undertaking so I wasn't holding my breath on that one.
I'd be interested which items are actually gated behind monster drops... of course there's the Guild's monster slayer list
I mine by hopping on the tractor which makes me invincible, and the main reason I have to get off the tractor and kill things is that list
If I remember correctly some of the Community Center bundles need monster drops, but it's been a bit since I played last. The reason this came up is I was gearing up for my first play through in awhile and I decided to really personalize it via mods this time around
There are quite a number of mods that let you get monster loot and mine drops in other ways. Fantasy Crops, Arcane Table, etc.

I haven't tried either of them (I mine-dive a lot) but neither of them should be incompatible with those.

@inland fjord I can confirm that Eemie's Bees works so long as you have Custom Critters installed. All you do is make a new folder inside the Custom Critters folder, name it Critters, then unzip Eemie's Bees into it.

Have you looked at CJB Cheats as an option--you can make monsters harmless and kill them with impunity to get their loot, but still have your stamina wear down as you mine, so food is still necessary. And there's other ways this mod can make your gameplay more... relaxing 
Yeah there's a few cheat mods that can trivialize combat, and I might end up going that route but I was hoping to find something that removed combat altogether, and ideally replaced that with some other logical incentive not to take random day trips into the mine or other "dangerous" areas.

there's always MurderDrone... combat is still there, but you can practically stroll thru a mob while daydreaming about something else... let the drone take care of it
You can toggle it on and off if you feel like mixing it up on your own.

There is also the Magic mod, which is not a cheat per se, but makes it much easier to get through "sticky" spots

Yeah and that also might be the way I end up going. I'm still looking at options. I'm a tad ADD so I've got a number of tabs open, jumping between browsing still on Nexus hoping to find a sleeper No Combat mod, looking at mods that give other ways to get the items that come from combat zones, and looking at the wiki for how to mod the game in case I decide to give it a shot my own self

you probly can use them both, but not too sure why you would want to?? you could use Portraiture for custom NPCs and DSV for the game NPCs, I guess
ok... Portraiture is fairly easy, you just stick a folder into the Portraits section with the name of the character on it and put the portrait mod inside that
IIRC the problem is that DSV uses a lot of overlays and Portraiture doesn't like that.

I'd recommend uninstalling FeTK, and presumably you also use Tool Upgrade Delivery Service? Uninstall that too

alright! I think the issue ive run into is i downloaded a mod thats supposed to show what type of fruits/veggies the artisian products are from your inventory, and thats when i started to get this message, but i will try to delete it and use those mods instead and hope it helps, thanks!

not sure what all the grey text is about but it's debug so unless you're having problems then it's likely a non-issue and can be ignored

I'm not trying to make mods with the Producer Framework mod, I just want to use other mods that require it. How do I adjust the rules with it? When I load it, it causes the game to NOT consume materials when crafting, which I very much don't want

do you mean that PFM alone causes that, or that a content pack for it does it? in any case it's not normal @orchid pollen
I guess i hadn't tried removing the Vyranity's breads mod first, but I find it odd that that would be the issue
if it happens with just PFM installed, and removing PFM makes crafting work again normally, then you know it's not the content pack at least

I'm running a 9th Gen i7 3Ghz CPU with 16 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER with about 600 mods and my load time is between 10 and 15 minutes.
I feel like it's been a bit faster after updates this weekend, but I'd have to time it tomorrow to be sure.

May be worth noting I'm running 64-bit. I had less mods running 32-bit and it was jumpy as hell and crashed when saving half the time - guaranteed crash if I did more than about 20 levels in Skull Cavern.
Also, carefully. I've been adding mods slowly for about two weeks to figure out incompatibility issues, etc. Today's the first actual in-game day I've played for a non-test save since I switched to 64-bit (for the record, finding 75 NPCs is a Pita).

I would imagine launch options could work, since it's not much different than changing it to run the smapi exe
yeah, it usually works, but in my case for some reason it resulted in baffling nonsense with the SMAPI keyboard API
and while a second data point of that nonsense would be great for pathos and uhh the 64-bit-patch person it's not great as a player
hehe, I know that feeling, my first time trying the 64 bit client hardlocked my pc :p something with how mono wants exclusive access in fullscreen(default sdv option) and me already having dx programs running

I just set CJB to freeze time inside.
I also use CJB, but it can be flaky in multi-player.
Does it freeze time for everyone who isn't inside aswell ?
off the top of my head there's timespeed for general time stuff and multiplayer time to pause the time if everyone's stuck in a cutscene
I've always used Time Speed with the default rate changed from 7s:10min to 12s:10min
I'm looking at Time Speed but I was confused on how to set the speed
I play mostly solo, but in my limited mp experience as host, yes it also froze time for my farmhand.
Though I don't think it froze the if they went into a building.

You can set the default time in the config file, which is in the mod's folder after you've launched the game, or you can use Generic Mod Config Menu to change it ingame
I still want time to keep moving but the default time the game has it set on is just way too fast

I haven't played multiplayer, but they'd likely need the mod. Also the elevator would reflect their progress through the cavern, not yours.

well, I can confirm that running 64bit from launch options does work.. it also bluescreened my machine :p

smapi loaded fine, it got all the way to where the game client would actually start loading grahically before it game me a an irq/driver fault bluescreen

speaking of which, giving it one more try on this fresh reboot, which means I will probably be rebooting again here in a minute :p
the general rule is that everyone should have the same mods. exceptions are recolours/portraits/dialogue. things that can be loaded by only one person without effecting the game.
