The out of memory also depends on the type of mods. I have over 430 mods and don't get it.
It only really started popping up around the release of the latest update

What do you see when you right click it? You should have that, you were just in WinRAR

i just had a quick question about 64 bit - is it faster than running the game on 32-bit?
I've got around 300 mods and the game is VERY stuttery, so i'm considering transitioning to 64-bit but wasn't sure if it'd be worth it...
It's not faster in running but it'll use more of your ram to actually run the game

Yes and no. It won't load faster, but it will have more overhead once everything is loaded.

Me and two friends are playing with some mods including the PPJA Mega Pack and Artisan Valley, and we've had issues with it before but I can't seem to find the issue this time, all of us are seeing crops as different things but all of our logs match

To elaborate: did you add or remove JA mods on an existing save? If so, that can cause the IDs to scramble
No, we started a new save and everyone wiped their mod folders and we started from scratch

Windryx, what corrin and I are describing is different from the item turned to something else for everyone. That would be a proper JA item ID scramble, in which the item was rose for everyone before, then suddenly it became soybean butter for everyone

It's hard to find a recolor mod that doesn't desaturate the colors, but some of my favorites are DaisyNiko's Earthy Recolour, Stardew Foliage Redone (I think Foliage Only is the only version still up), Darker Dirt and Cliffs, and Better Water.
For building recolors you have a ton of options! To a few, name Elle's Seasonal Buildings have a vanilla flavor to them, and they're only for the farm. For a very different aesthetic you can go with Medieval Buildings, and pair with Way Back Pelican Town or Flower Valley. Both Way Back Pelican Town and Flower Vallet change the town buildings.
All the mods above can be found on Nexus Mods.
For the NPCs themselves, I highly recommend Diverse Stardew, available on ModDrop. It adds seasonal outfits for all the NPCs, and has the option to leave them looking vanilla with seasonal outfits, or diversified with seasonal outfits. It's highly configurable, too!
That's an issue the mod author would need to fix. Have you checked the mod description and comments to see if someone has posted how to fix it?
They have posted an update for it. I'll check to see if it works.

i don't know if this is because of a mod or not because there's been so many different error messages (with different mod names in brackets), but there's been an issue where we can't go to the forest sometimes because it gets stuck on a loading screen, any tips?

@dire fractal i think you maybe have both files from aqua's hairs installed? i'm not sure it will work. the separated hair pack also says this 1.5 over rid some hair styles. So I've separated the hair mod into 4 parts. Please only have 2 parts at a time to prevent the ones you may want to use from being over ridden! Delete the hair styles you're not interested in or copy paste em somewhere else.

@rugged fiber @dire fractal That seems like the standard out-of-memory exception which can happen when installing a large number of content mods in 32-bit mode. I'd suggest 64-bit as a workaround, but seems you already did that!

so i just did a fresh install of sd64 and newest smapi then tried to launch and some mods are still throwing this error: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Stardew Valley' or one of its dependencies. @dusk forge That's a bug in those mods (they use Harmony attributes which SMAPI can't rewrite). You can report it on those mod pages so the authors can look into it.

Tech problem: I have a MacBook and I connected it to a tv monitor via HDMI and an adapter for the thunderbolt. Stardew will not launch at all. SMAPI runs everything like normal but the game just doesnโt respond and for quits. Help?

you see the rice sprite is just to the left of cauliflowers

GMCM just makes it easier to change mod configs, i don't think that any mods have a hard dependency on it-ie they won't break if you remove it

must have been a lot of work for smapi to get compatible with that version of the game
There were a few changes needed for 64-bit support, but preparing SMAPI itself was pretty easy once the patcher was all working. Updating for Stardew Valley 1.3 (multiplayer) and 1.5 (split-screen) was a lot more work.
So 64-bit was a bit of shuffling memory addresses around?

The unofficial 64-bit Stardew Valley uses the Linux + MonoGame version on Windows, so a lot of the work was reworking SMAPI to support that (since normally the Windows version uses XNA). I don't see anything out of place in the log, so we might need some trial and error. Does the freeze still happen if you temporarily remove all mods (except SMAPI and Error Handler)? If not try re-adding your mods a few at a time (starting with the framework mods) and see if you can narrow down which specific mod(s) make it start happening again.

So i have a mod menu on my game and when I use Elle's seasonal building menu, it somehow appear in a way that it's so low that the bottom part where the cancel, save and save & exit buttons are cropped by the screen, how do I fix that??

in the original at least the area and the surroundings of the rainbow tree were used for spawning various forage, and the rainbow tree didn't do anything as far i know. if there was anything else related to them i didn't encounter it (or maybe forgot it)

maybe some of your mods don't work well with other mods
that's mostly the case for recolor or texture packs
some just don't sit well with each other

Try installing SMAPI then. SMAPI records logs on every game errors not just those caused by SMAPI mods.
because without logs, there is no way for us here to know what went wrong, and we can give you no other advise but "reinstall your game and stop using XNB mods"

seems like XNB mod alrite. I strongly suggest to find a SMAPI / Content Patcher version of the mod. Or you can ask people in #making-mods-general to convert it to a personal SMAPI/CP mod for you only
farmer to florist is on nexus though
The problem with XNB mods is that they are usually fragile; say it's made for SDV 1.5.1, it might break in SDV 1.5.4
SMAPI/CP mods are more robust, and when they break, it's easily traceable and fixable.

(sometimes it works. sometimes it doesn't. usually exiting the game and reopening that save will make it glitch but sometimes watering dry should-be-counted-as-near-water paddy crops fixes it for those crops and usually it doesnt)

you can use the mod, but they neglected to put in an "all over" folder, so that it's parts are scattered through your mod list & SMAPI doesn't read it as a complete mod. Make your own folder and unzip the download into that.
It also has a couple of content pacther errors where maybe the author left out a couple of assests?

it seems to show the basic scarecrow area for deluxe scarecrow, the radius of the area is double on it in reality (16 tiles). i haven't tested it but it might've been fixed in ui info suite 2 (in case you're not using that version)

There are two errors: one with Buildable Forge, and the other with Vintage Interface Multipack. Both are a bug in the mod code, so I suggest reporting them on those mods' pages so their authors can look into it.

Okay, good. Now you can move your mods into the new Mod folder (not including the SMAPI ones that are already in there, which should be Error Handler, Command Console, and Save Backup.)

You can launch it however you normally run the game with mods. If you get more errors, post a new log.

I don't know that the SVE errors are causing the child errors, I have no idea why they would, but I can't rule it out either. My thought would be to get an older version of SVE, something inbetween what your last saved used and the most recent version, and see if that generates the same errors.
I need some help with characters in SVE. I have a new save, Day 1 Spring. Gus and Sebastian aren't loading. I have NPCLocations and it shows them inside the house/Saloon respectively.

Looks like Save Anywhere is what's throwing the error. I would get rid of it altogether because it can break your save.
i'd try removing save anywhere first. it has compatibility problems with SVE anyway @lunar lynx
FYI, you can delete the string of numbers in the folder name - that was probably what was throwing the 'name too long' error from before.
ANyway, install the Preconditions Utility and delete the old SMAPI folders and then try again, post a log if it's still wonky.

Okay, I would try asking on SVE's discord if you're in there, since this seems to be a SVE-specific error with their NPCs. They may have an older version or a better idea to fix it.

SVE does do a lot of things in a nonstandard fashion, though I'm not sure it's enough to drive Demetrius up the wall ๐

hello everyone, i need some help with my modding setup. Ever since this morning, my game has been crashing consistently when going to sleep - the log below was me simply loading up the game and then immediately going to sleep, with SMAPI spitting out a wall of errors and ultimately crashing.
Since i saw that i had an error earlier that read something along the lines of "cannot access file because another program is using it" and had a new virus definition update from windows just right before these errors started happening, I figured excluding it from my antivirus would help - which it partially did, with that particular error not happening this time around. Still, it's crashing like this. Can anybody help me on any next steps?

if they are mods that normally go into your Mods folder, they can be organized like that in subfolders as long as you don't nest one mod inside another mod @dire fractal
Hm, I'm not sure what's throwing the error, it's not very specific. Someone who is smarter than me may have a better idea, but my best suggestion would be to try disabling half your (non-framework) mods and see if you still get the error, then add mods back until it happens again. Could also try updating the two mods that are out of date since those may be bugfixes.

(Child to NPC, even with the unofficial update, is very temperamental, so it's not recommended.)

yes, if you delete the launch options it will launch the regular StardewValley.exe

They do work mostly! Just make sure all players have exactly same and coop compatible mods and you shouldn't experience any errors/issues
