I believe Space and ParadigmNomad, who also left the scene recently, just said that they were growing tired of Stardew modding. Pathos is looking after their mods on the basic level, there just won't be huge content updates anymore.
Look up Anything and UI Info Suite Unofficial Update should have the exact values... I perfer Look Up Anything for friendship related things and UI for warnings or reminders

Oh that parts easy. just go to smapi.io and hit download. Then unzip and click the nessesary file then it should just install honestly

The seasonal is smaller overall but has more tree slots with the Raffadax expansion. I have Greenhouse Gatherers and Expanded Storage and it still maxes out some days XD

Okay, I still don't get the SMAPI error (Pathos might have some insight) but I can tell why your CJB mods aren't showing up - they're not unzipped.
You can't drop the zip file directly in the mods folder, you need to unzip it to the mods folder.
@tired brook Any idea why this android SMAPI would think it's on 3.7.5 while the Save Backup and Command Console are on 3.7.6? User says they've downloaded 3.7.6 and installed multiple times.

If it was updated earlier this year, but the mod author didn't see reason to update the main file from 2019, it's most likely because the file still works fine!

"Porting" is when you take a mod from one place and "port" it to another, making it compatible with another system, website, version, etc.
So porting from Naver would mean taking Naver mods (which are often xnb mods, as far as I know?) and putting them on Nexus while also sometimes porting/converting them to use Content patcher.

actually, nevermind, it was because i forgot that i'd removed the custom music mod from my folder when testing the mod config menu
still getting the crashing when they're both installed
will removing custom music cause any issues? i have SVE installed so i'm assuming that's a thing it definitely uses
sort of need the mod menu for a few other things
SVE has custom music as a required dependency so at minimum you'd need to edit the manifest.json of SVE content patcher part to remove it. but then the tracks that SVE adds will be missing and i don't know if the game can crash when it references them and they don't exist

i thought this issue was fixed but apparently not :/ but yea SVE needs custom music, so you'd need to pick between SVE or the mod menu
if i remove the mod menu, a few different mods i have won't work that i'd need to remove in order to take it out

i dont think any mods heavily require the mod menu though? it's always an optional thing since you can just change what you need from the config in the mods folder

spacechase has left the modding community, plus its most likely a known issue (if you check the posts on both mods on nexus)
so i'd say just wait around for a fix/update from either side

is grampleton completed now? i had and was using a much older version of the grampleton map, and going into the folder there's now a "grampleton_small.tbin" file instead of the normal one, and it's 60kb instead of 600 lmao

SMAPI spits out out of memory errors
OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. Installing 64-bit didn't uninstall 32-bit, so... yes?
on the wiki, it says this: Make sure you run StardewModdingAPI.exe, not StardewValley.exe. The 64-bit version of the game won't work without SMAPI.
if that's the case, i guess you could play it unmodded by removing all mods from the mods folder?

Yeah, you can just play 32-bit for unmodded since it's not like you need 64-bit for vanilla anyway.

hey everyone! question -- for a while I was playing stardew with a couple mods, but they broke my game (to be fair, I'm pretty sure it was my fault -- I think i improperly uninstalled one of them and that messed with my saves) and i had to do a clean install (and lost hundreds of hours worth of farm ;;-;;). I've been enjoying vanilla again, but with the recent SVE update i've been tempted to get back into using mods. I am, though, really worried about losing my current farm... how would you guys recommend going about uninstalling/re-installing mods and smapi in a way that's safe?

@sage jetty remember that some mod frameworks will invalidate your save if you try to uninstall them, making the game unable to use your save properly and possibly corrupting it if you try to
you can always have a backup of your save from before you installed mods. or use a separate save for your modded playthrough
also, if you have trouble installing, ask here, we can always help π
or if they break your game

so always remember to only install them if you're fine with always needing them, and remember never to open any save that needs them, without them
most mods should be removable
opening saves accidentally with mods doesnt matter, as long as you dont save (sleep)

have you tried using minimal mod setup to see when it breaks? it's easier to debug then
I only have 10 mods that the funny thing~
the issue seems to be a non existant springobjects
so not really a mod issue probably
if the reset was a success then that shouldn't be it. although i guess an antivirus or similar program could be doing something to cause it
but say that the problem is that the file is missing or not accessible to the game, it's still easier to find out why if it's confirmed with a minimal mod setup, say with only smapi install + the mods that smapi installs (springobjects being missing would cause a lot of problems regardless of mods i'm pretty sure at least if you load a save, so it would probably show on the log)

hm, i guess the easiest way to test it would be to rename the Mods folder (so smapi doesn't find it), load the game with smapi and make a new save if it doesn't crash before that. or remove all mods from the Mods folder except ErrorHandler and ConsoleCommands

i have heard of vortex doing things like this in the past, like somehow getting rid of vanilla files--if you still can't figure it out i'd recommend getting rid of vortex and installing manually

Don't worry about saves. SDV supports Steam CloudSave and your saves should've been backed up by Steam

this issue with "As Administrator" is why I never install games under C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)
I always install them to C:\Games; Steam gets installed to C:\Games\Steam

If you downloaded through Steam, it should be under C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common. That's where it is for me, at least.

Looks like you took the mods from your vortex folder and plopped them in? I know someone who did that before and SMAPI didn't like that. I'd take note of what mods you have there and redownload them again

That's what i do and it works fine, SVE installs flawlessly using vortex. Most people get confused by the requirements list on nexus however and also download the 3 mods already bundled with SVE π

Hello hello! I pop in from time to time when I have questions.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to manage SDV mods. Also after that, a way to migrate my currently installed mods to the manager for easier updating. I tend to play in short bursts and when I come back there are 20-30 mods that need updating. Doing all this manually every time is very time consuming, so I was looking for easier methods

Generally we don't recommend using managers like Vortex, apparently they can be a bit finicky when it comes to Stardew mods. I've always done manual though, so I don't have much personal experience.
I've heard ModDrop is better than Vortex? Maybe?
Oh.. well that makes me a little sad.
If the game runs fine for you and the new mods don't have anything you want, it's just fine to run the game un-updated, though.
Well stardew auto updates and breaks things. So I tend to keep mods current to avoid crashes.
