Hi all! I'm new to the discord (thx for the invite, FlashShifter!) but not new to the dew, I've been playing ever since it came out and have slowly but surely been adding new mods...but Marigold from DSV is not playing well with SVE and I'm not sure how to get them to play nice; I tried to simply turn Marigold off in the personalization settings of DSV but since I've already met her, her data is in the game and seems to be messing things up...anyone have any advice? In a few cases, I've had dsv not loaded into my game for some reason. Then I just remove the folder and add it back to my mods folder lololol
I'm not sure if Marigold will be removed from the game save upon loading your save. But see if you can play through a day and see what happens on the next (because it's after the day marigold was removed from the game)
I will try. The issue right now has been that I play through one day with no issues but canβt start the next day, thatβs where the error log was coming in

No it shouldn't unless they have the same item ID, which is possible
adding JA mods on an existing save is a little risky because it could cause a json shuffle, so if youre willing to risk it go ahead!

They usually don't interact in any way that throws things off like this, and from what I could tell it looked like the game itself was having an issue (bear in mind i don't know much about this at all)

And no, it won't affect your shipping data. The items that are vulnerable are typically those that are not fixed yet (e.g, items in machines.)
once it's shipped, the items themselves no longer exist, thus are not vulnerable to shuffle

So json shuffle is completely avoidable by not adding more crop mods.
By not adding, removing, or doing any updates which do either of the two.
so don't touch the mods
and it's anything that adds JA items, so things like custom artisan goods, craftables, even hats and fences.
Alternately, if you don't have any (modded) items in machines and don't have any colored items (i.e., multicolored flowers) you likely won't be affected when adding new items.
what about giant crops?
youre dealing with the System.OutOfMemoryException issue! since you have a large number of mods, it uses up a lot of memory, which causes lag or sometimes crashes
Vanilla items are never affected. Modded giant crops? I'm not sure, actually.
you can either migrate to 64-bit (pinned message in #making-mods-general) or play only a few days in-game at a time :)

Thinking about it, I think giant crops must be safe, as I had some modded ones I busted up after almost a full year in-game and I didn't have any issues with them. I would've had a ton of shuffles between when they spawned and when I busted them up.

Probably because they're using whatever crops in general use to fix their IDs, which also appears to be immune.

Shouldn't, no.
On my computer I find you can run about 200 mods without 64. Maximum map expansion mods is about 3 if one of them is SVE. You can get away with quite a lot of texture mods if there's just CP mods and not additional JA items.
And On top of SVE and another map expansion mod with its own NPCs I can usually only add 1 more custom NPC

On my setup with about 100 mods I can usually go about 2 weeks ingame without a memory error, with the rare one that happens earlier if I've been visiting a lot of different maps in one run

host is just zipping the save file into a folder -- its also like midnight for both of us so we are gonna call it here, but i can still send the file to you!
after deleting boots, the host couldn't get into the save at all, andwas getting hella red text, trying to open the save kept looping her back to the title screen
so because she couldnt get into the server, i couldnt test to see if it worked

DaisyNiko's Earthy Recolour is a somewhat difference... Stardew Foliage Redone - Foliage Only is more drastic, may be up your alley, may not.
(I just wanted the maples changed)
In every season except spring, the maples fade into the grasses

If you're more technically minded... Essentially what it does is uses the guts of the linux version to run on windows because the linux version uses monogame for its framework, which has 64-bit support, while the native windows version uses the Xna framework, which has no 64 bit version.

Static trees and bushes I believe are the decorative trees that the player can't chop down.
So trees in Pelican Town would be considered static. But don't quote me on that.

I run LFL too, mainly for the sprites, tho... the dialogue doesn't change whole bunches from when they were "untouchable"
You can always add your own "xtra dialogue" if you really want character depth.
It would, of course remain a personal mod of a mod... unless you seriously get into writing dialogue and want to confab with the current LFL keepers
The problem with writing dialogue for your own characters (I find, at least) is that then you always know what they will say.... kind of puts a whammy on any surprises

So... if for instance I just wanted to change the maple trees in a recolor mod, I was thinking of just changing the maple trees in the tile sheets
that would work, although you would have to redo it every time you updated the mod
you can replace the asset without code changes if you're just wanting to change it, but if you're wanting to disable a change the mod did, for example, you would need to comment out the relevant block in content.json π

I'd confirm you installed SMAPI, set Steam launch options, and launched the game through SMAPI. That error means that SMAPI hasn't been run properly, or that it wasn't installed properly

SVE takes the original Marlon and Morris and makes them invisible, then creates clones with slightly new names.

- Don't accomodate the new emotion slots these characters' portraits recieved
- Likely doesn't have portraits for the new NPCs SVE adds, so you're gonna have to deal with an inconsistant artstyle

Out of curiosity, wondering if its just me; does it take awhile 'finding saved games' (like 12 seconds instead of 1) when you have SpaceCore installed? Its a required mod for some stuff, like Stardew Expanded and I don't really mind, but I always thought it was odd. This happened on multiple installs and goes away if I remove SpaceCore so clearly its tied to it somehow.
