@bright ocean hi i downloaded your hairstyle mod and its in my mod file, im new to using it in stardew and was wondering how i can change? not sure if i've done smth wrong cos my default hair is currently still there

you're missing custom npc fixes and custom music. i believe they come with the SVE download

they might not be listed in the nexus requirements for example because it supplies them in the download

The patch summary full command is from Content Patcher (CP). If they don't have CP, there's nothing to run that command.

Our community center has a lot of glitches, some bundles that you have to donate 4 items for instance only have 2 spots, some that you need to donate 4 and have 6 spots, looks like there’s an error with one mod, I don’t know if that made the save to corrupt
This is the log we got today, but someone asked me to get the full log, it’s weird because it says empty folder but we were able to put the 5th player, we’re on fall year one, it’s the second save we run and both has CC glitches

@spring ether Depending on which version, you either can change it via the ||Wizard's shrine||/Customize Anywhere menu or with the GG dresser. Some farmhouse mods also include a way to change that stuff as well

I know this is probably a super dumb question but I just want some confirmation. I normally use vortex to download my mods however there's one i have to download manually. So would i just download the mod and then move it over to the mods folder? Do i need to unzip the file or anything after its done? Sorry im just really new to mods still and i don't want to mess anything up lol

I have a question for anyone who's familiar with PPJA Artisan mods. It's Stardew Valley Fair time, and I was curious if the items added by the mod, such as the candles and soaps, are even seen by the game when it comes to the grange display? I would like to use some of these items, but something tells me they will be ignored.

I hope someone can help; I'm getting really frustrated. Totally fresh install of everything. Manually (no mod manager). The game loads fine, but when I create a character and start, it goes nuts. Also, but not that important is that it doesn't skip the intro. Here's my log.

it looks like the point of that mod is to change the portraits as well though, not just a coding mistake
it changes the portraits based on sprite selection and wont let portraiture swap portraits out
yeah i dunno they seem fundamentally incompatible considering what this one does
i dont know anything and this is a total shot in the dark, but if portraiture came first in the mod list would it override this mod's portraits?
there is no mod list, i only use smapi
but in your mods folder the mods are in order alphabetically
smapi loads them in that order
i even edited the content.json of change dialogues and removed all the portrait references
ive seen a few mods use little cheats to add Zs to the beginning or As to change their position in the list
i'll add something to portraiture and find out
because im pretty sure whatever loads first has priority? or was it loads second....

last resort you could leave a post on the mod page asking if he would be able to separate the dialogue changes and portrait stuff

it should let you toggle a lot of things, i dont use it so im not sure, but they generally handle every flag
i've wasted enough hours trying to get portraiture to work with other mods.
literally any mod that loads a portrait will ignore portraiture entirely and im just getting angry. time to give up.

we don't really recommend using save editors. that one has caused people all kinds of problems and may corrupt your save
you can simply use debug commands in the SMAPI console. debug divorce Penny, do that for each spouse you no longer want

you can also get the mod Chat Commands, which lets you type them in chat if you start with a /
fucking finally... ok. so if you delete all portrait references in the invatorz dialogue changes mod, it'll actually let you use portraiture

I saw you got it to work. What was the problem? When you choose HighRes on, the portrait is AlexFemaleHighRes.png and the sprite will be AlexFemale.png. I didn't separated the Sprite from Portraits, but I can separate them. I done so to have less configurations, but if it's necessary, I will add them
i switched to another mod
and then deleted the portrait references from that mod
your mod, even with all the portrait mentions in the content.json deleted still loaded its own images, even with portraits folder deleted

i should also point out your mod seems to be missing some morris sprites, the current 1.5 added a few

but any starter guide would be nice
Usual advice is find another mod that does approximately what you want and use that as your base. 🙂

With json assets you can add a new hat witout any c# coding. Just simple .json

Hi all, my family and I just downloaded stardew valley, and we're hoping to put a black labrador in the game, similar to our dog. We grabbed this one: https://community.playstarbound.com/threads/dog-black-labrador.116608/ and I put the unzipped folder in steamapps/common/Stardew Valley/Mods/ but can't see the lab when we choose starting pet. Any help possible?
I know the default dog is probably a lab but id really love a black lab to match my irl lab, pepper!

If it's a portrait or an animal skin, you can use Portraiture or Adopt 'n' Skin to load them, however! 😄

Just working through everything I've read, on the multiplayer page for mods, it says :

The number thing is related to numbers and array indexing.
Nothing you want to have to worry about.
It means you can have different mods that only change how the game looks, for example, recolours. However, if a mod adds new hairstyles instead of replacing the existing ones, then everyone needs that mod

Hey guys... recently I bought the Junimo chests and I am using automate... and it works well when i go to the mines f.e. and place coal and copper into it, so it processes it to bars at home on my farm and places them in a normal chest nearby and not back into my junimo chest to clean up my inventory... is there a way to "suck all items" down from my junimo chest like... in another chest standing nearby without needing it to be "processed"? Is there a mod for this or something? Any ideas?
i think it acts like an mc ender chest (inventory per player) so i dont think automate can do it currently (i assume you mean move the items from it to a furnace or normal chest, right)
it actually moves the things to a furnace (thanks to automate mod) and then into a "regular" chest standing on the other side of the furnace(s) so the junimo chest is empty. But actually, i don't want the things needed to be processes (into bars) i simply want to deliver f.e. all my coal to the farm without it breaking down into bars or sth.
so yeah move it ot a normal chest

I have that, and it does save a bit of time (assuming the mod can be loaded into the game at all, otherwise it doesn't see it)
I have 770 mods and I do it all manually. I really don't recommend Vortex, since I see far too many people coming in here with errors that are summed up to "Vortex buggered the mods"

I have a question about custom farm maps. If I take a map that was made to replace the forest map, and set it to the river map, will it cause any problems?
not necessarily, but sometimes map mods have other components that check if you have the intended farm before they apply their effects. other mods can do the same, like maybe SVE has checks for both if you use one of their custom farms and if you're using the intended farm in their main mod
Okay. It's more that the mods I have found for the riverland don't have much space. Which I get is part of the idea of that map. But I probably have over 100 fruit trees now and need more space. xD So was going to set a non-riverland map as one.

Okay. First you need to make the script inside executable since many distros don´t allow you to run it right away.
Navigate to your SMAPI folder with a terminal and type in chmod +x 'install on Linux.sh'

Hello, I have a problem with the PPJA mods, the crops one. When I plant certain mod items instead of harvesting the item I harvest the seeds. Any way I can fix it?

Does it only lag when using mods then you said? I'd try, if you haven't already, 50/50 your mods until you find where the lagging starts. Might have been a mod update or something along those lines? 🤔
i updated a lot of my mods because when i updated my 32 bit smapi i had compatibility issues
i have gone through my mods folder several times. deleting some, testing the game and so on. no change. do you think the save i'm using is broken?
Have you tried a new save? I know in one of my saves I'd get terrible lag spike to the point where i couldn't move by my greenhouse but had no such problems in a new save
so... I just ran SV n updated everything it said I needed to...
And it works fine, except for PyTK and TMXL Map Toolkit

other mods can also start to lag the game only at later point in the game. like i had lag with a mod that replaced the tractor sounds only after i acquired the tractor

Im also using Teh's Fishing Overhaul so maybe there's an issue with the mod

Someone who knows better may come in behind and correct me, but to be on the safe side, it would be wise to delete and redownload since many things have changed in the modding community recently. It might be a lot of work, but it will save you a lot of grief and hair pulling and gnashing of teeth later. It's what I would do.

I've found one way to stop it, mostly
If you have any non-vanilla flowers, then use CJB item spawn to keep them all one color. Having multiple colors seems to cause the shuffle, or at least some of it. Every since I started using item spawner to keep the flowers all the same color I haven't had shuffle issues.
everything wisteria is now cucumber
I have started doing that for my storage, Flowers, omg... so yeah, I do one from the spawner and stack them onto that now, keeps things under control

Night Owl and sleepless do the same thing, except Night Owl does it a bit prettier and is a bit more maintained. 🙂
it might have been updated recently, last i saw it wasn't working in 1.5 but i don't use it so idk
