For the NPCs this mod fixes it until 1.2.8 is released
In 1.2.8 we handle it in-house but our in-house will be disabled if Yagi's mod is installed.

Is Longevity compatible with SVE? Author disabled comments so can't ask.
I'd say no, simply because Longevity compatibility with other mods is tough. It's an XNB mod with a SMAPI component. We do have alternatives to Longevity we recommend though

So I tried to install Ferngill Revenue Service 1.1.5, however SMAPI is telling me it crashed, the errors is telling me the mod is missing a data.json file. I looked in the mod folder and yup the mod is missing its data.json file. I noticed that the Ferngill Revenue Service 1.1.4 has its data.json so I put that into 1.1.5 and that seemed to have worked. However, I am not keen an adding a file from a previous version to a newer version of a mod. So was wondering if anyone had been in the same situation or have found a better way or something?

Hello, my SMAPI cannot delve deep into Stardew Valley Expanded and discover all the nested mods that are part of the original zip file. Keeps saying the manifest.json isn't there, but it is if SMAPI looked deeper in the nested folders. I didn't mess with the nested folders and unzipped the downloaded folders as is.

did you move the items out of the zip or did you extract them likely making another folder
I found the fix
I colour my folders using a piece of software
That software inserts a hidden file into my folder screwing up SMAPIs ability to dive into the folders
It is called FolderIco and puts in an icon file and a desktop.ini file into each coloured folder
Great way to organize your icons, but bad for SMAPI

hey, has anyone ever had an issue where their player character seemed to be locked to a specific default skin color or something despite having mods which override or offer a different set of skin tones? i'm trying to check over the sprite sheets myself for the base character sprite sheets right now but i have a screenshot here at least showing how the hands are the selected skin tone from the mod i'm using (starkissed skin tones) whereas the face is. stuck
(update: doesn't seem to be an issue stemming from the farmer base sprite sheets after i put the vanilla xnb file in for the base and still got the same issue. testing to see how things go on a new save file regarding the issue)
i'm gonna try and figure most of it out myself but if anyone's had a similar problem and solved it please lmk !!
from what i found so far, when changing into the bath outfit the sprite also seems to match the default vanilla skin tone as well and not the skin options from the mod i'm using so i'll probably try and go over and compare the vanilla sprite sheet to the one i edited
I wrote a little mod, that allows you to look up events by character or id via console, so you can check which heart events you've already seen/not seen and how to trigger them.
It also has a "list all events I can see today" function, so you dont miss any

oh I had a problem like that!
my problem was that Get Glam wasn't letting the body mod work properly, so the skins would go completely bonk, so I had to take it out and use Cotumize Anywhere instead 
You can replace the Get Glam body assets with the one you're using to get around that. At least, that's what I did
but if ut not using Get Glam, then maybe is that u r using xnb mods, if I understood correctly 
i DID actually have Get Glam installed, although i uninstalled the mod about an hour ago. i tried to see how things worked on an entirely new save file but ended up with the same issue, and even when i used the vanilla xnb file for the female farmer sprite it still had the same issue. might try and see if i have any other mods that affect the skin or body assets somehow ...
i'm currently using a korean mod from naver to override the body assets for the female farmer base, and it was around the time i installed it that this issue came up although i think i was already struggling with the issue even before i got that mod installed while i kept flipping back and forth between using and then later ended up removing the "more elegant female farmer" mod

all of it under GOG
since you don't have steam
Open Notepad and paste in the following: start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" If Stardew Valley and SMAPI are not installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Stardew Valley, (the default location for most people), replace that location with the location of where you installed Stardew Valley.
Click on File, then Save As...
Navigate to your Stardew Valley installation folder and change the file type from Text Documents to All Files as shown below and then click Save.

To get the text you need, you need to reinstall SMAPI. This guide has screenshots
once you have it open it'll have a location it's in. copy it from the first " to the last %
every last bit of that needs copied. that is what you put in your launcher on steam

hi guys! ive ran into an issue with cracking open my golden coconuts. when some crack open, nothing comes out. when i first had this issue, in my smapi log it was labeled as a fast animations issue. so i took fast animations out. then tried to get my golden coconuts cracked again and i had the same issue where nothing would come out. so it seems to not be a fast animations issue? but i wasnt able to snatch my smapi log from when i tried it without fast animations. ANYWAYS ill attach the smapi log where it names fast animations as the issue. ill be trying it again without the mod and snatch up my smapi log when it happens again. but i wanted to see if anyones had this experience before? heres the log https://smapi.io/log/e8e2de1e81904bb19cfde83690aee1f3

I have a weird question. I noticed when logging into my friend's farm there was an error wall saying something about my player file. I didn't think anything of it but then I noticed I had my inventory from a few days prior. I had mail in the mailbox but when I tried to read it, the letter disappeared (it was the prismatic jelly completion ;-;) and I noticed another, much longer error wall. I've tried relogging and it still does this for the mail but no longer does the player file error upon entering. Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?

This was the one after I relogged, it doesn't have that weird player file error in it though.
I'm willing to ask the host to just delete me and I can restart but that was a bit of a last resort request.

@fiery adder If you want to try restoring an older save, go to your Appdata/Roaming/StardewValley/Saves folder, and replace it with one of the folders from SMAPI's save backups folder. (Make sure to extract the save folder you want to replace your save with.)

Since you don't have a lot of mods, one of the things I can suggest is the 50/50 method. Load half of your existing mods (you can prevent smapi from loading a mod by adding a period . at the start of its name) and load up the game again. If the frog is still there, you know the affecting mod is still getting loaded

Found it, is indeed A Wittily Named Recolor... I think from looking at the content.json it's attempting to overlay a dig spot...? I'm not super familiar with json assets quite yet. π
(so i'm probably incorrect) but it is at least indeed that mod and something being overlaid incorrectly. π

smapi always generates a lot, regardless of if there are errors or not.
https://smapi.io/log will tell you where to find it and how to upload it. In your case, since you are not crashing, you are looking for the SMAPI-latest.txt file

I just want to know how to deal with multiple mods loading multiple assets
From what i understand of portraits, only one mod can load a portrait at a time, so you'd either need to see compatibility added between those mods in some form, or modify the mod yourself so that there's no overlapping portraits attempting to be loaded. And if neither of those are an option, you'll just have to only use whichever you like most.
Someone can feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, though. π

my wizard portrait mod is one prime example of a cp limitation
if it is the same asset, usually there are some mods that can be closed off by config
nayrie's portraits has that function when sve got involved

Vortex does staging. It's a common practice in mod managers. Basically it unpacks them to a certain location to have a 'pristine' version, and then you 'deploy' those staged mods to the mod folder.

I use vortex, it's useful with very large groups of mods, however it can be finicky and is hard to understand/use in some aspects.

rikai, do you use portraiture? I checked the instructions and it looks like it'll ask me to put the portraits of the characters there. should I disable the anime mods and just manually drop it's portraits on the portraiture mod?

remove the anime mod, and place the entire mod into that portrait folder, just make sure it is not cp version

I solved most of the things giving out actual errors. Either by reporting them as 64-bit incompatible, removing them because they're broken or updating them myself. Was really cool to learn how to fix the code, and see it working for the one mod i fixed. π
I can't really fix codes, but I can troubleshoot most common problems at least
see if any thing clashes, then check the config notepad, delete if needed to
