Would anyone be willing to take a look at my 300+ modlist๐ and see if theres anything specific that might reliably make the game unstable? That and/or help me out with system.outofmemoryexception errors happening semi randomly? It seems to happen reliably the second time going a few levels in to the mines.
I have 8gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, and an i5 8300H @ 2.30GHz in this laptop. Is that not adequate for this many heavy mods?

I've been working on these mods for a couple weeks and have them to a point where it's only intermittent issues. Also have made sure to keep everything updated, any update alerts in smapi are incorrect.

Out of memory is because SV on windows is 32-bit and hardlocked into ~3gb of memory. So for out of memory errors you'd have to try out the 64-bit of SMAPI which is in the pins of #making-mods-general
part of it is that you have 2 big expansion mods (SVE and Ridgeside Village), as well as a ton of mods in general. Like Red said, you're locked into ~3 GB of memory, and those huge mods take up a lot of resources. I had to reduce my load order to make my game more stable.
Is there any way to link gog stardew with steam stardew to get the 64 bit smapi working? or would i have to buy it again? Would the 64-bit smapi break some of my mods?

and the other player entire machine froze and needed to be plugged off, after attempting to enter ridgeside

I had just woken up for the day and walked out my door, the game didnt crash or anything. But it is the morning after ||the boat was repaired to ginger island||. Is there an event that happens after that outside your door?? I thought it was fishing made easy oops Idk why LOL
I don't remember there being an event, but it does look like an event tried to play on your farm but didn't work

Ok event 55 is when Leah invites you to the art show, but I'm not sure why the event didn't fire. Can you try resetting your game files, in case those got messed up and caused the error? See first link below

My last suggestion is to temporarily remove the Life Cycle folder for Elliott and Leah, and see if that makes the event play ok
Sometimes the game files get corrupted even if you don't use XNB mods

I found it its Event Repeater, its a requirement for another mod I have (the perks of being married). I can temporarily remove it and the scene plays. Thank you SO much for your help!!!! 
Congrats and you're welcome! I think that requirement is only for a few of the perks (Sam is one) so I just don't use Event Repeater even though I use The Perks of Being Married
Sam is the one I always marry in the end lol funny enough!!
I think you could also report this to the Event Repeater mod page as well, with your log. The mod author may be able to fix it

OK so I've installed 64 bit stardew and smapi, moved all my mods in, got rid of a few that had errors and I didn't feel the need to have, and am now at a point where just 3 are giving me errors that I don't know how to deal with. The ones i'm concerned with are Stardew Hack; Better Fruit Trees; and Friends Forever. Any ideas?

The tractor mod picks up paths if you change the config from what i remember but then you'd have to go back putting the new ones down
tbh thats better than nothing but im not a fan of downloading many things on my 7 year old laptop just to remove them later x3 ill see if i can find somoething but im baffled no one has made a path-changer mod

I found out that if you have Stardew Valley Expanded, Better Sprinkler, LV 10 farming with 40% more gold from artisan product.
You can buy sprinklers from Sophia house and sell it for more gold. (About 50% extra)

no, not at all. just vortex, steam, discord, bluetooth, standard stuff and CCleaner
It is definitely not CCleaner doing. It is only to wipe free space and defrag by user approval
Try closing anything in there (but not steam, discord and the stuff of system programs)
As I've heard, CCleaner isn't a fine program anymore

I'd remove it and try saving the day to see if the infinite load still happens, and if not then I'd manually install
Also idk if this happens to everyone but even after clicking delete from vortex I find that the file is still in the mods folder, so I'd just double check to make sire it was actually deleted

Really, I once used vortex to download my mods, then I started occasionally having crashes, removed vortex and downloaded all mods manually, then issue fixed
It's usually the best doing manual download to avoid some issues, I learnt it the hard way

Hey! So Iโm on mobile on android. My gf downloaded mods (specifically the extended stardew mod) and things are great except, when i go to a new area on the map it perpetually loads. Is there a fix for this?
at the same time, I am not fond of putting too many things manually. I had an issue with one of Elder Scroll games and I installed manually, it had sent my laptop to restart many times.
The first thing I'd check is to see if the mods are compatible with android, especially SVE because it has a ton of mod requirements for it to run

Yeah, that's good that it's before 1.5. All I can honestly recommend is making sure every single required mod (which is unfortunately a lot for SVE) is pre-1.5 and that they're all installed properly

alright, it is working. I had to use the original mod instead of other converted version, like Custom wallpaper/flooring mod, and Custom furniture
smapi compatibility list says love of cooking works but smapi itself says it crashes trying to edit an asset

Hey! I've been trying to install CJB items/ cheats mods, but it won't work? It says i18n and assets are missing manifest .json. I tried to copy/paste them in but then it said that CJBitemspawner .dll and CJBcheatsmenu. dll don't exist -_- does anyone know what to do? I've also tried moving files out of their folders and unzipping it in different folders and moving it. I'm on PC if that helps :)

yeah, they exist i'm pretty sure, I've reinstalled them a few times and the same thing keeps happening. The manifest is just manifest .json

if you want to play fully vanilla (ie not using SMAPI) you can also run the game by going to your game folder (steam library page>gear icon>properties>browse local files) and clicking the stardew valley chicken icon

Hello! I'm kinda lost, if someone as a minute. I downloaded SMAPI and it's installed and running, but I'm having trouble finding a mod that resets/deletes bushes that's compatible with 1.5. It seems my google-fu is not strong enough.
My suspicion is that you messed up with the JA file then. I assume you're doing the art pack thing? ;)
I think the only one working in 1.5 is Entoarox Framework, it has commands for it

If you want to test to make sure the mod itself is working okay for you, grab the default pack (the Main Files one) and install that like you would any other mod. Also check out the article I wrote if you haven't already - it gives some pictures to show what things should look like and where to copy stuff.

FWIW, I don't think those are actually causing problems unless they're dependencies for something else. Between SVE being incompatible with Sundrop City and the error messages shown, I think those are your issue.
though, if you could work on one for preserves and kegs (since the old ones dont work with the newest update) that would be amazeballs. I think I calculated and its gonna take me a year to jam and juice all that I grew lol
@sick cave If you've already removed the stuff and are still having an issue, an option might be to just blow away your mod folder and redownload everything.
Did you check out the mods by TheFox536 that are linked in the description? Because those work fine.
They're built off PFM.

The way PFM works is that if an input doesn't exist, it'll skip those.

I made this so I wouldn't forget how to set the skins, it's on the modpage as well
Adopt n Skin and Elle's Cats don't actually give you more menu options. They give more possibilities of skin for your pet to spawn with. Adopt n Skin gives a random skin, but you can override that with commands.
For example, by putting a skin with the name Cat_1.png, it will make the cat take that skin instead of vanilla. The 1, 2, 3 will also overwrite respectively the vanilla skins of the cats
However, I don't know if it has happened with others, but I've been having problems with Adopt n' skin were it randomizes the skin every night without a reason. Something seems to have happened after update 1.5 that screwed with it, and the unnoficial update didn't seem to have worked. I've been having red text using it along side Stardew Valley Expanded as well

I don't know that I totally understand. I'm trying to set my cat's color to long haired black, and I'm doing the console command "set_skin LSolidBlack 1" due to the fact I don't see any number ID that correlates to LSolidBlack

in any case, even if the skin doesn't replace the correct cat, you can change the skin with commands
like if you get in-game and you receive an orange tabby you can just fix it with one line in your smapi window

normally it's fine to have a bunch of mods in a subfolder like that, but when there's a stray file at the same folder level (like a readme) SMAPI thinks that the subfolder is a mod and that it's missing a manifest

it's also fine to take them out though, you just need to remember that you did that so when you update the mod you don't end up with two copies

subfolder issues are usually caused by stray files like that one or by long strings of subfolders within subfolders that make windows throw a fit

it does stay open yeah, you should be able to alt-tab to it, but the log parser makes it much easier to read

- Buy More Materials CP Patch 1.2.3 because it requires mods which aren't installed (jallenrt.BuyMoreMaterials). SDS\HD Portraits for SDS because it's an empty folder.

It shouldn't break anything but I'd go through them and delete anything that is empty. I also recommend manually installing if possible just because sometimes Vortex doesn't fully disable things properly :(

The update keys just mean you won't get notified if the mods update, which means you'd have to check manually after anything stops to work. But other than that it seems like everything is running fine, just missing the update keys

Have you tried resetting the bundles as noted in the mod FAQ? You can enter debug resetjunimonotes in your console to reset them, though it could cause some visual bugs.
The FAQ also states its best to use this kind of mod on new saves.

I'm contemplating how to dynamically add custom npcs. But honestly theyd probably mostly get in the way anyway.
And for them to actually pick up eggs would require higher level code than I can do.
Maybe I'll just start hiding little interactions off stage during festival events so if you skip the actual minigame to wander you discover more than if you participate (ie for the Ice Fishing you can run around the map for a minute instead of fishing).
I like that idea. Anything to give the festivals extra variety, I haven't had enough time in my game to run into it, but I have heard the groundhog day complaints.

I have a question. My PC is running an AMD FX-8320 processor. It's an old 8 core 3.5Ghz, 4 turbo clock. I don'r think the processor is weak, because it has handled everything i throw at it for a while, but I was wondering if it could be the old platform that's causing SMAPI to struggle so much with loading my mods.. If anyone has a clue if this could be the reason, or if anyone has any tips on optimizing loading times, a reply would be much appreciated ๐ ๐
Stardew is 32bit which limits the amount of RAM it has access to and thus the amount of mods you can run, check out the pins in #making-mods-general for early details on how to turn it into 64 bit.
But I'm only running about 35 mods..
People told me they are playing with around 500 and never experienced loading times of an hour and a half.. ๐

I get pauses at predictably random times. Takes me about 10 minutes for smapi to load what it says is more than 700 mods.

Just going from a problem I've seen on occasion, you may want to look at the HDD (or SSD) you're running. If the drive is old and/or crap, this might be a symptom of a larger problem. Do you get slow load times for other games as well?

IF it's a disk problem, that would theoretically move the files to a different portion of the disk. SSDs are supposed to be good at detecting and "routing around" bad NAND though, so maybe not.
Obviously that requires reinstalling all the mods/etc. as well. :V
(which is another potential sledgehammer solution to the issue)
As for memory - again, I assume you're not maxed or near-maxed since you didn't mention it.
If you're paging to disk though (which I believe should be part of the memory graph,) that may also cause some performance issues.

And for the hardware monitoring, I haven't actually looked at how the pc behaves during the loading process soo maybe thats a hole in my case
And I'll surely be making some research next time I try to get in the game
All good. I'm just mentally trying to go through the steps I'd follow if I were looking at a similar issue.
