maybe uninstalling and reinstalling will correct the files for smapi
no a reinstall of the game... just smapi
I would just run the installer and choose to remove. then run it again to reinstall
Are you sure you have your steam launch options set to lunch SV with smapi?
that might help. If smapi is there and not running the only other thing i can thing besides bad files is something on your system preventing the exe from running. So I'd guess anti virus
If you try to double click and run smapi direcly in the game folder what happens?

Thats an odd one, did you verify the files through steam. is there a chance it reset the launch options when you did. I don't know if thats possible though as I don't use steam myself
sorry, don't know what could happen there. I always launch directly ( not with steam ) as i have multiple mod groups

maybe when you reinstalled smapi steam saw the launch option break and defaulted it back?

From experience i know problems with Smapi are usually PEBKAC errors 
lol I had to google that one ha ha ha

I don't get to play anything besides Stardew these days and even that's is more opening and closing the game. Not so much actual game play. I'm going to have to put a solid 100 hours in to another test run of my mod before I'll even consider it ready to release. So I'm going to have to find some gaming time somewhere

I dropped a comment in a thread on the stardewvalley.net forums, but I figure I might as well ask here - is there a modern mod that's equivalent to the Upgraded Casks mod? One that gives tiered casks that can age multiple items?
I've looked through the examples for PFM, but it doesn't seem like you can do casks in that.
(and I'd swear I'd asked the maintainer for PFM about it at some point in the past and got a WONTFIX, but for the life of me I can't find the conversation anymore <_<)
If the issue just stared you can restore an backup of your save. Smapi installs a mod that backs them up once a day
so you might be able to go back a day. you might lose some game play but rescue your game still

Digus is a great modder
But it's probably a fairly big ask.

Nah, Digus actually replied, but it was a flat no.
eh, might've been busy at the time. It wasn't a "no, I'll never do that" - just "no, this mod doesn't do that"
It's probably the only logical mod to attach the functionality to though, because it's the only thing that does stuff with casks other than "place everywhere"

@scarlet panther With PFM you can tell a machine to not produce certain items until after conditions have been met. Is there a way to use mail or events to trigger the next level of production from your casks?
PFM doesn't seem to do anything with casks in the first place.
I dug through the example config, and nothing.
Kegs, jars, etc. but no casks.
oh... you could make a machine that outputs what a cask would and then set the appropriate length of time

I actually was thinking of that. Seems like a terrible hack. Also, I don't have a way (as far as I can tell) to just increment quality, so I'd have to make 3 sets of kegs - to silver, to gold, to iridium - and limit the input.
Which is better - but not ideal IMHO.

in your game folder there will be a folder called save-backups in it there will be an archive file for each day. you would extract one of those and put the files where your saved games are

can't see any parrot sprites included so it most likely takes the vanilla parrot sprites
i thought so... i got a mod that changes sprites for critters so i kinda expected the parrot perch to use one of those

Reset terrain features (as smapi io says) is broken and shouldn't be used now, and Save Anywhere conflicts with SVE
so i can only save now when i sleep in bed. well then.

ok as i said i only had 1 copy of any version of SDV expanded in the folder, and just deleted it along with some i didn't recognize the names of, and the reset terrain features and save anywhere are also gone. updating spacedust for the secondtime in a week seeing if that does anything, and re-downloading SDVE

Same way you installed them, if you've made edits to the config however, take that folder out before you remove the old folder and then put it back in once the updated version has been placed in the mods folder

You can start SVE with a current save, but some things might be a little wonky. Like bushes in the way of stuff.
Then once I get bored of my current save Iβll just upgrade to expanded and start a new save
I think that's the best way to do it, from what I have heard. I don't use it myself. I've just seen what others have said.

Hey, i need help installing the oasis greenhouse mod for the sve + if2r mod
Go into the IF2R config, turn off the greenhouse. Then just drop your greenhouse mod into your mods folder. That's it. The instructions on the mod page are out dated now π
Getting some crashes on linux for some mods that worked on windows. Im assuming this has to do with case sensitivity?

I know with Producer Framework Mod (PFM) content packs, there are definitely times in which capitalization issues plague Linux and Mac but not Windows.
Since that's a SMAPI mod, that could be a capitalization thing, but it might also be ~code thing I don't know and can't explain~ because the mod was built on Windows without ~something something cross platform compatibility~

SMAPI has no control over which terminal the system uses unfortunately. It's just a console app which the system runs.
You can open a terminal and launch StardewModdingAPI.exe from the command-line yourself though.

do you use the mod Life Cycle? if so, delete the folder Life Cycle- Craftables and see if that helps

@slender glen @keen mirage martin is a teen who lives with his parents. and claire invites you to her home in one of her events (her home location/map is inaccessible, and only exists for the event). they both live out of town, and have to take the bus to work. their spawn location game-wise is the bus.

Yo, is managing mod updates and version still a huge hassle? I haven't played SDV in like a year
(By "huge hassle" I mean that every time you have to make note of which mods are out of date, go to nexus, wait the N seconds per download or whatever, download ZIP files, extract them into the correct folder, and restart the game)

Since you're on Android, I can't recommend updating mods of course, so I'd recommend deleting your GetGlam mod folder and then reinstalling it π

hi, im having a problem with saving my game. basically, i had loaded a file which i had last played with on stardew 1.3.36 directly into stardew 1.5.4 with smapi 3.9.4. i had some different mods back then, some of which i might not have anymore. i played the game and it worked alright, but now it's been saving the game file for nearly 2 hrs. i checked the save folder and it shows a temporary file ? i'm not sure what to do. here's my log https://smapi.io/log/fc631fc3bc114f94ad766089b5498ef6

That would be that the manifest hadn't been updated to match the new version number. You can either ignore that or change it to match yourself π

I noticed if you have all fences and whatnot enabled some places are obvious what fits in there
some... not so much
(example: there is a place on the farm that is exactly 8 tiles wide, there are no 8 tile wide buildings in game... the only thing that "fits" there is a pair of 4 tile wide buildings, and those are mills, stable and I think the tractor)

EMU meant to be a replacement of EF so... I'm not so sure but there's this and (one of you or both) have SVE installed so EMU and Extended Minecarts aren't happy of this.
There's some kind of confliction between them and SVE.
My problem seemed to be with professions tho not minecarts are you sure?

You can't use subfolders in stardew's mod folder itself, but you could hotswap your entire Mods folder depending on what you want
Smapi has a system for this stuff(It's a bit confusing at start and I dont use it myself)

and I think SDV linux is 64bit

is it a coincidence that some AC furniture just came out as a mod for stardew?
If a player is inside a shed, holding an item, everything's fine.
If someone else is inside the shed, everything's fine
If someone else holds an item as well, the game crashes
Any idea why?

I still have not found a ||treasure floor in skull cavern||. I have the ||skull cavern elevator|| mod, do you think it won't appear bc of this mod?
The sheds have 90 machines inside each
is SMAPI Log Parser working for anyone else? whenever i try to copy and paste or drag and drop my error log the page freezes and never actually manages to load up the log to tell me what mods to update and stuff
But I had bigger sheds before without this issue

i throw this question in here every now and again just to see if anyone has any advice: i finished perfection, does anyone know mods that add more challenge to the game after perfection?
My current modlist has sent my 98% completion save back to 7%
I mean, there's no "challenge", just a TON of things to do besides the vanilla stuff

One thing that I noticed the first time
Every single machine started blinking in and out of existence, and I had time to select an item that I didn't have to carry over my head
i was NOT expecting anything this impressive
Game didn't crash
Second time every machine vanished except the top left one, then it crashed
Will get bigger in the coming days π

I'm using NPC locator mod and when I join a server they don't show up on the map, is this a feature? or a bug?
