when i try, it flashes the currently installed version of automate but doesn't update or change anything

Sprite Master is broken with 1.5 unless it's been updated... It's not clear at first but it leads to delays in opening menus and a couple other bugs that started with the new game update
does colorful chests 1.2.4 work on the latest SMAPI?
I used Sprite Master A lot, then with the new update had issue with delays, wasn't until reading post on nexus that it was the mod, I removed it and the problem went away instantly
it says it works on smapi since 2 days ago since its grabbing info from 33 hours ago

Man, I'm looking at the screenshots and I am VERY tempted to delete a whole bunch of animations, because that looks really good to me....
It really does a good job at what it does, in spite of the animation issues
Screw it. Into the mod folder it goes. Easy enough to pull if I change my mind.
I shouldn't be surprised I really like it. The Genesis Collection on my Switch does something like that (as an option), and I love how Shining Force looks like with that option on.

I have taken the same scaler... XBRZ and did every graphic I could in the game into a big HD CP patch using PyTK but due to memory limitations it's only capible of running in single player without any other mods... Limitation of the game being 32bit.... Sprite Master does it all on the fly and with less memory usage... I really hope this mod is.. or does get fixed... It' s Great. The author has also said they are trying to make future updates work with CP Animations
I'm going to see how it runs with the animation mods in place first, and see what happens.
Then decide if I'm killing SpriteMaster or pulling all CP-A stuff.
i keep my animation mods in one folder so i dont lose em

its also simple to just move them out if somethings not compatible with it and see if its worth the loss

why is it taking so long to load?

i usually have to restart my game 1-2 times before i can actually start since reshade likes to crash my game on start(i've tested it, its reshade causing it) then i have to wait a second for my saves to load then i have to wait a minute for my game to load up, and thats only at 370, so it takes me about, 10 minutes?
Going to time it this time. Restarting again because Sprite Master apparently doesn't do anything with my recolour mod, so I look absolutely silly as soon as I walk out the door.
well it would take me less time if i didnt always accidentally close smapi and deleted reshade
but its so pretty its worth it

9 min 54 sec initial load time - 5 mins 11 secs on the actual "loading" screen, 4 mins 43 seconds staring at a dark room waiting to be able to move. My farmer must have a terrible case of sleep paralysis.

I should note those load times are with multiple other programs running on the comp, including Discord and Chrome, which are memory hogs.

yup i do check new mods there from time to time, but not as often as nexus.

I might have missed it. I've installed 380ish mods in two days and working. There's been A LOT of reading.
also, i use aedenthorn's overworld chests with sve, and it works fine. i tweaked the hell out of spawn locations for the chests, though. and i recommend removing clothes from the item pool if they're still there by default, 'cos you'll just get endless clothes otherwise XD
i made the chests spawn in the forest and mountain, and a couple of other custom locations that i could reasonably see as having random chests pop up undisturbed
I will check that. Haven't looked into the config for it, but immediately had one in my front yard when I started.
there's a "spawn everywhere but these locations" and a "spawn nowhere but these locations" config
Need to remember to check my Joys of Efficiency config too. I'm assuming that's what's auto-watering seeds when I plant them.
(also, basically the only hard incompatibilities for sve are ones that change the same maps that sve does. unless they have special instructions regarding exactly that, like cecilia or cc reimagined)

yooo could I get some help please? I have had this issue before, but I can't remember how I fixed it. I try to load my save and the game just goes to the black loading... screen and stop responding. It usually does this, but If I wait a bit the game loads, but that is not happening this time. The log doesnt have any errors or anything but here it is.
I know it's not CJB because I intentionally didn't activate that, plus this isn't watering until I plant a seed.
yes the unofficial mod that you can find in the comments is what I've been using. It loses some functionality for reasons/compatibility I haven't figured out yet. but its solid for putting new animals in Marnie's store.
there have been some issues with pytk and spacecore, but I am out of the loop with the current fixes.

I'd give Khadija's the update first though.
since those two frameworks were having issues there were a lot of updates across the board.
ill give that a go, I also tried validating the game files and deleting the startup prefs with no luck

as far as i can tell, yes.
if so I would sugjest loading up a save with either spacecore reliant mods of pytk reliant mods and seeing if that interaction is the issue or not.
I know there are seperate version of space core to be compatible with a couple specific reliant pytk mods to make them play nice last time I was around (I was afk for a couple weeks so things maybe have changed)

the compat list doesn't keep track of content packs because, in general, if their framework mods are updated then the pack is updated (barring a base game update that adds a previously modded crop like pineapple)

hey guys im new to stardew expanded but does anyone know why the mine isnt in the normal location after day 5?
because the author moved it. they like changing maps around a bit to better fit their ideas for expansion. apparently there's going to be a story addition in a future update that the mines/guild moving to a different mountain map is important for.
So is there a location I can find it because ive circled the map like 10 times now looking for it ๐

CJB cheats plus Part of the COmmunity
with CJB cheats, enable "unlimited gifting" and "no friendship decay" and you're golden
or you can just give yourself 10 hearts with all of them instantly.

since 1.5 broke Custom Furniture, I couldn't play my old saves anymore (i.e. the game won't let me save, custom furniture on the island turned to non-removable items etc.). Is there any way around that, or is the only way I could play the game starting a new save?
you could try editing the save file I suppose?

otherwise open the game in 1.4 (which will only work if you haven't saved it in 1.5) and delete them all from tehre

i skip emily's heart events. sure, i've got her to 8 hearts from aerobics and the saloon, but i barely talk to her XD
custom npcs pretty much only get the witness bonus, while vanilla npcs get every other bonus. so i'd get leah and and elliott to six hearts in spring just from selling unique items, and not talking to them outside the saloon, meanwhile my future spouse was scraping in at 3-4 from talking every day
so this save i'm barely selling anything, and talking to people in populated places

I have had a look, and although others haven't had the exact same issue, apparently the mod can be pretty buggy in other ways, so I'm probably going to have a look and settle for another mod

currently im using the elf ears and long sleeves but i had to combine them together myself to have both- and then for the hair im using barber-ella and then a million shirt mods and a skirt mod, you can ask @spice turret for the sleeve and shirt mods and ill look for the other clothing mods i use

I'd suggest avoiding xnb mods, personally, unless you know what you're doing.

you could try removing the folder with [TMX] in the name from the maru and harvey part of the mod, but that might result in other problems

@slender glen you log says TMXL Map Toolkit needs updating... It might be having an effect on Harvey's door since it is capable of effecting the Maps. Are you able to update it?

@terse trout You should look into removing these mods they aren't working and I see a bunch of errors around a patch to do with the grren house not working... do you have any mod installed that are effecting the greenhouse you know of... Sounds like the area your game is crashing is towards the area the greenhouse is?

oh... The more PPJA packs you install the more things there are to craft and cook and grow, all of which need to be done to get certain achievements. Makes the game harder and bigger with actually making the game harder if you understand what I mean

ok i know it is tmx related now because i updated it and then when i removed the tmx subfolder for maru and harvey in life cycle the doors to the clinic opened again, and i see their children now which the mod adds, but theyre stuck in the "void" or the black area in the screen and when they leave the house for their regular schedule they walk into the void and don't leave the clinic, the same happens to harvey, when he leaves his room i cant find where he goes off to

I've hardly played vanilla. Even back in the day when I originally got SDV, I got into modding a few minor things. I'd played some Harvest Moon A New Beginning before SDV and I liked how I could see NPCs on the map. Not being able to see NPCs on the map for SDV felt like a downgrade. I also hated the fishing mini-game. Other than maybe the very first ~10-ish hours on my Steam clock for SDV, the entire rest of the time has had a minimum of like 3 or 4 mods.

@wraith wing the blackness is cause likely by patch method, if its overlay the transparency will be transparent and allow the bottom layers to show through. If in replace mod the transparency will wipe out any info that supposed to show through... and the game shows this as black because there isnt anything there anymore. Does that make sense?

also a tip @wraith wing , try to organize your mods folder like seperating them as soon as possible (Important mods, NPCs, Farm, players, and so on and so forth)
So you wont get confused when finding a specific mod to be deleted, just in case.

@wraith wing chances are you need to add one mod or another to the others list of dependencies to control the order of the mod applying the patches to the map tilesheets, or which ever mod is patching the tilesheet have to have it CP patch edited to be the other Patch method other than the one it's currently using.

its not really recommended but the same tool that takes them out of XNB is capable of doing the opposite and packing them back into XNB
Even some CP patches do this on purpose... Expsecially Adult ones so the conent is a little more portected from childeren
XNB files can be used in CP patches... What isn't suggested or talked about is replacing the games own XNB files so that you can run the game without smapi but still have it modded. This way of working isn't don't anymore because the Devs don't want us replacing there files... So we patch them instead.

I know some people say they prefer mod managers because updating manually is a pain. I understand that it can be - I have a huge number of mods and I manually update myself. But you will likely have a far better experience if you manually update. You won't have any errors caused by the mod manager deleting things or not updating other things or adding in junk files that SMAPI gets confused by.

Yeah, I installed the generic menu mods and the child to npc bc I want my kids to be atleast to move and go somewhete than to be stuck inside of the house
But the problem is that some existing npcs wont go out and do their schedules

Shiko, Jacob and Eloise, Isla. Basically anything that has a folder labelled "[TMX] Festival Locations" and doesn't also contain maps should probably be removed. (Just the TMX folder, not the entire NPC, you can keep the CP one! and therefore the character)
also I'm running a bunch that still have the TMX festival locations and I've only had the crash once. It seems in my experience that if it's the first day of that load, it won't crash - or at least is way less likely to - then if it's your third day in a row.
(Jacob and Isla will be migrated across to CP next update.)

hey! not sure if this is the right place to ask but im on a multiplayer farm with 2 friends (we have a few mods installed, all of us do to make sure no crashes occur) friend 1 is able to play and do everything normally, friend 2's game keeps crashing everytime they enter the town, has this happened to anyone before?

Sorry, to clarify, was Jacob and Eloise causing the loadActor skip festival error or was it causing TMXL to crash the game? The former, yes definitely I will believe that, but that shouldn't have caused the Null Object Reference error.

basically what happens is everything in SVE is dependent on other things, so if one doesn't load due to a duplicate, it creates a sort of snowball effect
which usually culminates it the "Cannot find this Z_someSVE tilesheet" error

it shouldn't interfere. All installing a mod is is moving a folder from one place to another, and I haven't had problems using mods along with Riot's anticheat

I was stuck in a cut scene after completing a bundle and it was showing a new bundle that I unlocked but I could move around and I tried opening up another bundle and that's when problems occurred. I could move around but I had no movement animation, it looked like I was in Southpark and then I couldn't do anything, or even open the game menu

I have realized that "not-SDVE" compatible for me just means "doesn't exist", which kind of sucks, as Mineral Mage looks interesting.
I actually didn't notice it wasn't compatible. I got a mod or two to uninstall once I get home...

Then it works for SVE

The opening cutscen for it was cute.

i did i removed certain npc's from those cause i dont want them added and those mods don't have ways to remove them via the config
is there a way fix them without adding those npcs back

I jumped off the deep end by messaging a certain author and asking them if they would like me to take over work on a certain popular mod and they said yes. So... I'm jumping off the deep end, baby! WOO!

I was doing pretty good until I installed Sprite Master. Then I started having serious lag issues, and the Sprite Master textures disappear a lot.
