Does anyone know if its possible to duplicate a farm and have mods not mess up?
I tried making a new farm so the game would generate a new folder/ID
copy the old farm save into the new folder, go into the save and farm file and rename the farm name so i could differentiate it (changing nothing else)
And JSON messes up and wont load a bunch of mods, giving me a bunch of errors about how it cant load certain mods

one way I've duplicated a save (for testing purposes in my case) was that I copied the entire save folder, and renamed the farmer and farm: in the folder names, filenames, as well as within the actual save files themselves (I used Notepad++ once and VS Code another time)

I did that, change the farm name(In the folder, file name and inside the savegame and farm file), farm id (In the folder/file name, couldnt find it within the file).. and it loads the game, i can find the new farm, but the JSON breaks and some of the mods (Harvest statue, line sprinklers etc) all break and dont show up

it's safe. if you've seen events you won't see any updated versions of those, but if you're relatively early in I doubt you'll miss much

@unreal stratus Noticed something in updating RSV.. You seam to have changed the folder name in the zip from "Ridgeside Village Mod" to "Ridgeside Village 1.2.0" so that might cause issues with people updating as the install section on Nexus just says "Drag and drop it into your mods folder" and the differing folder name wouldnt prompt an override

You should not be overriding mods anyway

It can cause a lot of issues in mods

Always delete first and then drag and drop

Actually unless the mod author specifies that you absolutely need to delete the original files first (like SVE or any PPJA mod), it's safe to overwrite

the problem with that is you can lose config files if you changed things within the config to customize. (notable example would be conflict on the greenhouse if you use Immersive Farm Remastered and a custom greenhouse, since IFR defaults to its greenhouse)

the only reason you need to delete the original files with SVE or PPJA is because the folder structure changes pretty frequently

Since i work in Data/IT stuff i try to think along the lines of what i call "Stupid proofing"
Not all mod users are savvy and they only follow the base directions (and often struggle with that), so redoing configs a lot is not a easy thing to do

@dire fractal Both Android SMAPI ports are currently broken. ZaneYork is aware of the issue. There is no ETA for a fix. A large portion of the graphics code got abruptly changed which caused the port to break.

ZaneYork does accept pull requests if you are able to submit a fix. You can also check the repo for updates for when a new version is released. https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer

@keen moss I think I found an exploit in fantasy crops? A gold nugget is worth 25g. Gold seeds are worth 200. Especially since the seed maker puts out multiples of the seeds you put in, you can really easily just multiply your money

in your mods you're gonna have a \Mods\Stardew Valley Expanded folder with like 4 folders inside, and then those four folders will probably also be in the base of \Mods

so I cheated a bit with CJB Cheats Menu to be able to give some NPCs gifts without restrictions, then I was like "oh no too fast" so I set it so I am limited to 2 gifts per week and now I'm back to "oh no too slow" lol this is the struggle I get for starting a new save almost every month. i used a debug command to get the cellar, but i was dumb and forgot i had already asked robin to upgrade it for me.

hiya, i got a question bout SVE. the buss stop shortcut, and the opened entrance to gunther isnt loading (meaning he doesnt exist as a friendable character anymore either) but everything else in SVE is. is this an already known bug or is this just me?
it started after the 1.5 SV update. the only thing i can see myself in the logs are the antisocial mod not loading (log says its okay that it doesnt) i can provide log as well if that helps ✌️
