Kevin's portrait bothers me the most. It looks too much like Family Circus (the newspaper comic strip) and not enough like SDV
Make the old Refugee NPCs mod functional again by replacing the Advance Location Loader content pack with a TMX version.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Family Circus is from the 1960's. So I'm saying it's a very old looking, cartoony art style. Not terrible, but in the context of SDV, looks weird
same, though the sam recolour (antoine) is a close second for me
If somebody made a vanilla-style portrait pack for it, I'd probably download it just to check it out

East Scarpe is a pretty place but still feels much more like a work in progress. lemurkat is probably gonna improve it over time, I'm sure, but it needs more going on

i have a mod for backwoods shortcuts and i get annoyed with mods that change it

my modcount was 196 last i looked, though its about to be 194 while i test to see if better trees is whats blocking me from doing a 1.5 thing (probably) and also turning off better panning cause i think i cant get vanilla panning loot with it which is actually important in this one exact 1.5 instance

It sounds like beach farm is causing a lot of the issues. If you don't have beach farm, you're probably less likely to notice

i think better trees is actively preventing me from planting trees the vanilla game would let me plant because they arent on the farm
It just seems like the new locations and the new way of using furniture are causing most of the mod issues in general
What changed about furniture exactly? I keep hearing it was entirely redone, but I'm not sure what that changed in vanilla if that makes sense
i mean fair. this is a very specific part of it that i think is actually working as the mod intended and causing a problem because the new content opened up a newer way to use trees that it wasnt expecting

The problem with ES was I made two of my NPCs before I created it or else theyd ive there too! Also many of the people who had started making NPCs for it kinda went MIA. Currently I'm looking into adopting some older npcs (like Alec) and bringing them into it. But I need permissions for that and cos some of them are fairly old (ie Clarice) the creators dont seem to respond to PMs.

I actually talk to him more than most people because I pass him going to SVE's forest extension

i added muadhnait last game for another ghost girl for my character to adopt (he was looking for a ghost girl from his past in my roleplay/story). and i finally added nagito because i realised his house was already in east scarpe, so i may as well populate it (i initially thought his house came with the npc download).
That's actually why I renoved a bunch. I'll add them back when I'm done with 1.5
heh, thats why I go in for so many npc mods, every like 4-5 days I run into someone I've never seen before and have to stop and go wut? :p

Sure! Basically there’s the warning text that appears in my log whenever I get to North Island. It happens as long as I’m in the area, doesn’t matter if I’m foraging or walking or just standing still.

@raw arrow Both Android SMAPI ports are currently broken. ZaneYork is aware of the issue. There is no ETA for a fix. A large portion of the graphics code got abruptly changed which caused the port to break.
ZaneYork does accept pull requests if you are able to submit a fix. You can also check the repo for updates for when a new version is released. https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer

Stuff I see on JA crop heavy lists often (including mine) that aren't included are Korea Blossom, Cherry Blossom Cafe, and SSaturn's Tropical Farm and Oriental Kitchen mods, for example

under Requirements there's 2 sections, one for "things this mod lists as requirements" and one for "things that list this mod as a requirement:

just added an npc with a 4-5 year story that ends in heart break. meanwhile, i tend to drop out summer of year 2, missing all modded npc events from year 3 onwards. at least there'll be no heart break in my games?

Oh I've been getting an error whenever I get to NorthIsland no matter what I do and I don't know which mod is causing it (problem number 1) aaand when I try to remove all mods to see if the error occurs when I run the game with only SMAPI, my save file doesn't load and keeps reverting me back to the ConcernedApe startup page (problemo 2)

Corrin and Wing mentioned it could be the mushroom propagator mod that I got so I'm removing all the items I have from that mod, saving and restarting to see if the error still occurs.
and yeah taking ALL mods out and loading a save probably would screw with a game pretty bad tbh

I'd suggest taking out everything that doesnt change a map or add items and seeing if that fixed it and narrowing it down from there. Cause inventory and map changing mid-game are not great, but im not sure if anything else really really hecks up your save too bad
though if you think its mushroom propagator go through with dealing with all those items first and giving it a try
Hmm the only mods I have that adds any items is this one, I just restarted my save file after removing all the logs - I'll go to the Island again to see if the error still occurs 🙂
Also, helpful thing i learned fairly recently, you can put a . at the beginning of a mod folder's name to make smapi not load it

1- If I remove both Mushroom Propagator and SpaceCore my save file won't load. It reverts back to the startup page.
2- If I remove only Mushroom Propagator I no longer get the NorthIsland error!

That CPA was there when I had 1.5 too hahah, I've posted a comment on the mod author's page about it. They've updated the mod to try and fix the bug but it didn't work either. I've updated that to notify them as well 🙂

(Possibly) weird question - When I download the mushroom mod there's two files in the .zip folder, one for automate and one without, I don't have automate so if I remove the automate compatible folder and only use the regular mushroom log mod that wouldn't cause any trouble, would it?

I am aware of some weird warping issues that appear to be causing East Scarpe residents to try and return home through Grampleton Fields instead of even trying to use the bridge. So I've hidden East Scarpe until we figure it out. If you use Grampleton Fields and dont want NPCs stomping through your crops I suggest you uninstall East Scarpe for the interim. Don't worry about losing your progress, that's still stored in your save file.
(Yes the first problem is caused by a circular route the second I think by the exit/enter warp currently on Town/Shearwater. That may be fixed tomorrow.)
If you dont have Grampleton Fields theyll just stand aimlessly around the map late at night.

The farm is generally not pathable by npcs at all, largely because by default game they destroy anything they walk thru.
i mean theres deffo no npcs but theres ways to make the junimo huts more useful, if that helps
yeah, junimos for the farm proper, there are various not actual npc ways to help with most other non farm outdoors work

you will run into issues with the game literally running out of ram at some stage though.

the biggest danger is usually an id scramble which is temporary, or having bushes block paths you need
that's more annoying to deal with since reset terrain features isnt updated

Ok so per your config all those people should be dateable. I think like you noted, Sandy has a different room. I didn't play much with Looking for Love so I don't think it changes too much visually outside of that. Can you clarify what you mean when you say it's not working? Like, are certain characters not actually dateable?
none of the characters it should make dateable, are not
but it adds all the rooms, but in sandy's room theres a thing you can inspect which doesnt have text linked to it

try out the penny expanded mod. penny ranked up my tier list for marriageable characters after i installed it. it adds a lot more cutscenes and fleshes out her story. i don't agree with all the events though, but it's a really well made character expansion mod.
maybe. i got turned off specific character expansion mods after the demetrius overhaul gave him something nice to say about sebastian. that clashed so badly with vanilla (he has not a word to say about his step-son) and my own perception of him >.> i think i'll stick to my mental rewrites, where i can happily befriend penny and help her help herself.

ohh haven't tried out that one. but yeah, understandable. sebastian is my fave character in the game so i'm kinda picky with other mods doing events/dialogues with him. i didn't like sve's events for him and just skipped out on that part.
if you're up to try out character expansion mods again, i recommend lemurkat's marnie expansion (because finally you get the option to break up marnie with lewis!!) and george and evelyn developed

If you have 2 CP mods that change the furniture file, are they compatible? I don't remember if CP is just an override of the file and you can have only 1 or if you can have multiple.
Not a modder, but I believe it depends in the method they do it; ie is it patching the file or replacing it
But even if they are both patching, wouldn't that still conflict if you have two patches for the same thing? 
I think you can specify which areas of the tilesheet they patch? Maybe?
But most furniture mods usually patch the whole thing and I'm divided between two

have folks still seen SMAPI give update notifications that point to nexus mods? I used to have 89 listed as needing updates, mostly from nexus. Now the list is 34, and they're all moddrop links

no the errors I'm talking about aren't critical and are returning Service Temporarily Unavailable errors from what I assume is the nexus
it's weird, your smapi log claims there are 7 errors, but I don't actually see any

and it's not these update failures because there's way more than seven

oh @sleek pawn your line sprinklers isn't installed correctly (and may be an old version) and Range Display is outdated. Range Highlight is a working alternative

It's happened way more then 10x in a row for me and it was just bad RNG.
true, it's not impossible, but it was the same thing i had 2 weeks ago as well, like some others too. and since most mods got updates in the meantime (and CF not), and it immediately worked after disabling the furniture mod, it's my strong guess, that it was because of the mod
