Content patcher?
So would i just put all these required folders in its own seperate folder??
i just have alllll my mod folders all in a row
you put all the folders that come out of the zip files right into the mods folder
keep dropping files into mod folders and dont worry about anything else
just make sure you dont add mods that arent compatible with each other
if you DO make a mistake, smapi will probably tell you in bright red

i think its rabbits that fox-squirrels replace. Birds become the little tree spirit guys from princess mononoke (kodama? something like that), frogs are the little coal sprites with their little star sprinkles, and OWLS ARE JUST HECKING NOFACE

i would actually keep a separate folder outside of your gamefiles where you put the zips and downloads and stuff, and just have the unzipped stuff in the mods folder
im neurotic and keep a backup of every zip ive ever unzipped tho

what i do is keep the zips in my downloads, open them up, and drag the first folder inside into mods
that unzips them automatically and gets rid of all the numbers after the name, which can be an issue for some PCs
ima test it out
they can complain about your file path being too long if it's got all the numbers
plus it makes updating more awkward as some mods can be safely overwritten if they are not in numbers folders, numbers folders have different names for every version so overwriting doesnt work

i have a folder on my computer where i keep modding stuff, mostly SDV but also some remaining files from the last time i played minecraft, and if i ever get back into skyrim or fallout, mods will go there too. and within that i have a folder where i put things i need to unzip. i open them and drag the folders into the mods folder and then put the zip file into a backups folder
the black window? yes you do, closing it will close your game
(personally i generally rightclick on whatever batch of mods i'm unzipping after putting them in the mods folder and click Extract Here on 7zip's menu)
Hello stardewers, is there a way to share all your mod settings in a multiplayer mode?
preferrably a copy and paste kind of a method
easiest is to upload your entire mods folder including configs to a google drive or dropbox folder and send it to your friends

my multiplayer game's fancy and we have a private github repo, which makes it really easy for us to update bc one person can grab updates, push them, and the rest of us pull and get them automatically
if the ads can or do extend outside of the banner space, theyre getting blocked with no remorse

did you download it? if so, the key is P, if not, go download it bc it doesn't come with SMAPI
theres a built in shortcut for the cbj mods, the mod page will say what it is, but so will the config file

Alright, everybody. ChestEx was not the culprit. I was able to immediately sleep, save, and load properly. However, if I continue with my entire day, I still get an infinite saving screen, and still have to force close the game. I'm going to try removing the Giant Crop Ring, and see if that fixes it.

yeah, so for most mods that are SMAPI mods (ie the ones that don't say they're content packs for another mod like CP or JA and have a .dll) it should say on the mod page if it works in multiplayer. for JA mods and PFM mods, and anything else that adds custom items, everyone needs it or it'll crash. for CP mods, it's all local but sometimes you all need it. if it just changes the look of something but not the size (of a building, of a spritesheet like hair etc) it's fine if only one person has it. if it's like, adding space to the greenhouse, or adding a custom NPC, or changing a schedule, everyone needs it

Whenever my game loads, it doesn't load properly (acts like it's going to crash and freezes) and the menu music is playing. Always. I can't play like this, the menu music drives me mad. >.< It happens every time I load up my file.

To the first question, the answer is no. For the second one, I've closed the game completely and reloaded, yes.

Is there a mod that makes nighttime a bit more realistic? No passing out the second 2am hits but more of like, the longer you don't sleep the weaker you get and the more energy you use for example

I just looked into the walk to the desert mod and did NOT realize the first time i saw it how much content it adds!!!! I will report back with news on how this thing works out

YEh "walk to the Desert" is not the most descriptive of names for it. IT kinda just scrapes the surface.
The main thing is that the 2am thing is like a really unrealistic restriction that I personally don't like, I just want a bit more balance added so it doesn't feel so cheap like fully removing it
seriously i kept seeing it and being like "Oh it lets you walk from the tunnel to the desert, i understand what that entails"
although I wish I would pass out immediately at 2am in real life

one of my mods (i assume) is making it so that i can't move my coop, is there a way to identify which one it is?
ive never heard of that before. is smapi giving you any error messages? If not youre gonna have to just look at your list of mods and disable and re-enable them until you figure out whats wrong
ah damn, no error message and the coop itself doesn't actually have any mods on it, the animals (that i don't have yet) do though so not sure if it could be that
btw, useful thing i only learned recently, if you rename a folder in the mods folder with a . at the beginning (like ".foldername"), the game ignores it, so you can disable mods but keep them right there.

elle's new coop animals just reskins them, it wouldnt make problems, also ive used it before (i dont anymore cause i use adopt n skin for all of it, but thats a little more complex to handle since you have to use smapi commands and name the image files correctly and stuff)

Oop. Something isn't working with my mods. Might just be conflicting mods, despite smapi not saying anything. I use the mod Adopt n' Skin and I also have Elle's Cat/Dog Replacements. Now the error I'm talking about only refers to one cat (haven't tried the other cats or any of the dogs yet.) I put in custom skins for most of my cats and dogs aside from one which I set to work with a skin already in Elle's Cat Replacements. Anyway! Kitty no show up properly. Help pls.

I fixed the farm animal situation, but my cats and dogs are still broken. Also I possibly didn't set up my portraiture portraits correctly. Please help.

Its supposed to let you give treats and change their fertility and such, but far as I can see as a non-modder, it doesn't.

could i ask you to give this build a try, though? you'll need to play a day with the mod loaded and finish it by sleeping, but you can of course uninstall it again afterwards. all the custom CC bundle data should be correctly cleared from your save once you've gone to sleep.

We didn't encounter any problems with sleeping. But host had with inventory and clients with entering community centre. Just fyi on that one.

unfortunately the only real solution for crashes in multiplayer for the time being is to disable the custom cooking bundle in multiplayer altogether. whatever it takes to fix that isn't coming along just yet, it's ridiculous.

and since the game has no way of preemptively detetcting if you're starting a multiplayer game, it has to disable it if you have any cabins in your world. i've added an in-game opt-in for that, but it's hardly ideal for the long-term

@wary plaza most errors came from multiplayer, but there were chances for a perfect storm of problems for singleplayer worlds, too.
1.0.3 introduced a bug where the CC bundles were loading in while you had it disabled in the config, and 1.0.5 introduced a bug where it wouldn't unload the data from the world if you had it disabled. one-two punch where people would have a crash setup for them if they had it disabled.
I think when I redo my mods folder today after work I’ll try to keep mods grouped together this time.
Currently I had taken out the folders in that second SVE folder and moved those into the mods folder
hah i'm just glad for the feedback and bug reports really, it's stressful enough having to solve all these problems i've lumped on people, so having channels to communicate is a huge help.

Hi everyone, I'm seeming to have trouble getting my mods to load in-game. I'm using Vortex and launching the game through SMAPI. The main two mods I'm using are Stardew Valley Expanded and the Immersive Farm 2 (along with the 9 other mods that those two mods require you have to function). I can see all the mods in my Mods folder in the stardew steam folder, and I have all of the mods enabled in Vortex, but I can't seem to start a new file with the Immersive Farm 2 so I don't think the mods are working (however I do have a checkbox for Skipping the intro which I'm unsure if that's a mod or not?)
Is anyone able to help me with this? Perhaps I'm missing some small but obvious thing?
i highly recommend it, even if you don't call people on. it's got a few convenient apps, including a calendar app, and prairie king/junimo cart apps, making the phone a "many in one" "access this anywhere" mod.
now we just need special orders and bulletin board apps.
Just to rule this out...are you ensuring that the standard farm is selected during character creation? The immersive farm mod replaces that slot so if you pick any other farm type you won’t actually get the immersive farm.

you can use windows+shift+s to open the snipping tool, drag over it, and then ctrl+v to paste here
it's a symlink, and I think it's one of the main reasons people have issues with vortex now that I've seen it 50 times

A Tea Bush is a type of bush that grows from a Tea Sapling. It takes 20 days to grow to maturity, after which it will produce one Tea Leaf each day during the last week (22nd-28th) of Spring, Summer, and Fall (and Winter if indoors).

They aren't a modded item, but when I hover over them the game zooms out a bit, smapi goes crazy with errors, and I can't do anything with them. I wanted to just get rid of the chest but I can't with them stuck in there. I've established that it isn't the Expanded Storage mod doing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Easily. I've done it a couple times while waiting for authors to update.
I was wondering if it would be doable, I looked at that mod wiki, read to give tilesets a z_ prefix but I have no experience with such things so wasnt sure

I hate writing about assigned topics. I hope where ever I work doesn't ever require me to do that to my students.

@late nebula i loved Dear Diary but I kinda stopped writing it when I got too caught up in bug fixing my own mods. I also made a blog for one of my farmers. We got through one season then I set her aside.
It can take me literally hours upon hours just to get started on an essay. I usually end up getting graded very well though whenever I do finish the damn thing 😅

So for the abandoned place to the east of my farm (SDVE) Robin wanted to do repairs, Im playing with a friend and he's the host but I put in the 150 hardwood into the chest and Robin said next she will need 50 iron, but the chest hasnt changed

@nimble wigeon Sounds like you might be having the same issue as me. She asked me to put gold bars in a chest... and even though all of the other chests spawned fine, this one never did
