I'm playing with it currently and its fun, but I wouldnt recommend someone new to modding to get anything unstable
cause you might eventually happen on an error you cant figure out
any ambitious mod is going to have growing pains, and the worst part for a dev is 'it works for me'
So, may I ask, I'm trying to dowload and add Content Patcher (since most mods require it) and I was wondering how I move my fricking files. I'm just staring blankly at my screen wondering what to do, do I just drag the folder, it's not unzipped yet? I'm so sorry for asking so many questions!
LoC is fine if you don't use it for multiplayer. just don't use it for multiplayer

It's a tool. You load the seeds into the bag and you can cast them over an area all at once

Hardew Valley has its own price scaling that I have disabled
But it only covers vanilla stuff, so I'm running the vanilla 25% since that hits everything
I think we once wondered 1) would the effect stack? and 2) if it would stack, would it be additive or multiplicative?
hardew specifically says enabling its difficulty and having vanilla margins will ruin you
alright.. anybody needs/wants me just ping me.. gonna finish my updates and try to actually play lol

that's the same sve does, it directly cuts like 40 vanilla item by changing their prices directly (which incidently you should probably turn off if you're running margins or you're literally doublecutting just vanilla stuff making it significantly worse than any modded items)
I also imagine sve+hardew will just overwrite each other's changes.

it lowers the sell price of everything (which incidently lowers the seed buy price as well)
Is it possible to edit the prices things sell for directly as a non-modder? I'm trying to edit a modded item since I think they undervalued it

iirc you don't get planters until you unlock the greenhouse

it depends on how many and what type of mods. big ones like SVE add a bit to the load, but if you have a ton of JA crops and recipes those start to add up too
oh also @lapis void just checking is there anything else you'd like me to do/check for in my game with those adopt and skin bugs I'm getting? Also i still haven't yet run into any wild horses or found strays at marnie's and ive been pretty regular about checking

yeah, i've been testing myself and i was able to replicate horses/strays not showing up, but i haven't been able to replicate the invisible animals bug. do you play in fullscreen or windowed? i remember there being a bug with invisible animals in fullscreen before but that's the only lead i have
i have many of the same mods as you do but the only ones i could think of that might affect it are pet spawn location and cat gifts, which i disabled but i'm still not getting strays

i play in fullscreen cause windowed mode in most games just means it doesnt fit right on my screen so i reflexively avoid it

Turns out when I recently updated IF2R I forgot to reinstall this mod to bring it back xD
we have noooo clue how to fix the fullscreen invisible-animals bug, but try in max-size windowed and see if the bug still happens, and i'll test it in fullscreen and see if i can replicate
I'm not sure what's causing your problem since you dont have anything that changes the furniture images (i think), but try updating the mods that it suggests to update on the log, and see if that solves your issue

So I think this is a new error. Received this when exiting back to the title screen.
Never seen an error involving the "Angry Grandpa" mod nor the "Mona" mod before... 
errors returning to title are common
also, doing that will make it easier to crash to oom
yep windowed mode worked! One of my horses changed but the other (that i assume still has the same ID but ill go check) did not change
speaking about the OOM error, I've yet to receive that one since SMAPI 3.8.3 (the non-alpha one), lol

okay it SAYS that they both have the same id and skin id but one of them does not
okay cool, that's one bug "fixed" at least. i have absolutely no idea where the horse clone is coming from since you're in singleplayer and that's a multiplayer bug afaik, what happens if you try to ride the clone?
I played around a bit and managed to fix it all together. sorry for bothering and thanks!
you can also turn on debugging mode-- last option in the config, "DebuggingMode": true, and with that on use the command debug_asreset and see if that gets rid of the clone horse
i literally cant even tell which is the original and which is the clone, they function identically
This is gonna be interesting. Just started the stopwatch on my iphone to see how long it takes to go from the literal left click that launches SMAPI SDV until I get to the title screen (where I can move the mouse) 😆
i assume its somewhat random which horse the horse whistle option calls? cause it will do either
the clone horse isnt causing me problems exactly, its just weird
You wont see it all the time, but Mona's festival locations borks the Flower Festival. It causes the dialogue box for starting the dance to endlessly repeat
I mean, it always does, but you won't see an error except when it happens
I have a question about the Adopt and Skin mod. I got a letter saying I could adopt another cat? But I don't have the option when I go talk to Marnie or when I try to use her shop.

Hi. I have a question about keybindings. I just realized two mods I’ve downloaded have the same key binding so I’m only able to access one atm. How can I fix this?
open the folder for one of them and there will probably be a file called config.json
You can likely change the keybind there
Some mods let you edit key bindings, which are controller/keyboard/mouse buttons which do something in-game. This page explains how to configure them. (This works for any mod using SMAPI's standard APIs.)

for some reason it isn't working when set to 100, it may work at lower values though. when one does show up, you should get a message in the chat bar saying that a stray is available to adopt, then it should be wandering around marnie's and you can interact with it to adopt it

I guess SVE uses a special map for the farmhouse that's larger than the vanilla map sections?
make sure to delete your PPJA mods completely before updating
the specific one causing that error is custom cask mod, and it's fixed in an update to that mod

i mean thats just how big that section of map is cause there isn't any more of it
the maps are all the size of the space you can move around in, and thats one of the smallest. cant zoom out to see more where there isnt more

some pyTK added items are OK when in your inventory on game save but i don't know if the meat cleaver is one of them

you can throw the meat cleaver out before saving! you will get it back the next morning
alternatively, you can try risking having it in your inventory!
(PyTK's save handler changes have been having Difficulties lately- Digus is switching Animal Husbandry over to a different tool-implementation system using the ModData field in the vanilla save handler but this is taking some time so in the meantime there is at least one workaround)

my favorite stuff is changing all the default textures to be prettier, so like, i'd suggest various recolors. Do you want to cheat and have an easier time? Do you want things more convenient but not particularly feeling like cheating? Do you want it harder?

if it requires smapi, it goes in the mods folder. if it doesn't require smapi, it replaces game files (and is highly discouraged)

xnb is a really outdated way of modding usually. Some newer mods use xnb but when i see it its usually someone whos never modded the game before and never has talked to the modding community, and just needed to do this one thing

are you searching nexus to find the mods? You're gonna want to check how recently it was updated. Some still work from their pre 1.5 versions, but most mods youre gonna want it to have been updated since ~december 20 2020

@modern stratus This is just a general suggestion.. I haven't looked into specifics yet, but having the most recent version of the game and holding SMAPI and your mods back is probably causing a lot of issue for you.

@late nebula Ok. I was reading on reddit that it should be ok with custom furniture not having been updated yet, but I now see that I'm 2 versions of smapi behind. In the log, I'm seeing that prior to my save that there is an error with generating the XML document for GiantCropRing, but the mod compatibility list says that it is current. The prior in-game day was the first time that I had worn it, if that helps at all.

Both Android SMAPI ports are currently broken. ZaneYork is aware of the issue. There is no ETA for a fix. A large portion of the graphics code got abruptly changed which caused the port to break.

the way to fix that crash atm is either to join space's server (linked at the bottom of his mod pages) and get the experimental PyTK and spacecore versions, or delete the meat cleaver and participant ribbon every night before saving

i'm the same with roleplaying characters into games, especially ones with complex backstories, like my pink character.
for those interested: my thief farmer has no innate magic himself, but knows how to manipulate magical artifacts, and from there learnt how to manipulate external magic, and he can build technology that picks up on/works with magic. he froze his aging and escaped atlantis to track down a little ghost girl he thought needed more justice. and maybe a hug. he's been told he can find her in stardew, hence the career change.
so a few of the more magical/mystical people know him by his thief reputation, and basically i have to mentally rewrite a lot of events, especially with lucikiel, the wizard, and the ridgeside ninjas XD

....i loaded up my game with the expanded farm map accidentally disabled (because of config stupidity) and for some bizarre reason this meant that after a while i could not walk through wheat. i could walk through all other crops, it was only wheat
none of those expansion mods touches the secret woods, so deep woods is compatible
Okay so i started the new day to check on the horse(s) situation and the clone is now the same color as the one i changed again
god this is some weird nonsense that probably doesnt matter but is very strange
anyway time to update like 12 mods
in conclusion i don't think the game likes it when suddenly all your animals and coops and barns are way out in the void

If the mod incorporated this segment of code (as shown in your linked page) in its then version can't it simply be replaced with the raw data of 1.5.1 to give it the matching values for each crop?
It could, but there is some randomness to the logic, the quantities are not just fixed values, so...
