NPC Map Locations has optional files to work with recolors
The recolor is the reason you can't see everything else, pretty sure you have to go into the config and change the map recolor to false

it can't hurt to also restart your computer and make sure steam downloads the update and hotfix from today

Yeah. I use a combination of Vortex and direct downloads, the mods themselves don't seem to be an iddue, but vortex has problems installing SMAPI some of the time

probably a manifest typo
(SMAPI uses the version number in the manifest to determine what version the mod is; sometimes the mod author makes a typo or forgets to update it)

for a map, you'd run XNBCli with the map xnb in the Packed folder, find the unpacked files in the Unpacked folder, discard the .json metadata file, open the .tmx or .tbin in Tiled to make sure it had the correct tilesheet names, and then write a Content Patcher content.json and manifest.json
(you can honestly fill-in-the-blanks with those for a simple "replace map with other map" mod, assuming it has enough changes to actually be worth using the Load action)

the usual answer to "how long until x updates" is that we don't know--modders have busy lives, they don't always give a heads up when they're going to update, and if you don't report bugs they're not going to find them instantly

if you really need to find a specific NPC who isn't showing up, get the mod chat commands, then type into the chat box /debug where ian or whoever you're trying to find from RSV
then the chat box will tell you exactly where ian is

you almost definately installed either customnpc fixes or the other npc thing standalone, which causes sve to just die

832 mods, 73 npcs to meet, 52 possible spouse rooms, and the only hard crash was because of an unintentional SMAPI OutOfMemory error that seems like it was fixed in the latest SMAPI version.

you get to about 60 just from all the locations
I only have a little over 60 currently
i also want them to appear on NPC map locations but that might be asking too much
you also have a duplicate of custom music
rsv, sve, lunna, es, aquarium, mermaid island
those are most of the big location mods, and gives you about 60-65 npcs just to get started
SVE includes both custom music and custom NPC fixes in its own mod folder, so if you then download those to use another mod, you'll have two copies, which causes SMAPI to not load the mod

after that, its picking the good standalone ones, which includes all of Lemurkat's, fellowclowns, Lukiliel. few of the other ones that people put real work into
mermaid island only unlocks after you finish the fishing bundles in the CC, aquarium can be started at any time, east scarpe can be started at any time

I seem to remember there being more than those files at one point to also consider recolors, that might be what's breaking it for you
basically the logic has to choose between like sve+recolorA+immersive or just sve+rsv and it's picking the one that has more mods, If I had to guess

I'll try that. The weird thing is that I believe my SMAPI was actually making an entry in the log stating that it was loading my SDR recolor map yet in the game it was using the map in the _default folder instead. Very strange...

i'm using eemie's old victorian buildings mod, and her victorian seasonal buildings mod and for some reason when i try changing the seasonal one to actually show me seasonal versions of the buildings, it makes the desert obelisk and the gold clock look like base game versions because the code for those 2 items' seasonal versions don't exist. is there a way to sort of "copy + paste" the coding for those 2 items to show even with the seasonal version of the mod? or am i hoping for too much from mods
i'm still sort of a noob with editing/changing a mod

@wary plaza do you happen to have a fix for me in this? not sure i explained my issue clearly enough. the code for both the clock and that obelisk exist as a plain version in the mod, but there are no seasonal versions of those 2 so when i change the config file to show me the changed seasonal versions of all other buildings, those 2 items revert back to base game because the seasonal versions of those 2 items don't exist in the mod, just a "clean" fixed version that never changes.

yeah, in this seasonal mod it says accepted versions are "clean, seasonal". clean just shows me the regular base version of the modded buildings, and seasonal ofc changes with the seasons, but in this mod, there are no modded files for those 2 buildings if i choose "seasonal", so they disappear and appear as base game versions, while the other buildings continue showing as seasonal modded items.

grandpa's. the ||island farm|| interior actually seems to not load the kitchen properly, likely due to some mod i have but nothing shows as an error with that so i'm assuming some other mod needs to update for that to fix itself.
Not every mod is supported with that updater though
which farm? SVE comes with two different options: Grandpa's Farm and the IF2R

yeah, all i can personally handle editing is what's laid out for me in the mod already. i'm not educated enough in this kinda code to change it myself without seriously messing something up. which i think i've already done because from me trying to mess with it myself, my game now loads a bit slow and actually freezes often.
- from reading this, there isn't a seasonal for those - the problem is that when seasonal is turned on it just doesn't patch those at all instead of using the nonseasonals

fish tanks are vanilla now, thanks to 1.5, and the inventory part works when you're taking things out, but to put things in you need to chuck 'em in with left click, like a pond

idk what that means exactly, but i am here to warn you away from custom farming redux: when i had it installed, it hid the new crops and things from 1.5 from me. and cfr generally is outdated and pretty much everything has moved over to pfm by now.

pfm and cfr are differently built frameworks, so you'll need a pfm version instead. there likely is a pfm version out there. you might have to hunt for it a bit >.> but if cfr is hiding 1.5 content from you like it did me, do you really need a mod that's holding you back? XD

sve by itself doesn't change the greenhouse at all XD you need if2r specifically to go with it; not even grandpa's farm map touches the greenhouse

ah, that's usually due to something like a missing comma >.>

Turns out i had a single file that had a bunch of re-textures as well as the same re-textures outside of the folder
open the manifest in something like wordpad, and check around line 69. compare it to other similarly formatted lines, and see if that one is missing a comma or has an extra slash or something.
If the json is erroring out, either the author made a mistake or the user edited it. Least that's my not a mod creator thought process.

I've been using SMAPI's console commands to cheat in order to test things out, and the cheated savefiles triggered achievements that the game have sent to Steam. Is it feasible for someone to implement something that prevents the game from submitting achievements to Steam? If yes I think I want to send a feature request to SMAPI.

First check the config.json for the first mod to see if there's an option to deactivate the cursor. If not, it's not the cleanest way to do it but it will work, go into the assets folder for the first mod and delete or rename the png for the cursor.

cursorset is the one that changes your cursor, rename it anything else and it won't change it anymore. It will pop a warning in SMAPI that it doesn't find the file but it's fine

Alright, the way this works is these are the vanilla cursors:
there are different cursors depending on what you're pointing at, and in the mod you're using there's an image with the same layout and the pictures in the same positions will replace the cursor when you point at the same kind of thing

so if you want to replace the main cursor (top left) with the heart shaped one, you need to edit that image to swap the positions of those icons
if you don't have the software for that, I can try and do it for you, just tell me which icons you want to swap

it shuts a seagull up every time the game tries to play a seagull noise. it doesn't remove the game's ability to attempt seagull noises.
But a mod doesn't need to spam the console to do that

Custom music might be able to do that. I have a mod using CM to replace thunder and frog sounds, but I dont know if those two are individual sounds or just ambient music on a loop

eh, until there is a less spammy mod that can shut up specifically seagulls, i'm gonna keep this one and make the smapi parser work if i need to parse a log. i myself am not a modder.

But CM might not be usable the way that mod is, because Shut Up condtitionally covers a lot of different sounds. You may need a specific mod for each sound

That's my understanding. They don't conflict in any kind of breaking way, but the LoC menu totally overrides the vanilla cooking menu
