hmm actually, does the "no friendship decay" option in CJB cheats menu prevent friendship loss with the trash thing? I'd assumed it didn't because I still got the disgusted message but I didn't check that it actually went down
Pretty sure that was an SVE issue that Flash resolved? I just target the tilesheets so it wouldn't have any effect on Dusty's placement. If there's something I need to change I'll correct it but I can't see anything on my end.

Is retracing your steps really the only way out of the deepwoods otherwise? I went in for like two maps and left but assumed there was an escape like every five levels or something

@brisk timber retracing or warps. also, after, i believe, 30 in-game minutes, the maps shuffle and you can no longer retrace your steps. you then need to warp out.

You can do that if you want to use a specific skin on an animal, but normally ( Ithink when you like create an animal or it's born the skinner goes abd picks randomly

hi, I have maybe a silly question. I have some json assets packs for clothing but I'm not able to recolor any of the skirts, they always stay white. I'm using CJB to spawn the items, regular inventory menu to apply them, then customize anywhere to change bottom colors, but it doesn't seem to recognize the skirt. I'm hoping I don't have to dye everything

unlock dye menu is awesome, if you have customize anywhere you just need to open the dye menu and press enter and it will let you dye
For Unlock Dye Menu, you can just hit the hotkey

it unlocks when you unlock emily's sewing kit, but the machines are spawnable (with dye kit included), making fun decorations for your house, too.

Hey. I just updated smapi and the game to the latest update. Ive gone ahead and updated the mods i used as well but smapi keeps logging errors endlessly and makes the game unresponsive

@sweet bloom wayback works with vanilla well, but keep in mind there's some graphical errors on the beach in fall. the author's working to fix them. idk about sve since i don't use that at the moment.

there's a seperate mod to make SVE match wayback, cometkins better icons and medieval craftables

well that seals it. vortex has been known to be buggy for stardew mods, it’s recommended to install them manually to prevent issues.

Its probably not set up correctly
Simplest option for you might be to open the smapi installer again, press install, and it literally shoots out the path to copy for you. Copy paste.
If Vortex works fine for some, great 👀 it just doesn't for several 🤷 I don't think that's whining, that's just observation 😐

Because vortex is known to cause issues with a number of mods. Smapi being one, but on my list of 130+ mods there are several that say it literally will not work if installed with vortex.

I'm new here but I came quickly to solve Smapi's mistake. It stopped working yesterday after updating, so some of the mods had flaws that didn't exist before the update
Regardless of who caused the issue, the fact is that you have to manual install a number of mods, so that's why people say it. I don't think I've seen people go on about vortex being awful--just it not being ideal in this situation.

Both Android SMAPI ports are currently broken. ZaneYork is aware of the issue. There is no ETA for a fix. A large portion of the graphics code got abruptly changed which caused the port to break.

Just uninstall and reinstall smapi, the new 1.5.1 update messed up some mods

@native grail grandpa's farm doesn't edit the greenhouse map, so you should be able to run a greenhouse mod straight up

well the main thing i see is that you have multiple copies of SVE which causes them not to load, causing none of the tilesheets required for Grandpa’s Farm to load.

I was using the smapi that said it needed version 1.4.5.145, and it took it, but when I updated it it said that there were errors that were not there before and I didn't understand why, now it doesn't want to open

Hey guys I have another problem, so now that I attached smapi to steam, my achievements that I have gotten on the save didn't go to steam which means I have to get them again, is there anyway of doing like a check that looks if I have the achievements and adds them to steam?
We should be on the last step. So when you run smapi, are you starting Stardew Valley in steam, or are you running a separate SMAPI that you've manually added?

The fact that you have the SMAPI installer folder in your mods folder means you didn’t properly read the instructions...
you should also take your mods out of the unzipped folders with really long names, that can cause issues with loading mods on some machines

So, I was able to get my SMAPI to work, except the mods arent deploying because of folder location. when i move them into my steam folder, everything is copacetic. But does this mean I will need to manually move the mods? I tried changign the directory but I got an error message saying that cant work

yeah, vortex uses a staging folder, and all that does is hold the unzipped mods
if yes, congrats and let the author know, if not, there are mods changing the cursors file too
it doesn't apply those to your /mods folder until you hit the deploy button
so im using adopt n skin and im having an issue where my sheep turn vanilla when i shear them. is there a way to fix this? someone on the mod page posted about this as well but they never got an answer.

hit purge in vortex and then reopen your /mods folder
the next day they go to the correct sheared texture
tell me if it's empty, still has extra folders, or if nothing's changed

I think we may be misunderstanding each other. use this button to open the game mods folder
and when you hit purge, it should remove most if not all mods from that folder
we're not concerned with the staging folder at all

Since you're the creator, I have a question for you. If you wanted to use a farm map that wasn't the immersive or grandpa's farm--and the map was bigger. Is there a way to fix the port locations from the bus stop and marnies ranch to the farm?
I had customized a map before swapping and I kept porting into the middle when I came from Marnies.
Yeah, there's new map properties added in SDV 1.5 that allows map modders to easily change those warps.

the issue is that custom music isn't loading because it can't find an audio device, so half of SVE isn't loading because that requires custom music

There’s a mod which allows you to switch audio device in game. It also shows what is currently being output to which may be helpful in the case you’re describing

yeah I'd try moving the vanilla bundles folder out of mods for a second to see if that clears it up. You still need the base ChallengingCommunityCenterBundles folder

So I'm having a problem where some of the bushes containing Golden Walnuts are just completely gone. I don't have any mods that touch Ginger Island as far as I know and was wondering if someone here could help me.

y'all ever feel big dumb? 🤦♀️ i was having a graphical glitch on the beach farm and so i meticulously removed all of my mods and added them back bit by bit... didn't even scroll through my mods list because i was so sure i didn't have any obvious culprits activated (mods that changed the farm map file).
... i had the pond with bridge mod activated. so obvious. so dumb

Hello friendly people. I have a question if anyone can help me. I'm trying to use "stone walkway floor" (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Stone_Walkway_Floor) -- but the visuals are messed up. It's bugged out -- it is either invisible or it shows the stone floor or it shows something that looks circular and wooden.
I am sure there is a problem with a mod, but I have many mods and don't know how to narrow it down (I don't want to uninstall all of them and try them one by one). Is there anyway to see in SMAPI what is touching "841" (the id for Stone Walkway Floor)?

yeah, smapi is always generating a log

@gray sapphire Custom Furniture isn't working properly for 1.5 and one of the issues is things going invisible, so that may be a source of your issues

@azure basin I don't see anything obvious in your log, unfortunately. you can update spacecore to see if one of its bugfixes addresses your problem, but that's a total guess from me
I'm using Spacechase's lastest spacecore from his discord server ... maybe I'll ask him there ...
they might be able to help you. otherwise your log looks relatively clean, which is the last thing you want in a situation like this

I'm proud that everything is playing together so nicely. I've been careful about what I add and try to get the latest updates and unofficial updates and check the forums, etc.
fitting mods together is its own puzzle game as far as I'm concerned
I'm having trouble trying to make Item Bags mod (PYTK dependent) play nice with the newest spacecore version. It's mind boggling the errors it throws up
@gray sapphire well all I can say then is that I'd advise you update the mods smapi wants you to update and remove the standalone version of customnpcexclusions because SDE already ships its own version
I always forget that when I add mods that need it :/
@quiet umbra bags and spacecore have issues working together at the moment. I'm not sure which mod needs a fix, but something doesn't work

the bags author mentions it on the most recent bug report on the mod page
thing is, many times the log comes up with wildly different errors... seems to make the whole game very unstable
This is an intentional failsafe to prevent Item Bags from running when SpaceCore 1.5.0+ is installed. They are not compatible with each other since this mod uses PyTK to handle saving/loading custom items, and SpaceCore 1.5.0+ patches save logic in a way that is not compatible with PyTK's framework.
if it affects custom items, there are probably all kinds of ways it can break

the log has been saying to use xml include to bridge the problem, but I have no clue about xml stuff
spacechase is trying to fix it on their end, but routine probably needs to get involved too
what a shame, spacecore or PYTK is just involved in almost every mod I use
yeah :( the main issue is pyTK added custom items dont work anymore if spacecore is there
that may be a good thing, because the two authors know how big of an impact this will have if it isn't addressed
xml include is a code thing the modders need to fix - routine is currently super busy and spacechase hasn't managed to fix the problem entirely on their end

it is very long
tmxl buildables mostly work but personally i've had some minor issues with irrigation buildables (where they don't reliably count for paddy crop autowatering)
and i cant reach the end
if you can scroll to where they start, you can copy the first few repeats so we know they're the same
and paste that into the log entry box

yeah, you can open the text file and scroll down until you see repetitive errors and then copy everything from the first few repeats up

so you want to delete the standalone versions of those

you also have two copies of expanded preconditions utility, and between those four mods not loading, most of your other mods won't either
