ok so iirc for More Grass, the content packs need to be structured like so:
the mod you're using is for CP and not More Grass, so the structure isn't correct for More Grass to pick it up
even though the original mod in question would be installed as a [CP] folder and not an [MG] folder?
right so that's what I'm saying, the mod you're trying to use is written and structured for CP, not MG
you'd have to reconfigure the file / folder structure as well as the png's to get it to work with MG
if you download an MG pack, you'll see what I mean
well that's actually really interesting to learn the mechanic between [CP] mods and [MG] mods

FINALLY about to start my 1.5 playthrough now that Challenging Community Center Bundles updated. Any suggested mods that might have flown under my radar?
[CP] mods overwrite and the [MG] mods add to a proverbial collective pool of images to use. That's pretty much the gist between how these two mod "groups" behave, right?

So I probably wouldn't really want to use any [CP] grass mods then since I'm using More Grass instead?

ah, then what does the side by side mean within hoeDirt, is that the seasonal differences of the texture?
it has two main features, stashing all your stuff in chests with a button and crafting from nearby chests. crafting from nearby chests isnt working
so half of the functionality of the mod isn't really working with the new update

The saplings do just fine in my greenhouse and farm on Stardew mainland.

I would point you to my beautiful categorized mod list but it's for 1.4.5 ๐ so you'd have to check carefully if the mod works in 1.5
HOWEVER.... if you use clothes mods, theres the tailor mouse

It's also worth mentioning that the last update for SVE fixed a lot of issues people kept reporting, so you should probably update to avoid them.

@jaunty rover I read the description wrong, I guess. if you're starting a new game, you have to save and load once for the bundles to work. if it's an existing save the act of loading it makes the bundles show up

I'm personally staying off 1.5 for another 2 months so all I got is my 1.4.5 recs and repeating what I've seen other people say here regarding 1.5 mods lol

giving people more time to update 
you may have noticed I use a couple mods 
when the 1.4 update dropped, it took about 2 months for all the mods I wanted to be updated, and back then I only had about 60 (I have 443 now
)

depends on whether they will overwrite each other (could be a problem), or if they both just add new things (would likely be ok), or if 1 adds things while the other replaces things (would also likely be ok)

I'm not really familiar with Vortex and generally recommend installing manually, but I know it has an article for how to install SMAPI through it in its modding docs. Have you checked there?

It looks like you have multiple installs of the game, so that would be why your changes aren't reflected in both folders

Most of the steps are the same, you want the command line in launch options and you'll still run it through steam. Vortex is more of a fancy thing to keep track of mods imo

You have to run the smapi installer again. Also, you don't need to have smapi installed through vortex. I recommend uninstalling 9t from vortex and deleting the archive, then downloading smapi seperately

Hey, i've played SDV on switch before. I got it on pc when it was on sale. i want to use mods. Are they compatible with the most recent update, and when the game updates in future, will that effect the mods in anyway?
Mod compatibility depends on the modders and yes every major update some big mods will need to be updated to work

on nexus, the "works with 1.5" tag is available, so you can search by that. Note that there may be mods that are compatible with 1.5 but don't have the tag, so it's up to you to check mod descriptions and comments

(In addition to Lenne's comment, think of how little anyone knows about the context of your question without the log. Mods must be involved since you're in this channel, but which mods? Logs have all that bare minimum context.)
I've installed it and installed the mods. But it doesn't seem to work if I launch it through steam itself. But if I launch with the SMAPI version, then the mods work but the steam overlay doesn't work
(It doesn't mean that the error will show there, but for the initial "whose problem is it" most people won't know where to point you immediately without it)
(yea my initial thought was "perhaps it's something directly within SVE, but for all we know, it could be a weird conflict with another mod")

That's why launching through Steam doesn't load mods (it's launching the vanilla / base game), but launching SMAPI does load mods (but isn't connected to Steam)

I want to test this fix without playing a whole day, I SMAPI keeps the most recently saved day as a backup right? So I could play the day without Deep Woods installed making sure the Season Progresses. Then delete my save file and rename the backup file to the same filename as the main save and have the last day to play over?

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

I have a weird problem where artifact spots don't show up. I don't have any evidence for this except for the fact that I haven't seen one yet and I'm at winter lol. Would vibrant pastoral be the culprit and can I fix it with mouses content patcher re-applier thing?
CFDE was updated earlier in the week (I would expect most dialogue mods that selectively edit to be okay though, just not have new content. Not 100% though.)

oki so it looks like you have an SVE folder, but then also an SVE - NPC Name folder in there for several NPCs. You'd have to hunt down and delete all of them and install the latest version to make sure

Does SVE (and I guess large content mods in general) usually cause a heavy delay in loading? It takes a good 30-45 seconds for me to load in after selecting a save, where vanilla probably takes 5.

yes it did! As you can see from the Skipped mods section, SVE didn't load because you are missing several mods. The error messages include which mods you need to download, with convenient links!

I would say yes. Creating a new character with the โSkip Introโ caused a noticeable โfreezeโ in the game after clicking start.

It throws an error like this for each new NPC: 17:44:35 ERROR Content Patcher Two content packs want to load the 'Characters\Sophia' asset (Stardew Valley Expanded and Stardew Valley Expanded - Sophia NPC). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.
ah, thanks for the recap! Do you have a folder called "Stardew Valley Expanded - Sophia NPC"? That still needs to be deleted. Same for all the other NPCs for which there's an error
The Canon-Friendly Dialogue Expansion mod doesn't currently work in 1.5
People said so on Nexus and I tested it personally and I'm not getting any extra dialogue

You probably think:
OH NO! A huge new map + a ton of new characters!
But they're not always in Pelican town so you won't get overwhelmed! ๐ You'll slowly get to know the characters via their dialogue along with new events & quests based on their heart levels!
You will get a tiny tour the moment you step foot in the village to make it easier to adjust to the new area.
The mod was only released 17 days ago so it's still in development. We're doing our best to fix any grammatical/spelling errors + adding a ton of new dialogue & interactions, so please bear with us!

@hushed goblet That is a very old mod folder haha. You'll need to remove all IF2R, SVE and Karmylla's Immersive Maps (SVE adds its own town + interior maps now).

If you haven't manually installed anything in that folder, hit purge in vortex

When you purge files, everything that's left is not installed in vortex and can be cleaned up if it wasnt deliberately put there

I mostly rely on sorting my Download History on nexus based on Update Date. SMAPI's little notifications are also helpful though

(Since IsGreenhouse is just a map property, you can also make buildable greenhouses or make various interiors greenhouses)

Some of the patches of dirt turned red for no obvious reason. Fall, just after season turnover, using the Crop Grace Period mod, I used an ax to clear out all my crops.

You can have giant maps without MTN and 1.5 added new map properties that let mappers move hardcoded farm features, plus maps are just maps and can be converted to replacers or whatever.

Check for a CP version of the mod, or tinker with it to convert it to replace another type yourself. The maps themselves should work, just might need some tidying. There are not a lot of MTN maps out there though, so there are tons of CP ones to choose from.

yeah the dev of more recipes commented about how they forgot to update the version number and it has to wait until the next big update because of some nexus policies. it's nothing to worry about
you can manually update the version number yourself if you like, by opening the manifest.json with any text editor (Notepad or Notepad++)

The mini map isn't created from actual game textures.
So you would need a custom one if you want it to match. It's just a piece of art.

Deluxe autograbber works. I've been using it myself on my newest 1.5 file. Granted I've only used the global forage option so far but that works. Within the comments of that mod page is a link to an unofficial update

Cooking Skill is a mod by spacechase0 and it's published. Bblueberry is working on a different mod that involves a cooking skill and a bunch of other fun stuff.

Dropping it here for anyone using a pre 1.5 farmhouse replacer to test. Everything should be turned off by default, so to turn on bed removal you'll need to set "MapEdits-RemoveFarmhouseBeds": "true", as well as
"MapEdits-RemoveFarmhouseChildBeds": "true", if your farmhouse didn't remove the nursery. (There are enough child-optional houses that it seemed best to separate.)
(It will probably glitch out your wallpaper, but it should be fine after you re-apply it once.)

The seed is just an integer. I have no idea how you would expect to convert a word
It's only 9 characters long. That means the the full range of numbers you can effective input is 000000000 to 999999999
correct. The seed has always traditionally been the number of seconds since the game's release date.
I mean, you could take some sort of hash or something of the string? Prefix or suffix it to 9 characters...not sure what the point would be tho?

I've recently gotten back into things since the update, updated all my mods and removed like 120. I'm pretty sure my game was fine the other day, but loaded in last night and some of my map tiles are messed up. I originally thought that it was due to some recolour mod, so I halved all my mods onto my desktop and ran again, still like it. So I moved them all to my desktop, still like it. I'm not exactly sure what else to try, as most the usual things I've done. Was just wondering if there's any known things I'm not thinking of? I assume it's still a mod issue even though I tested with none in my game. Thanks for any help!

There are definitely recolors still active in that screenshot, so if you've overwritten any content files you'll need to reset to get rid of them.
I'll restore any content files from a backup and see if that fixes things, though I'm very annoyed at myself if I did mess with them in the past.

So I'm reading about the "Stardew Foliage Redone - A Nature Toned Map Recolor" and I saw this part here:
I tried the "Natural Color - Reshade" mod but I'm not a big fan of the blurry effects it adds. What is everyone's thoughts and/or opinions on what other recolor mods to combine with the "Stardew Foliage Redone - A Nature Toned Map Recolor" mod, if any?
I personally use the Foliage Only version of Foliage Redone with A Less Yellow Stardew.
Keeping in mind my mod recs are 1.4.5, the Foliage Only version could pair well with all kinds of different recolors, depending on what you're looking for (Eemie's Just Another Map Recolor is another popular one)

bottom left you're seeing Flower Valley bushes, and the trees towards the middle are also Flower Valley
the beautiful cherry blossom stuff is from Foliage Only
For the grass, it's More Grass with the Flowergrass and Snowfields pack

My only gripe is how the green of the grass seems to clash with the darker green everywhere else, lol ๐
ah, well ALYS has multiple options for grass color and dirt color
there are lighter options
I need to be a lot better at organising and sorting mods

releases A Lovely Yellow Stardew just to make the acronym more confusing
I hackily tweaked the tilesheets needed for 1.4 and they don't look great but I love ALYS too much to let it go

Not gonna lie...that's really neat how you can do that with SDV. I ended up having to resort to MultiMC (for Minecraft) and MultiBound (for Starbound) to create different "instances" that use different modlists

it was double click and back in 1.4 it had this utterly bizarre and funny conflict with spritemaster where changing the house skin turned the house and only the house blurry

Sorry to interrupt but I am having troubles with immersive farm 2 remastered version 1.12.2. It keeps saying I dont have the required mods to run it. However, I have content patcher, custom npc exclusions, expanded preconditions & utility, farm type manager, immersive farm 2 remastered, jsons assets, pytk, space core, stardew valley expanded, tmxl map toolkit and winter grass. Itโs all up to date so I donโt know what the problem is, can anyone assist me with this.

also, i think you have to pick one of Grandpa's Farm and IF2R
uhhh what else you don't seem to actually have JsonAssets installed
so yeah, install Json Assets, then uninstall and reinstall SVE, and while you're at it don't reinstall Grandpa's Farm

I can't load trace on my phone, but you could turn on that and look for anything edited Maps\Farm. Farm map is most likely, but if it worked before maybe there is something messed up with last update or one of the needed. (You could try rolling back if you're on yesterday's version)
Is there a mod similar to prestige that makes it so you don't lose recipe knowledge when you reset your skill?
hi, sorry to bother everyone but.. no matter what resolution I have the game playing in, if I go to another screen in any way, stardew freezes. I've never had this issue before so I thought I'd ask here
is this in fullscreen or windowed?
I've tried both... sometimes it runs fine in either, the rest of the time it doesn't
oh and it absolutely hates windowed unless it's borderless

it's the last one, yeah.. although it didn't shut itself down, it just froze solid till I force closed it
@restive zodiac I got it working after disabling custom spouse patio which I updated just before the crashes began
aha, custom spouse patio is another one to add to the greenhouse crash list i guess
