Ok, so i opened SMAPI via StardewModdingAPI.exe anyway to open it via steam?

all mods are up to date, regardless of what it says here
So I took out a handful of mods and very carefully made my way down to level 40, staying out of the dark areas so I could actually see what was happening. I made it. I don't know what the issue was, but out of these mods I took out, what do you think might be the likeliest suspect?: Better Quarry Redux, Artifact Filled Geodes, Automate, AutomaticGates, Better Artisan Goods, Better Ranching, Chests Anywhere, Clean Cellar, Convenient Chests, Data Layers, Fast Animations, Friends Forever? none of them strike me as having anything to do with the mines so....
or should I just keep doing 50/50 and praying it doesnt freeze on me after another 20+ minutes of mining, which I am really hesitant about
maaaaybe artifact filled geodes?? try taking that out first, and if it's not that cut the smaller list in half

and yeah it's the corraling only that's causing them to multiply now!
yeah either geodes or maybe the quarry mod if it happens to touch rock spawns or something

the big error you have down at the bottom is for Animal Husbandry, but idk how to fix, may need to remove it. However, I strongly recommend taking a look at the Skipped mods section, because you have some duplicate mods installed that aren't loading. The error messages say how to fix it
Worst comes to worst and it's geodes, I'll leave that out, and maybe just shove back in quickly on a day I'm not mining and just identifying the geodes so I can still use it
(I mean yeah out of all those mods geodes I really can just put in once in a while so not worst comes to worst actually)
i think the AHM thing may be a spacecore error that space is looking into?
when i first had my mac issue, i saw someone that had a mod where the toddlers went into npc's what exactly is it?

okay now i'm having a couple of different issues, one is that when i click on things in my inventory the entire ui does a jarring sort of zoom effect until i let go, and the other is that none of the buttons at robin's are working, i can't build or change buildings or anything

So, is it just me, or do the changes that the Level Extender mod makes to the Skill Prestige mod actually make prestiging at higher levels...harsher?
if daily tasks report is what i think it is
daily tasks gives you like a to-do list of everything you need to manage in a day, how many crops need watering, whether it's someone's birthday, what pets or machines have output that hasnt been picked up
If you have both mods, prestiging reduces your level by 10. But...don't higher skill levels have considerably higher XP requirements?
The lowest amount of XP you'll lose by prestiging is gotten by prestiging at Level 10.

I thought maybe the initial update fervor had died back some, but today after scrolling some I see no, it was just Christmas day and now corrin has sprouted multiple arms

haven't gotten there yet. i'm still in summer year 1. occasionally i'll force-complete a bundle, because it's just too easy without the complex and harder bundles, which of the mods do not work right now. I'm going to wait until year 2 to actually finish the Com Center

I loved going to sleep at 3 am, only for the game to say "X went early to bed tonight".

that looks like an issue with Museum Expansion, i'd try removing it for now and see if the problem goes away
i'm also having literally the same issue about the greenhouses, like we get behind the map every time we step into the greenhouses in sve maps its insane

I don't know if it's a save file issue yet so I will try to replicate that in a new farm soon just to confirm if it keeps happening
I'm pretty sure it's because every time a new day starts it's like AS resets and the animals are all assigned new IDs and thus, skins

Pretty sure those cliff tiles with grass clipping through them are vanilla , they need some tile fixes on the front layer
They're only noticeable if you build something right against the cliffs or plant grass there

do you mean 'child to npc'? you can use Lumisteria Child to NPC like parent which works with it
@meager elm hmm, maybe try without big silo, better workbenched, builder's list and buy recipies? haven't used them so far, but i could imagine, if something robin is connected to, it might be the culprit

verifying deletes SMAPI on mac/linux, which is why it asks you to reinstall

The conflict is between spacecore and pytk -- spacecore has been updated with new serialising changes and was meant to work alongside PyTK's, but accidentally conflicts with it. I think PyTK's stuff is complicated/messy/scary and the author isn't around much right now, which makes it slower for space to update. I don't think anyone has a fix yet.

Using CJB cheats menu's warp feature trying to get to the Secret Woods early isn't working....it just poofs me to the intersection below my farm. I'm using SVE's version of the warps. Is something wonky or is the game just going "nah son, you ain't been in here yet, we're not allowing you to warp in"?

Hey, I think it is the issue of the new version of SV, but SVE might not realise it. I cannot go behind the counter of the museum anymore
so i just got to ||the island, and all the golden walnuts that should be on the lil plants are not there. I can fish and dig up golden walnuts but theyre just.... not there.|| these are the mods that im playing with, i thought it might have been the deluxe autograbber mod, but they're not IN my autograbber

Okay so from what I'm...gathering looking at the .jsons, the secret woods warps aren't actually directly into the secret woods I think, but probably right outside of it... I may just have to edit my save file to give me the hardwood I'm missing until I upgrade my axe

the thing with walnuts is that they have special properties that when they are harvested they should go directly on the player, but if autograbber harvest them when player isn't here maybe they disappears ??
Hey all. Does Vortex from Nexus work as a good mod manager for SDV? I usually just do everything manually, but a manager sounds like good QoL.

We recommend ModDrop over Vortex, as a mod manager. Vortex is quirky with SDV

what actual issues do people have with Vortex? I use it and outside of a few mods that need to be manually unpacked because they're packaged as like six separate mods, I've had zero issues
okay yeah I think. probably my issue is that the warp isn't directly into there.
maybe vortex is my problem then, but i couldn't get moddrop to install because the service refused to start
the whole "vortex leaves remnants behind" hasn't been an issue for ages afaik
and maybe the game is just booting me off to the side if the warp location is on top of the log I havent cut down yet...?
and if it does that's what purge & deploy is for

@cursive peak Json Assets handles custom clothes, though to obtain them in-game you need CJB Item Spawner, or a shop added with Shop Tile Framework

Yeah the walnuts aren't items but currency, so since they aren't something you can even have in your inventory it wouldn't be surprising that they weren't in a grabber

wait so I'm using adopt and skin and I've noticed i can go up and down thru one tile openings no problem. But if I'm next to a wall and I turn away from the wall I get stuck in the wall
so it's like the horse has a two tile hitbox when it faces horizontally

you might have to do a 50/50 split on mods
which is thankfully super easy for SDV in Vortex

right, but if you remove a mod that affects the serializer to the point that you can't load a save, a backup isn't gonna do much
@meager elm disable half of your mods and try to do what you're doing
if it still breaks, enable those and disable the other half
when you find the half that breaks, do 50/50 again and narrow it down until you find the broken mod
I mean back up before you remove the mod, then test removing the mod. If something did go kablooey, you have the untouched backup save o.o

I don't think the save will be unloadable anyhow, because various folks have needed to uninstall that mod as well

Yes - but it involves editing the mod files themselves, and there's a chance there might be a resulting issue with Sycamore farm, since it says on the page it isn't compatible with other mods that replace the farmcave (which is where your issue is)
yeah, if they wree applying to different farm maps you'd just add some When conditions but you might be better off disabling the hot spring farmhouse cave edit

would the StardewHack mod still be compatible? I removed it and the Scythe mod that uses it when updating SMAPI just to avoid crashes since StardewHack is the only other major-ish mod that alters the game in some way
you can also highlight naything in the smapi console to switch it to select mode, which completely pauses the game (like. if you click on the actual game window Windows might say it doesn't seem to responding because SMAPI's select mode has made it Stop for the duration of select mode)
just unhighlight the stuff to get it out of sleect mode

What you can try is on the nexus mods page for spring house farmcave, there are instructions from the mod author on how to use it with other custom farms. If it still doesn't work then, you'll have to pick one or the other

Your farmhouse was messed up as you loeaded an existing save were you still had the normal farmhouse
to fix this try to get the nonclip mod if needed and place your stuff in the house again

The old character variants from the previous version of Diverse Stardew Valley will be uploaded as separate add-on character packs like SVO's Brunette Penny, etc. as soon as we've got the art compatible with 1.5, so keep an eye out for it! ๐ I wouldn't recommend overwriting the art because the code & configs have changed significantly

Question about Tool Geodes. Compatibility lists it as up to date and I installed it through ModDrop. However, it's giving the error that it can't be added to game: "Tool Geodes 1.1.5 because it's no longer compatible. Please check for a new version at https://smapi.io/mods". @pine fjord got a new beta for you, attempted fixes for:
- Hover box for names would show up over the creature and not go away for as long as your mouse was anywhere to the right of the creature at the same height
- Farmhands were not being notified of stray or wild horse spawns (this has been changed to use host notification settings, not sure it can be individualized)
- Farmhands were receiving an error at the start of day when pets were being placed (and possibly at night time when entering the farm)

@sudden cedar So the issue is that the farm debris (trees/rocks/logs/weeds/etc) don't match your farm layout because of (unintentionally) switching maps mid save, right?

It depends on the mods you are using and how you remove your mods. If you used things like custom NPCs, locations, etc and try to load your save in vanilla without letting SMAPI clean it up, you'll crash.

After you launch the game once a config.json will generate inside the mods folder. From there you can edit the X and Y values to move it.
I've got a couple new mods running today but I tried uninstalling them and it didn't help

Okay, I initially thought this started with updating SMAPI to 3.8.1 but downgrading, uninstalling/reinstalling, reinstalling Mono and verifying game files (multiple times; one did get reacquired, that's the second time this week, but still errors).

couldn't find libgdiplus, which is needed to load mod images. Make sure Mono is installed and you're running the game through the normal launcher.

Ok so new problem... I took out the waterfall with sycamore forest... now all the trees are clipping with the forest. Also all the base game furniture is clipping over my content furniture???
assuming you've got the mono-complete package with everything, I guess those setup commands mentioned on reddit might be needed then

If anything I feel like 1.5 added/changed lots of things for mod-friendliness, but since it's so soon after a huge update there's lots of things that need updating or are thought to be working with undiscovered behavior etc...
hard to say re:1.5, I don't see non-Windows reports very often overall (and even then, they tend to be Android, which is very error-prone as a port)
Not to mention cases of potential confirmation bias of something weird happening locally but since it happened around update time it must be update ๐
that specific error does seem to happen occasionally, but more on Linux than mac, since mac has an installer that includes the PNG support stuff

I had this error the other day. I'm on fedora 33. I installed variously, libgdiplus.i686 and/or libgdiplus-devel (both archs) to resolve. I also installed mono-complete when before I had only mono-core. It was definitely insufficient to have only libgdiplus.x86_64 but I'm not 1000% sure what resolved it.
On Linux mono-complete should have all you need (and is recommended in the SMAPI install guide for Linux), though I've not been able to use my main OS for a month or so now.
Hi! It's been ages since the last update on the Community Farm by Sgt Pickles. Until 1.4.5 as mentioned on the nexus mods forums by me, we could still use this wonderful mod by editing the "farmType.json" file located on the mod folder and editing the ID to a number that doesn't belongs to another farm type already. You also needed to edit your savegame if you had one by searching for it on your computer and editing the <whichfarm> to the same number that you used on the farmType.json file. By doing this I was able to play for months without problems. I tested everything that could break the map and nothing did it, with the exception of the incompatibility of the NPCMapLocations mod which had a problem when entering the cellar. Now I have updated to 1.5 and I have updated every mod that was updated recently. When I loaded the map, the ID that I used before is used by the new beach farm type (I believe) so the next thing I did was to edit once again what needed to be changed. I have used the "7" id in both the farmType and the <whichfarm> but when i load my savegame, the beach farm is loaded once again. Is there another new dependency to set a farm type on a savegame that I'm not aware of? How can I tell the game that my savegame is from another farmtype? Maybe the mod needs to be updated because there are new stuff regarding to farm types like advanced settings? That would be the worst case because this mod hasn't been updated in more than a year and I don't know how to fix it.
.. if you have the change, can you help me figure out whatโs wrong with the pants? All the shirts loaded just fine but the pants do not
