I basically am tracking it because I want to draw my farmer's house if I make a Stardew Valley fanfic, but I feel bad because a lot of people in the posts are like wanting answers and no one can give them

Maybe you confused Flower Valley with Medieval buildings Mod? The farm house is super similar as both mods use Eemies assets

You simply install all mods manually. Download, unzipp and paste into Mods
I don't know why anyone would use mod managers.
SMAPI shows when you need to update mods and it's just drag & drop or delete, drag & drop

mod managers for sdv are the bane of my existence
the one time i tried using vortex everything went south
Some people try adding in hundreds of mods, even on SDV. without a manager that can get to be Hell
I guess it's convenient when you start as you don't know how it all works

you should end with a folder [CP]Flower Valley and the zipped/compressed file then in the Mods folder. You leave the [CP]... folder and delete the zipped one

Now I already have Paritee's BVAF unofficial installed. I'm just getting freaked out on how to install the animal mods.
Because a lot of the BVAF animal options involve altering the text and I have no idea how to do that.
I literally got dizzy.
The unofficial BFAV update was a lowkey re-write, so mods that work for unofficial BFAV update won't work for the last official BFAV, and viceversa.
If the pack you're trying to use requires a lot of altering things, it was written for the official BFAV, so you can't use that.
Mods for the unofficial BFAV are installed like regular mods, just extracting them to the Mods folder

Looks like you just added Kimchi Maker, whose Kimchi item conflicts with one added by Artisan Valley Machine Goods. Json Assets really doesn't like duplicate items.

im trying to use Sauvignon in Stardew but it says theres a capitilization issue with the entry id value having a lowercase i in in. does anyone know how to fix this?
Open the mod's manifest.json file in a text editor, and change the filename in the EntryDll field to match the actual file's capitalization.

You can do patch summary and then use ctrl+f on the parsed log to see what changes were applied to a certain asset

So I'm confused. I'm using elle's seasonal buildings and it works normally except that the farmhouse has its vanilla textures
I Uninstalled and re-installed IFR2, Elle, starblue valley and sve
And used them one by one and it still didn't work
I don't understand what's wrong
It has to be a rogue mod that affects the farmhouse, but the issue appeared completely randomly
are other farm buildings applied correctly?

I checked Robin's shop and they have their Elle textures
well, then indeed something is blocking house edits. At this point you can try finding the culprit by removing some mods at the time and checking if the problem appears. It's a tedious process but I can't think of a better way
Last mods I added were cjb cheats and ppja mods
I actually wanted to fix the double greenhouse problem, so I edited the manifest file, which caused an error in ifr2
So I downloaded IFR2 again, copied and new manifest file and replaced it with the one a changed
So it was like nothing had changed
And then the farmhouse thing happened
Maybe it happened beforehand and I just didn't notice idk
I'll disable some mods and I'll get back to you

I'm trying the unofficial update of Deluxe Grabber which supposedly harvests things outside of coops like foraged items, truffles, fruit trees etc, but on next day the trees still had fruit and no foraged items were harvested. Does anyone have any info on how this works or if it's broken?
for planted crops it only harvest those close to it, not sure if it's the same for fruit trees, and for forage i believe only global auto-grabbing is possible (all forage on every map is collected, might not work for all modded items), there are instructions on the mod page how to use that function https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2462/

My last conversation topic for my child seemed to last an extra 3 days over what I expected. But that was measuring something else.
@split dragon there is a way to change to default location in the USAGE section
but yes, it collects everything from everywhere
and there's no way to avoid that as far as i know
@shy orbit I see. Yeah I set the location to my farm and next day all the gatherables and truffles were filtered into it (a bit cheaty for the gatherables lol), but it didn't gather the fruit from the trees. I've relocated it near the outdoor fruit trees to see if it harvests them the next day.

it should update automatically as long as steam isn't in offline mode, when it happens is depended on your settings for updating/downloading
if you want to force an update you can do this

verifying integrity on steam should force it to update to the latest version
i clicked on the ? when stardew was open and it says its v1.4.5, which I believe is the current version

could SMAPI be running off of a copy of the game maybe? if you copied it to your desktop at some point that might be the problem, if you're running through the SMAPI exe

yeah that might be it, I went into the steamapps file and that last date the stardew valley.exe was modified was 11/27/2019
i'd recommend looking up DIYCP on nexus and using that to convert it to content patcher
You can check the first link in the governor message above to see if someone made a Content Patcher (CP) conversion
If not, like snow-rrin said, it's possible to convert it yourself!

and a whole heap of your mods are out of date. Try updating them and see if you still get the error, you've got quite a few that might be the culprit.

I try to put them off for as long as I can because I hate the tediousness of updating mods. xD
I suspect it's SMAPI or one of the CJB mods responsible, but since it could be a spritesheet error causing the crash then anything might be doing it
Personally, I've made a shortcut to the relevant folder, so updating mods now takes me a few minutes. I found it really helps when I can do one or two a week rather than many in a slog

So, I went through my mods one by one and only removing custom npc Sasuke made it so the next day loaded. idk, would make a bug report but I don't even know what to report since nothing shows in the log. I'm just throwing it out there in case someone else has a similar problem ๐คทโโ๏ธ
If you can replicate it with just that mod installed, sending a log to the creator is still helpful even if the log doesn't say anything specifically about it.
yeah, I mean the problem is that I could play several days normally with the mod, so making a new save with just this mod might not do anything for a while ^^'

I dont use it but it sounds good. I use CJB cheats which also allows quick warping plus I can set my speed to 5. Play with time. .. and more.
i don't really like using cheats because, uh

Also, when it comes to mods, there are no real limits to how many you can have, I have 810, but the most I've seen is over 1000.
It basically depends on how much you want and how much your computer can handle.
Load time increases when you add more obviously and my town and East scarpe maps lag noticeably when I enter them first time on a save as both are patched multiple times.
(Would probably be less if I wasnt also using recolor and various map changing mods)
Oh yeah, while this is no real limit to how many mods you can have, don't forget that your device specs still play a key factor to how many you can actually run.
And even a fast computer will only load at a certain speed

I have a problem and i dont know if it's fixable. So far, I can't find anything. I installed Swizzy's distillery. The problem was that when I went to automate the casks, it wouldn't. I would have to click on each on instead, breaking most of the casks. I have tried turning of one hit kill and one hit break. Further, I can't find a mod to replace it either. Anyone have any ideas?
So far, the issue is with mead

Probably but may require some tweaking. I think Innersive farm edits it but regular farm does not.

Custom Farming Redux (CFR) is a framework mod, superseded by Producer Framework Mod (PFM)
So you'd need CFR content packs for it to "do" things o: same with PFM

Are there any mods that make Gunther's sprite less...wonky? It doesn't fit in with the others in-game at all, especially when you have something that brings him out from behind his desk :/
Along those lines, imoutofcheetos, I use Befriend Marlon and Gunther and Seasonal Villager Outfits (SVO), and I had to manually comment out the Gunther edits within SVO, because it doesn't have walking sprites for him. With Befriend Marlon and Gunther, he does walk, so he'd just pop in and out of existence midstride lol

Manual edits to SVO are not recommended by the mod author, who explicitly doesn't support that, so you'd be going rogue here 
But you'd have to open the content.json for SVO and search for Gunther, and then comment out the edits for Gunther.
You'd also have to do this every time you updated SVO, because your changes would be removed.

Your main error is Two content packs want to load the 'Maps/Festivals' asset (HornyBachelors and Stardew Valley Expanded). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.
Get rid of horny bachelors prob
If the mod only adds dialog (no events), it'll work for whoever has it installed. If someone doesn't have it installed, then they won't see the modded dialog.
I'm not sure about events, that would depend on whether they're broadcasted or not

hey guys! so i finally started playing multiplayer with a friend, and they're having a small issue with my (the main) farmhouse/the greenshouse loading in on the map.. i was wondering if anyone could identify the issue so we can solve it? they both show up fine for me and the friend can still enter the house from the access tile point but the visuals just won't show up for some reason ;-;

Pretty cool mod I picked that replaces Leah with a Gardevoir. There should be one that turns the Wizard into Mewtwo, which is cool.

need some help with installing mods
this is my first one
i installed mono
i installed smapi
i found the right file path for where mods go
do i have download in that exact path? or can i just drag files over?
im on a mac
when you download the mod, it doesn't matter where you put the file, but you have to extract the mod into the mods folder for it to work
most mods download as .zip or .rar files, so you'll need to extract them
i did do that
it extracts to my application folder but then i drag both to the zip file and folder and it doesnt sense it

Seems like there may be some trouble with mods communicating with the host
a lot seem like just client side, rendering stuff though (with the exception of some framework mods)
my phone can't handle loading the logs, so unfortunately I cant view them at the moment.

If the issue related to climates is gone next time, then I might put it down as him only exiting to the main menu and rejoining for now

Some mods let you edit key bindings, which are controller/keyboard/mouse buttons which do something in-game. This page explains how to configure them. (This works for any mod using SMAPI's standard APIs.)

Hello, does anyone know if there is an alternative to 360controller for Mac (using PS4 controller)? SMAPI blocks steam control support because it opens up another window - I used to have a solution but after an update it no longer works. I have tried to download 360controller but apparently it isn't compatible with Big Sur (the new Macbook system). Are there any other ways to use a controller and mods?

there's a tonne of green house mods. What sort of thing are you after? Something close to the base game but a little bigger? Something aimed at trees? Something prettier? Something huge?
Something pretty and big. Something to decorate. I am not after planting or trees because I have the cheat mode. ( I have played vanilla a lot already )
A pretty greenhouse with added features like rooms pools etc. I am not after recolor though. I have Elles building now which looks like vanilla . That is more like what I like .

thank you! I mainly play on my Android tablet but since the port broke I have been playing on my pc, which is nice but I am anxious to get back to playing on my tablet (the controls are easier for me on my tablet) ๐

I have thought about getting a controller but I am not sure what kind/where to get one.
I believe most XBox controllers are compatible with Windows. So you can get a cheap second hand one, often from an "outdated" system, and use that with a free driver from Microsoft. I used to use an XBox 360 controller I got for $5 after the XBox One had been out for a while. (These days I have a Steam Controller, but I don't use it for SDV)
If you have a local gaming store they can probably give you better advice.

Hi there. If you have Medieval Buildings you don't need farm buildings from Flower Valley ( the greenhouse over river is part of the retexture) so you can go into Mods\ [CP]Flower Valley and in config.json set farm buildings to false. That should fix it

Anyone in here have any experience with mods an mac? Kinda want mods but havent used any before so a little scared lol

im sorry i dont know if anyone was spefically talking to me, who do i give the link for my error log to find out why my game crashed?
Does anyone know why some mods are not listed under the smapi.io/mods compatibility checker? One or more of my mods keeps freezing but I can't check whether some of them are compatible or not because they don't seem to be on the list (e.g. Elle's animal reskins, Foliage Redone, Wildflower Grass Field, Vintage Interface 2, Medieval Buildings)
Just post it in here and someone will help if they can.
@Minematrixia, the mods listed in smapi.io/mods are specifically only mods that use code (C#). The mods you listed in your message are content packs. Those don't use code, because instead they rely on a framework mod, which does use code. Most of the mods you listed rely on Content Patcher, CP.
For your log, the error seems to be coming from Extended Minecart. Can you look up the mod description on nexus and see if it says it's compatible with SVE? It might not be

Yea I looked in the comments, and it looks like it's been incompatible with SVE for a bit. SVE updates pretty frequently, and it changes more and more stuff, which unfortunately makes it less compatible with other mods

the empty folders are irrelevant, the later two mods didnt affect my game at all before despite not loading properly

artisan valley machine goods alr has hot cocoa added and is being added again by Hot Cocoa Shop mod
@finite sluice your problem was hot cocoa haha, you have both artisan valley (which adds hot cocoa) and another mod that adds hot cocoa
Oh yeah the game doesn't like it when two items have the same name
And you might wanna follow the instructions on enabling steam achievements too
like it had all those errors b4 but worked haha
