One of my player sees hibiscus (from tree) as payaya, dried sweet peas (from dryer) as ham, honeysuckle to tea (from dyer) as toast... I'm not sure how to go about trying to fix this. Some of these are newly planted and still has this issue. I am host, and we have all the same mods.

@static folio it's trial and error. Auto-Animal Doors doesn't really care for example, all players see the doors open. Auto Gate Walkthrough only works for the installed player. I use chests everywhere and ppl will see stuff come and go from the chest but they can't access all the chests without the mod. I would wager if its big and game changing like extra maps or new characters ect you could get some game breaks.

Well I know I have sve and the mods required for it, I have one hairstyle thing, auto fishing (because despite playing for years I’m still bad at it) and I think a map overlay that allows me to see locations of where people are at actively. Since I know what all I have though it should be easy to figure out what all is needed to mesh well.

One could theoretically simply the process by zipping all of their mods and sending them and then the multiplayers run the mods out of a unique folder in /mods......theoretically

That's what I mean. The farmhand gets the hosts' mod "package" per se and runs it out of a folder. Especially if they have a boatload of visual mods. Or the other way and the host runs a different set for playing with others, etc.

content patcher versions require a framework mod of that name that allows changing game stuff without directly replacing the files, which makes the mod in question immune to being removed by a game update and makes it harder to break your game

I used to play on a big 1tb hardrive, but i switched my main drive to like a 128gb thing, but stardew is still installed on the other drive, so idk what the problem is, it should be fine

I think the core game doesnt recognize any pronouns but he or she and defaults to he. It can be overridden in some cases but probably not in something like WS that is random.

Hi, I am trying to play Stardew Valley Expanded multiplayer. I am hosting. My friend is able to join and play fine, except when she tries to go to the southern part of the map, where Marnie's house is, the game crashes. SMAPI gave her a message about if it keeps happening to try getting help and that led me to this discord. I named my SMAPI log giraffe so I could upload them both from the same folder, I hope that is okay 🙂

I think the problem was that I switched hard drives, thats the only thing that makes 100% sense. But i've reinstalled steam on my new hardrive ,stardew is there, smapi is there, moddrop is there, and the save is there on the new hard drive as well

@woeful fractal I got the I think two first visual mods you mentioned and then I got elles houses instead of the medieval houses I wasn't a fan totally of the medieval look but Al's pack has different color and style options so you can still tell the house was touched but it's not a complete shift. I also had to try the different grass settings cuz the default one with all the colors was kind of busy and stuck out from the rest of the game

I have some pretty specific questions about hoeing with @spark basalt 's Map Predictor Tilling Mode, and with upgraded hoes how the game iterates through the 3x8 till section of the iridium hoe. I've set up a few different patterns for hoeing up large amounts of clay, and im trying to scale up with the iridium hoe to get 3 or more clay per swing. but i havnt quite figured out why sometimes the first 2 swings will miss the clay but the 3rd will still hit.

@marble falcon the code to decipher is in Tool::tilesAffected. You need to work out the order the tiles get addded, as that is the order they will get tilled in. Keep in mind every till moves where clay will spawn

Hi! So very new here, just managed to get stardew for PC and have been having some problems modding the game. I keep getting lots of errors along the lines of
[MFM] Even More Recipes because you have multiple copies of this mod installed, to fix this delete and reinstall the mod

We did some googling and found someone who said this was because we "copied the entire folder into the mods folder instead of merging the mods folder it contains" but I don't really understand what he's saying there so not sure how to fix. What do I need to merge with what?

I'm running ubuntu and my wife is on windows, but we're both having the same issues so obviously we've both done the same thing wrong 😂 Any help really appreciated! I just wanna do a comfy farm!!

First, make sure that you've placed skins in AdoptSkin/assets/skins, as A&S does not come with many skins of its own- only a few example skins.
Second, check the file naming guide below.
Third, Make sure you don't have any other skin replacers for animals, pets, or horses. If you do:

  1. Since reskinners can cause conflict, you'll have to make sure you've moved any skins that you want from those mods into /assets/skins
  2. Remove the reskin mods from the Mods folder
  3. When you load older saves that used these replacers, call randomize_skin on the creatures or creature category that was using those skins
    Those creatures, and new ones of its kind, should be good to go after that!

Fourth, if you're still having problems or are confused, feel free to post a comment or ask on the SDV discord's #modding channel!

If you have GMCM installed you can change them on the title with the game running. Otherwise you'll have to close the game.

SMAPI mods have to opt in but Content Patcher packs are supported natively.

Any help with this would be awesome. I'm running Linux Mint 19.3 with mono-universal installed along with the newest smapi installed (3.7.6). I am able to get CJB Cheat Menu to install and work properly with no issue. But when I attempt to use CJB Item Spawner and I press the "I" key to open the menu, my game just stutters and that's it. No crashes or anything I just can't seem to open the menu. I also looked and could not find an smapi error log of any sort.

There is a SMAPI port for Android but If i remember correctly last SV update broke it and it's not yet updated to work properly. Unless that changed recently and i didn't hear about that

@floral meadow About your pets' appearance in multiplayer: Do you and your friend have the same mods? If not, you'll probably both need to install them for things to fix the different appearances.

As for save editing, I'm not sure how it works with multi-pet mods, but you might be able to find multiple <whichbreed> tags in your save file. Pet texture choices are normally stored as a number, e.g. <whichbreed>0</whichbreed> for the default one. Modded pets might be stored elsewhere or formatted differently, though, and this probably won't fix multiplayer differences (everyone shares the host's save file).

hey guys, it's me, Mario! (lol joking!)
I think I may messed up the Aurora vineyard repair.. I got a cutscene talking with Apples, and like he asked if he'd done wrong? and I didn't want to make him sad so I picked another option, but one of those were along the lines of: "you were supposed to restore aurora vineyard not move in!"
I'm now in 3rd day spring, year 3, and the place is still a wreck. Apples is still there, full hearts relationship and other plants are there including a tree. But the tile like the one from Community Center never appeared. Oh well, I'm calling it quits now.

Just finished angler/fishing achievement (secret fish from SDVE doesn't show as is Joja-related) still need 4 recipes from SDVE mod and Abby wont offer to have a 2nd child.. so I'm kinda stuck. it's kinda dragging it by now, guess I admire those that can play thousands hours, many in-game years!
