so Mi's and Magimatica Country Furniture would go into the furniture folder since it's xnb but [CP] Industrial Furniture Set would stay in the mods folder because it's a content pack.

so the content patcher furniture mods will edit the same spritesheet in the game, so only one will appear at a time
you can have multiple custom furniture, but only one content patcher furniture mod
depending on which yellog's furniture there may already be a custom furniture version of it

I wish there were more cp mods that kept stardew valley's vanilla look. I'm in love with Elle's seasonal buildings, but that's the only one that doesn't mess with the game's natural aesthetic while adding some variety.

@pine oyster with JA and PFM you can very easly make your own tho, i have a furnace i made craftable from iridium that does 4 of any bar every 30 minutes for example

yeah but not all of them are usable since many are outdated... and then some don't work together or don't fit my aesthetic (looking at you anime mods)
i tend to go for a soft, flowery aesthetic

@strange timber Kinda, that's where I started modding too. After you install smapi it is usually a case of unzipping and dropping in to the mods folder, and if not they usually have instructions
Hey, is there a mod that pauses time in multiplayer like single player, I thought it would be neat if it slowed down time instead but I don't need to get my hopes up

@iron tiger i've noticed some mods not appearing on the mod list with smapi.io/log, so yeah, it doesn't seem to be a sure way to get the list. what you could do i suppose is to find all manifest.json files in your Mods folder and work from there

Be warned though, PPJA makes the full shipment achievement and gourmet chef achievement 10 times harder.

BFAV and the mods requiring it for animals, PPJA for crops/machines/products/cooking, More New Fish for, well, more new fish, SVE for a little more of everything, most custom NPCs are separate so just look through the new characters tag on nexus

It's probably something on Nexus's end where it shows every compressed file as a zip. You can use 7zip to extract rar files as well as zip

It depends on the mod
Some require special uninstall steps to make sure they don't glitch or break your save
So mods that spawn items
JA mods that add new items are the most common example. You should try to make sure to always delete any modded JA items from a mod before deleting that mod.
If not will that crash the game?
A few mods have even more particular uninstall requirements, but if they do it will almost always have instructions on the mod page.
Not for JA mods - it will just create a ton of glitched error items

But for a few other mod types, yeah you can get crashes if you don't uninstall correctly

i think the problem is that you have content patcher 1.17 but tailor mouse needs 1.18

Most do, or so I'm told. The general rule of thumb is "try it and see." There is an Android port of SMAPI by a person called ZaneYork. I don't have a link handy, sorry, but I think it's on GitHub.

I think that you have a mods folder much like on PC, but I haven't modded on Android myself, so I'm not 100% sure where to find it once you have SMAPI installed.

Hello there. I'm having a bit of an issue. One of my mods isn't coming up because seasons are considered NA and I did some adopt and skin for BFAV mods and I'm getting caution warnings.

No that seems to be the mod itself. Not sure what that is about I've not edited anything but the config file
the machine rules for the phoenix and easter bunny mods seem to be in producer framework mod packs
Yeah I think the config is the same on both so that isn't an issue I just checked it
The BFAV error is there no matter how many times I remove the folder and replace it, and if the config is not touched it's always the same
The adopt and skin one is the odd one out and only reason I added anything to the BFAV config to start with as it reads the animal names from it. However, as visible it can see the names now but I still get errors
So, from this parse the BFAV error is the Easter Bunnies which I have not touched exept to remove the foraging. Let me check the content and see if there is something the mod author accidently left in the content text they put in to replace it with and see if there is comma or something missing
I thought I found the problem, but nope. If anyone uses Ace's Simple Sheds, I could use some help. The mod simply won't work and change the interior size of the shed. No matter which version I choose with the config.

Alright, I removed each animal on the BFAV mod then put them in one by one into mods folder and still am getting same BFAV error

well, at least your CP now seems to recognize that the save is in spring so the mod can apply the changes. Even better if it fixed itself cx
Yeah, I have a feeling the issue with BFAV is the version of Harmony it's using causing the error. I could try to fix it, but I'd have to have someone look at my coding to make sure no spelling errors.

@rapid lily Elegant Victorian Interior should still partially work, make sure you're using the Content Patcher version. There were changes in 1.4 that the mod doesn't account for so parts will be broken so I frankly wouldn't recommend using it. It doesn't appear to have a 1.4 version even unofficially.

I'm not sure what I'm missing. I've put the animals in the BFAV config file and also not done it (putting them in the config causes a crash so I stoped that)

@shy orbit CP now requires an additional field in changes of sprite for map or indoor changes. I suspect this may be what has happened here? If Egg festival was somehow overlooked?

Reset Terrain Features (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4715) is a mod that allows you to reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map via an in-game menu. This is especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will still use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits) until reset.

I want to use a new farm map without starting a new game but (obviously) much of my current farm layout doesn't line up with the new farm. Is there a mod that will let me move stuff around, including things that are now out of bounds like chests and fruit trees?
or am I stuck manually editing my save to fix that stuff (I'm on linux so those save game editors aren't really an option unless someone knows of one that isn't windows only)

@proven thicket Sure! I have a list of ones that I want to prioritize since I have the object sprites complete already. Caroline Reaper, Ghost Pepper, Poblano Chile, Scotch Bonnet, Serrano Chile, Lotus Root, Bay, Catnip, and Wormwood.
There's also one more...oh! Perilla needs a unique crop. It currently shares the same as oregano.

It seems that the Custom Greenhouse Mod is incompatible with SVE, there is a config file with WarpGreenhouseX & Y but I'm not too sure if I can fix it

The biggest thing I see is that you have the lighting reversed. CA's light comes from the top-right. Yours is the top-left.

You don't have More Recipes installed and you have the Machines Only Pack for Artisan Valley which should only be installed if explicitly directed to by another mod.
Artisan Valley (which adds those same machines) is also trying to load but you're missing More Recipes which is why AV & EMR won't load.

You also have the EMR - Meat recipes installed but don't have Fresh Meat installed.
Unless a requirement is listed as optional (there are a few) for Artisan Valley you need all of them.

Ah, the lines weren't breaking because we made them too strong. In the next version, we're making them weaker so they break nicer

A bit of both. We worked with a UX dev a lot in the early days (until I felt I could take it over). We still bring him in every so often.
He conducted user interviews at various gaming conventions and reached out to some of our more active users.
We also listen closely when people share their experiences on our discord.
And we try and listen Very closely when mod authors give us feedback.

To be honest I don't watch bugs/comments enough on Nexus anyway, but it would be nice to have them centralized
We have looked at enabling authors to remove the bugs tab on a per mod bases. That's not live, but I can bump it up our priority list.
You could also add a "Notice" informing players not to post bugs on MD. Notices show up as a message the first time a mod is installed.

I tried this yesterday, not sure if their might be someoen who can help atm or not. I have 3 issues (though 1 I may know why): SVE Medieval CP is not working on the SVE buildings for some reason, I can find no conflicts. 2) Up to date unofficial BFAV gives an error (though I think that has to do with version of harmony - which if I could find the proper code and get visual studion to cooperate I could fix but it's being weird) it's not been stopped however and seems to still be in the system though I could be wrong, 3 Adopt and skin is not reading the BVAF animal types like it should. Not sure if I need to update the farm animal json file nor not.
I have ran the game with just BFAV and still get error hince why I think it is harmony issue, though ANS not working might be becuase of the error. I am checking the SVE medieval pack without any other mods atm to see if it still doesn't show or not as I forgot to do it yesterday while doing other stuff

No, the CP still isn't showing even with only that and SVE installed. Could be SVE's own textures aren't allowing the override.

When I click items in the shop it wont let me buy anything and when I exit I just get that error every time I click something different after exiting the shop menu

I got BFAV working. It was because I didn't have the most up to date unofficial update. There is one called .7.zip and one that isn't. .7.zip is the most up to date. Which it wasn't coming up in my searches etc I had to go dig for it
@mossy zodiac maybe it's an incompatibility between shop tile framework and shop expander? you can test it by trying it in a minimal mod setup
and also trying the mods by themselves to see if you get the same problems then

Ok I went for a minimal build (plus one of the random content pack mods to buy something frm the store with) and it worked
so now ill just readd them all one by one
and find which one is causing the error hopefully
Oh because BFAV no longer has an error, adopt and skin works now. So I don't have any errors except those that are due to certain mods but doesn't affect anything

Hi Everyone I'm having backpack trouble still. When I upgraded to the 36 slot backpack when I press tab it shifts my items around instead of just changing rows. So if I tab 3 times my item in slot 6 becomes slot 1.

Hi everyone. I just recently started playing the mod Stardew Valley Expanded (and added some other mods as well, mostly the recommended mods to play with). I donated the chicken statue to the museum and did not receive the chicken statue decoration for my house. I checked the wiki, but couldn't find any entry on the chicken statue or the museum, so I am unsure if this is an intended part of the mod, or if I have a bug occurring. Clothing was changed in 1.4. You can craft it now with Emily's sewing machine or for clothing mods you'll either have to spawn it in through CJB or Tailor Mouse sells specific packs.

The JA version is the one that will add the clothing to be bought through tailor mouse or show up in CJB. That's the one you'd want.
Plus that first one is XNB. You do not want to use those

That’s unfortunate. XNB mods, are for one outdated, and two can corrupt save files. It would be better to use SMAPI, so I can’t help much. @pale leaf

I've never noticed my mods making my game slower. It starts up slower cause it's loading them, but after that it's fine. I use over 300 mods. xD

hey folks. trying to get some mods for my so on her mac, but i’ve never used mac so i’m a bit confused on something.. the wiki guide says to install a mod “just unzip it into the Mods folder”. i manually downloaded item spawner from nexus and it’s the folder, plus some .json files and the .dll and .pdb file. so what do i need to do to “unzip” it into the mod folder?

@shy orbit so take the entire contents of the downloaded mod folder and drag and drop it to MacOS/mods? i assumed that was the case, but the little example that’s on the wiki just shows a .dll file and one .json file - wasn’t sure if the .pdb file from this mod should go too + all the other .json files. i don’t wanna break anything lol.

If they weren’t loading, there would be an error, but there are no errors and the mods don’t show up there, so maybe send a new log?

For bfav I have bears, birds, blue chickens, fennec fox, harvest moon cows, magic bunnies, phoenixes, prospurrity, racoons, squirrels, turkeys, vulpix, wooloo, yoshi, and zelda animals.
some of those dont work for me
(you probably won’t believe I have half of the bfav mods there) 
I also have Crustaceans but I had to edit it myself to make it work with the new format. I don't want to spread it since I don't have permission from the creator.
The more mods i add the more time it takes to load saves but other than that i have like 100 on a shit laptop and its working fine

You can remove the SMAPI Installer folder out of Mods but everything else is fine.

Everything looks fine from what you sent of the log besides the leftover SMAPI installer. Specific errors related to mods happen lower in the log so if you're having issues we'll need a full log.

We also don't have as many specific categories like Skyrim, Fallout etc. so sometimes we have to make do. Certain categories have been added as time went on.
