Oh...friend...I have that mod installed, and know it works because the little junimos inside the CC will wear little leaf hats when it rains even though they're inside...but that is all I know.
I've never made it far enough in-game to have junimo huts 
I recommend checking the mod description and comments, and if you still have questions, hopefully someone else here will be able to answer

You can now pay your Junimos! Set a small configurable item fee for their labor.Place their requested item (e.g. a foraged item or fruit) in their chest, and the Junimos will start working

Paying Junimos
In the config.json "WorkForWages" to true, and then decide how you want to pay them. The default is 1 foraged item per day, but you can also pay them in flowers, fruit, and/or wine. Just enter the amount of each you want to pay them per day. Then, in the game, click on the junimo hut as if you were retrieving harvested crops, and place the payment inside. If it's the correct payment, a message will pop up saying that the junimos are happy with their payment, and they will get to work. You can also pay them for multiple days at a time if you don't want to do it every day.

the thing that would make it "cheat-y" is exactly how much money they produce over time

I've been having FPS issues for a long time and trying to figure out to problem and found the reason.I've tried xna and game reinstall,install but it didnt work.Also zooming in helped out but didnt like it .So i uninstalled all the mods and tried to open the game and zoomed out all the way and the game was running on 60 fps not even flinching not even in rain(main fps drops were happening in the farm and when its raining)then i installed latest SMAPI opened the game got out of my house fps dropped to 58-56 walked around a bit then it dropped to 40 fps so its not even the other mods.I honestly expected the problem to be the Automate mod around the farm but no it is SMAPI causing me the fps drops.Does anyone have this or is it just me ? and can i get help please or do i just not play the game with mods is the solution because almost every mod needs SMAPI...Idk if you even need the SMAPI log but here https://smapi.io/log/755ceb71eba34c24bb1b9701bdc99955
it sounds like your computer is on the low end for handling SDV if you get performance differences by zooming in or out
i would not recommend modding your game very heavily

but yea I've some people here be very sensitive to things that in their opinion are "cheats", so I wanted to put it there as a warning. I'm of the mindset "to each their own, whatever you find fun," but that includes people who don't like "cheat-y" stuff. It's also worth noting I play this game 100% for fun and not in any kind of competitive sense, which some people do

do you have problems if you run the game from the vanilla exe, i.e. no SMAPI either? because that log is virtually empty, there's not much to affect your performance…

i don't think you can really compare modded and vanilla since there's a very huge variety of difference not only from vanilla to modded but also from one modded game to another
in some ways modded can make things harder, and in some ways easier
it isn't really that easy to quantify

First the terrain went all black, then I restarted the game and now my character is moving painfully slow. I even started another game to test it as a new save, but still my farmer moves slow

You can't break a save from too many mods, and if you're really worried you can make a back up, and test a mod out for a bit then quit before saving

you can break a little from a mod that edits vanilla content, like SVE changing the maps of the vanilla world a bit, but you can fix that issue with a terrain restoring mod i think?
The only way you can break the game is by using XNB mods because those directly replace game files

SVE character dialogues are already far more expansive and varied than any vanilla stardew character. That's why there hasn't been any big dialogue expansions made for them.

Why do I always get an error when installing SVE but it worked fine when I installed a modified version of it specifically for the mobile version
if a mod doesn't have a config for keybinds, there isn't a way
(short of editing and recompiling the source code yourself)

Keybindings are the key you press in-game to do something
Some mods use the same key, other people like poe have a different layout that isn't optimal for the keybind set by the creator.

The youtuber is redistributing out-of-date mods without the permissions of the mod authors who created them

It's a problem because they might include my stuff and others in it which I'm not ok with. I know Flash doesn't want SVE redistributed as well.

It's a config.json, so it'll be generated after running the game with the mod installed, as usual. You can quit once you get to the main menu to tweak the config (so you don't have to load a save)

Hey how’s it going just joined this forum to inquire about a mod that I updated that recently broke my game which is the TMXL map tool kit mod updated very recently I sadly downloaded it instead of looking at the bug reports and now I’m essentially stuck in limbo till the modder patches the black screen texture bug that makes the game functionally unplayable was curious if anyone has any news on how long this patch will take and if the modder even realises his updates broken

I did try downloading the most recent in the old files folder of that mod though the version was stated to be outdated so it must not be the most recent pre broken patch

There's Platonic Relationships mod, which allows you to reach 10 hearts with all dateable villagers without dating them... but it doesn't (currently) do anything to change romance-leaning dialogue or romantic heart events.

I only had a few mods that added flirty dialog for a handful of characters at 6 hearts, so that was easy to comment out

I was trying to make more use of the LfL portraits for the wizard by tweaking a mod I have that adds more dialog to the wizard, so all I'm really doing is reading the dialog line, and then choosing a portrait to go along with it, and that takes forevers lol I have not finished, that's gonna be a long-term project

I don't have anything specifically flirty added, but some of the vanilla events get a bit weird if you're just wanting to be good friends, like Haley blushing with dialogue hinting at further feelings. I forget which event thats in, maybe where you take photos together at Marnies?

you could also go the other way and have an "AllowFlirtList" rather than a "NoFlirtList"
is there an easy way to have an option to only show flirty dialogue if you're dating person x? it'd be a pain to stick when conditions on all of the stuff but it might be good to essentially autoselect who not to show flirty dialogue from

I am using A&S with Elle's sprites. The sprites keep reverting back to vanilla ones every day when it ends.
Upon digging into the codes, I found that the livestock animals have their short ID as 0.
Is there a known way to solve this?

you can try typing debug_asreset into the SMAPI console, that should reset A&S. that might not be the exact command, but it's listed on the mod's page somewhere i believe
The Short ID is the ID given to every animals in the game by A&S mod I believe.
try that command i just listed, it should reassign all the IDs
you might need to config DebuggingMode on in A&S first
that may have worked though
try list_creatures all now and see what that says
that "there was no output" message doesn't mean a debug command didn't work, it just happens sometimes after running one

gathouria isn't super active atm but does check discord, so you could send a DM or ping with a log if you want to make sure the bug report gets seen
afaik the invisible animals bug was never really solved? i think gath is hoping that some 1.5 changes will make it easier to fix some of the more elusive bugs in A&S, like how horses are terrifyingly buggy in MP

they are honestly not too useful unless the profits have been changed. if it hasn't it's just 2x original value, which is the same as iridium quality fish i think. they also take pretty long and i think the smokers take too many resources. maybe if it took crabpot fish it could be useful

i think the machines that process non-specific produce like flowers, vegetables or fruits can be useful profit-wise. some can also be used to make some food ingredients that you normally have to buy, but they are not generally useful i'd say, because they take too many resources to make and/or too long to process

pepper blender only takes few crops but i think it's profitable. juicer is okay i guess but you need some rarer ingredient for it. for the dehydrator i never get enough slime to really utilize until i get a slimehutch, but then there are better options already. yogurt jar i'm not sure is useful

Some mods let you edit key bindings, which are controller/keyboard/mouse buttons which do something in-game. This page explains how to configure them. (This works for any mod using SMAPI's standard APIs.)

not sure about the slow down mod but there is a mod to freeze time. Creating custom NPC is quite a bit of work but totally doable and there are quite a few tutorials/examples c:

I was checking on the other people in the farm and explore at the first 2 weeks then started farming like crazy after that
First thing I do when I wake up I water my plants and when I'm done watering them I barley get enough energy to move so I eat something to get back my energy then go to the mines until it's 1 am and get back home after that
I even had like almost every quest in the community house or whatever it's called done
But it wasn't that fun to do it like this because the only thing I was doing was grinding as hard as I can without doing anything else

Unzip "internal/windows-install.dat" (on Windows) or "internal/unix-install.dat" (on Linux/Mac).
You can change '.dat' to '.zip', it's just a normal zip file renamed to prevent confusion.

`StardewModdingAPI.exe` file should be right next to the game's executable.

Hey everyone, im using an earlier version of SDV Expanded 1.10, to update to the latest version i just replace all the files in my mod folder?
The install guide doesnt say anything about updating past 1.10, only if you have a version earlier than that
to be on the safe side, delete all old files from Expanded and then install the new version
should be like that, I don't think any recent updates had file path changes
(I updated .quote 5082 so it points people to updating PyTK, and also added a description of TMXL woes as "Void Happens or weird black textures")

we did have somebody who, Yoba knows why, had to verify their files twice before Steam redownloaded their entire missing content folder not long ago

you could also try an uninstall/reinstall, which should have a similar effect
(maybe stick your mods folder on the desktop temporarily if you do that, verifying won't touch it but uninstall might ditch the whole Stardew directory I'm not sure)

ok, i validated game files twice, each time it found one missing file and reacquired it. i reinstalled SMAPI, ran the game, got the same Strings/Locations: mumjo jumbo, exited the game, verified game files again, and again it found one missing file and reacquired it.

I am trying to install a mod (animal social menu) through vortex, I have installed many mods previously in the same way but when I try installing it now I get the message attached
when I press give permision it just reappears strait away
We don't usually recommend Vortex because it has issues, exhibit A. You can always manually install a mod if Vortex doesn't want to play nice.

Yes but depending on the mod you could miss out on some earlier content or you might get a lot of letters/events because it's catching up.

Shoes in the game can easily have a changed appearance in inventory, but their appearance when worn by the player is always the same. The only thing that's different for each shoe on the player is color.

What I would suggest is that you play vanilla and
When there are aspects of the game that you find lacking or obtuse, find a mod to make that part better
In general, you can’t go wrong with Pathoschild’s mods since most are QoL mods
idk if this is an unpopular view or not, but i would suggest you play the vanilla game thoroughly before you get into mods so you can appreciate it in its untouched state :)
I recommend getting to at least year 3 before getting into Stardew Valley Extended—it'd be good for say, your second save—but you do you 🙂
(it adds lots and lots of new content)
It also helps you know what is/isn't a mod if you need to ask for help.
There are a bunch of mods that make smaller changes, not big overhauls, that I would recommend even to new players

actually I do and it involved a lot of trying not to accidentally change a sign
I agree, texture mods are a great and low-fuss way to enhance the game
(Somebody wrote me a test lockable-signs mod, I'm not sure if it made it to Nexus but I can find the GitHub issue if anyone's interested 😄 )
Elle's mods are popular for buildings and animals, and Seasonal Villager Outfits is pretty cool too
I'd also rec the dish of the day mod and walk through trellis for quality of life mods 🙂

Hey guys, if I have SDVE isntalled and forgot to switch my mod folders and log onto someone else's file via Multiplayer, what happens?
if you close the file without sleeping to save it, nothing happens
and if you end up saving? will it change someone else's file?
it could potentially screw things up for them, yes
usually fixable, but it can be a pain

@fast river FYI i'm not exactly positive since it's the first time i did the festival, but i think i ran into a bug after i installed the surfing festival mod. when i did the race i was way way faster then everyone else, and at the time i thought it was odd but wasn't sure why that'd be(it made the race way too easy). but after thinking about it, i thought it'd make sense if it was because at the time i entered the festival i had a +5 speed buff from a new item, homemade energy tonic, introduced by the one of the other mods i installed(presumably one of the PPJA ones; probably more recipes)
as you're probably aware food and drink buffs don't normally apply during festivals but for this event it seemed like it did. maybe test it out for yourself and see if there's any difference?

unfortunately i'm already past the festival, so i can't go back
So I'm helping my fiancee set up mod groups on her mac. How does one "Create a file SMAPI_multiplayer.command"?
and these will still work with steam achievements right?

also, to specify, i wasn't speedy as hell in the normal festival, but during the race it seemed like i was
i was magnitudes faster then everyone else basically
you literally create a text file and name it that. weirdly I'm not sure if TextEdit can create plain old non-rich text, but if that doesn't work something like BBEdit should serve you just fine
so much so that it was hard to not run into rocks but it didn't matter because i was so fast

I am still getting disappearing artisan valley machines - i've unistalled everything I've added since artisan valley in case it was an id problem ,but the list_items no. for the machine is still the same, so I don't think it is that actually. if anyone has any ideas i'd appreciate it!
they only disappear when placed also - if they are stored in a chest they don't disappear 😕
actually i can revert to a spring 28th day and just skip a bunch of days to get to the festival @fast river
i'll try it both with and without and get some video footage of it

I know she has mono set up properly becasue we've run the game with a lot of these mods previously (Automate, CJB, etc.) and it was fine. Just everything related to SDVE
PyTK and TMXL were updated a lot in the last couple days

but it worked for me on windows is what's weird to me
there was a bug introduced and I guess the authors have been busily fixing it.
also, not all mods require Mono, just ones that require the game to load PNG images I think? (somebody correct me if I'm wrong)
But yea we had lots of people here yesterday who were having issues, and there were new updates, so try confirming you downloaded the latest versions of TMXL and PyTK
might be worth reinstalling it just to see

Uhh, I'm a windows person so I'm not sure about the mono part, but I definitely recommend uninstalling SVE and reinstalling it, making sure you get rid of all the old SVE folders
