I'm trying to think of what these combinations have in common in a general sense - SVO does things on location change (like inside/outside sprites), so that could be relevant but I'm not sure how exactly that could tie in with the SVE install SDVpufferthink

I don't play normally with any of these installed except SVO, but I am positive I have used them all together in testing at one point or another -- just possibly not recently enough to be of any use. I've been having to spend a lot of time on Windows of late and am kind of far behind on various versions of these...

I'm curious if it still happens if you edit the main SVE manifest to remove dependencies on everything except the core packs needed for it to function, mainly the content patcher one and the TMXL one, and strip out the all the details packs so it's just NPCs + locations...

@deep totem I think I described how it will be best in QF, use the events on the quests, add listeners on them and handle add/remove the topic. You PR still waiting to do it and be merged.

Hello! I'm trying to to get stardew vallley expanded to work but the mod won't load. I have all the mods that SDVE needs but for some reason it's not working. It looks like you're using the Vortex mod manager, and it has improperly extracted Tractor Mod and completely failed to put SVE etc in your mods folder at all.

the errors that i could see ingame were that emerald farm was gone, nothing there, there is 2 adventurers guilds, 2 marlon, gunther is invisible, i don want and extra marlon nd gunther on my social list but they are sill there even though i deleted the mod. stardew aquarium isnt working as usual and the amusement park is also not working. idek what cjb cheats is doing, its just an endless error. idk what the error with tmx is eather. i just need a lot of help and i am bad at modding. https://smapi.io/log/ad1a5a9b5a0f49cf93ced9a90831803f

as for mod groups - there's some stuff on the wiki about how to use shortcut properties to tell SMAPI to use a different mods folder; you then will launch the game with whichever mod group you want (via the relevant shortcut you made) and then just have some files you only play with mod group 1 and some with mod group 2

I notice that SMAPI contains the functionality for noticing when there is an updated version of a mod that's currently installed; if it can do that, surely it's just a few extra lines of code to automatically grab the new version and install it? is there some functionality for this that i'm not seeing?

John its actually a decent amount more coding plus also the updated version thing is based on modders updating their manifest whenever they update the mod, which they don't always remember to do (amusingly lemur posted immediately after you saying that...they forgot to update the manifest on one of their mods resulting a false update alert)

and most of the code is already written! that's why it surprised me that this functionality didn't already exist, the hard part by far is setting up the 'mod' objects so that smapi knows what an individual mod is, what version it has, etc, afaict all you'd need to do is add another attribute to that mod object, the "download link" attribute, and then you'd have to probably use some pre-existing library to set up the nexus connection, i can't imagine that's gonna be much more than a function that looks like, idk, "x = new NexusConnection(api_token, username, hash_of_password); x.getMod(nnnn);"

Implementing it for free would be an issue because nexus already provides that functionality for people who pay for premium

but like 3 weeks ago i wanted to replay skyrim, and i dug up my old copy of modorganizer (which is totally NOT the current best skyrim mod manager anymore but i already had a profile all set up)

and it has nexus integration, if you look at the white dialog box screenshot i posted it shows you the config page

i had to reset my password but once i typed it in again

i was able to hit the "update all mods" button and it just worked

@royal arrow Wabbajack is not affiliated with Nexus at all, and does not exist to solve auto updating, just to clarify. Wabbajack is an automated mod list installer that creates a cloned MO2 mod list based on every step required to create it, including downloading.

You need Nexus premium to automatically download files via the Nexus API, that's all.

And yeah Mod Updater will download updates automatically https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/6338 but it's opt-in and needs set up a specific way by the author, so only Routine and aedenthorn's mods use it right now, I think. Paradigm was experimenting for her mods, not sure if they're in yet.

yea ExnoticTest, you can check the size of the file, if it's HOOG, you can open it, copy from the very top of the log, to what I presume will be the end of the first error, and paste that into log.smapi.io to try to parse it

There's also the ever-present possibility of getting banned from Nintendo's services if they discover the jailbreak. With all of that, we can't really encourage or help with jailbreaking devices, but sometimes people come in that have already modded their Switch before and just need some help with getting the files to replace and such, which is a little more in the normal realm of modding...

I associate bricking with breaking, so by tampering with your device you can accidentally render it entirely inoperable. So for me personally even if the result is the same, bricking is something I did and banning is more external and worth a separate mention 😄

It won't remove any save data or progress. It will remove any customization or configuring of the mod itself you've done, so if you've edited any of the files you'd want to copy them out and back.

(Whether or not you have to completely delete the old files depends on the version you're currently on now. If you're on the version before the latest update, it should be fine to overwrite, but a clean install is always safe.)

Hey everyone. I spent yesterday updating all of my mods since coming back after over a year, and I'm getting confused re: Artisan Valley. I was told that PFM replaced CFR more or less, so I uninstalled CFR and now I'm getting some cascading conflicts. Also some SMAPI mods are not working such as Automate and Automatice Gates. Looks like you still have the CFR version of Artisan Valley
Remove that and get the PFM version, it should fix the errors at the top
(There's a conversion guide you should follow if you have any existing saves you still want to play on that used the CFR version)

Per the mod description, "Joja letter fix" is specifically for changing the letter that says a Joja employee found you. If that's not the letter you're trying to change, then that's why you're still seeing the same letter

SVE has its own version of the mod antisocial npc and that message is just saying its launching with that version, if you had the regular antisocial npc mod SVE will adjust accordingly so that's why the message is there

You can play SVE itself with any farm type. If you want the special farm that's in the SVE screenshots, you need to download that also (it's called IF2R, separate download on the same page as SVE) and pick standard farm.

Oh I see, never mind. Looking at the FTM code now, it looks like they added a new default for Android devices only.
(So on all other platforms it defaults to null, but on Android it defaults to 10 now which is very low)

I was using adopt n skin, but since i play in multiplayer, i had to remove it. Removing the mod left my animals, so i tried deleting all but one dog and one cat, but one dog's data was corrupted by petinteraction and I couldnt delete it

Could anyone help me get to the bottom of an issue I'm having? I have Eemie's recoloured maps, SVE (up to date so no karmylla mod in there) and some other overlay mods but for some reason my game won't load the summer outdoor tilesheets. Every other season is fine though? It doesn't crash as some other people posted, it just seems to load the vanilla colours when I try debug season summer. Haven't tried loading into summer naturally though so maybe it would crash.

Oh, I just noticed you were only using console commands to change it. In that case first try patch update in the SMAPI console just to make sure the season change is registered.

Is it a specific location, or all maps? patch export Maps/summer_outdoorsTileSheet will drop your final patched summer sheet into a patch exports folder in your game folder, so you could check that and see if it matches what you see in game or what you expect to see but don't

The only ones I see on Nexus is the Beta ones that are at the most recent version
