I'm aware that some of the mods dont work - i'm okay with those particular ones being ineffective. They don't seem to impact my gameplay. The mods that need to be updated i haven't got around to it because i've been lazy busy but they also don't seem to actively affect my gameplay.

the assets folder is fine. The problem is that the manifest.json and content.json files (supposed to be next to assets folder) are missing
they're in mods asswell
it basically just extracted the files seperately into mods

I've only planted hops and AF. The AF is fine it looks like and I planted hops outside the year before for Pam's quest. It is hops that make the ale right? And wheat is beer? But.. yeah..
I just planted starfruit too but I expect them to grow normally. Working on junimo huts.

My game crashes randomly, and I read somewhere that it could be a problem with my laptop having two graphics cards. I checked, and yes, I have an Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 card, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 card. Should I disable one of them, and if so, which one?
I'm also using the following mods at the moment:
Energy Time, Lookup Anything, Save Anywhere and UI Info Suite
it's pretty odd. Nothing stood out to me in your log @dreamy merlin 🤔 If you care to do some testing for research/debugging purposes, could you try planting some other trellis crops to see if it's a trellis thing?

i'm not sure about yours @pseudo solar. If you can still reproduce the issue when not running any mods, this might be a problem more suited to #vanilla-tech-support (I know you were sent here from there lol, but if you find it can happen both with and without mods, there might be better technical advice there)
I can tell you that if yours is a mod problem, it's almost certainly not UI Info Suite or Lookup Anything. It might be something in one of the other two either separately or combined... Save Anywhere is known to be buggy and conflict with a number of mods.

Maybe dumb question, but is there a mod that allows me to not accidentally chop down tiny saplings with my hoe swings, but instead have to use an axe?
When weeds grow next to the saplings it's kind of annoying to navigate around them
I totally understand if nobody wanted to spend their time on something so minor xD
I've heard of a few mods that affect trees/saplings, but none with that feature that I know of
If you stick tree fertilizer on em you can get em to grow up quick and be tougher lol

@rotund shadow it's in the config.json of the mod's CP pack.
UseIF2Greenhouse defaults to true, and controls whether or not you want to use the bundled IF2 greenhouse this mod has always used. Setting it to false will allow you to use any greenhouse interior or exterior you like, with a small catch - if you don't have FHR installed, most greenhouse maps will work fine, but ones with additional warps between rooms won't work correctly.

yes you can, there are instructions how to do it in the sve nexus page. need to edit the config of the mod to turn off the default greenhouse in ifr2

I don't know if that's anything you'd want to do Sylpie, but maybe make it so all stages of trees can only be chopped down with an axe, and not have them be ho-able in stage 1 and 2? 😄 That way it's impossible to accidentally destroy a tree when clearing out weeds.

If you're having lag troubles, try editing the Farm Type Manager (FTM) component for SVE like so:
Set the FTM config MonsterLimitPerLocation to 200 or lower if you're having lag trouble.

Hmmm, there's Festival End Time Tweak on nexus, idk if that's what you're looking for?

If you've still got problems with
200, try100, then50. (If you go all the way down to10and still lag, then it's probably not the source of the problem and you might be out of luck for running SVE)

I redownloaded/updated a bunch of mods and it replaced some butter churns with alembics and as I tried to remove them my game crashed o.o I'm not sure why.
Anyone downloaded the new aquarium mod? That requires train station. I've errors with mine n wondering if anyone else has?

If it is that bug, instructions are on the mod page. It's not something caused by train station, it's a tilesheet issue with other mods that change the Railroad map. Train Station mod can't fix it, you'd need to tell those mod authors to fix their misnamed tilesheets.
(And meanwhile train station will still work fine, it's just a visual glitch)

@smoky island 100% of donations via the donation button on Nexus goes to the user you donate to. It even says so on the "Donate to this user" page.
It is paypal basically so it's not recorded by Nexus nor handled by them.

I'm using dynamic night time, and I started experiencing a weird, but not game breaking issue with it? Before the issue there'd be the normal orangey sunrise, normal music, etc. Now it'll be evening lighting & cricket music from about 6AM-7AMish in game, then the lighting will bloop back to orangey and the crickets will go away and be replaced with normal music. Anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this issue? Is it a bug or something?

So I think it's actually because it's fall in my game, so a later sunrise. I checked in a different save where it's spring and it wasn't an issue

He didn't have the SMAPI-crash.txt but the SMAPI-latest.txt.
butter churn and alembic are from artisan valley
Yes, he is able to browse on the menu and enter our co-op world, the game says "Loading..." before a white, then a black screen happens, the game crashes then, but he says he is still able to hear the sounds in-game.

There's definitely some funky stuff going on with the JA items from Stardew Valley Expanded.
I don't know if that's causing the crashing, but it could be.
To start, try updating SVE/IF2R to newest versions
(for everybody who is playing)
And make sure you all have the same version of Json Assets as well.

@zinc smelt No, it's unlikely to be updated because its functionality has been absorbed by PFM. Unofficial updates are very common, and some open source mods have been abandoned for actual years at this point and are only getting updated unofficially.

And just to clarify, "unofficial updates" have nothing to do with "xnb mods" - it's just someone went and took the source code of the mod that broke and made changes to make it run, then compiled it and posted it for download.

That's a good one - there's a lot of window resizing in trace, which the game does not handle well when stuff is going on and causes errors like that. Stuff messing with graphics externally can do that, too, like tweak programs or certain overlays...

Look, if your game doesn't handle resizing the window 6 times a second while four overlays fight for who gets to draw first, is it even a real application?
Okay, we'll give it a shot, I made him delete the startup_preference, and I'll make him disable the apps, while also rebooting the his device.
(If they start automatically on boot, make sure to re-disable them after restart :P )

The grass that the mod spread all over town. Does it ever grow back after it's been cut, at any point?
If you cut all of it, no, I don't think so
But it spreads normally I believe, if you leave some and as long as you have the Winter Grass mod to protect it from freezing
ahhhhh stardew aquarium looks so neat, cant wait to add it to my game
it hasn't to any degree so far. I wasn't expecting it to spread, if it was possible it would make a mess of the map. However I thought it might reset to some degree with each change of the month. It hasn't, but I've only played into the first fall so far. Thought there might be chance of a reset at the turn of the year, if nothing else
No, there's no reset. I know because people who install SVE on an existing save never get all the off-farm grass that it adds

I know having it everywhere hampers the spawning of foragestuffs so most people wouldn't want it all coming back every month, but I'm afraid to touch it, given that it won't come back at all. I like the overgrown look.

hello~ This is regarding the train station mod:
I saw some people have an issue with some tile error. Is that the same as my issue where there is no update to my train station? I dont see a ticket booth and it looks like im missing the fence portion in the front. (in relation to the aquarium mod)
I know there was an update to the Train Station mod, and the mod description was updated to also explain a graphical issue some people were having. Did you grab the update, and check the mod description to see if that's the issue you're having?

I don't think so? I don't see the error they list "The specified Tile Index is out of range" I have my SMAPI log and it says no error for train station. I'm wondering if it's even loading into the game haha

SVE released a "compatibility patch" for train station that actually makes it not work at all anymore, so go back a version of SVE
hopefully the issue will be fixed soon but it's 100% on SVE's end

The latest update of SVE includes a patch for Train Station that is currently overwriting Train Station's map patch and making it unusable. Hopefully it will be fixed to be a proper compatibility patch soon, but if you're using both SVE and Stardew Aquarium, you need to go back to the previous version of SVE for the train station to work properly.

My guess is SVE added a conditional patch, and my edits go pretty early, so the new patch probably is just deleting the ticket station and tile action out of existence
it worked 🙂 theres nothing where the ticket booth is supposed to be but you can still interact with it haha

yeah that's another issue SVE needs to handle, it messes up the tilesheet order
and like every other map mod that changes the railroad
nobody cares about preserving tilesheet indexes until it breaks vanilla maps
but i access tilesheets the same way vanilla does
it's be great if map modders keep good habits for all maps, you never know when vanilla updates with code needing to access the sheets programatically in more maps too

Can someone help me out? I have SDV Expanded and I am trying to use the NPC Location mod. I downloaded the mod and it doubled up for some reason. (Two versions of the npc on the map). I deleted the mod and it is still showing their locations on the map, but the map is now set to default SDV, no longer expanded version.
do you have UI info suite? it's usually the case

Re: the "Changed save serializer Warning" mods like PyTK, Entoarox Framework, and a couple other ones give, I found this in the PyTK mod description:
"SMAPI warns that this mod 'may corrupt your save files, or make them unusable if you uninstall' it.
This is because PyTK accesses properties that COULD be used to change the serializer in that way, but doesn't actually change it.
So despite what the warning says, your save files will not be corrupted or become unusable when using or uninstalling this mod."

Yup! And if you wanted to make sure you saw 1 mod's dialog over the other, for example, Immersive Festival Dialogue as a priority, you can add a z to the beginning of the folder name
as a side note, the canon-friendly dialogue expansion mod description has a little tidbit explaining how "conflicts" would work

@rugged hazel how did you check if she was present? if you don't know, you can type debug where Susan on the smapi console to make sure she isn't spawning somewhere (as long as you have the console commands mod that comes with smapi install)
Okay so my new mod Aggressive Acorns is causing an error with Save Anywhere because of its protection level? "Only public types can be processed." Can I do something about that?
I can't speak to that specific error; someone else here might know. I do know Save Anywhere is incompatible with an awful lot of stuff. I think because it's on the older side and changes a Really Big game mechanic
Yeah, it works with all my other mods though. It's just because Aggressive Acorns has a higher protection level that it doesn't work.

hi, i have an odd question. in the automate mod there is a config file that adds wood paths to the list of "circuit" paths. i was wondering if it can be used to add other paths then wood as i'm not a fan of using it next to some of the stone paths
wood would help differentiate what is used for connection and what is used for pathing

i found this on the stardew aquarium mod comments page: As long as you have all the mods fully updated, It should be there (Kind of), SVE currently changes the tiles for that map so it may be invisible or appear as something else, due to those map changes [Which we can't do much about sadly.]. (But the 'Changed" ticket machine should still interactable and functional.)

does it happen without any mods installed? (you can temporarily rename the Mods folder to something else so smapi doesn't find it). or you could try deleting the startup_preferences file (or renaming it), it's probably in ~/.config/StardewValley @stone barn

@languid badge it depends on the usage. Some things in multiplayer use individual luck level, other things use the average luck level of all players.

Yeah it was just a tiny bug fix to a Miscellaneous file which counts as an "update"

The downloads file should be okay right..? I don't know why I'm having problems even with the instructions I'm usually not like this at all
You can keep the extracted SMAPI folder in your Downloads. That's where I usually put it.

Without checking, I think world things use the average luck (like number of monsters spawning, ore node spawns, likelihood of ladders/holes, SC treasure rooms), and individual things use individual luck (like how many geodes or coal from breaking a rock, stuff lost when dying)

The average luck might be more helpful. Host luck alone won't affect anything except for the host, who can already see with e.g. UI info suite

It seems no, If you open the content.json file, you're given the options on which ones you want.
By changin the "Default": "Standard" to "Default": "Sean5861" for instance, that will give you your default farm

Looking at the ModDrop mod loader since it was mentioned on SVE's page. Does anyone use it or any other mod managers for sdv? Are there any potential complications with it/them?
I know ModDrop is recommended over Vortex (which is the nexus mod manager). I believe people have fewer issues with ModDrop than Vortex, based on who asks for help here. Vortez seems to have quirks related to eating manifest and/or config files.
So recommendations would be manual install > ModDrop > Vortex.
ModDrop also allows for modpacks, which is cool, especially if you're trying to share a group of mods for multiplayer
Hey everyone. Got a question about Elle's Seasonal Buildings.
I saw someone in that forum post that they had an issue where even when changing the color in the config file they are seeing the default colors. I'm having a similar issue but I see blue on one save file and white on another. Am I editing the wrong file?

What is baffling me is that in one save file the starting farm is bluish like it should be but when I start a new game it's not.
I can go back and forth between the save files and one is always blue and the other always white.

Ok, so for a more well described situation:
My house that is blue has been upgraded once because I'm in winter. My GF cabin kind of looks off white and chicken coop is also the same off white color
My house that is white is on a brand new farm. The 3 cabins that I added just to see how they look all kind of look the same white.

I understand that may be the case but I'm confused why my chicken coop looks kind of white when the screen shots on the site make the chicken coop look like wood.
The wood is an alternate config setting I think.
Xavier, I'm looking at the reference pics for the color palette and building theme. I personally haven't upgraded my farmhouse yet since installing the mod, but if you have it set to Eemie and color, and blue, I think it should stay blue

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this, sorry if not. So I had to turn off my PC abruptly earlier via the power button on the tower. Since then Steam has forgotten the custom SMAPI location thing. When I try to use the SMAPI .bat to get the location again it fails to load. Double clicking it says 'The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000e5)' and running as admin it says 'Windows cannot find 'internal/windows-install.exe'. Not sure what to do at this point?
Are you able to run your game by clicking StardewModdingAPI.exe directly?
If so, you can just use the filepath for that exe to create the custom thingy
"filepathgoeshere" %command% is all it is
Does that happen when you run by clicking the exe directly, not through Steam?
It loads as it should when clicking the exe. I'm just worried this will cause other problems later down the line?

Yes you need dependecies otherwise the mod will be disabled to prevent crashes
