No, Sophia is a SVE character so I don't think you can add her without SVE
And also a thing to note is that farmhands cannot marry custom NPCs in multiplayer, which is a thing I think to mention whenever someone wants to add Sophia to a multiplayer game!!

@molten rivet I have a free account too and I just downloaded it after downloading several others today. The only thing I can think of is to try one more time. Sometimes it just shows that message, but it means that the speed of your download is going to be a few seconds slower than if you paid for it.
You can go to your mods folder and put a . in front of the name of the mod you want to stop
If you want all your mods to stop, you can go through the uninstall process on the wiki

So this may be a stupid question, in before someone goes "there's no such thing as a stupid question" yeah yeah, okay. So. I found this beautiful seasonal building mod but I also installed the fairy overgrown buildings mod as well, would it mess up anything ?
You can use something like Customize Exterior to pick and choose how each building appears. But as a CP pack you can't use them together as the last one to load is what will be reflected in the game

Having some issues getting the JA Kisekae Skirts mod working. They're showing up in the CJB Item Menu but when I put them on, it looks like I'm not wearing anything.

@rose python Most likely. It lists all the mods and links so you can check if there is an update. Sometimes a modder could make mistake when writing manifest but it's rare

Well I am stumped! Sometimes JA things overwrite other JA things. If you want to spend an afternoon troubleshooting, you could try disabling mods one at a time to figure out if that is your issue. You can also check out the messages from farmer cass in this channel from July 24 to see if it's the same issue you were having and figure out if they fixed it
Also maybe someone who knows a little more will be around later-lurking in this channel often pays off if you see someone who looks knowledgeable pop in!

Hmm, that looks right except that the mods SMAPI normally installs are not in there. That shouldn't affect SVE as far as I know, but maybe try with those installed?

Also are you using SVE in a different language? Sometimes those are not up to date and things go a little funny
@daring wagon No no, I'm on PC. Trying to use a PS4 controller but it doesn't automatically recognize the same way Xbox controllers do.

@daring wagon got it figured out, one of my bigger clothing mods was overwriting the Kisekae skirts. Took it out and now it's working fine

Of course this issue starts after I fixed the issue where the game wouldn't save.
I'm just surprised that out of my 374 mods, the game still runs, especially on my average laptop.
The only error you have is about missing QF for Ayeisha

So at first the issue was with Multiple Spouses and TMX Loader, but then I uninstalled MS and reverted a day, but I'll try using the save-backups folder too.

Hello? I am attempting to mod this lovely game and I'm wondering if anyone has a clue to aid me.
Firstly, I got SDV Expanded, but the mod folders look strange, not sure if they should I got everything it said I needed too - When launching the game, the Debris on my farm is the same as if it was a standard farm.
Second - For some reason, launching the game via SMAPI through steam I did the copy paste, it resets all my settings each time. Sound, Resolution, Fullscreen or no, keybinds, etc.
Did you also download the IF2R file? SVE doesn't change the farm map without it
IF2R is another download on the mod page
Am I allowed to SS the Folder of mods?

I think it was Artisan Valley.
(oh wait, it's terrible value for money given it takes 10 black peppers and 10 red peppers and sells for 777g
oh yes, vinegar cask, pretty sure I actually have that. So many Artisan machines!
and 10 black peppers sell for 930g
(that's kind of why I've stayed away from Artisan Valley, I'm sure it's great, but's a lot of stuff ๐ )
The settings also somehow appear to be saving appropriately.
Does anyone have a trick for avoiding going deaf on the mainmenu aside from using the windows volume mixer instead of the ingame one? There is no option to lower sound outside of a loaded save, that I can find

So there's FarmHouse.loadSpouseRoom, that is patched by TMXLoader that is having trouble.
I wonder if the game (and TMXL) has special coding for Krobus's room that might break if he's treated as a spouse and not exactly as a roommate the way the vanilla game has

I reported it a few days ago, so I think I know what's causing it. It's probably because I have mods that edit the farmhouse (CustomizeChildBedroom & Bathroom after 2nd House upgrade).
I tried deleting Customize Child Bedroom, but that didn't help.
I'll try reverting my save with that save-backups folder, be right back.
Does anyone know of a mod that makes enemies do more damage? I don't mean the hardcore mods as those don't seem to make much difference to my file and everything hits me for 1 HP at the moment
are you using other mods that are affecting the combat? or defense stats?
Not to my knowledge that I haven't already deleted. Only 'combat' mod I used was the one that lets you attack in your click direction. (Which I have since deleted anyway)
How about CJB cheats menu? I am pretty sure it does something like that, but that's a setting you can just fix
yea the only combat mod I know of makes enemies hit you for less, which is the opposite you want 
I think CJB Cheats Menu only has options to nerf the combat, which is the opposite of what MrMan wants o:

The Crimson Badlands in SVE has some stronger monsters. I can't kill them/survive there yet

I found the other person who had the issue. We never got a fix, but they suspected it was Another Hunger Mod (something that buffs defense). The problem persisted even after uninstalling. Did you ever use that mod?

We suspected it might have changed something in the save file, but they weren't able to share their save for investigation.

I fiddled and touched some things, and turns out windows volume mixer was 'to blame' for my sudden case of deafness.
When first installing/launching SMAPI, you use a different exe than playing unmodded, hence, you must change the mixer again

It normally has a value equal to your boots defense value (+5 if you have ring 810 equipped)

Whichever one is for your save that is broken. It would be in (on Windows) %APPDATA%\StardewValley\Saves. There's a folder like CharName_123456789 for each save, and then a file named the same thing inside the folder

@cursive wharf I don't use SVE, but when you say options, do you mean in the config file? As someone who doesn't use SVE, it would seem like you can put the cabins wherever? You need the cabins first though, to have someone join you on an existing save

I have further investigated the option of Far Cabins, and after extensive searching via Robins Map-Hack-Tool, I have concluded that
- I am mildly upset with myself for spoiling the 'Restricted Sections' contents, but mainly:
- The Cabins do not exist.
Thus, I hereby conclude for future people in need of this answer, with SVE in Multiplayer, you are to select 'Near' Cabins, or your Cabins will decide to either cease to exist, or highly unlikely, but I did not explore the Map outside have decided to move off your Farm.
Would you mind also posting that to the SVE mod comments on nexus, that you have to select "near" for the cabins? This is extra but it would be helpful 
I suspect the Cabins may have thought 'Far' meant 'Significantly Further Away than just the Farm'. Possibly the City, or a different Game such as HarvestMoon or Animal Crossing. I shall plant a comment in the mod page!

I see the issue is that the 'catGift' mod calls the dog's head icon directly from the catDogicons.xml, whereas Elle's Dog Replacements uses CP method, I assume that's why

hey guys so im using the latest smapi with split screen mod that works for 1.4 and i got it to work, the only problem is i cant resize both screens

MaxLoku, some mods work on Android while others don't. You'll likely have to check the mod description and comments to see if it works with Android, because unfortunately there isn't a consolidated list

Did you try testing resizing without any mods, like Brie Chardonnay suggested? If it happens even with no mods installed, then you go to #vanilla-tech-support. That channel is for issues with no mods installed

If you drag and drop to overwrite files inside a folder on Mac, all previous files inside that folder will be deleted (whether or not there is a replacement for them)
Unlike for PC, which only replaces folders and leaves the others alone.
Oh, I had someone with vintage interface earlier. The original version hasn't been updated since January 2019 and that seemed to be causing some issues. You could try switching that out for Vintage Interface 2
So installing XNB mods on mac is especially risky. You can accidentally delete a whole bunch of additional game files when you do

Resetting the game files as suggested ought to fix it.
(By literally just loading dialogue for them)
(And on Mac you also need to be careful, for the same reason, if you're ever installing a compatibility patch between different mods that goes into a different mod's folder)

Open your steam library, right click SDV and uninstall it. Then reinstall it. But move your save file and mods folder to a safe place beforehand.
@outer turret I had an idea to fix the cellar. By deleting the spouse room mods for every custom NPC I'm not married to.

Maybe you can comment out the edits for Gunther, Bouncer, and Marlon, and see if that temporarily fixes it? You'd edit the content.json by adding // in front of the entries, including the { }
From there, we could see about how to change it so the portrait edits don't cause SMAPI to look for dialog. I know Gunther gets new portraits and sprites in Seasonal Villager Outfits (SVO) without this issue

I've had Stardew for like two years and just realized that my farm animals have Japanese names because my sister, the farmhand.
Maybe it's something specific to old content patcher schema?
ahaha i don't use sve currently too, i find it messes with a lot of custom npc pathing
But there shouldn't be that significant a difference from 1.10 to 1.14 
I know SVO is up to 1.15 now but it worked fine for Gunther even in 1.14
@fast ruin Open the content.json again, look at the very top, there's a part called "Format": "1.10"
change that to be 1.14 instead of 1.10
(it's not the most recent version... 1.15 makes a lot of big changes... but 1.14 is recent-ish and should still work OK I think)
the one missing from the intro quest was Randy because he was spawning in the void. I have met him now however, so I'm not sure why he hasn't been counted
@outer turret forgot to mention that Random Visitors is working again, so I upped the amount of NPC created to around 150 (probably shouldn't have).
Then save and retry, you know the drill

This is honestly so bizarre. How do other portrait mods not have this problem? 
@dawn prawn can you try temporarily disabling the Ran's Faux Stairs and Platforms mod by adding . at the beginning of the folder name, and then trying again? I only wonder about this mod because it's from 2018
I'm not sure if there is a fix for this, but with tree texture mods, the static trees in the background break, only showing part of it. Has anyone else had an issue like this?
I've only seen this in my own saves at the path leading to the entrance to Herbert's house, but it didn't matter if it was Stardew Foliage Redone or Flower Valley, both caused the issue. I didn't manage to fix it though

When you remove the anthro mod, these errors don't happen? And when you add it back again, they do?

Can you try disabling anthro mod and install some other, random portrait mod that changes Gunther OR Marlon OR Henchman OR Bouncer?

Um, Robin and Marnie have two mailboxes in front of their houses, because of Ayeisha... Is there a way to fix that?
@heavy sail that's a feature, not a bug. The mod author thought they'd get enough mail to justify 2 mailboxes I was wrong, this was only an idea in the early stages of development
Is there any way by mod or otherwise to unlock the 1-3x per day dialogue limit with other characters?

What other mods do you have installed? Ayeisha moves some vanilla mailboxes, but if another mod changes the mailbox to a different location the Ayeisha mod won't know where it is
I remember in early stages of development, TheLimeyDragon wanted them to have 2 mailboxes o.o
The mods that add mailboxes are SVR2, Stardew Enhanced - The Town, and Ayeisha, but they don't overlap.
SETown actually deletes some of Ayeisha's mailboxes.

Hm, if 2 mailboxes is intentional, that is confusing. I would suggest Limey consider bigger mailbox sprites instead

I'd mentioned that as well, but they were initially not confident in their artistic abilities. They may have changed their mind and actually removed the 2nd mailbox though o: in which case it's just an incompatibility thing

In looking at the mod pictures for Ayeisha, looks like Robin is not supposed to have 2 mailboxes, sooo that solves that ๐
yeah it's also puzzling, most of the complaints i've seen with the anthro mod is when it's also used with sve and they both have their own festival maps so players have to choose one or the other

That Slime Hutch to Menagerie mod works perfectly, now they can't kill me.

I don't know why I thought that regeneration thing wouldn't work.
One thing I don't like about that More Animals mod is that poor animals live in that box and I can't get anymore without my game lagging ๐.

okay so I think I may have got Boarding House, Stray Catfe and Athanaeri to all work together. Firstly I had to remove the map properties from the Athaenaeri pathway, then I set a dependency on it for Boarding House. @fickle sundial
Help us oh @tired brook, we're completely out of ideas with a smapi error situation 
To summarize: @fast ruin is seeing game errors as seen here (https://smapi.io/log/83d9adbf2ee54e5fa1f4dd7c37be7e50) if and only if using the anthro characters mod. Inexplicably.
The errors involve the SMAPI content manager and have something to do with dialogue failing to load for Henchman, Bouncer, Gil and Marlon... but these characters have no dialogue files in the vanilla game and the anthro mod does not add anything related, it only edits their portraits and sprites.
We have tried:
- updating "Load" to "EditImage" throughout the content.json
- reverting to a previous version of content patcher
- resetting game files and even reinstalling SDV entirely
Aww, how cute. My junimos are making my flowers look ugly.
Anyway, that's all we can do for now. Might be a while before Pathos sees his pings, but I'm sure he'll get to it

So guys I need help. I recently updated teh SVE mod and it loaded up fine, except for one thing
None of the extra characters (Victor, Sophia, etc.) aren't showing up.
I did get SMAPI errors about it and Idk how to fix it.

@ruby leaf Remove all SVE files and dependencies from your mods directory then reinstall. There's been large reformats since 1.10.
(mostly my fault because I chose a dumb file structure)
So delete and redownload all files pertaining to the SVE and then put them back and it should work?
