That's how I narrowed one of mine down.

I've never had an issue with your mods, East Scarpe (well, a little issue) & NPC Jasper have been working fine on my end.
Maybe it's a bug with Town School, the issue started on the first day of school.

the good news is, you don't have too many mods, so you can try temporarily disabling or removing mods to see which one isn't playing well with the rest. I'm first curious about auto fishing.
You can disable mods temporarily by adding a . to the beginning of the name, like .AutoFishing

It looks like there's an issue with the Spanish translation for CFDE with the line being in the wrong format. Can you try using the English version https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2544 and see if you get the same error? If the error doesn't show up then you'll have to translate the English version of that line over to Spanish. I would also recommend posting a bug report on the translation page so the converter is aware and may put out an update.
Also side note: Replying to people when you have a solution or idea is best since it can be frustrating thinking somebody is helping only to find out they have no idea how to resolve the problem.

(the eemie map recolor warnings are a personal preference edit to not use their features, I only have it for Flower Valley)

This is the first time I've had this issue and I've let it hang hoping against hope it would finally save >_> (so I haven't tested it)
One thing I did do was change my farm's name by editing the save, but I did a search and replace to do that
I would test on a new save to see if it's limited to that one before mucking around in the file.
when I try to enter to roborobin it doesn't work
I mean I open the save file and it crash
I tested rolling back the previous day, and also a new save, both times, I was able to save on sleep with no issues. On testing rolling back the previous save though, all I did was load and then immediately save, so idk if maybe it's something I did during the actual in-game day that could have caused it to get stuck on the black screen?

There is a mod for unlimited multiplayer here https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2213. I would recommend that over a save editing tool, personally.

your save is probably broken--i use unlimited players and it works much more smoothly
If you're using a save editor, those aren't really recommended the one I know of I don't think is updated for 1.4
And even before 1.4 it was prone to breaking saves

Also I think you had adjusted the file names? Setting some to load later by name could disrupt load order and set up conflicts.
It could also be SE Town itself. I'll need to check and see if it loads its warps. Or possibly Karmyllas maps but you've disabled the Town map in it, yes?
If you've completed the community center though Karms loads itself anyway.
alen, if your game is breaking when you enter robin's shop, something is wrong with your save. you need to undo any changes you did through a save editing program and try using the save again, or start a new save and don't touch it with a save editor.

@heavy sail This might fix your warp issue with East Scarpe. Let me know if it works. I think it is mostly likely the fact that you've renamed Karmylla's maps that is causing my warps to break, however. As they load last and will over-ride any TMXL added Town warps. Any particular reason why you "zz"ed them?

Hiya guys. My virtual keyboard and toolbar n sate box have all become tiny. I've been able to resize toolbar n datebox but don't know why they all become so small. I haven't touched my virtual keyboard
@hazy leaf as far as I can tell the mod the previous version of john npc was clashing with was itself, with the two-patches error resulting in the social menu error!
as in i changed nothing else in my modlist, just updated john from previous to current version, and now my menu works again
this would also explain why you couldnt recreate it after fixing the two-patch error because it was the same bug

This means the author has made then unavailable without completely deleting the page. Sometimes it's temporary and they unhide it later (maybe after fixing or changing the mod).
You can still use it if you downloaded a copy earlier.
Any reason for the authors to hide them?
- fixing major bugs
- making big changes that could take a while
- problems or bugs that they're not sure how to resolve yet (like maybe not compatible yet for SDV 1.4)
- they don't like the mod anymore and are embarrassed by it
- they've used other people's stuff without permission and are afraid of getting taken down
- they don't want people using the mod anymore
- they felt like it π€·

I think so, yeah.

There are expansion-style mods that add a bunch of content and characters to the game, Stardew Valley Expanded is the most popular.
There are overhaul mods that target a specific area of the game or mechanic; Teh's Fishing Overhaul was a popular one for customizing fishing, but it doesn't work currently and only has unnofficial updates if you want to use it.

Well, SVE is the most popular like I said. There are many mods that add new NPCs and content on a smaller scale. I know of a couple other large expansion mods that are still in development, like Sundrop City or Stardew Aquarium
And there are many mods you can use to add new items to the game - like More New Fish, many many mods in the PPJA collection for crops and trees and recipes
And a couple other cool ones I can think of are DeepWoods mod (adds an infinite forest dungeon) and Swim mod (lets you swim on all maps and dive underwater for treasure)
Also Garden Village (and Walk to the Desert) can technically count as expansions, since they add new areas. I believe Mermaid Island is also popular
But yea it depends on what specifically you want to expand or overhaul, not all expansions/overhauls have those words in the title π
there's also boarding house and east scarpe that add new locations and npcs!
East Scarpe has some extra little features for its map that are nice, too. Plus that pretty lighthouse...

@late tapir I'm not sure if it'll help your particular problem, but I'm on a Mac and had issues with the tractor mod crashing my game at first, and reinstalling Mono fixed it. If that doesn't work, uploading your error log will hopefully let people who understand the fine details better than I do help out. π

Did you go to json.smapi.io, the JSON validator? That's different from the log one (log.smapi.io)
Also, you can post your stuff here. I honestly thought you were looking at a config file for something else, I'm not on Android, so I wouldn't be able to help with config files for Virtual Keyboard. However, there are other people here in the chat that are on Android, so they could help!

also has anyone else had issues with SVE where the wrong music plays? i keep randomly getting the community center completion music at the start of a day, at first i though it was an issue with the jukebox but i started a new file and on the 2nd day it started with that CC music instead of the usual spring music
only assuming its related to SVE bc ive never had the issue on vanilla, and SVE is the only mod i have that affects anything related to music

Ugh, I have been there, so I get it. I randomly have people go into JojaMart just disappear but the map is like "they're in there!"
The issue would resolve itself on a new day, or even on reloading the day, so I couldn't reproduce it. Mouse gave me a potential fix for it, but they were like "it could still happen with this fix" so I was like "I'll keep it! If it happens again, at least we can rule out this first fix then"
its really not that big of a deal, im just weird and sometimes want certain tracks playing in the house or in certain sheds for the ~aesthetics~
That's fair. What you can also test is if it happens on a save without SVE, but with the rest of your mods (you can temporarily remove or toggle off all the SVE mod folders, by adding a . in the beginning of the folder name)
i'll try that on a different save! (though if it turns out not to be SVE, with the number of mods i have id rather just live with it than try to figure out one by one which one it is lmao)

Uhh, Longevity is a pretty old mod that can cause issues with other mods (PPJA stuff in particular)
Idk if SVE does any of the balancing aspects that Longevity does though

Also dewymango, if it does turn out to be SVE, I recommend checking the bug reports for SVE to see if someone already reported the same issue. If they did, you can add your log and your description to it. If not, you can create a bug report and again include a description of the issue and your log

Hmm. I don't think so, but I know there are baby/toddler mods that might allow you to customize the looks in a way that would better match a spouse from Diverse SDV
Just nothing that has it automatically set up for diverse spouses, I don't think
@obsidian beacon unfortunately the mod author for Peachy Objects did not set up their mod to be modular, so that you could use some but not all. You'd have to open up the png files in an editor that shows you coordinates (like GIMP, which is free) to figure out what the coordinates are for the ones you do want to use, and then write some stuff in a content.json for it. So it's not an easy task
The babies takes after spouses one has a dark skin color version for at least Sebastian, that I can recall, and I think I saw one that lets you have darker skin babies, but it's not in general
The X and Y coordinates for where they are in the PNG file
Or do a DIY xnb project and put your preferred peachy icons directly in the game's content files

Hey all. So I was able to get Smapi to work on my phone so yay!
Now this is the first time a mod hasn't worked. Tried getting the magic mod to work. I changed the keys on the virtual keyboard to 1-4 like it asked. The mod loads up and actually works in the game. It's just when I actually try and cast any of the spells nothing. Also no Mana bar. I wonder if it just doesn't work for mobile at all?
Or okay, approved version, edit your preferred peachy icons into a copy of the game spritesheet and use the whole thing as a Replace-all content patcher mod with like 5 lines of json. 
To add to that, get the DYI content pack, put in the peachy icons you do want, and replace the files in the peachy objects mod with the one you edited (can make a backup first), and write no lines of json because you can use the existing ones!

Ok jk there's no DYI pack for what you need, so you'd have to unpack the game's springobjects file (and other files, depending on which ones you wanted to edit) , following these instructions https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Editing_XNB_files#Unpack_game_files on how to unpack XNB files in order to edit the assets inside!
Once you do that, you'll need an image editor, I recommended GIMP because it's free, to copy paste the items from Peachy Objects you want, to the file you unpacked (will need to erase the items you want to replace so there's no weird overlap, and be sure to line them up properly). You can make a copy of the original peachy objects files (in case you wanted to revert back, or something), then put the file you edited into the Peachy Objects mod folder, and it should work.

Anything that changes only aesthetics, like your favorite animal replacers, building repainters, world recolors won't affect gameplay and can really make it nice. I also really like Seasonal Villager Outfits (or Diverse Seasonal Villager Outfits) to make things more visually immersive.

The mod manager download is only for when you need your mod manager to download it, so if you aren't using some program like ModDrop or Vortex you should definitely use manual, yep. SMAPI stands for Stardew Modding API, so it's usually the same thing, but could depend on who wrote what you're looking at!
If it refers to anything but SMAPI though, someone is just stealing pufferchick's cape and playing pretend

i think peachy objects edits all or most of the spring objects png so you'd have to go to assets, open up the png in something like paint.net, erase just the ones you don't want from there, and then save the new edited png file

You'd have to replace the ones you don't want with the vanilla items though, because otherwise it'll load a blank for that item

Peachy Objects' content.json has 1 big edit for everything in the springobjects file, which is what makes it tricky
It has other lines of code in there, but everything in the springobjects file is loaded in 1 big edit. Other mods that do similar stuff usually load individual items, by the coordinates

Awesome, I was just wondering about some compatibility issues I was having, in the SVE mod I was really interested in using the Immersive Farms 2 Remastered mod on a new co-op world, but for some reason my friends cannot see the world, despite having it also downloaded on their computers, I was also wondering if this was a cause for them not being connected to a house (It says that the starter parsnip seeds are not theirs) and that it is causing them to not be able to leave the farm, only fading to black, as well as spawning in a random place on the farm

I'll see if I can get some logs tonight, as they logged off. I believe most of the mods worked. When they didn't have the mods installed, it would crash when they tried to enter Pelican town, but after they downloaded the mods they were able to do all the other actions in the mod, such as interact with the new NPCs. This was a brand new save, and I added 3 houses when I started the world on a standard farm.
I also tried this with a different farm mod, as well as without any farm mod as well. The different farm mod did not work either, and without a farm mod it crashed, although that could have been a one instance bug

while i'm here tho, i also have some info regarding the SVE co-op crashes.
This was the log that we used to test the farm. When she logged on, she saw nothing but the standard farm, while I saw the Immersive Farm.

We did a bit more testing, it turns out she was also unable to see any of the new SVE maps, despite having the mods. She crashed when one of the new NPCS came on screen, I think, the crash log keeps crashing the smapi log site, is there any other way I should link the crash?

Oh, I think your conflict with Befriend Marlon and Gunther may be with the Diverse Seasonal Villager Outfits mod. I use plain Seasonal Villager Outfits (SVO) and I manually commented out the Gunther edits in SVO, by adding // at the beginning of each line of the Gunther edits, both portrait and sprite in the content.json for SVO

@outer turret I'm actually thinking when coraline found out shes pregnant, the wizard gave her a potion to reverse it but instead it did nothing except change her hair and eyes to brown. And as she grew up her hair and eyes returned to normal and caroline just says she dyed it to hide the truth

@royal arrow sorry to bother, regarding the Content Patcher issue, she's about to try it out and see if it fixes, but for my other friends on the server, the only issue they had was with the immersive farm not loading. Would that also be an issue with content patcher? They are able to see and use the rest of the mod features, the only one that doesn't work is the farm.
Would this also fix the issue where it didn't connect players to houses? My friends wouldn't spawn in the houses I had built for them, and they couldn't pick up the starter parsnips

They did download it, and all of the other mods worked fine for them, for some reason it was only immersive farms which didn't seem to work. For one person, they had accidentally installed content patcher twice and that was making them crash, but for everyone else everything but the farm worked

TMX Immersive Farm 2 Remastered 1.10.10 because it needs the 'Immersive Farm 2 Remastered' mod, which couldn't be loaded.
But I believe this was from the Content Patcher issue, which only affected one person

Hmmmmm, the new PPJA fresh meat beta adds some of the recipes from PPJA even more recipes into it's own self so now I'm getting duplicate error messages in SMAPI
I assume a way to fix that would be to delete those files out of Even More Recipes folder?

Hi, I'm rather new to Stardew (~50 hours or so played, completely vanilla, game is from steam) and wanted to - at some point - start another save file with a bunch of mods (SDVE, Item Spawner, Tractor, etc.). Is there a way for me to mod only one of those save files considering that I have the game on steam? I know that w/o steam I can install a mod organizer, etc., but I saw that installing it on steam is different, and looks like I have to change the game open command, which seems to imply that I have to change it every time I want to run it with and/or without mods?
on a separate note, is it possible to start a game and spawn the tractor in XD. If I start a new game I'd rather start it with a full farm and just enjoy SDVE
To start with or without mods, you can go into the game folder and choose to either start from the stardewvalley exe or from the modded exe
starting from the original exe boots the game without mods
even when your game is on steam?
my shortcut gives me something like

make a shortcut on your desktop that just goes to the plain stardew exe
when you install smapi, you're putting a new exe in your game folder - the stardewmoddingapi exe
which you launch the game through when you want to play the game modded
launching without using that gives you the vanilla game
OK so essentially the changing launch options simply means that if I run the game through steam then it'll run the modded version

Also do keep in mind, achievements only work with modded if you boot through steam, I learned that the hard way

@fathom timber another thing to keep in mind is that smapi itself won't hurt anything, even on an old save. If you run a completely vanilla game through it, all it will do is give you a few more troubleshooting options. If you do that, you just have to make your mods inaccessible-put a period before every mod you don't want to load or make two mod folders-one that's empty (except for maybe smapi's console commands) and one that has the mods you want to play with, and substitute them out. Lots of options, some simpler than others π
And the tractor worked fine when I dropped it into my year 3 heavily modded save.

You'll need to buy the tractor shed from Robin, so unless you have a mod that speeds up her building time, you'll need to wait a couple days. I'm not sure if there're other requirements to unlock it either.
As long as you keep a different mod folder for that old vanilla save and put that folder in before you load it, SVE won't appear in an old save. I do that when I want to test mods to see if they work-copy my current mod folder out of the place it is and put in a new one. But if another way made more sense to you, go for it!!
so when you install, it adds a "mod" folder in the installation folder
and you can move that in and out at will, is that what I'm hearing?
and it won't break anything in the game itself, unless you're playing a modded save file and it goes looking for it

I think you still have to have a folder in the game folder (instructions on where to find that on windows: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Find_your_game_folder) labeled "Mods" but it doesn't have to have anything in it, yeah. Console Commands (which is part of smapi) is a good thing to keep in there just in case and shouldn't mess with anything.

Are you saying that the Furniture Anywhere mod doesn't work on Android? The only issue listed on the mod compatibility listing is "Many players report a crash when season changes to winter."

A lot of this looks like double recipes, but surprisingly, from Aquilegia's Sweet Tooth and Artisan Valley both having the same recipes, which they don't for me. I don't have better mixed seeds, but maybe there's a conflict there?

Me and my friends are playing stardew expanded and only the host can see the new characters in holiday events and then my friend tried marrying one of them and the game crashes when we try to go to bed for the wedding

Yeah, this bug happens in multiplayer with custom NPCs from any mod.
You'll need to revert to a previous save from before the proposal

I wonder what itβd take to make a player portrait mod. Itβd be interesting to see a base male and female base drawn, and then just layers of the different shirts and hair designs on top. I feel like if all the clothing and hair was drawn, the only real issue with it is that itβd be extremely hard to get every single color option available.

Yeah there's a lot of spritesheets that have different language versions to replace text. Most recolours only have one version, unless they've taken time to recolor the signs for other language sheets and patch them in conditionally.

The Vortex mod manager just helps you organize and update your mods, and choose which ones are "Active" (i.e. located in the Mods folder currently). It does all the shuffling of folders around for you if you enable or disable mods through the manager.
So you use SMAPI and run the game like usual, and it will run with whichever mods have been activated in Vortex (plus any mods that you put in your Mods folder yourself, circumventing Vortex)
SMAPI handles most dependencies itself already through manifest files, so a manager isn't necessary for dealing with Stardew mod dependencies.

Hello so I'm having a problem where my friend is unable to join my farm that we've done several days on. If I make a new farm they are able to join, but they just get stuck on the loading screen on the old one

Dumb question but i can't seem to find an answer. Does the Stardew valley expanded mod add any new events or dialogue with Penny? (She's the only spouse i actually like lmao)

@stable maple Did you recently update anything? If you updated Fresh Meat right before this happened, the author would probably appreciate you posting that issue and log on the nexus page-they just put that out as a beta
Penny expanded should work actually. It's just events that might have clipping problems... but you can install No Clip to prevent getting stuck!
(It's just your character might walk through building objects)
Anything you and your friend just updated, I'd revert (delete or put a period in front of the folder name for each mod you just updated and go get the previous version that you know worked)
Also, the new fresh meat update requires some mods that they don't have installed, so they'd need to install those to get that to work anyway
