Mouse, yes, they've only been able to access during summer market - the things that could cause a break I'd guess would be maybe the tile sheets, but both maps use the same ones

I noticed people usually get this error when playing with SVE, but the weird thing is: the map that crashes is the island itself, which is a complete new location

One of these errors has a mention of spacecore in it, not sure that's relevant ... I will try testing as a farmhand

Dammit, going to beachisland as farmhand still works for me out of separate mod folders (though I admittedly don't know what difference that would have made), what is different? broods

Once you install SVE, you need to install NPC Map Locations. there's an optional file for SVE. And NPC Map Locations has a config file (generated after you load the game once with NPC Map Locations installed) and then in the config file, you can set up the minimap
do you have any map recolors? they may be overwriting the map provided by NPC Map Locations

@lost valley if you're updating to a new version of SVE, yes, you need to delete all the folders for SVE, including the JA one

just replace those with newly installed versions?
no for SVE, delete all of its folders before installing the new ones. the folder structure has changed a lot so you'll have issues if you overwrite files. The way to update is to delete all the old folders before installing the new ones

okay so I spoke a little bit tooooo soon, the map that's appearing isn't the recolor (which isn't a huge deal) but I'm wondering if it's possible to get it to be the recolor. I downloaded the main NPC maps locations SVE version file then the optional Stardew Foliage Redone Maps for Stardew Valley Expanded and extracted into Mods\NPCMapLocations\maps. when it didn't show the recolor originally I deleted the two flashshifter file folders that were in /maps, but it's still not making a difference
yea, i extract all the zips into one folder, then all the Mod folders are inside that one folder

@lost valley it's helpful if you're trying to debug / troubleshoot, but it's not a requirement. SMAPI adds Console Commands and Save Backup when you install it. If you want them back (idk why they're gone o.o), you can always reinstall SMAPI, no harm no foul

Oh, you have Karmylla's Immersive Maps installed. Per the SVE guide, that's not compatible with SVE https://github.com/FlashShifter/StardewValleyExpanded/wiki/Troubleshooting#incompatible-mods
Try removing Karmylla's Immersive Maps and load the game again

@random aurora @tight tusk from the Trace part of the log, it looks like it's very intentionally not loading the Stardew Foliage Redone version and instead loading the plain SVE version Using recolored map maps\flashShifter.stardewValleyExpandedCP\spring_map.png. (note the lack of StardewFoliageRedone in the name)
a r i, for yours, did you have to get rid of the SVE CP file o.o? (I know you and I were discussing NPC Map Locations a couple days ago but I can't remember 😅 )
the save should be fine, there wasn't a major game update since January. If you want to be super sure, you can always make a manual back up of your save, see link below ⬇️

Going through the log I uploaded it looks like SMAPI is loading Using recolored map maps\flashShifter.stardewValleyExpandedCP\spring_map.png
originally I deleted both the flashShifter.stardewValleyExpandedCP and the flashShifter.stardewValleyExpandedCP IMF2 because I thought that that was the issue (folder looked like this) but it didn't fix it, so I re extracted the folders for the whole mod
yea I noted earlier that I found that in the trace part of the log wooly, I'm not sure why it's not registering that you have Stardew Foliage Redone installed. Unfortunately I'm stumped I:

oh, that one can stay, it's friendly (honestly I've tried it as well as a last resort, but more replacing all the files in it rather than actually deleting the folder, and it still didn't help >_>)
let me see if I can find my attempts to fix this as well earlier in this chat, I was having issues with NPC Map Locations a couple days ago too
ok, in my case it was that the custom farm map mod I was using changed the world map as well. From your log, it looks like you're not using a custom farm map, is that right?

@restive zodiac hiya I don't know if you're still around, but a user (woolypiglets#3039) is having trouble using SVE, NPC Map Locations, and Stardew Foliage Redone. Specifically, the NPC Map Locations mod loads the SVE map, but not the Stardew Foliage Redone version of the SVE map (and the Trace log also confirms that). Can you help?

First I would try temporarily renaming the Foliage Redone folder from [CP] Stardew Foliage Redone - reshade to ..[CP] Stardew Foliage Redone - reshade to temporarily disable it. (If you want to disable it some other way that's fine too, rename is just simple to explain.)
Then download this version https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=24213&game_id=1303 which is the Stardew Foliage Redone original file in the FR downloads page (vs reshade) and install it.
If it picks up the recolor properly with that one installed but you like the reshade one better, I would ...
- remove that original one you just tested
- rename the reshade version to remove the
.. - in that version's folder, open the manifest.json in notepad and change the UniqueID from
stardewfoliageredonereshadetostardewfoliageredone - retest
(If original file doesn't work, don't bother with the second half and just post a new log :) )
I thought the "reshade" part of the name looked a little suspect o: I guess there's multiple versions of Foliage Redone out there o: (I knew there's also a "just foliage" version but that's it)
They're both on the download page, but the reshade one is more vibrant and meant to be used with their shader preset of choice

I just grabbed the top file off the page hahaha
I think changing the UniqueID would be enough to get it to work with the reshade version (I was confused a little looking at source because I thought it looked at directory name, but I think that was just for its own recolored map assets), but if you like that version well enough you don't even need to bother 😄

I think a lot of recolors do that, but they also recolor the map o:
For example, Eemie’s Map Recolor and Stardew Foliage Redone. However, Stardew Foliage Redone also has a version that is foliage only, if you don't want the map edits

Yea Flower Valley also requires Eemie’s Map Recolor, so the trees would look the same for both of those mods.

I agree! Btw when you say building, do you mean farm buildings, or town buildings o: ? I ask because Flower Valley has a way to disable the farm building changes via the config file (but not town buildings)

Oh ok, so you could use Flower Valley + a farm building mod, if you disable the farm buildings in the Flower Valley config. I use it with medieval buildings, as an example

Hello, I installed the SMAPI and Vortex from Nexus. I downloaded, installed and enabled the mods in Vortex but my games are not loading the mods
Checked the mods folder and there is only the two basic folders
Do I need to edit the "Staging Folder"?
not familiar with vortex unfortunately, i always install sdv mods manually

Yes, either by launching StardewModdingAPI.exe directly from the game folder (and thus bypassing Steam) or by setting the Steam launch options to point to SMAPI (only needed on Windows). it crashes almost every time I make the game full screen by dragging it to the top of my screen
does it crash if you make it fullscreen with the ingame option or by clicking the maximize button?
nope not then and also not if I press the fullscrene button (the one for the app)
in which case something about the "maximise window by dragging it to the top of the screen" function is messing up the game's graphics handling

- Add an exception to your antivirus for the Stardew Valley folder (search online for your antivirus name with the words add folder exception for instructions).

That's a strange error. Something to do with the game trying to draw something it expects to find (maybe some part of the map that just came into view?) but couldn't find it

I've got a random question for yall. Does anyone know if the 1.4 release or the SVE / immersive farm 2remastered mod makes the Bat Cave useful? Or have I gotten really lucky on my save haha?
(also first line help desk is an important role, collecting all the initial info, and haay can still solve the more common issues~)
I think because IF2R makes the bat cave bigger, you end up getting more fruit
(not to mention the new mineral and geode spawns)
hmm, maybe. I had a slow start, didn't get bat cave until almost summer. By the end of summer I had more fruit from that cave than I have in multiple years on a vanilla farm haha (or so it seems)

(And if it was formatted correctly and just replaced the wrong file or something it would just silently not work. )

That doesn't track mods that are incompatible with one another, just to clarify, only marks the compatibility status of every known SMAPI mod with the current game and SMAPI version.
What mouse said. For individual mod's compatibility, you'd have to check their mod description and comments to see o:
Mostly the mods that are flat out incompatible with one another are ones that do the exact same thing, like having multiple mods that completely replace the town are naturally not going to work together, or having two full portrait sets for Haley. (Sometimes authors may hide errors by making their replacers edits, but it doesn't actually make the mods compatible. I don't recommend this personally but others will.)
If you have any questions about a specific mod, you can always ask here and someone can try to help!

@fluid marsh ok since you don't have errors, it's definitely a mod. You can rename the mods folder back to Mods, and then test disabling 1 mod at a time, load, and see if the error happens. You can disable a mod by adding a period to the beginning of the name, like so .ConsoleCommands

I would. when doing troubleshooting like this you only want to be testing against 1 variable. In your case, the active mods you're using

It'll help to break it down step by step:
- did you download SMAPI from nexus?
- did you extract the installer folder somewhere like your Desktop or Downloads? It can't be in the game folder
- did you run the "install on windows" bat file?
- is there an error message when you run the bat file? If so, can you provide a screenshot?

Yeah, you shouldn't be extracting the installer to the game folder.
Like Lenne mentioned, you can put the installer folder on your Desktop, or just unzip directly into your Downloads, wherever it convenient that isn't the game folder.

The last screenshot doesn't have the ~~smapi-~~internal folder inside it. When you open a zip file, it should have an installer folder with all those files and another folder in it.

Just moving the entire installer folder out somewhere (still in the folder) to your desktop or somewhere should be fine to then run the install on windows bat file.

I think you need to move the internal folder that is in your main stardew folder back into the smapi installer folder.

Take the folder I named out of the zip and drag it to your desktop, with all of its files and folders still in it.

StardewModdingAPI is there, it looks like a pufferchick instead of a chicken. Double click that to play with mods, or adjust your Steam launch options to start from Steam. If you copied your whole game folder somewhere else, like the documents folder you showed earlier, SMAPI will only have installed to that location (in the screenshot above)

Hey @broken reef ! I use that same mod, Paritee's BFAV, and there are several unofficial updates to it. Yours isn't the same as the one I downloaded, and I think mine is the newest working version. If you go to the comments for the BFAV mod on Nexus (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3296?tab=posts) you should see a link to the latest version. The only thing I know to do would be to delete your version and go get that one. Good luck, hope it works!

I don't know what you mean by editing a lot of things, so "maybe". Changing the farm number will turn it back into a standard farm (which can then be replaced by any farm replacer). You'll still have debris and stuff in the wrong places, probably trees in the water, that kind of thing, so you'll also need to reset those. Since Community Farm is so big, you might also have had buildings placed in areas not even on the map anymore, so you might have to move those before changing over

Reset Terrain Features (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4715) is a mod that allows you to reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map via an in-game menu. This is especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will still use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits) until reset.

Hello, since I've updated SMAPI to its latest version, I have encountered issues loading any files on my game. Everything is just fine until I try and leave my house in the game, then the screan goes to a random place on the farm and the game crashes. Anyone can help solve this issue?

I think to start with, you should update all the mods that need updates, listed at the top of your log with convenient links. Be especially careful with SVE; you have to delete all the old SVE folders before getting the new ones. You can't just overwrite because the folder structure has changed a lot in the last few versions.
Once you update the mods that need updates, can you try again?

For the white cows, the main download there is an XNB mod, which is outdated and no longer recommended. The mod description includes a link to the Content Patcher (CP) version, I recommend using that. Note that it's a bundle of all that mod author's animal retextures, so you'll want to disable the ones you don't want in the config file (which is generated after you run the game with the mod installed once)
The brown cows mod you're trying to use is also an XNB mod, so you'll want the CP version that someone posted in the comments for that mod

the anime portraits mod was updated in June, but SVO in July
i updated it to most recent sov today yeah
so if you updated SVO after installing the anime portraits, the anime portraits would have been removed
you'll need to reinstall the anime portraits mod again to see them, since the files are gone, and just make a note that if you update SVO, you'll need to reinstall the anime portraits

From the mod description, it looks like if you install it the way they say to (let anime portraits overwrite the original SVO ones) it should work o:
my only worry would be that when SVO is updated, there's often a change in the filenames, so the ones provided by the anime portraits mod may not work when SVO updates

Looks like a Custom Furniture problem. Do you use any custom furniture mods? In particular, did you uninstall any recently without removing all pieces of furniture they add from the game?
SVE moves the Adventure Guild into the town but this bus is blocking it and idk how to remove it

Hmm. Well it could be one of those furniture packs that is bugged. Without more info, you might have to do trial and error to see which mod is responsible. Searching through the comments on their nexus pages might give clues, too.

Hm. Can you try deleting your startup preferences (in the same folder your saves are in https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files), then start the game again, avoiding moving or resizing the game window while it's loading?
Actually, I just figured it out! I had to disable rivaturner and delete the startup preferences file and now it's working

Yeah, anything that intercepts the game can have a problem, even in vanilla. And yeah I think so, the game really does not like game window resizing while it's loading stuff.
I think this might have actually fixed another issue I was having too, when I would load into my game it would be stuck at 30 fps until I resized the window. Very strange. Anyways, thank you for your help! Hopefully it's all good from here

I may be in need of some help D:
I have setup Stardew Valley Expanded and Immersive Farm 2 Remastered,
first Custom Greenhouse mod (which adds a 15x15 tileset with basement) wasn't working, but I fudged in and found out that I needed to place the tbin file in the override folder, which I have done
It is working, albeit when entering the greenhouse it puts me in the middle of the map
In the Custom Greenhouse config.json, there are two commands, WarpGreenhouseX and WarpGreenhouseY, I tried to port them to CPT config.json, however the SMAPI console says the command are not recognized by the pack and revert the file.
I'd appreciate any help
If anybody is around - my game crashed earlier this evening when I was attempting to go to bed, I rebooted it and thought nothing of it until I got stuck in the area above the playground on the cliffs. I figured this was probably a result of using the Save Anywhere mod which has done this for other users according to bug reports. I deleted the mod and opened the game again, and it restarted my day (although strangely enough all of my crops were watered). When I went into town, NPCs were cutting through areas they shouldn't have been able to walk (see: Pam in Jojamart) and some were stuck in the bushes by the playground (Abigail + Penny + Lewis). Hey everyone. I have an issue which aedenthorn has identified for me as Daisyniko's recolour logging several times per second while underwater with their swim mod. Is there a way to disable logging for daisy's mod, and is it simple enough that I can add in myself (I am not a modder haha)?

weirdest crossmod interaction: the harvest with sycthe mod i'm using does something that interacts with tractor mod to make the player do the hand-harvest animation when harvesting on the tractor. this a. makes harvesting only work with an inventory spot and b. gives superspeed when harvesting crops for some reason?
like not even doing anything special just driving towards the crop field with the scythe equipped and as soon as you get in range of the crops, zoom
to the point of making the screen jerky...it takes a tiny bit to stop after harvesting the crop so you can end up going really fast for like half a second on no crops

i've had this happen both on my laptop and mobile saves. i was wondering what mod was making my tractor go fast. btw, for mobile, even if you're not actively using the scythe, it super charges your horse speed randomly after you pick something up. on mobile you can still pick up forage even while you're on your horse.

i guess maybe because the tractor is, internally, built around horse data so it's effectively a special-cased horse??

@fair vessel Yeah, that's the scenario here... I didn't realize we were out of sync with our JA mods so some of the crops are showing up oddly. Even after we got into sync, it's still not quite right - at least on my end. Given that the data is stored in the host, and now that we're in sync, do you think her view will match mine the next time we play together? (That's an easy test, I'll probably try tonight.) If not...do you think the Reset Terrain mod would help, if I select only the crop option?
On the plus side, she harvested one of my 65g plants as a 2000g one so we ended up making a lot of extra money

what's saved into the host save file is item IDs to help unscramble them when new items are added/removed, but actual item data is done locally while the game is running which is how farmhands can see stuff you didn't have.
Reset Terrain features won't reset item data, if it has a Crops option it just means it can remove all your crops from the map
Items keep their data after creation. So if something was wonky and you got an item for example if its sell price ends up higher, and then you fix what was causing it, existing items will still keep their old data
@torn mason Thank you for the info! So correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I'm guessing is the full scenario: I received Honeysuckle, say it was ID #1 on my side. My friend received Honeysuckle, but it was ID #100. We both plant them, but because I don't have anything assigned for ID #100, it shows up as an error item. On her side, locally she had ID #1 as Ginseng, which is why my Honeysuckle showed up as Ginseng. Now, I've downloaded the extra packs so I do have an ID #100, but it's Prickly Pear, not Honeysuckle. No way to change that, because now that the crops are planted, they retain the original ID. Ok, no problem, totally understand that. Now...if my friend logs back in, do you think she would see Honeysuckle and Prickly Pear, or Ginseng and her version of Honeysuckle?
In terms of ID, that's one thing about Items that JA actively changes to fix any kind of ID changing scenario. But if you played at some point with mismatched Packs and then saved those IDs into the file, JA probably got confused trying to unscramble them
If your packs are now synced but there's still existing error items, you can remove them and future items spawned should be fine.

hello! I need help with my game and a mod that I recently downloaded. I downloaded a mod that turns Harvey into Izuku Midoriya from My hero academia and has new dialogues and heart events. Im already at 8 hearts with Harvey and given him a bouquet so for the day I just triggered the new heart events. but when I was going to sleep, it went black as it should but it crashed on me. also before that, in the morning I received a text on the bottom left saying a tool is ready but it isn't a normal text, more like program line of some sort not the actual text that should come out telling you when a tool is ready at Clint's. can anyone help me with this? here's my log for the error if it helps: https://smapi.io/log/e3c99abf3a914a0b8a691be0402cd099

oh ok, I actually tried to play the game without the mod and the too lmessage went back to normal and it saved just fine and transitions to the next day

hi guys. I was trying to play in multiplayer in a downloaded map, but for some reason the saves seems to somehow turn themselfes in single player games. I was looking at the "Shop Anywhere" mod, and should try it out. I was under the impression that the menu it draws out would be a problem on mobile. I'll check it out, though...
it's not quite the same thing, but another option for having access to all shops anytime is there's a debug command debug warpshop <npcname> which will warp both you and the shopkeeper to their shops so that you can buy stuff from them, even if they normally wouldn't be manning the store

It depends. There are some compatibility notes here https://github.com/FlashShifter/StardewValleyExpanded/wiki/Troubleshooting#incompatible-mods including a list of vanilla maps that SVE replaces. You can't use any other mod that completely replaces these same maps. Mods that edit these in smaller ways may or may not be compatible, depending on what they change/add and where on the map it is.
Make sure you read the mod page description. Some mod authors specifically make SVE compatibility patches in their mods too, so it just depends.
Well, I just tried out "Shop Anywhere" and the unofficial update to "Pelican Fiber" on Android... It's a mixed bag. Both work, but have visual glitches which make them troublesome...
Hi there, I'm trying to install the the CJB item spawner, I downloaded the latest version of SMAPI and it says I need to unzip it into the mods folder, but after going into Steam > steamapps > common > Stardew Valley there does not seem to be a mods folder there. Would appreciate any help, thanks
@remote sun did you make sure to build a cabin for your friend to let them join your game? Every farmhand who joins needs an empty cabin to live in first
You can add cabins when you set up a new game, or on an existing game you can go to robin to build one (it's very cheap)
@deft thistle Make sure you extract the SMAPI installer zip you downloaded, and then install it. It will create the mods folder and install two basic mods at that point. Alright so I've installed it, I opened the game and it says it's running two mods. Shouldn't pressing "I" open the CJB menu? If so, it doesn't for me
That means SMAPI is installed right, at least! For installing CJB Item Spawner, make sure you unzip that mod before putting it in the Mods folder, too. It should be in its own normal folder inside Mods. Check out https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Install_mods for an example folder layout!

You don't need to do anything with it outside the mods folder - just make sure you have the folder called CJB Item Spawner inside Mods.
(You can delete the downloaded files after if you want, as long as the mod stays in the Mods folder!)

Yea when you get a special item, there will be a reference to what you set as your favorite thing. If you want it spoiled ||when you get a star drop, there will be a message when you eat it saying 'it reminds you of your <<favorite thing>>'||

Weird, like half the mods didnt spawn config folders...
So I probably shouldn't install a mod that was last updated in 2017? Like would it still work? I'm assuming not.
If it's a SMAPI mod, you can check https://smapi.io/mods to check it's compatibility status, but yeah probably not. And if it's not a SMAPI mod, it's probably going to be one that asks you to overwrite game files, so you'd have to check https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Using_XNB_mods#Alternatives_using_Content_Patcher to see if there's a Content Patcher version. Even then, I'd be careful, because the majority of those old conversions were done before 1.4, so depending on how they converted it, it might still have issues with 1.4+.
If you just overwrote the game files, the game would most likely still technically run for the most part, but in addition to all the downsides of XNB modding in general, you'd specifically have erased any changes made to that file by the developers since 2017 😅

Well I think it probably wouldn't work because it changes dialogue during certain lunar events, and I think some page about SVE says that dialogue changing mods aren't compatible

Anything that changes the same dialogue could conflict, but the result is that you see one or the other, not both mod's changes
It won't result in any errors, and if the mods don't edit the same dialogue then they won't conflict at all
I don't think SVE makes many edits to the existing vanilla character stuff either, so I imagine depending on how the dialogue was added it could just not include the new NPCs or something. But yeah as Cherry said if two mods edit the same key the last one wins, shouldn't really break anything.
Like if Sak straight up replaced entire data files that would be a problem, but that's pretty unlikely 😄

I said I don't think it makes many edits to the existing vanilla stuff, like there are some changed events, I'm sure schedules are changed up a lot, but dialogue is easy to add more of without replacing old, so I don't think they were edited much.

The biggest "conflict" between most dialogue mods if they're loading their dialogue properly is that there could be inconsistent lore between mods
There used to be some dialogue/character mods recommended with it, like Immersive Shane, but I'm not sure of what the latest is on that. And yeah definitely, in order to fill in blanks on characters you have to make some assumptions/headcanons, and different authors will go with different things from as small as favorite color/flavor to as big as major backstory elements
There are some in-game hints that SVE makes more explicitly true and builds on, so mods that go a different route or remain ambiguous would be weird.

I just checked the mod page and it looks like it should be fine, but it's recommended that you turn off schedule changes in the config. That was a couple months ago, but I don't think there have been any major edits to either mod since then.

how easy is it to have multiple saves both with and without mods and switch between them? Like if I want to play vanilla right now, then later tonight some multiplayer with SVE, and then tomorrow non-SVE mods solo.

The description for climates of ferngill says most features are locked to the host in mp, does taht means that it has some things that will apply to all players using vanilla features or that even if all players have the mod installed it still only locks to the host?
basically if the other players have it installed will it have full functionality or will it still be as it says, with "most features locked out to main player"

I dunno how but... Stardew valley melted my heart. So, I got the birthday mod and multispouse mod (I CAN'T CHOOSE THEY'RE ALL SO AWESOME) and... it came to my birthday in game and... the birthday mod works with SVE oddly... this is adorable and so nice.

I have smapi and smapi installer, I keep downloading mods from Nexus, but apparently I am not unzipping them correctly, because when I start my game with smapi only 4 mods are coming up. Virtual keyboard,command console, etc. I have file manager+, but I am missing something. Any help?

Not WinRAR just extracting them once they are downloaded into my internal storage ,I have tried in internal storage under smapi, smapi installer, StardewValley , I made a mod folder tried that. Let me try to upload my log for y'all.
smapi should automatically make a mod folder when you run it, no need to make one yourself

yup, from the looks of it your smapi already has a mod folder. the 4 mods you've mentioned are the default mods that comes pre-installed with android smapi. you're probably not extracting them to the right place
