this has been going on since I changed my HD for a SSD, and some months later I realized I didn't have Java installed and that that might solve my problem with these mods. It did solve it for some time, but my game was really really laggy so I recently talked about that in #vanilla-tech-support and minerva told be to go on safe mode with my computer, which I think worked as a paleative for my problem of lagging, 'cause it was ok then.
but everytime I went some hours without playing and tried it again, it was still laggy, and I would just go in safe mode and back and it wouldn't lag anymore. So now I was going to play, I put my mods back on ('cause I had uninstalled them to see if it would solve the lag - it didn't) and I got the same error I've been having since february
It's just really anoying, I tried googling it to see if someone had the same problem and knew how to solve it but I found only 2 people with this and no one really helped them, so yeah idk what to do anymore

because I have been having this problem for months now, and one day I uninstalled all my mods and my SMAPI, and manually installed the latest version of everything (which at the time was SMAPI 3.4)

I spent hours doing this to have no problem solved
does using CJB cheats menu to unlock minecarts cause any problems? might need to try that to solve my earlier issue

Console commands is just one of the blacklisted mods it has by default. (Console Commands can be used to cheat for those who know how) You can make your own blacklist if you want.
Also it never affects the host player, they can have any mods installed that they want. It only polices farmhand mods.

I love how JA is just content patcher but with a focus on adding instead of replacing. The PPJA packs are weird to me because it's... just a selection of JA mods? I don't like most of them but I absolutely love some of them, just as with most mods because well.. they're just a random selection of mods.

But I have a huge greenhouse and its a pain to remember to harvest crops every day

I cheat but only to keep me fast, occassionally warp, move stuff between chests, occasionally stop time. I still take damage and lose energy and wont spawn items I need. I dont think I'd play the game at all if it was too easy.
Although I did end up with a brutal sword through a JA mod
same here, I once tried spawning all the items I needed and deleted that save file in just 1 season because it was so boring
No thrill! Closed I get to that is code NPCs to give one to me cos rng sucka. Ie if u marry my char Jasper before you find all the dwarvish scrolls he will give you the rarest one
But also u need to speak dwarviah for his 14 heart event (well not need to but it will make it more interesting)

ive cheated in items because they were needed but weren't spawning even after quite a long time
can't wait for jasper to get released!
also cheated in bigcraftables in an MP session after we loaded up the game to find all our JA bigcraftables had bugged out
two of them became statues, one became a tub of flowers, and the rest just had their sprites break and picking them up crashed the game

I had craftable legendary fish mounts but had a JA mod I made look like it because if hard coded ID's so had to remove

If the mod blocks based in uniqueID's in a blacklist it's likely they could. I don't have an answer for you just would be interested to know if you test it yourself

Yep - there's no way to completely ensure people aren't using mods you don't want them to use. That mod just makes it a bit more difficult, which works well for the vast majority of people who won't try to circumvent it.
Yeah. In order to make a foolproof anticheat you would probably have to have smapi implement some sort of verification hash system(??) that ID'd the contents of mod folders to ensure they matched the published version and uniqueID reported in the manifest file...
The mod could use whitelist not blacklist but even then people could just install cheat mod and change unique ID to allowed.mod
Or I guess you wouldn't have to have smapi do it, you could do it within your own mod. But then it would need to be installed by farmhands too, and you'd want to make it closed source if you didn't want people compiling cheatable versions of the anti-cheat mod to bypass the checks

Filehashes could be circumvented (not as easily as changing unique ID) so like you say, lots off work with very little payoff
Also everytime a cheat mod legitimately updates, it's hash would change so the anticheat mod would have to update too. Would be so hard to keep up with

You're honestly better doing it with Blacklist because if they don't know you have the Anti-Cheat, they could get identified by it and you would know faster.
If they were smart, they could simply rename the cheat manifest to a mod from the allowed list.
Maybe even use the host player's own mods' hash data rather than trying to stay updated on latest published mods.

@fair vessel my partner and my other devices all have the mods kept in OneDrive then use a directory junction to natively point SMAPI at it (not that necessary just handy) works well

I've never really seen SV as a "server" game more of a peer to peer didn't realise there were people that used it that way so heavily. You should open an issue in mod-ideas and maybe someone will pick it up

No no no, I mean it lists the mods the other user is using.
It sends the list to the host of all the mods they have turned on.

The client has to opt in to send that to the host, host can't pull that info without a client mod

but i use a shortcut to smapi from my desktop

I'm trying to help someone on Reddit, their Json Assets keeps imploding. Does anyone know why SMAPI might return null for Constants.CurrentSavePath?

THE first mod i see was...
In the first error, SMAPI is not finding the current save path, and so it's passing a null value to JsonAssets, so JA can't find its IDs folder or anything, and all custom items are failing

I think you've maybe got the mods loaded on twice becsuse they changed the folder name. If it tries to load twice it will hiccup and not load at all.

Not the others it's basically pulled down the house of cards. If you can post to whole log to smapi.io itll allow you to see conflicts far more easily.

sometimes I get confused about what DC server I'm on and I interpret mods mentioned in one game as being for a completely different game and it's always confusing and sometimes mind-boggling

I only used .zip before, and my computer can automatically extract those

@dire fractal typically by editing a config.json file that is in the mod folder for the mod in question
@kind musk 7-zip program can extract .7z files

I'm having a lot of issues with the stardew expanded mod- it worked the first time no problem, but i got off for an hour and came back on and just got a whole bunch of errors, nd anytime i opened up the game it'd just crash. Removed it and reinstalled it, and now it'll load into the game correctly without crashing, but it says the mod is invalid, and won't let me play using it

There should already be a config file generated in the folder if youโve launched the game with the mod at least once
There is one coming up but no options to turn off the recolor. only for the defaults

I think SVE changes only fences that are static/non player placed. So most likely Starblue is overwritting Hesper's ones
I am assuming it is the Starblue recolor folder within the SVE folder but not sure

Try replacing manifest.json inside [CP] Seasonal Fences with this one. If starblue was overwritting the fences this should fix it

the fences on the screenshot are the ones added by SVE so they won't be changed by Hesper's seasonal fences cx You'll have to find and change the fences somewhere inside SVE assets

So you have to copy/paste the fences ( remember to name them same as orygial ones ) inside SVE assets. I don't know if they will work properly so just in case backup orygialns somewhere

@grand moss your setup and prerequisites look good, but there's not much to go off in the log. What do you see when you go South down to the cindersap forest? There should be a new NPC house there and a exit in the southeast of the map to a new map area.

Once you've tried that, and removed whatever mods don't have alternatives or unofficial updates, try it again and see what your new log is. A good move is also to update all your mods that need updates, which are listed at the top of the log with convenient links

Lol it comes with the territory. Also note you may need to rely on checking the date downloaded / date updated, because sometimes mod authors don't update the version number in their mod's manifest.json, so you may see a mod listed as "needs an update" even though you're sure you already did it. In those cases, verify with the date downloaded / date updated
i fixed all the red text except custom farming automate bridge i can't find it

CFR is also no longer recommended due to its numerous bugs and an alternative being released. PFM is what we migrated to. It's unsure with PFM being out if CFR will be maintained again.
That's what I'd gathered, but I've heard of people running both CFR and PFM at the same time, which surprised me. I didn't think they would play well together
You can. Some older mods aren't updated to PFM but there was an effort to convert all known/released CFR mods to PFM.
It's just a matter of remembering which machines are CFR and which are PFM when playing ๐

They may be a file type you don't have an extractor for. I personally use 7zip because it can open basically any zip / compressed file type out there

That mod is in a folder [PFM] Jewelcraft. The only files you should be editing are the config.json which Notepad is able to open.

My issue is specific to the fact that the mod is supposed to change the map and tiles. I'm seeing a change in the colour, residents and added images but the town itself is the same, it doesn't look like the 'ghost town' as the original mod indicates it should

@grizzled oracle tte pfm mod is in a foldr, i think its a rar compressed folder though, computers including smartphomes dont come with rar-extractors but there are free programs like 7zip that cqn open the .rar to get the folders out

I am struggling between Strawberry Fields Farm (aesthetics, much wow) and Farm Extended (more functionality, not so wow aesthetics, but many of the cherry blossom trees) for my next farm I: Uber voted 2/3 for Strawberry Fields, but he's a robot with no logic well feelings.

a really good in between for both of those maps is Capitalist Dream Farm 2
its a bit big, but it has the fancy functionality of farm extended and it has the same classic daisyniko charm as strawberry fields

Guys I'm playing multiplayer with SVE with a few friends. A couple NPC's aren't showing, lie Sophie, Viktor and his mother. They seem to appear only to our host.
We are running other mods aswell, does anyone know this bug?

There is a known bug for all mods that add custom NPCs for multiplayer. Custom NPCs do not appear for farmhands at festivals or on the NPC Map Locations map.
But if they're gone from all locations, that's something else.

@dire fractal That one is best to use on a new save for a few reasons. One reason is it adds new heart events and content that you & friends will miss out on if you already have too many hearts with certain characters or have seen their 10-heart events.
The other main reason is that to use it on an existing save, you will need to use Reset Terrain Features to clear out bushes and things that will be in troublesome locations on the new maps it uses. This especially includes the IF2R farm map if you're using it.

@tribal cypress for a start, I'm seeing several mods that you have installed and the host does not. Immersive Farm 2 Remastered is probably the most troublesome. I don't know about the others. Mods that add aesthetic changes only are usually fine, but I'm not sure about things like catgifts and friends forever (they might not break things, but they probably won't work right unless the host has installed them too)

So more info, does the host see the SVE NPCs walking around their usual routines? And when farmhands go to that location the NPC is just invisible?
What about locations - can farmhands still go inside Victor & Olivia's house for example?
Everything is perfect for the host. We, farmhadns, can't see their icons on map and they are invisible during festivals. However we can see them walking their daily routine.
Oh well that's all normal then, like I said, it's a known bug for all custom NPCs added by any mod.
Another little-known fact is that farmhands don't get friendship points for talking to custom NPCs ๐ฆ Gifts still work, at least.

Its says at the nexus mod that you need to rmove those machine first before uninstalling the artisan valley mod

@keen apex Uninstalling any PFM mod improperly can break your save which is why you need to follow the uninstall instructions. Improper uninstallation will also scramble your IDs which sounds like what also happened. You can try reverting to a save backup. Sometimes you can get lucky and remove the machines without the game crashing but it's tricky.

They do different things. Fresh Meat was made when Animal Husbandry was "Butcher Mod" and focused on butchering but AH has since expanded.
So if you just want meat one or the other but if you want to expand upon that AH or both would be the way to go.

It's possible that the way Friends Forever intervenes to prevent decay isn't possible with the way BJS Time Skipper cycles through days

Right and you can also test removing everything BUT the harvest goddess mod, and seeing if the crash still happens (in case it's happening due to a mod conflict). In either case, it looks like it might be a bug with the harvest goddess mod.

If you're searching for portrait mods and you're not seeing any on nexus, you may have weird filters that are blocking the results. Unless you're looking for something specific
No Lenne, when I was adding all the mods it was my first time trying mods and I was doing ALOT of mods
And yeah now that I'm actually typing "portrait" into the search bar i'm actually seeing them
first of all,, remove the xnb mods,

I kept multiple back ups of all the files just in case, so I'm not worried about losing anything
Nero, you can just search within Stardew Valley on nexus, because people categorize mods differently. Like I've found farm maps under maps but also under locations

Okay looks like I also found a smapi CP replacement for another xnb thing, so I'll reset all the xnbs and try that, and try the other portrait things

Verified, gonna test real quick and see if the crash doesn't happen with and without the regular mods
In that anime mod Jas looks the same age as Penny (ie very young!)
I figured the xnbs could cause issues but since I for some reason couldn't find an alternative (in my very tired state) I just decided to brute force it and see what happens
@outer turret Yeah I wasn't a fan of all of the portraits, I think Caroline's was my favorite though
Also, casual plug for Seasonal Villager Outfits (SVO). It doesn't redo the portraits so much as give the villagers, well, different outfits based on the seasons, both for the sprite and the portrait. I'm a fan, hence the plug

They're saying to download the original mod, and place the CP files into the original mod's assets / portraits folder

I've spent entire days, countless hours, just setting everything up and testing everything that by the time I get to actually gaming, I'm over it lol
Lol, I just don't want to get like really far in a playthrough then suddenly something goes horribly wrong
Like with that save file I was testing the harvest goddess in, it was working perfectly fine until it basically reached the end
Luckily it seems like SMAPI makes it pretty easy not to lose an entire save over a mod screwing up
I mean, I've had it happen with Skyrim. That's just when you throw it away and start a new playthrough lol
I just had it happen with my latest collection of mods for SDV, though it was "meh this isn't fun" rather than "something is broken." so, new mods!
