The installer?
I put it in the stardew folder but not all the files seem to have appeared
the default smapi mods are loaded from the Mods folder and they work and the log doesn't show anything that isn't a mod being there

i DID have content patcher mods installed
but running smapi it said those mods were fine, but couldn't run without cp
so i removed them to add back in later and try to figure out the cp problem

I was running my game fine earlier today, command-q quit it to do something else, and now when I try to boot it up it just gets frozen in SMAPI and thinks about it for a long time and never does anything. The strange part is that it usually doesn't! I'm used to a bit of lag as it loads up, but even as of earlier today it was under twenty seconds of load time
does it say something like "Select SMAPI" at the top?

bc select mode freezes it (deliberately)
accidentally did that and clicked away to let it load and it didnt
It's the regular terminal window with the SMAPI code, and the icon shows as SMAPI
just press esc and it switches it back to "things can happen" mode
"Select" goes at the uh...name bar?
so up the top where is says SMAPI running Stardew Valley with x number of mods
if the word Select is there as well it's in Select mode and you need to press esc

That's weird, the error log doesn't seem to be the same as what's still in the terminal window. Do you have to close the terminal window to have it reset?

Nope, and when I search the file after closing the terminal it has no instances of fatal

No, it won't let me open it. It gets stalled out in the SMAPI opening screen until it eventually crashes, still just in terminal.
try launching the game, not SMAPI

is there a working better/easier fishing mod for SMAPI 3.5? I've tried everything offered in vanilla and spent quite some time trying to get better at it, but fishing is just way to hard for me to justify and I feel like I'm losing out on a lot of money

The nexus page for SVE has a section at the very top that you click on and it lists requirements
plus it pops up all the requirements when downloading below the download button
@delicate iron you could get the mod more rings. It has a ring that increases your bar size by 50%. There’s also 25% easier fishing mod which I’m too sure about. Also if you feel you are losing money missing out you could probably mine for similar if not better results.
Overall imo fishing is larger overrated even despite being decent cash early game. Spending your time getting resources for future tappers, kegs, sprinklers, etc. is better.

Hey, i just updated SVE to 1.10.7 after being pre 1.9 so i uninstalled/reinstalled but on getting a big error that seems to be caused by an error loading "spring_z_extras". anyone know a fix for this?
the notifcation comes from TMX loader and says that the mod failed in the Gameloop.Gamelaunched event
could it also be affected by me not having antisocial mod installed?
It's a missing tilesheet.
Antisocial mod wont affect it and is included with SVE anyway
I suspect SVE is loading the tilesheets into the game then reading them from the game and the problem might be arising because TMX loads first and therefore cant find the sheets. It's also possible something has been rearranged or miss coded or not installed correctly.

andy, olivia, sophia, susan, and victor have their own seasonal, but they changed their outfit during dance flower fest. i think, only marlon had a conflict.. with their portrait (?)
I already asked the creator on nexus, hope he/she can answer it soon.

at least we identified the problem, the fact that marlon's portraits were being targeted wrong, as the log says that the png is only 64 pixels wide

it was working prior to me uninstalling and reinstalling SVE to update it
well update your other mods, as well as uninstalling sve
once you do, see if the game runs normally
if it does, its a problem with sve, so try reinstalling it

the problem is that my save file will by wonky cause the map is changed through SVE but at least ill know if i can run my game

that sve error of missing tilesheet isn't necessarily from faulty installation, it just seems to happen sometimes for some people
or well, in this case the log doesn't even mention it being specifically from sve it seems

Can someone help me with a potential problem that I have with SVE?
I just installed SVE today and use my old save file but then found something odd, one of my child turned back into stage 3, the problem is that I named my child Morgan and then realize that one of SVE NPC have the same name. Is there anything I could do to change my child name? or any other way to fix the problem?

Probably not a good idea but if I wanted to change my greenhouse to bonnster’s prismatic one (currently using if2r) how would I go about doing that?
I assume everything in it would need to be taken out/destroyed to prevent issues.

Some mods let you edit key bindings, which are controller/keyboard/mouse buttons which do something in-game. This page explains how to configure them. (This works for any mod using SMAPI's standard APIs.)

Ok so I re added the mods in increments of 10 instead of 5. It appears to be Stardew Valley Expanded that it causing it, as it will launch with everything but that. So I’m thinking it’s either the mod itself or some sort of conflict, although I would think the log should tell me if it was a conflict

It’s possible, my laptop is a kind of a potato. But I have run about the same amount of mods in the past and had no problems with performance.
well, shouldn't be the problem then. if you have the patience you could do the adding one or few mods at the time to see where it breaks
starting from frameworks and other smapi mods could be the best bet i guess if it's not likely to be a performance problem

@dire fractal Looking through some bug reports for FRH, it seems it doesn't play nice with MTN. Which you are also using. If you can, try removing that to see if your farmhouse comes back.

@fresh inlet For the Better Farm Animal Variety, do you get any produce from the horses?
It’s mainly just a core mod so that people can add other species into the game without replacing the default ones, like having a dodo being able to be bought from marnie but also being able to buy every other animal. Doesn’t add anything to do with getting produce from horses from what I know

Rings are weird in that they're in the same file as Objects, and can be created as an Object without throwing any errors, but a ring created as an Object...is an Object. The mod has to explicitly create it as a Ring for it to function as a ring

it's a good first omd, but it might be a little intense if you just want a taste of mods
I personally really dislike sve, imo if I was just starting out with mods it would probably make me back away from them, but if you think it’s right for you then sure I suppose, it’s got alot of content
i enjoyed it for a while, but i stopped being a fan because it kinda completely takes over the content with a single mod. I like to be able to personalize my game more if I'm gonna be modding
i think it's a good mod to start with. i don't think the incompatibilities with other mods matter for most people

Your computer probably just can’t handle the big mod. Surprisingly older computers just can’t run many mods for stardew. So reduce your mods list, if nothing else works then there isn’t too much you can do besides upgrading your pc

I was only able to run 99 non complex mods with my old gpu, upgraded to a 1060 and I’m fine now. But with my old 12 year old Mac it was literal torture trying to even load more then 2 mods

For updating mods, can i just drag the new version in and press "replace"
I have a 16 gb RAM, but only an ok graphics card, and I can run upwards of 200 mods with no major lag, only long loading times and slight occasional stutters when running other apps
Yeah, when I try to open other apps while ingame it’s pretty bad stuttering for a moment, but after a few seconds it’s fine

@blissful roost Once you’ve added the mod to your mods file after extracting them, run the smapi installer (best to make a shortcut on your desktop or pin it to your bar, because this is how you’ll launch your game from now on unless you want to go into setting the launch options via steam) and just wait for the text to mod in the smapi console, the game should start and at the top it should say something like “__ mods installed” depending on how many mods you have, if it says you have some then it worked. Some mods require core mods to work, or content patcher, which you would install as well and add to your mods folder alongside it. You don’t combine mods within other mod files ever unless it specifically says so in the install instructions

Valley Taters, the flooring reverts thing can be solved by simply exit the farmhouse and reenters
maybe you can get back the cellar entrance simply by doing the same

My farmhouse applied map patches through CP for seasons, there might be some assets loading needs to be refreshed. But there is a way to swap tilesheets based on seasons instead, maybe it can better solve this problem, but I'll have to completely reconstruct the assets loading logic.

Enable path connectors contains only a config file that needs to go into your Automate mod folder
CJB Cheats Menu SVE Warps contains a data file that goes into Cheats Menu's Data subfolder
Part of the Community has a typo in the config, bwdyworks needs to be removed as it's not compatible with 1.4
Better Beach Forage appears to have been installed wrong and possibly has a malformed download - delete, reinstall, and this time take it out of the numbers folder
(farm type manager has a lot of warnings about better beach forage)
I have some questions on modding stardew
SVE is a very large mod with some very large maps (that have monsters on them trying to do pathfinding) but this can be mitigated somewhat by turning down the monster limit in farm type manager

download SMAPI from the SMAPI website, run its installer, then download CJB Cheats Menu from Nexus, unzip it, and take the CJB Cheats Menu folder and put it in your mods folder
then when you run SMAPI's exe (it has an icon of a pufferfish chicken thing/pufferchick) it will launch Stardew Valley with all the mods you have installed!

some people have had luck with naver, but it's super hard to get into naver if you're not korean + they do a lot of xnb modding, which is a depreciated style of modding that is super prone to bugs and crashes and has no update checks and very very little cross-mod compatibilty

You can translate the site, but doesn’t mean you will be able to necessarily download it depending on a few things
you're highly unlikely to even be able to go looking for good mods there if you're not korean, not just because of language barriers but also because you need an account to download anything and accounts are nearly region-locked (i think minerva has an account? somehow? it involved telling naver her phone number iirc?)

Naver gets a lot of spam accounts as well which is partial why it’s region locked. You can get your account unsuspended but you have to reach out to staff and basically prove you’re a real person.

the miss coriel music packs and a few others
13 in total
now to play the game of "which one is it" although I have an idea of which one
coriel has a specific supplement pack for expanded
@dawn mantle I've found that with music packs especially, they tend to interfere with the game by taking up MASSIVE amounts of resources and space. I was having a lot of trouble with my game a while back. Once I trimmed out the largest few mods (surprise, it was music packs) everything was fine again.

yeah, it's true that custom music packs take a lot of ram at least because the music is loaded into memory at the start of the game always it seems
@spring echo if you are using mods get the unlimited players mod along with whatever else it needs. Otherwise I highly recommend you don’t mess with the game’s files

also I have the More New Fish mod and on the lava floors in the regular mine, no fish are spawning. I'm just pulling trash and stuff every time
ui info suite can show what fish you can catch, the chances and what fish you have hooked before you catch it

it needs to be enabled in the config that you can access from the game menu that pops up when you pause, there is an icon with a hammer or something like that in it
i guess you could use that to see if anything is spawning in the lava levels or if the spawn rates are too low for some reason

Hi I just joined the server because I need help with mobile mods. I tried to follow the wiki guide but I just get a bunch of .dll doesn't exist errors and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Is there another, more easy to understand mobile modding guide? If not could someone give me a simple step by step. I have stardew and smapi installed.
Could someone help me with this? I'm playing with a decent number of mods, including SVE. One of the mods I'm trying to get to work is Wren's Expanded Greenhouse, and although I'm not getting any red error logs, I keep seeing this message:

As said. The mod doesn't provide a gamebreaking error, and I can enter the greenhouse and it is expanded, except not with the setting it chose and it tells me above message
