i was thinking maybe it was open hearts? since you get many cutscenes due to friendship increase and maybe some happen at night

I found the red pixels, they are on Vanilla Interior's furniture tilesheet around the windows
the vanilla sheet has very light shadows in those spots
Why would vanilla tilesheet do that 
very late reply, you can fix those by downloading VPR and replacing the Furniture.png inside Vanilla Interiors with the one from VPR

these ~1% opacity shadows are sprinkled around so many of the older tilesheets

No log comes up like I had mods and took them off so I could play with a friend and it just straight up wouldn’t load

For reference if I wanted to switch between vanilla and modded how would I do that? My friend said to make a mods folder and take it out of the Stardew folder whenever I wanna play vanilla but when I do that the game just ends up crashing?
To be honest, I'm even surprised that the game stopped working on steam once the launch options were removed.
SMAPI shouldn't modify any game file when it installs itself, so you can always launch the vanilla game by simply using the vanilla .exe even with SMAPI installed.
Maybe @strong jacinth deleted one too many file when manually deleting SMAPI, I don't really know. What matters is that it seems to be working now

if you run the game directly via the stardew.exe it should launch without mods

Switching from vanilla to modded alludes me I swear
if you want to play modded and unmodded, download smapi and all your mods as you did before; play the game as usual; when you want to play without mods just open the game files (which you can acces through steam) make a short cut of the stardew valley. exe (easy access) and launch that
To simplify it :
Once SMAPI in installed, if there is the big command line in the launch options on Steam, the game will be launched through steam modded.
Without this line, the game will be launched through steam without any mod applied (including SMAPI).
So to switch from one another, you can simply add or remove the command from the 'Launch Options'
I agree, but I don't know if the shortcut version will have steam integration (I've never tested it)

No, you'll need to use DCBurger's for vanilla (although none of them have been updated for 1.6 yet)
That's from Vibrant Pastoral Recolor. To fix it you can download Redraw Pelican Town, a mod specifically made to fix any VPR glitches: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/14928
You don't need to wait for it to update to 1.6. Just use Portraiture.

- UPDATE SMAPI and ALL THESE OTHER MODS
- Remove catGifts, Stack to nearby chests & regular catcrows and Themed Catcrows (unless you'd like to convert the catcrows to content patcher using XNB2CP https://xnb.pillow.rocks/)
- Download the unofficial update for reset terrain https://github.com/Lake1059/ResetTerrainFeatures_NET6/
- Overgrown Flowery Compatibility isn't a mod you use it to overwrite the orignal mods it's from
- I'd re-validate your steam files

1.6 added new tiles which will take some time for recolor mods to catch up on. recolors will mostly work but there will be some vanilla-looking tiles. please be patient as you wait for mod authors to update their mods

Are some of the console commands (that come with SMAPI) broken?
bigitem seems to not work at all, doesitemexist seems to only check for objects even if you include an isCraftable-argument, and running log_context a second time in order to turn it off does not turn it off? 
i don't use stardrop so i'm not sure if it changes anything but if they are not in your mods folder, there shouldn't be any way for smapi to detect them. unless stardrop creates its own folder? since it's showing that you have other files for the mods but not the manifests, are you sure you deleted everything from those mods? sorry i don't have anything more helpful on this one

i think world_freezetime does pause time so that would be what you're looking for
For Munchington gold and white, they aren't mods. You pick one (either white or gold) and swap out his portraits inside the East Scarp Critters folder. The mod description explains.

So in Stardrop, there's "View" and in there is "Settings" and that menu has the file paths for the Mods folder and the Stardrop mods folder. You could check both those locations to see if the files are in either of them. SMAPI itself also tells you what folder it's checking near the top of your smapi log.

Have you created the content.json file in the PSR folder? Not having that file will give this error.
looks like you also downloaded Custom Spouse Room Locations - LFF but you don't use Lnh's Farmhouse

It seems that the correct character code to use is "MarlonFay" instead of just "Marlon", since it is the character code used by SVE.
you can either change the code yourself or wait for an update
as it says, Error Handler is obsolete and you can delete it
the game handles errors now

@true dock Hello! Love of Cooking alpha isn't working for me - I can't get the cookbook even though several in-game weeks have passed. Cooking skill shows up, cookbook and frying pan icons are present (though greyed out) on the collectables screen, and can't cook at the kitchen because "You don't have a cookbook."

I think you can just check your in game and steam achievements to see if they match
although that only works if you didn't previously have those achievements in steam

uhm.... I've encountered a problem...
I installed the new smapi, and attempted to open the game. I got a wave of red text on my smapi, that ended with [SMAPI] Game has ended. Press any key to exit.
I thought it might be a glitch, so I restarted my laptop, and attempted to restart the game... and ended with the same wave of red text in my smapi... I'm sort of at a loss as to what all this stuff means, and what I do to fix it...

Vortex isn't recommended for Stardew Valley.
It's hard to troubleshoot and often causes issues like SMAPI/mods not being installed or updated correctly, files mysteriously disappearing, crashes, etc. Volunteers here often can't help with Vortex issues.
Some options:
- Install mods directly (which is easy and safe in Stardew Valley!).
- Or use Stardrop, a mod manager specifically designed for Stardew Valley.
- Or get help with Vortex in the Nexus Discord or Vortex support forums.
Anyone knows if there is a way or a mod that will let you export your settings for GMCM? I've seen it in some other games to save you from having to redo every single setting each time you start a new game/are testing a modlist?
GMCM edits other mods' configs directly, it doesn't output them anywhere else

If you use Stardrop it keeps the configuration files for mods saved, but if the config file changes in an update or stuff is added it resets. Pretty sure that applies to mod profiles too, but Semisu is right about it not being a support question

Make sure you always double check mod requirements when updating; most mods drastically changed their requirements after 1.6

You have to place it in the actual game folder. It's not a recolor, but a reshade.
Reshades are more taxing and apply a filter over the game and require you to run an installer in the game folder itself, not the mods folder.

Yep. Pull it out of the folder after running the Reshade installer, which is an offsite requirement.

anything to do with object not detecting an instant or whatver is a nullexeptionerror, as in its trying to grab the value of smth but that value is set to null/undefined, the code has either not set the value or its obstructed and the rule parse is because of syntax, so the code has typos maybe, the other errors "can't apply data" are because of the nullexeptionerror, cant apply any lines related to a value not set, best bet is to find those lines in the mod and modify them or remove them

yeah but its because its not updated, either that or custom room locations has modified the code and the values...which wouldnt really be likely since theyre compatibile but you can remove custom room locals and check the new logs to see

it's a cutscene issue. I'm having issues trying to trigger cutscenes that lets me make the first portal in the hub in SVE
the wizard came to visit me to talk about portals and told me to go to his tower
but no cutscene played and I'm able to access the hub anyways.
can't trigger the wizard to make the portal to his home
are all the co op players using the same mods?

the older save file works with the hub and I have access to that.
any of the wizard mods, remove them and test,then add them back one by one, just cause a mod works once doesnt mean its fullproof

start a new local co op after updating to test and see if it crashes
it doesnt look like its related to a mod, if it is its probably any mod that adds new locations

could be smth related to it tho, not sure of an easy solution other than removing any food related mods and testing to see if it happens then adding the mods one by one and testing to isolate whats causing the crash, or since its a vanilla item, verifying your game files, you could also spacecore and see if it needs updating or just remove it and all mod dependencies and test if it works - if its that then space core is causing the issue
try verifying the game files first, test, then move to trying the other shit

no worries, cool that the solution was found
amusingly enough, it was my kid noticing the error log on their console mentioning Notifier, so I took it out on their install and never even thought to check mine until I inadvertently triggered it myself
