It sounds like they might have just clicked too fast. What they're talking about is the letter you receive for getting your first cooking recipe, which, again, very benign, and should show up properly in the inventory. *MAIL COLLECTION

well it's a mail framework mod issue, so I would assume it's one of the mail framework mod content packs that's causing it to look up weapons.xnb
You can delete Error Handler from your Mods folder

MFM seems to have similar bugs on its page, so you can report it and see what the author says. But it may not be updated, since CP can send mail in 1.6

Yeah. I have but I'm guessing it I'd going to be inside one of the Content files. As searching "Weapons" isn't finding anything.
If you have VSCode, it's possible to search all files within a folder/subfolders by its content. You can even do case sensitive searches and regular expressions.

i not sure if this makes sense but if i have two laptops that i play the same save file on and i download a few mods that add new content (like new rooms and items. SVE in this case.). on only one laptop but not the other, how exactly would that affect the game if i then play on the laptop that doesn’t have those specific mods downloaded?
would things just look out of place and funky?
im not very tech savvy and don’t want to risk breaking my save.
if you don't even install SMAPI on one of them, that save will not work
at the very least you'd need SMAPI (and specifically the Error Handler mod it comes with)
if you do THAT though, you'll keep losing any mod-specific progress each time you play with that save on the non-modded machine

As to why.... I think that mod is old, and if it's not, it was... not well coded as the conditions aren't valid
So unless you're willing to recode a lot of it or there's an unofficial you can't use it

This is a "replacement" map mod - meaning that it replaces the Hilltop Farm when you select it from the character creation menu.
If you want to change your map mid-save, you'd need to do other things.

weird question but can mods cause like your system to lag? Like I only have upwards of around 70 mods installed but when I want to do anything thats not stardew it lags? are my mods causing this?
if you have enough mods where it's putting a significant strain on your CPU other parts of your system can take longer to function
So if I'm running Stardew with all my mods and my CPU is staying at 100% then uhm I'm gonna assume yes

when you mod for Fallout New Vegas you learn to troubleshoot, but im inexpert with Stardew Valley coding structure

these won't break your game, but are errors
somehow your Sandy dialogue from Canon-Friendly got yeeted, as did RomRas's witch beach portrait and some of the anime portraits
i did delete the Sandy dialogue and the portraits as a quick solution, ig the code is requesting those images and it breaks, right?

You're definitely smart enough to not need my explanation on things, but I will tell you Stardew is best done manually or with Stardrop.
MO2 isn't nearly as bad as Vortex, but it still has issues playing nicely with the assets in folders.
it does put config.jsons in the overwrite folder and MO2 puts them in the virtualization last minute
i just use it because its one of the most comfortable Mod Organizers tbh

Basically, it means whatever portrait mod you downloaded doesn't have a manifest.json file. It's a file that's necessary for the code of every mod.
Have you checked the folder to see if the manifest is there at all?
It could be using a different extension.

Okay, press the Windows Key + R, then type in %appdata%
As the gif shows, go to your Stardew folder, then drag the notepad file into the website.
Then when you have the log saved, highlight the small url link text in the green box and copy paste it here.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

it was a cottage one and a color shade one i think a texture one too but i dont think that was part of the Dcburger
Put the cottage and texture ones back; the colourshade one has a different installation procedure than basically any other Stardew mod and you should follow the instructions on its Nexus page if you want to install it
Also, install Portraiture
(the cottage and texture ones were presumably irrelevant to the error but you probably want them since you installed them in the first place)

Hello, I am writing to you again to tell you that I have already fixed the texture bucket problem, now the bad thing is that my game gets stuck and the npc doesn't move and I can't do any action and the clock keeps flashing, why is this? ?

Hiya! Android modding is in a difficult state right now since some mods work, most mods don't, and when they don't work, we don't have good means of troubleshooting, since the majority of the issues stems from Android SMAPI, which we can't solve.

I already removed all the mods that had an error, but my game still keeps crashing and won't let me do anything, and before I didn't have that problem

Yeah, that's the thing with mods. They might work at first, but later, something triggers something which causes a cascading of things breaking.
The Reshade requires additional steps & another app all together to work. I don't know the particulars because I can't use them.
Follow the instructions on the Reshade page exactly.
hi everyone, so i've been having this problem since i downloaded smapi and some more mods, the game just take ages to load and sometime it took more than half an hour. even after i deactivated the smapi from steam it's still not responding, does anyone have any advice? i would really appreciate it, thank you

Also note that if you highlight text in the SMAPI console it will halt the game until the text is no longer selected
also i'd recommend installing either FastLoads or SpriteMaster
Also note that having lots of expansion mods will make the game load slower

since if you remove that, and are still launching Stardew via Steam, you're launching a completely vanilla unmodded game and it should not affect it at all assuming you aren't trying to load a save with any non-cosmetic mods
if you are trying to load a save with any non-cosmetic mods in vanilla: don't do that it won't work

Hey so I was playing co-op with a friend and for some reason our farm and the day/season reset? Everything else is the same, well for me since I was the host but not for him since when the farm reset he didn’t have a house. You typed the launch options wrong, e.g. not including the quotation marks
Or possibly your Steam library is on your D drive or something. the SMAPI installer tells you exactly what to put in your launch options when it's done running - run it again if you need to check

Look, I'm gonna recommend that you take a step back from Discord and just try following the steps for yourself without asking people to confirm every step you're taking. If you're unable to set up SMAPI without needing your hand held the entire way, it's unlikely you're going to be able to mod by yourself either
If you make a mistake with installing SMAPI, the worst that happens is that SMAPI won't work, in which case you just reinstall Stardew and start again
Try it for yourself and learn the skills you need before going any further

No, Lance has a unique schedule and doesn't show up until you reach a certain threshold. That said, someone lost Lance and Sandy to a mod manager earlier.

I was about to say monogame but the first error is Charlie the Chicken is missing. It looks like some files were damaged and Smapi isn't installed properly.

Grandpa's farm requires SVE to load in, to my knowledge.
It's better to use Adopt n' Skin for now. But that shouldn't have caused the error with extra map layers. (Unless it added new map layers to spawn the animals in? That's just speculation though, not on my laptop)
i played smapi before and it worked fine i wanted to play vanilla with a friend on coop and changed the starting path but it doesn't load smapi and ik if i have the wrong path or i did smth

great news, i was worried it was going under the radar with the upcoming changes
i dont see any stf errors but you have quite the old smapi version. definitely consider updating it to 3.18.6
(Keep in mind Shop Tile Framework is end-of-life. It'll be kept compatible in 1.6, but it won't be getting any improvements to use the new 1.6 features. Mods which use it should migrate to editing the new built-in shop data directly instead.)

Shop Tile Framework should work fine in SMAPI 3.18.6 so far as I know? It only breaks in Stardew Valley 1.6 + SMAPI 4.0.0.

It'll mostly keep doing things the old way, but a bit cleaner. The goal is just to have content packs still work on release day until they can be updated; it'll probably log a warning that it's now deprecated.

Can I see the inside of your mod folder? It looks like you once had SVE before some catastrophic error. When you sent it earlier, NONE of SVE was loaded in nor did it indicate you had anything downloaded period aside from Charlie-

no, it paused on a line of code and stopped writing, leaving the game on the blackscreen seen just before loading in
stf is just the last mod that logged anything at a debug or higher level
i guess i can just yell at people to update their mods from STF/PFM to 1.6 solutions if i ever do anything with the new data models, and/or tell the users to do that or drop these mods
i left it for a solid 20ish minutes, usually it doesn't take more than 2
unfortunately, bit hard to tell who is taking forever
if you interrupt it while it's loading (e.g. not responding) then it will hang and never recover
tbh replace custom spouse patios with custom spouse patios redux, and if that doesn't work, randomly remove mods until it doesn't do that
(buff framework is the last mod that logged a line, but also, it could be literally anyone.)
I want to replicate that on 1.6 but there's not enough resource-intensive mods yet
tbh you can always just say "will not support integration with X, Y, or Z anymore."

everytime i use spritemaster the game gets a bit laggy so i dont use it
Or Fastloads, because you're using visible fish and dynamic reflections on top of SVE
Fast loads might work if Spritemaster doesn't, but it's completely optional and don't bother wasting time on either if they don't work for you. We always get an odd one out.

I'm using SVE and RSV and my game is with a lot of lag and freezing.
I had 152 mods and removed almost all of them, but the problem persists.
There is no error in my SMAPI log and my mods are all in their last versions.
I put my SDV in the antivirus exclusion, adjusted the monitor, optimizated my PC and the drivers and made everything I saw in the Internet, but the lag and freezes are still there.
Just don't know what to do anymore.

I've heard they break the game, so I didn't installed any of them.
Some friends installed them and their games won't open anymore.
So, I got affraid
If they installed both of them, then yeah, I can see how the game would not be happy. Choose one or the other and you should be good! 🙂
Do both fix the lag?
The lag is what is bothering me more...
The game, lags, lags, lags and then ir freezes.
It's annoying!
They both do the same thing, which is to optimize mod load in. Any lag in-game could be the result of a number of things.

There's no error in my SMAPI log.
I parsed my log today.
There are a few mods that SMAPI says that need to be updated (Json Assets and Space Core), but the new versions in Nexus are the alphas for the 1.6 version of SDV, so I didn't make the update.
Did you see the part of the governor's message that says "Even if your game doesn't show any errors, logs are useful, and often necessary, for troubleshooting"?

Hi! I was in here a couple nights ago asking for help trying to figure out why my Great Friends section on my perfection tracker was stuck at 99% even though I was at full hearts and thought I’d seen every event I needed to (but am less sure about that part because I added a few NPC mods that added a lot of events - I have Event Lookup, but it can be hard to tell what some of the events are).
Agent Lyoko suggested patch export Data/NPCDispositions to run through the list of people to see if any NPC names jumped out at me, which I did and every name looked familiar so I’m certain I’ve friended everyone, so now I’m back to wondering if I’ve missed events from the mods I’ve added. Is there a way to specifically look up events I’ve missed that I need to see for Great Friends on the perfection tracker?

Great Friends doesn't require watching every cutscene
I mentioned that in my post - I have it and have been using it, but it can be hard to tell what some of the events are unless I start digging into the NPC’s associated mods 😕

As for who is missing, no clue, I would just use Perfection Tweaker to adjust the requirement down tbh
I thought it required all the heart events, at least, but I wasn’t sure what else was needed there
To answer your original question, though, there is no easy way to get a list of events you haven't seen.
And tbh, the Perfection Tracker has been known to glitch out occasionally, so you could be one of the unlucky few that is subjected to that.

Hey, I'm having a problem with Medieval SV Expanded/Way Back Pelican Town (I guess). The trash cans and Blacksmith are crashing, and the Bus Stop texture is no longer working (before it worked). Could someone help me?

I've been trying to get SMAPI up and working for a few days but keep running into problems
I downloaded the wrong version without realizing, so i just uninstalled everything and reinstalled it with the right version but now SMAPI crashes on startup. I've read through the troubleshooting guide and haven't found anything thats worked too

i must have had an issue with a mod then and thought it was the wrong version of SMAPI
cause one of the mods said it was having issues with SMAPI

1.6 hasn't been released yet, unless you mean the 1.6 modding alpha? In which case, yes, that very well could be your issue.

Yeah, I was talking about alpha. I tried to update those mods, but it's making things worse. Can I do anything about it, or should I wait for 1.6?
!playvanilla if you mean be able to do both modded and unmodded
Do you want to play the vanilla game after having installed SMAPI? Keep in mind that you cannot play vanilla on a previously modded save. Please use separate saves for playing vanilla vs modded Stardew! That said, there are a few ways this can be achieved:

If playing the game through Steam or GOG on a Windows device, clear your launch options, then select play from your game client. See the !launchoptions command for more info.

Go into your game folder and launch StardewValley.exe. See the !findmodsfolder command for more info.

Change the name of your Mods folder to anything other than Mods. Then launch the game as you normally would, this will make SMAPI launch but without any mods being loaded by it.

Set up SMAPI as a custom game in Steam. See the !modgroups command for more info.
if you just want to stop using mods, uninstall SMAPI
(and reset your game files if you changed any XNBs)
