Interesting. Your log indicates SMAPI still isn't finding your audio hardware

bitter pebble
#

oh...

scarlet quail
#

Until the audio hardware is found by SMAPI - meaning whatever fix you managed probably didn't make the audio hardware go to the whole computer or something - it's not fixable, unfortunately

#

it's definitely a computer-side issue

daring ermine
#

@modern python sorry for ping but when it freezes can i wait it out and it will fix?

modern python
#

i guess we can double check whats actually happening, its most likely a ram thing but it could be an error of some sort

can you play until it freezes then do…

No clue, sounds benign, but does it show up like that in your inventory?

scarlet quail

(Honestly I don't know what they're talking about Chirps)

#

Robin doesn't really send many, if any, letters about a house upgrade and I don't understand the second sentence SweatSmileIan

It sounds like they might have just clicked too fast. What they're talking about is the letter you receive for getting your first cooking recipe, which, again, very benign, and should show up properly in the inventory. *MAIL COLLECTION

#

@mossy cape You need the entire Content Patcher folder. This is what it should look like inside. and it should go in your Mods folder

#

This is what any mod other than SMAPI looks like

mossy cape
#

okay so i put the dll in the content patcher folder, but i also need a manifest

worn marsh
#

Nope. you downloaded the content patcher folder. you need the whole folder you downloaded

#

Did you download it from Nexus?

mossy cape
#

i did

worn marsh
#

So in the zip file it gave you, there should be a folder with all of the files inside of it

#

you should not be making any new folders, moving anything around, creating any files, or any of that

#

also 2. Make sure you got the alpha 1.6 version of Content Patcher

mossy cape
#

oh i'm not sure i did get the alpha 1.6 version

#

is that a different link

worn marsh
#

You didnt, that one is too old

mossy cape
#

gotcha

worn marsh
#

Its the same link, but under optional files

#

like, on the same tab of the mod page

mossy cape
#

in my mods folder

worn marsh
#

looks good!

mossy cape
#

baller

worn marsh
#

Now I'll show you how to check

#

You can start your game, let it boot to title screen, then read the console/log window to see if all the mods loaded (it'll tell you which ones it detects)

#

!log also has instructions

mossy cape
#

i have not installed the alpha version yet but i assume now that i have an updated content patcher that updating is also a requirement

#

one second i will knock that out

worn marsh
#

#

and, smapi 4.0 (smapi for stardew 1.6) too

you're good, it updates itself (if you installed it properly)

#

you can try launching the game now

mossy cape

perfect

robust patrol
#

So any ideas?

mossy cape
#

it said error handler 3.18.6 which i assume is a smapi issue

worn marsh
#

BlueDragon, I'm assuming you've verified your game files already? checked out if any of the MFM content packs deal with weapons?

#

honestly if it's not crashing your game, I might not even worry about it

worn marsh
mossy cape
worn marsh
# robust patrol MFM packs?

well it's a mail framework mod issue, so I would assume it's one of the mail framework mod content packs that's causing it to look up weapons.xnb

worn marsh
# mossy cape

You can delete Error Handler from your Mods folder

robust patrol
#

Oooh I see what you mean

mossy cape
#

i don't want error handler?

worthy moth
#

It's built in now

#

It used to be a separate mod

worn marsh
#

It's integrated into stardew valley 1.6 like the message says

mossy cape
#

gotcha

#

alright here's where we're at now

#

feels like progress

#

thank you so much for your help

worn marsh
#

That's great, that means you can work on your mod now

mossy cape
#

so the fact it could not load 'example' is okay

worn marsh
#

Yeah, it's just saying you don't have anything in your mod to look at, which is true

mossy cape
#

gotcha

#

should i build off my example mod folder then

#

i figure that wouldn't present any issues

worn marsh
#

Yeah, you can just edit it to make it a real mod

mossy cape
#

lets goooo

robust patrol
worn marsh
#

Don't edit what's inside your game files

robust patrol
#

Not even capitalisation?

worn marsh
#

No

#

you may break things

robust patrol
#

Ah. Ok

worn marsh
#

if you think its wrong, you can delete the file and then use steam to reverify your game files

#

it'll detect the missing file and restore it

#

So whatever is restored will be the correct one

#

!verify

#

hm

robust patrol
#

Yeah.

mossy cape
robust patrol
#

I'm pretty sure it IS the original file anyway

#

But I can do that just to make sure

worn marsh
#

I'm also kinda thinking it's the original file and that this is a mod issue instead

robust patrol
#

If it is the original file, will capitalisation do anything?

worn marsh
#

but I wouldnt know which mod unless someone checks out all of the MFM content pack pages

#

no idea

lament vortex
native dragonBOT
lament vortex
#

some commands are not quite as obvious 😆

robust patrol
#

And it is only for one file

robust patrol
#

So changing it will mess everything up

#

So definitely a mod issue of some kind

worn marsh
#

MFM seems to have similar bugs on its page, so you can report it and see what the author says. But it may not be updated, since CP can send mail in 1.6

robust patrol
#

And one of the creators (Clown)

Doesn't mod for the Steamdeck specifically.

#

Or Linux in general

#

So they have made the capitalisation error a few times

#

And it is one of their older mods I recently downloaded

#

Although

#

I will say. It is easy to forget the capitalisation rule.

#

As I always capitalise when I can

worthy moth
#

In a lot of cases, SMAPI tries to make things case-insensitive

robust patrol
#

So I don't blame them for it honestly

robust patrol
worn marsh
#

If you know that its probably 1 of 2 mods, you can use filesearch to search for "weapons" inside all their files

#

at least on windows, searching inside files is a thing

robust patrol
worthy moth
#

If you have VSCode, it's possible to search all files within a folder/subfolders by its content. You can even do case sensitive searches and regular expressions.

worn marsh
#

yeah, that's what I mean

#

but the MFM submod is probably going to have one text document anyways, so you could open that and search it conventionally if you dont have the option

robust patrol
#

Yeah

robust patrol
#

I have no idea lol

I can't figure it out

i not sure if this makes sense but if i have two laptops that i play the same save file on and i download a few mods that add new content (like new rooms and items. would things just look out of place and funky?
im not very tech savvy and don’t want to risk breaking my save.

#

if you don't even install SMAPI on one of them, that save will not work

languid trout
#

I...just said that, yes.

it was a cottage one and a color shade one i think a texture one too but i dont think that was part of the Dcburger

Put the cottage and texture ones back; the colourshade one has a different installation procedure than basically any other Stardew mod and you should follow the instructions on its Nexus page if you want to install it

Also, install Portraiture

Hey so I was playing co-op with a friend and for some reason our farm and the day/season reset? Everything else is the same, well for me since I was the host but not for him since when the farm reset he didn’t have a house. I have the same money, the same friendship with everyone, the same quests (expect for the introduction one which for some reason started over?) and all the things we had unlocked are still unlocked

#

I also have the same skills and everything, we do play with mods but I’m not sure if this is a base game problem or if it’s something with the mods since they never gave us any problem

Where can i put mod in stardew valley

🤡

go to the stardew's steam setting and launch options and paste this there : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command%

#

Ok but what can i do now

#

Or possibly your Steam library is on your D drive or something. the SMAPI installer tells you exactly what to put in your launch options when it's done running - run it again if you need to check

limpid musk
#

yeah probably

i just shared the general location

I'm using SVE and RSV and my game is with a lot of lag and freezing.
I had 152 mods and removed almost all of them, but the problem persists.
There is no error in my SMAPI log and my mods are all in their last versions.
I put my SDV in the antivirus exclusion, adjusted the monitor, optimizated my PC and the drivers and made everything I saw in the Internet, but the lag and freezes are still there.
Just don't know what to do anymore.

There's no error in my SMAPI log.
I parsed my log today.
There are a few mods that SMAPI says that need to be updated (Json Assets and Space Core), but the new versions in Nexus are the alphas for the 1.6 version of SDV, so I didn't make the update.

Hi! I was in here a couple nights ago asking for help trying to figure out why my Great Friends section on my perfection tracker was stuck at 99% even though I was at full hearts and thought I’d seen every event I needed to (but am less sure about that part because I added a few NPC mods that added a lot of events - I have Event Lookup, but it can be hard to tell what some of the events are).

#

Agent Lyoko suggested patch export Data/NPCDispositions to run through the list of people to see if any NPC names jumped out at me, which I did and every name looked familiar so I’m certain I’ve friended everyone, so now I’m back to wondering if I’ve missed events from the mods I’ve added. Is there a way to specifically look up events I’ve missed that I need to see for Great Friends on the perfection tracker?

stark horizon

Oh, my bad! I missed that.

gaunt gust
#

As for who is missing, no clue, I would just use Perfection Tweaker to adjust the requirement down tbh

quasi moat
#

I thought it required all the heart events, at least, but I wasn’t sure what else was needed there

stark horizon
#

To answer your original question, though, there is no easy way to get a list of events you haven't seen.

#

And tbh, the Perfection Tracker has been known to glitch out occasionally, so you could be one of the unlucky few that is subjected to that.

#

Gotcha, thanks! It’s just frustrating not knowing what’s keeping me from hitting that last percent there, lol

Vortex (Nexus) and ModDrop both are mod managers that can help you keep your mods up to date, but they are difficult to troubleshoot. If you're looking for a mod manager that was written specifically for SDV and has troubleshooting logs built in, you can try Stardrop (!stardrop).

If you're using a non-Stardrop mod manager and ask for help troubleshooting, you can ask the Nexus Discord https://www.nexusmods.com/discord or the Moddrop Discord https://www.moddrop.com/app/about (scroll down). If you're using Stardrop, please remember to provide a Stardrop log.

How do I "turn off" mods

#

Like I want the vanilla game

pallid summit
#

!playvanilla if you mean be able to do both modded and unmodded

native dragonBOT
#

Do you want to play the vanilla game after having installed SMAPI? Keep in mind that you cannot play vanilla on a previously modded save. Please use separate saves for playing vanilla vs modded Stardew! That said, there are a few ways this can be achieved:

  1. If playing the game through Steam or GOG on a Windows device, clear your launch options, then select play from your game client. See the !launchoptions command for more info.

  2. Go into your game folder and launch StardewValley.exe. See the !findmodsfolder command for more info.

  3. Change the name of your Mods folder to anything other than Mods. Then launch the game as you normally would, this will make SMAPI launch but without any mods being loaded by it.

  4. Set up SMAPI as a custom game in Steam. See the !modgroups command for more info.
