Your Mods folder should be in your game folder after you install SMAPI. See here for more information on finding it: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Find_your_game_folder
If you use Steam, you can also right click on the game name > Manage > Browse Local Files.

Download mods that would fit your aesthetics? or do you have a specific wall/floor you want? If anything you can always check out items on CJB to generate it for you. (If you have that mod installed of course)
make sure you have Content Patcher too
I do have aesthetic based mods for wallpaper and flooring, but I don't know how that'll make the missing walls reappear. When I get that upper right room built, the upper level of the house just looks like one giant room
Not interior wise. I have something that changes the exterior appearance and two mods that add rooms to the house, like a mini greenhouse in the lower room and a ladder to an attic. I already tried deleting those with no luck.
if u move out all ur mods except error handler does it still show like that?
(ur save will be fine as long as u don't go to sleep)

move only cp and the mods that need it to ur folder

Have you check the config file for those mods? Maybe it wasn't turn on?
If anything else try a new save file and test it out.

aah my bad! i got the console to pop up and it seems to be working now, im a little confused on how to change my launch options to enable achievements
right click the game on steam, choose properties. then input the path to your smapi in the launch options. for most people it looks like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command%
if your game is in a different location ofc it will be slightly different

That looks like the crash longevity causes
idk why, you should get a purple weird item show up instead of a flounder
longevity people claimed it wasn't them but so far every single person with this problem fixed it by uninstalling longevity

Yeah, like, it doesn't say it's broken and there's no red text in the smapi window, but I ran around giving people bouquets to test it and they all used the vanilla responses

My game has been stuttering since yesterday, since then I've been deleting mods that I don't use/like/need but nothing has helped it. I deleted and downloaded spritemaster again but still, the game keeps acting weird.

also we don't really recommend vortex bc it causes a lot of issues, but smapi especially isn't meant to be installed through vortex

There's only a handful of people willing to even try multithreaded programming in stardew. I would check Spritemaster first
thanks for the suggestion but spritemaster has only been add recently this is happening before it too just in a old save (thought it might have been cause margo was added late in that save appently not)
(It's a pretty obvious multithreaded programming error)

If you see a multithreaded programming error, I always check Spritemaster first. There's a limited number of uses of multithreading in other mods too.
MARGO itself might use some multithreading, I know DaLion favors async for mod messages

margo is spewing out a error about it's config but i have touched the config outside of using the generic mod config.

Nod! i was like all of my stardrop profiles can't possibly have the same mod causing the issue. 
Okay so there's still a problem with the Champagne Wishes mod, even after the update, I still can't get 2 recipes, the champagne sorbetto and the frosted champagne grapes

With the updates for PYTK and TMXL in march, are they still performance hogs that I should cut from my list when load times start getting high?
pytk yes, but tmxl no longer requires pytk though so it may be safer now (?
(i dont recommend the tmxl update either way, seems the update borked some things up and people have ended up with no doors or with weirdly placed buildings)
thr pytk update (the lite ver) also doesn't cause lag anymore, but it's kinda useless imo. you still need the old pytk for cp high res portraits (for which u can use portraiture or hd portraits), and everything else is off pytk now
The custom furniture still need pytk cuz the new one doesn't let the furniture place outside
custom furniture has a lot of problems
old custom furniture would sometimes crash overnight in MP
new CF sometimes just crashes
new cf doesn't need pytk, the problems with the mod aren't related to needing pytk
CF overhaul still isn't super stable iirc, or at least when I've tried it a couple times recently. 
Question ; If I'd extract the right XNB's, replace some of the images of tilesheets with just some recoloured ones , repack it into XNB again, and just overwite my files, it will just work right?

Thanks. I understand the risks. If I make proper backups of an XNB file, and merely edit some of the PNG's colours, and repack it again, I feel like that shouldn't be a major change or possible issue?
just dont do it, make the edits you want to make and use Content Patcher

Yes, i've read it all. The fact that the Wiki contains such a piece about false positives, or being safe, means that it is not always a guarantee. It's just a personal preference in the end.
fair enough, just don't xnb mod, it's easier to just compile it yourself or read all the src if you really hate smapi
I respect that you can respect my opinion 🙂 Maybe i'll try it at some point, but just editing a couple of PNG's and overwriting my own XNB (this is an edit for just me, i was not planning on releasing it at all) sounded better to me.
Oh, I've done that too. It's probably the hackiest piece of modding I've done for Stardew.
If I actually did plan on releasing it, I'd have to do a lot more work.

Depends on your hardware, running 3 expansion mods and a bunch of other might be the problem. Try to load fewer expansion mod

Hey I’m just downloading SDV but I’m trying to download SMAPI and it keeps giving error messages saying that one of the files is missing and that my ‘antivirus’ may have deleted it. Although I don’t have an antivirus installed. I deleted and reinstalled SMAPI twice already and it’s been the same deleted file.

no, these are the original files in the root of the game, it changed when i used the ms paint to put the cp cursors and messed up everything

I updated my mods today [content patcher, better Ranching, Json assets, space core, SVE (before and after todays update)] along with downloading a few new mods (non destructive NPCs, no fence decay, UI info suite, custom kissing mod, marry morris) and now I’m getting a message from SMAPI that an item was removed to prevent crashing. My more hairstyles and seasonal outfits mods are no longer showing in game. Any idea what caused this?

hi, im on a co-op farm with friends and one of my friends has a fully-upgraded house with no usable cellar. on one day, there was a wall where the cellar should have been, and on the next, the cellar appeared but was an infinite loading screen when attempting entrance. here is the error log

the game freezes / lags whenever I do something which makes an animation over the game, for example:
pressing the windows button
volume increase/decrease
windows+G for Xbox game bar
when I do any of these, the game freezes along with the in game cursor, and the default cursor appear on top of it which can be moved but has so use. pressing the windows button again and a few mouse click resumes the game again.
I'm pretty sure it's not caused by any of the mods, I've tried uninstalling them.

does json assets have methodology for the order in which it adds item entries per mod? does it do them a-z order of your mods folder?
I'm wondering if renaming a mod to sit at the last spot in my folder is enough to avoid a json shuffle on my current modded save, I'm assuming it acts as I described so I'm hoping that avoids an issue but idk for sure
Is there a way to make a modded skill be set to lvl 0/0 xp cause tried console commands via skill id but it wont go past id 5 which is luck, reason being trying to set magic for partner to lvl 0 cause their broke and started at lvl 5 with none of the benfits (i know with console code you can excute c# code in the console so any ideas would be amazing)

I dont think that's how it works. You can get a Json Shuffle when you add any json assets mod, no matter if it's the first or the last thing to load
However, Json Shuffles are extremely minimal at the moment
i thought json assets added item ids dynamically to avoid internal overlap though, so surely it would have to work in some order where it's in some way aware of what it's already added, no?

Hi, I'm having issues with a mod that no longer has a page on Nexus called "Abigail as Nekomata Okayu from Hololive" the issue being that the png won't load in the portrait and that I don't know how to solve it. The mods that are apparently required to use it are some older versions of "PyTK" and "Portraiture", I have a file I got from an archive that I can send for a clearer picture.
I'm not sure what went wrong. My log doesnt have any errors, I checked the UI to see if I somehow turned it off... but it should be going well. Log below. I'm on PC, albeit an old one. I wasnt doing anything unusual at the time, just playing.

the only thing I can think is something started to override it... I updated mods and it worked fine, but I admit I cant recall exactly when it changed vs when I noticed it changed back.
Are pngs able to overwrite xnbs? I don't know if I should change the ".png" to ".xnb" on the file to attempt to overwrite so it appears on the portrait.

I did see content patcher trying to use a png I had but it failed because another mod was trying to use it too, neither of them worked as a result.
If the other mod has a config, you can turn off the portraits with GMCM, or in the config.json

This warning means that CP and SMAPI have had to disable certain optimizations for pytk. Pytk will work fine for now, but you may see increased lag

Pytk lite doesn't have that issue, but I'd say it's pretty much useless. Most mods don't need it PYTK anymore
Unless you plan to use content patcher high res portraits, you'll need the old pytk, and in that case, it's recommended to convert it to portraiture or hd portraits

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

So does Portraiture actually do something or is it the same as PyTK? They were both in the mod pack for the thing I installed and the pngs that I am using aren't appearing in the portrait.

The sprites in the file work too.
Portraiture is to only load portraits, it's more commonly used for high res portraits but I believe it works with normal sized portraits as well

In the portraiture's portrait folder it says "Non-Content-Pack-Folders-Go-Here" would that be applicable to pngs? Would it load them in to the portraits?
The old mod pack of portraiture has some json and dll files but that version is 1.8.1.
Would some of the old files be usable in order to have content patcher read them?
i recall that Portraiture only needs the png. i think it will work if you just drop it inside the folder, and it needs to be named like the npc's name. like if you're going to use an Abigail portraits, the file needs to be called Abigail.png
If it has island portraits, it has to be called Abigail_IslandSouth.png

Just use the new Portraiture version, it's possible some things were changed between updates

I'm trying to get the Defense Division mod to work, with little sucess. I got the main mod, and the english translation, but just putting the english translation into the main one is giving me all the error codes, and looking at it the folder names does not match up. Does anyone have a zip file of this mod in english that works for them?

I am using Vortex, I don't see how it can be a problem though.
All the other mods work fine, its just the pngs not loading in.
Vortex is just kind of buggy when installing Stardew mods, but I don't think that's the problem here specifically

All the CP mods (content patcher mods) works without having to do anything. Its very rarely i need to put them in the portrature mod
Yah but this is a high res portraits, and it would need the old PyTK which we're trying to avoid
I also don't know how CP high res portraits work so I felt it was easier to explain something easier

Hey~ sorry to bother, I've been having an issue and after removing a bunch of mods and trying to fix it, I just can't find what the issue is.
I checked all my saves and all of them work perfectly, except the one I'm trying to play.
The issue is that the game has slight stutters all the time, unrelated to what I'm doing. They start since starting the day and never go away.

i see two empty folders and two xnb mods, but i dont think that would cause a stutter
Yeah... I ignore them because they haven't caused any issue ever, but also, if they were the issue it would go across all saves, but the issue is only present in 1 save and not the others

I know it was dynamic nighttime during abby's 6 heart event that just
blew my game up but idk why and how
that is.. a large number of errors 
i genuinely have no idea what the actual hell happened, but I know it was that mod
It only broke during that cutscene too, every other nighttime one was fine with it

youll have to manually change the texture of each building yourself, go to robin's and buy the paint bucket. use the paint bucket on each thing you want to change

I'm hoping to download the Tractor Engine Sound mod but had a couple questions...it says it needs PyTK toolkit, so I installed that from its Nexus page, but Stardrop is telling me it needs to be updated? Can I use the lite version instead that is supposedly updated? Also, I was seeing some comments on the Tractor Engine Sound mod saying to not download the "Complete" file but instead download the Tractor Idle Sound Only and Tractor Sound Classic...anyone know?

Hello!! Is there anyone that can help me troubleshoot why SVE would not be working on my steam deck? I have downloaded all the other 9 required mods and I see red on smapi when it’s loading the game but cannot figure out how to access it to see what is not working, if that makes sense? It loads too fast for me to see the exact error

i set mine to use F5 (you can change the keybind to w/e works best) and the little pufferfish comes up; i click and it uploads the log to smapi.io and parses it
How do you set the hotkey? It says to open the menu and go to the options tab but I cannot find it 🤦♀️ what’s wrong with me lol
Maybe it’s just because I’m on desktop version so I can just press the steam button to reassign buttons like normal if I was playing it not in desktop mode.
