Okay. But look.
If it's supposed to start from steam, then you have to put in launch options
I'm almost 100% sure the SMAPI installer does not automatically set launch options on Linux
so if it was working, but now isn't, like with the Mac instructions where if you verify files it clears the launch options
You need to check the
!launchoptions
If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). or, well, it doesn't clear the launch options on Mac, it uninstalls SMAPI
try re-running the installer, see if it pops back up

Hey everyone, so I’m playing multiplayer with my friend and the game is modded, and it always freezes at the very first mines cutscene where you get the rusty sword, the host can still run around and do stuff but I can’t do anything accept alt+f4. Does anyone know a fix this this? I’ve pretty much tried everything I could.
im getting a weird bug where some uis are getting weird offsets instead of being centered like they should and can only interact with them if i zoom out the ui scale which is annoying to do example shown with stardew aquarium mod

FireworksFestivalBlackPowder, FireworksFestivalChemizer, you have both recipes
so another mod is preventing them from showing up in your crafting menu
(under HasCraftingRecipe)
I think at this point you're going to have to try temporarily disabling mods until you find the culprit
I haven't spotted anything obvious in your mods list
and you've verified they're in the patch export, so it's not something else editing Data/CraftingRecipes and overriding them
It's also distantly possibly they're in your crafting menu but hiding

hey guys! bit of a long shot but is anyone currently running SDV with any of the dc burger portraits by OrangePieUwU? They require PyTK to work and i know that mod is currently not working (300 or so bug reports).

ill remove sds since its the only mod giving me an error
portraiture doesnt need pytk anymore so I just moved all their portraits into the mod folder

stardrop was actually the first mod reccomended to me when i was a newbie, really helps alot

Update: I got stardrop installed and its working properly! It was easier to install than I expected 
anyone who can help.. :/ i keep freezing after 2 in game days during the night after saving

Any help appreciated. Game freezes upon loading(except audio), any attempt to do anything crashes. I did some testing, and if i uninstall Spacecore, the game runs fine. However, CF is dependent upon Spacecore. Has been doing this since downloading some furniture mods, but uninstalling those did not fix the issue.

i assume you updated Custom Furniture recently?

Remove Custom Furniture
as it switched from PyTK to SpaceCore
There is....something odd in the last update
the author did warn that all furniture should be removed beforehand
CF no longer uses PyTK, it's likely you don't need PyTK at all anymore
I suspect the latest version of Custom Furniture is broken in some way
That specific error keeps on coming up
And removing Custom Furniture entirely fixes things
I just tried running with PYTK installed, and the game crashed upon loading house, and had NOTHING in it

depends on whether you saved the game with the new CF
it was saved yes
then i'm afraid going back won't help now
So options are, uninstall CF completely

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

Per Pathoschild's Automate documentation, if you have machines added through other mods and you want to adjust the machine's priority, you would create a new entry in config.json's MachineOverrides section yes? Has anyone done this by chance?

What happens if I open unmodded worlds
Mods will be applied to unmodded worlds if you open them. If you want to open unmodded worlds and keep them unmodded, you'll need to delete the launch options
Otherwise, you can put SMAPI as a non-steam game if you want to swap between them often
They won't break, but
if you save with mods on, you can no longer load them without mods
or at least SMAPI running with error handler
So make sure you're 100% committed to adding mods to a save file
(And it's a save by save basis, so you can keep a vanilla save vanilla while playing modded as long as you don't load it and then save)

Hello, can somebody help me with SVE on Xbox PC? I have followed the installation guide but when I try to open stardew valley from the xbox app or through the content folder of the game, it would look like I am still running the original game. Aside from the exact folders and mods required to run SVE, I only added the immersive farm 2 remastered and that's it. Thank you. ❤️

is anyone using "item bags" and can help me? For some modded bags, like PPJA Fruit and Veggies, or Mizu Flowers, only the crops are shown in the bag, not the seeds. For Lumisteria's Flowers, or Quaint Flowers, the seeds can be put into the bags as well as the crops.

we removed a mod that added umbrellas due to it bugging out for one of the players.

recently my game has been crashing a lot and i don't know for sure what it my be but for some reason when i launch smapi a bunch of my mods say "blank mod uses deprecated code and will break in the next major smapi update" anyone know whats wrong?
SMAPI 3.18.0 raised deprecation levels to the final stage, meaning SMAPI will now show yellow warning dialogues for mods with deprecated code. For the user, this just means that the mods have old code and will break in SMAPI 4.0 if they are not updated - it is not anything to worry about at this time. (For mod authors, it's a not-nice warning to update your code already!

Hi! I'm new here, looking for help with an error I just managed to cause that has my Stardew application not even loading on my Mac anymore. I use a lot of mods and was just updating some of them. After a few updates, I launched the game and loaded one of my farms, and it froze up before I could even get out of my farmhouse. SMAPI had a bunch of messages in red and said the game had crashed, which was a new one for me. I'm pretty sure I had accidentally downloaded the CP version of Industrial Furniture Set instead of the CF version when I was updating mods, so I just deleted that and got the right one back, but now the game just won't even launch at all. Does anyone have ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I tried deleting my most recent save of that farm and renaming the "old" one to be current, which usually fixes any bugs I encounter, but no luck this time. but this happens with more then just kegs
where sometimes i place them down, and they have their own seperate textures, happens with sprinklers too
it seems to be a problem with the gwen's texture, but really unsure of how to fix it, never happened before on other times i've used the mod

This is a really good thought. I just noticed in the process that the smapi.latest said "press any key to delete the crash data and continue playing," so I'm trying that! It was written in practically invisible type in my Terminal log

(fwiw, it's not error handler axing it, it's spacecore; spacecore should not be loading items that match classes that don't exist. That said...I've definitely seen it not do that correctly, but quite rarely. I was hoping the CF furniture was still the custom subclass. That way, removing CF causes spacecore to axe all the custom furniture. But apparently not)

Then yeah the earthy recolor shouldn't do anything to it. I'd be betting money it'd be one of the things affecting the craftables

Right. But the thing is, the recolors and such don't affect items in the world - that's only the mods that do so. I would very much more assume it's one of your Medieval Craftables/Lamps content packs
That or potentially a reshader or something
since I'm assuming those kegs are a medieval craftable, disable the "Lamps" content pack, see if it persists
otherwise I'd be it's just the keg art on certain locations

Is anyone using Kaya's vanilla hybrid crop mod and has been able to successfully deposit the crops in Demetrius's lab for his quests? Yeah, this is the fault of "Xtardew P&S" per your log. Apparently it creates duplicate versions of NPCs. Why? I have no clue, and I'm not about to download the mod to check. But if you check the other houses, the regular versions of those NPCs are safe at home

But if, say, you have two chocolate bars and one has a recipe in it and the other doesn't, you may need to figure out how to resolve that

right now you have it reversed I think. by adding a false dependency to Overgrown, you're telling Overgrown to check for Gender Neutrality and then load after it. So I think you actually need to put Overgrown's ID in the Gender Neutrality mod manifest. This will force Gender Neutrality to "check" for Overgrown and then load after it.
you also seem to have the Gender Neutrality mod....dependent on itself? (this is creating the circular dependency that Lyoko mentions below)
my console commands folder is empty somehow. how do i fix that?

so i'll just shoot a question here, sorry if it's not the correct place but i'm rather new to modding stardew valley. i had installed stardew valley extended but along with content patcher and some portrait mods, the portraits did not work so somethings conflicted somewhere, since that didn't work i went with overwriting the original potraits with the the potrait mods png. I mean i realized later they were the portraits from extended but i'm at a loss, my assumption is that content patcher was probably to simplify that, is there a simple remedy to to mods conflicting with other portraits mods?

ah, I got frustrated so i did a clean install, but It was extended and a few mods, i'll do it again and see if i can replicate it
I am currenly trying to fugure out which mods is causing an odd issue, might be my windows 11 laptop being the stick in the mud (I cannot use mods that need event repeater after an update last month... fun times hunting that was a big issue suddenly). But my current issue is this. When my game changed from summer to fall and again when I change to fall to winter, the game freezes and stays that way some of the time, when it does not it just long. No errors nothing. Though a few mods I have used had an update so focused on removing them and seeing if they are the issue. It could be some flaw on my computer, but ill figure it out and tell the mod auther about it and see if they can do anything

@latent nest You update mods the same way you install them. However, it looks like that one mod doesn't actually need a update. Sometimes a mod author will forget to change the version number when they update their mods and it'll incorrectly say there's is an update when there actually isn't an update.

thanks yall i figured it out, seems my brother had downloaded the smapi mods a looong time ago and i was only paying attention to deleting the mods folder and didnt see the smapi internal file, everythings good now!
is there a tutorial on how to unzip the mods in the stardew file?

Because you have multiple copies in your mod folder and therefore it won't work
The error will tell you where the two folders are
(Alternatively, you can toss a log in here and we can show you the "where")
i figured that but even when i uninstalled everything it was still saying there were multiple

You somehow managed to put DCBurger's manifest in three separate areas of Ridgeside

The manifest thing is what tells SMAPI there's a mod in a folder. Somehow, DCBurger's manifest is in all the portrait folders
and I don't think DCBurger's a portrait replacer, but it's in every folder with portraits, so I'm assuming you somehow copied the entire mod in those folders

Okay so you're using the replacer version and it's reading the PyTK jsons as manifests. I would use the optional file (starts with (CP)) instead
I would also download and unzip to your mod folder the main Ridgeside file, because it cannot be deployed via Vortex
so delete PyTk mod
I mean that would be preferable too
But I mean deploy the second content patcher one via Vortex since I think that's possible

apparently there's issues with deploying Ridgeside with Vortex which - well, it tracks - so the option was disabled entirely
To be fair, it previously deployed the mobile version and not the PC one

Less Ugly Town Interiors isn't compat with SVE in its current form Aangy so you'll need to toss it if you want SVE
(at least per your log)
as for the DCBurger one.... it looks like it's bugged somehow in the Content Patcher version. I think this is what nicole meant by PyTK scaling
I guess reinstall PyTK and see if that fixes it. Otherwise yeet PyTK again and then you'll have to learn how to use Portraiture

Go into your mods folder, and then don't go any deeper than mods and find a [CP] Ridgeside Village folder
do not click into the Ridgeside Village folder
just find the [CP] Ridgeside Village folder in Mods
Kill it
send it to the shadow realm that is your recycle bin
Then load your save and send a new log
(Assuming you aren't deleting the one inside the Ridgeside Village folder, we might manage to fix the issue)

you have a "stardew mods v2" folder in your mods folder

alternatively, if that's how you're organizing your mods, delete the mail framework, fashion sense, and generic mod config menu inside your mods folder
