oh, i've never had that issue lol. i get a pop up once in a while and am able to just press decline.

regardless, getting an extraction tool will fix your issue!! so whichever one you want

it just has no benefits over a tool like 7-Zip

im thinking they are referring to the entire foliage redone recolour, not the "foliage only" version?? the foliage redone recolour was removed from nexus but the foliage only ver is still up

can someone tell me how it works if i have a save where i play w mods but i wanna make another one without any mods? can i just remove the launch option on steam and play the unmodded farm or will that break my modded one?

ebon yacht
# fossil jasper can someone tell me how it works if i have a save where i play w mods but i wann...

you can just remove the mods. i play a multiplayer save with my husband on split screen and he hates mods so i just remove my mods from the game before we play on our modless save, and then move them back in when i go to play my save. but you have to ensure you are doing this with mods that have easy uninstall processes. there's a few mods i have avoided installing because i've seen that the uninstall process for them is a bit different, the shiko npc as an example.

halcyon igloo
#

you can just remove the launch options and it'll launch vanilla

#

!modgroups this is also an option and what i do

native dragonBOT
ebon yacht
#

@halcyon igloo do you know much about spouse patios at all??

halcyon igloo
#

no lol but what's up

ebon yacht
#

i have free love and am married to sebastian and magnus. once I married magnus it immediately switched the patio from sebastians motorcycle to...whatever magnus' is lol. should i have custom spouse patios installed in order to be able to have multiple patios?

#

i even tried seeing if i could switch it back to sebs but couldn't figure it out so i was like ....hmm..i feel like im missing something here lol

#

i avoided the mod at first because i didn't want 65 different spouse patios surrounding my house but if its gonna keep switching them out the more people i marry i will scream lmao

mystic lodge
#

You need to place new patios manually, by clicking F8 iirc

fossil jasper
ebon yacht
mystic lodge
#

No no, you need a mod if you want more patios

ebon yacht
#

and if i dont have it it will just keep switching the patios out based on who i recently married, right??

mystic lodge
#

This one

ebon yacht
#

thank you, def installing it hahah

mystic lodge
scarlet quail
#

Correct. It's main spouse unless you have Custom Spouse Patio Redux, at which point you can have them all in separate spots

fossil jasper
scarlet quail
#

So: Have one person as your main spouse, then add on Custom Spouse Patios for each marriage person you want. Caveat: When you marry someone, they will become main spouse until you swap that out with a bouquet, so it will swap regardless every time you marry. You'll just have to swap it back

ebon yacht
#

thanks so much!!! i don't really know why i overlooked the patio thing, i guess i just didn't fully realize what they were and didn't think it would bother me haha.

willow blaze
native dragonBOT
#

Making mods can be broadly divided into two categories: SMAPI mods, which use C#, and content packs, which don’t require coding knowledge, just making json files. Usually it’s easiest to start with making content packs, especially if there’s a framework that already does what you want, and in general it's better to use frameworks whenever possible for compatibility reasons.

To get started with SMAPI modding, see here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Modder_Guide/Get_Started

To get started with content pack modding, you’ll probably want to check the list of frameworks here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Content_pack_frameworks and then either use the wiki tutorial on Content Patcher here https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Content_Patcher or check out the tutorial wiki in case there’s a tutorial https://stardewmodding.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:Tutorials

Yes, so back up your content folder where you replaced XNBs

lunar mesa
#

ty

#

do i have to reset even if i didnt place it as xnb?

#

i unpack the xnbs before i put them in my game

#

i usually just use the pngs

scarlet quail
#

Yeah. Don't worry, reset just wipes the non-vanilla XNBs. It shouldn't really affect your file much

lunar mesa
#

ok

scarlet quail
#

Anyway, a readthrough of your trace and patch summary indicates there's no dual load that would revert it to vanilla, but it is saying that Medieval Buildings and (CP) Yellog's Wood Buildings are both EditImage Buildings/Coop (and their upgraded variants)

strong vale
#

Hey y'all! I'm trying to get Wildflour's Community Bundles to work. First I need to get the Challenging Community Center Bundles to work as well! I launched the game, but there's no config.json inside my folder

scarlet quail
#

so the next thing I'd test - since Medieval Buildings is loading after (CP) Yellog's Wood Buildings, indicating it should override Yellog's version - is disabling Medieval buildings for the moment, or its coop if it has that as an option

It's confusing cuz NO ONE else is reporting this issue

I think I see the potential issue, depending. That filepath ain't the mods filepath

I... do not know how that mod manager works - that's not even a mod manager I usually see around here

is there a manifest.json inside the folder 1 level up?

scarlet quail
#

Mods go here: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods

strong vale
#

No I'm

#

Fully aware of where base game mods go

#

MO2 injects them into that folder on launch

scarlet quail
#

Do me a favor then

strong vale
#

Same as it does for Skyrim

scarlet quail
#

Move that mod into that folder

#

I know, outside of your organizer

#

But please try it.

strong vale
#

Oh lorde

#

I can try

lament prairie
#

So, have any of your config.jsons ever worked?

scarlet quail
#

(It's being loaded on the log, supposedly, but I have my theory so far)

lament prairie
#

or do they just end up in the Mods folder and not in the wherever MO2 is pulling from

strong vale
#

I've definitely configured lots of stuff with config files that work

lunar mesa
#

yeah so its after i go to bed it changes

strong vale
#

Adding it to the mods folder and disabling it in MO2 broke it harder

scarlet quail
#

actually that might help tbh

strong vale
scarlet quail
#

If you moved it exactly as it was, that might actually be the cause of the problem. It's erroring out but not showing due to the mod manager, and if it errors out, it won't generate a config

lament prairie
#

try sending a new log

scarlet quail
#

The question is simply how to make it work

strong vale
#

I... doubt that's the case, but uhm

#

I guess we can try?

#

That's just

#

Not how MO2 works, really

scarlet quail
#

I mean if it isn't then you would have moved it wrong and I'd like to not assume that's the case

lament prairie
#

or a screenshot of the folders?

#

the ones that claim to have no manifest

#

MO2 might be overwriting them to be empty

strong vale
lament prairie
#

or there might actually be no manifest

strong vale
#

Oh wait

#

So

#

The folder it's complaining about is the virtual folder it creates when launching SMAPI through MO2. it creates an INSTANCE of Stardew and puts all the mods in that folder when you launch. However, the Virtual Folder will sometimes leave an empty folder with JUST the config in it. That MIGHT be the file we want, now that I'm thinking about it

#

Hold plz

#

Well hello there

scarlet quail
#

Yuppers

#

There's your config

#

The config is generated when the game is launched, so SMAPI tells the game to put a config file in your mod folder, which means the instance of Stardew has been launched by that point

lament prairie
#

nab it! you can put it into the original MO2 thing and whatever, I expect

scarlet quail
#

I knew it had to be something with the mod manager. Just couldn't pinpoint what given, well, gestures at zero knowledge of mod managers outside of Vortex bad and manual modding everything

lament prairie
#

idk anything MO2 but luckily it looks like this bit is resolved 😅

native dragonBOT

Dynamic Game Assets (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9365) is a mod which lets content packs and other mods add custom content like crops, trees, weapons, etc. See the mod description for details.

If you're making custom content, ask mod authors in #making-mods-general about whether using Json Assets (!ja) would be more suitable instead.

placid steppe
#

oh

scarlet quail
#

Well, at least that makes it simple to check again Elizabeth - as long as L<3 posts the other person(s) mods again, we can figure out what's mismatched again

#

(Their modlist is small enough it'd be easy to figure out)

placid steppe
#

the only mods i didnt download were aesthetic local changing ones

scarlet quail
#

So full disclosure - you may have thought they were only aesthetic, but that may be wrong

#

For example, someone in the past here had the Sailor Styles mod. Supposedly, just aesthetic. But it has a Json Assets component.

#

Because of that mismatch, their multiplayer game screwed over anyone entering the forest that wasn't them.

#

So: Your log and your friend's will be key to figuring out what's up. The differences at this point, now that you've supposedly evened out the mods, will allow us to check and figure out of the mismatched mods which is the likely culprit

Those four should be your main issues, L<3. The only ones I can't say for certain Content pack wise is the Penny Expanded and Elf Ears thing, but both of those seem to be fine (i.e. dialogue changes are client-only and so should Elf Ears be)

But as long as those four mods are not on both (or neither) you will still have issues, especially with the Elevator/portraiture/truffles things

# scarlet quail I knew it had to be *something* with the mod manager. Just couldn't pinpoint wha...

Mod Organizer takes a very different and revolutionary approach. It never writes files to the game data directory, but instead creates and uses a virtual filing system (VFS). It is called virtual because it does NOT exist on the regular file system and only exists when MO tells a program it exists. When the game is started by MO, it is unaware of this VFS and thinks it uses the regular Windows file system. Therefore, all installed mods are loaded and used normally. The same is true for any other program started by MO
Just by the by!

At the moment my current game file seems fine but I've only played an extra day in game since i got that error in smapi and it seemed to save normally overnight and load the next day fine. Just worried as in my old save file which had the error it kept appearing every day and would cause the game to freeze when saving overnight and loading the next day + entering other parts of the map. I'm not good with mod and errors but it's flagged as a game error and doesn't seem like any of my mods are conflicting

Most of your mods look fine and it shows up on day generation, so I'm afraid I don't have any idea why it's happening. (It wouldn't be related to Ridgeside, by the way, and if you'd like to put Ridgeside back on you can use SpriteMaster to decrease your load times)

Thank you for your help so far. I've tried googling the first part of the error message and i can see some people get the same error but once they post their log there is nothing followed up. I'm hoping it's not my save being corrupted as it doesnt explicitly say what the problem is (i thought my previous game file was corrupted due to both sdv expanded and ridgeside being big so i got to a point in ridgeside where I'd more or less seen everything and didn't mind deleting the mod and the supporring mods). I'll try play a few more days when i next play and see if it appears again, this current save is only on spring y2.

It's not corrupted. Corruption would be "Root Element is missing"

So I'm having a very weird issue with the new Trinkets mod and More New Fish. It seems that whenever I have Trinkets installed, the fish sprites in MNF seem to become invisible. Does anyone know why something like that would be happening?
