i updated smapi just now, i guess i gotta wait for it to recognize that?
Not it is still the same you must delete PyTK and any mod that depends on it
i deleted them from the mods folder, is there another place i have to delete them from?

i tried but it still says my smapi file is 3.15.1 when it should says its 3.17.2
maybe its just my controller making these windows pop up? my cursor is doing just fine and will work but my controller on lets me use certain buttons
did you relaunch the game after installing the newer version of smapi? the log should be updated then and show the correct smapi version, otherwise the installation didn't go right

Hey i have a question, im asking here to see if anybody has had a smiliar issue because google isnt helpful, i have a savefile that i played on and then added mods on. I have recently gotten rid of the mods and i am just back to regular vanilla stardew. Everytime i launch my savefile my game crashes. I assume this is because of the mods, does anybody know how to fix this or any ideas on how to fix it?

the short version gavin, in case you're not aware, is that mods alter the save file beyond vanilla's ability to read
you need to play a day with the error handler mod (bundled with SMAPI) to have the file cleaned out of the modded content.

I have an event that the only condition left to fulfill to see it is upgrade the farmhouse twice, its been fully upgrade for a while. Which mod types should I look at that might have messed around with that. When I debug play the event, the npc sprite is missing and it just loops the first line of dialogue.
How do you know the only condition left is to upgrade the farmhouse twice?

What the XNB file did was add stuff to your fishing dictionary that Visible Fish couldn't figure out what it was

The first e is showing an event that does not actually exist because in the code it only becomes an event if something else happens in the code
Unfortunately, without a number next to the e, that means due to some prior event, that event no longer even gets created
And that means the event can't be triggered ever
hi help needed, want to play modded multiplayer with a friend but it says i need to log in to play in multiplayer (i use the xbox app for basic game so i have to use the smapi launcher)
(I actually had something recently with Fourteen Heart Events For All Harvey event, which is how I know)

I've opened my game and my 14 heart event does not have those conditions

one of them is the NPC and the other is a pack for NPC Adventures

It's this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/12460, which has a PyTK element to it b/c the images are larger than standard JA size. But I see you have other clothes in there (which also came after Dec 2020) that don't seem to be throwing red errors

Once you remove the bushes, you will find a note. Read the note. The contents are not important but itsets the trigger for the event that follows. You also need to give her the stones and wait 5 days

so i just downloaded vortex, but i havent used it before, is there a way to get all my already downloaded mods to be on there and detect updates?
i already put all my mods on there, but i dont see a way to have them automatically link to the nexus page
does anyone know how to fix this?? it only does it with mods and smapi console says everything is fine- im using better ranching, skip fishing minigame and auto animal doors. game has literally become unplayable and it only started 2 days ago
Then is the only reason the event didn't trigger is because I can't click on the note. I did check with another event that requires the house upgrades and with it still red I was able to trigger the event.

Imo, i won't recommend vortex. You need to download the mod using vortex feature on nexusmods so vortex detect the mod
I'd recommend Stardrop mod manager tho. You can connect it using Nexus API key so you can check update to all mods you have using vortex feature

smapi logs dont have anything, even tried profiler and it didnt come up with anything

If your resolution is messed up try deleting startup_preferences This can be found on Windows at %appdata% > Stardew Valley > it's in that folder, or C:\Users\Yourwindowsnamehere\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley or for Mac can be found at ~/.config/StardewValley To get here you'll want to go to your desktop, then in the menu bar select Go -> Go to Folder...
this isn't your problem exactly, but startuppref can sometimes cause problems
Usually messed up startuppref would result in crashing or just not loading smapi though. But its worth a shot anyway :p

So you deleted some mods and they're still showing up on your log? Which ones did you delete before? Do you have an earlier log from before maybe?

I deleted all the child to NPC mods and basically most of the mods that were in red. So when I tried to go back and post the latest log, in my files it says it was last updated like a month ago. I think I dont understand how to actually remove them from SMAPI

Yeah, smapi updates the log everytime you start up the game. That should tell you whether or not deleting the mods worked
PeePeeCat smapi isn't magic, if it's reporting a mod exists it's in your Mods folder somewhere

Can someone help me figure out what happened? I closed out my modded Stardew game last night (Ive been playing for a couple of days) and it appears when opening up Smapi to play as I usually do, all the contents of the mods folders (individual mod folders) are mostly gone, therefore it cant launch with the mods.

Note my saves are fully intact, nothing corrupted there. Just the mod folders are empty for the most part, theres a config file here and there but some files are completely empty now. I only realized it was messed up when I tried to go to the desert and found that my elevator was missing (playin stardew on babymode dont mind me)

SMAPI does not modify your mod files. if it did, Pathos would have had people screaming at them

Hi again! I'm back with a new question (well problem) My friend downloaded SDV Expanded and all of its required mods, but SMAPI is only loading three mods, there are weird duplicate empty folders in his mod folder (ex. Two CustomNPCExclusions folders but one is real and the other empty). He read off what mods are in his folder, and he's missing the Consolecommands and ErrorHandler folders and we're not sure why this is, does anyone know where we find these?

Within C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\mods(any mod here) it tends to be empty, or have a config file.
you have to reinstall SMAPI in order to get those back, Deranged, it's the only way.

I realistically dont know how vortex works. I only used it to try to make mod managing easier but it just made it a pain so I ignored it. He said he extracted them one at a time then moved them into his mod folder one at a time as well so I think he did?

It's possible he has two game installations or is trying to put the mods into some other folder named Mods
I've accidentally put mods for one game into the mods folder for a other before and once spent over an hour trying to troubleshoot a minecraft mods installation only to realize I'd been putting mods I to the wrong minecraft instabne
This sounds like your friend is loading the three SMAPI mods and no others
meaning your friend is likely putting the mods in the wrong folder

Hey, I have stardew valley expanded, DC Burger portraits pack and lunakatt's pack for SVE in style of dc burger for additional npcs but despite files and proper emotions being present in the files, sometimes portraits show up the vanilla portraits and i get bug saying that .png fille in assets could no be found (but it is there), does anyone know what can cause it?

also, the mod updates mentioned are almost all false pings (because I'm using an alternate version that technically isn't the most recent)
Does anybody know how to remove a mod's keybind so you can't use it but its still there doing its thing im on 1.4 android
and it works perfectly fine up until i press backspace, removing its keybind, then i launch launch it and the mod crashes crashes
according to https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Key_Bindings "None" should be used to disable keybinds, so try that if it's applicable in this case

In my experience every download lags and this has been happening for a long time
I click download, and then some time later the download starts, and there is no indication of the wait time
I've downloaded a few things on the site, and some times, it will look like nothing is happening for a long time until it finally gives you an error
Some people have said that clicking the download button many times will eventually work, but even that only seems to work a few times

Absolutely no idea, and your second question is largely subjective. I personally use Love of Cooking since it adds more varied recipes.

hi there!! so i was having an issue that i thought was related to dynamic reflections: after it would rain, puddles would only show up on my farm, but not anywhere else in game. however, occasionally the noise like i was splashing through a puddle would still play. it was making me a little nutty so i ended up deleting dynamic reflections.

Hello, I am trying to incorporate cave farm from Lnh's Farm Cave and the one included in Immersive Farm 2 Remastered. Both ways has no conflict with one another. However, after accessing the minecart to acces Lnh's Farm Cave, once I popped out, i get the stuck. Can anyone help me in terms of the spawn points adjustment if possible?

Basically they look like those little starfish things rather than like apples.

like ignoring the junimo situation for a sec: you have Starblue Valley installed which is a full recolor. Yet when I try searching for spring_outdoorsTileSheet just as an example of something that I know should be in there... nothing comes up

It says there's two mods that can be updated but ive looked on nexus mods and there's not actually anymore updates for them
the manifest wasn't updated to reflect the actual version of infinite money, so the warning for that one is made in error
and the translated version of the other mod is an older version than the chinese file on the same page so that's probably what that one's about

For something like a simple sprite replacer that won't be an issue, but if a mod changes or adds content that'll be a problem

You've got the fishing overhaul in there for content patcher, that's one I'd think of being an issue since it changes mechanics but if that kind of thing is client or serverside in this game I got no idea

the log is preserved as long as you don't relaunch the game, so you can upload it after closing the game. save loading can take some time so it could be normal depending on what mods you have, but we'll see from the log probably

is there a mod like starksouls? I really like the idea of your total energy persists each day, but starksouls causes a bug where it makes the farmer invincible from certain damage sources like bombs and enemies (when the damage should kill the farmer, it just reverts to 25 health)
i need help with my save file
i have my save file, and i wanted to go to stardew checkup to see my walnuts, and i copied the save file to my downloads to find it quicker so i could put it in the checkup, and it did work and it was accurate
but it won't let me play on that save file anymore. it has completely disappeared from the ingame menu
and i have no idea why, because i never moved it away from the folder
all i did was add "(main)" at the end of the folder name to recognize it in the future, but it just won't work now and i am lowkey panicking
i checked and the save file itself seems to be intact (the "save game" thing at the end of the file when opened in notepad is there) so i tried to fix it by changing my SaveGameInfo file. i took one of my safe files, backed it and my main up just in case, copied the other safe file's SGI file, changed the money to 0 (to differentiate between the 2 saves that would show as duplicates in the load menu) and replaced my main save's SGI with that modified one, and it didn't work.
I have tried to restart my laptop a few times in between too, but every other farm (even the one whose files I used for my main) are still intact and playable, but just my main isn't for no reason.
it's so tiring to always have to do so much just to play the game, it always glitches out for some reason.

Pokefy does seem to potentially change the junimos, although it claims it's not currently doing so

That could be because you aren't currently looking at a junimo
Because it says the conditions are fulfilled
@runic owl ^ that's it. It's changing the junimo with something called Minior, which looks like a blobby star. It sounds like this is configurable so you don't necessarily have to remove the entire mod if you don't want to. Just set "CharacterChanges" to false. That will stop the Junimo, Bear, and Dwarf from changing.

An XNB mod replaces some of your game's .xnb files to change the game (unlike newer mods that go in your Mods folder). There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.

I'm a little confused, because the only way you'd have an older version is (a) steam glitch (happens, actually quite a bit) or (b) you deliberately disabled steam updates, which is a process that is quite involved.

So, I've seen this problem scattered a bit on the internet, but I haven't seen any solutions for it. I can no longer see any quests in my journal, even though I know I still have some active. After I got to the bottom of the mines, the journal disappeared and I've received some quests since then, but they don't show up in my journal. Right. For me it takes about a minute to load
People with PyTK can take up to 15 to load into the save
And it can take longer to load with less powerful computers
So just click the save file to load it, then go do something else for a couple minutes at least
But clicking into the game while it's loading will 100% make you unable to play.

it will preserve the marriage, and you have Custom Spouse Rooms so the spouse rooms will stay
you may lose the extra spouse patios without the Custom Spouse Patios Redux portion

Honeywheat. Your problem is not related to mods.
Your problem is related to your game.
Logs also show where the game is located, and the documents folder indicates you are not playing a legal copy.
Further, even if that wasn't a tip-off, your other mods all are normal stuff people use
CJB mods, three SMAPI mods, and NPC Map Locations I've all used at various points (testing purposes) and they've all worked. The only ones I can't personally verify are the tractor mod (made and maintained by Pathos himself, so it's good) and the Health and Stamina regeneration thing.
Given it's unlikely Health and Stamina would do that to your game, it's related to the fact you have a pirated copy.
You will not get help for that on this server, since we only help with mod errors (and pirated stuff is against the rules to discuss/help with, just mod errors). Your solution will be to buy the game itself.
I'll probably just temporarily disable the ones I have as I don't think she wants all of them, however I'm struggling to see which mods are C# mods I've looked in the log and all I can find are Content packs
Content Packs are under Content Patcher (or the +s under other mods)
C# is everything else

This also means if you have two spouses your friend will now require Free Love

The good news is even if your friend doesn't want Free Love for multiple marriages, it doesn't have to be used and can be used to have a roommate move in with a spouse

So Content Code, whatever that is? C#. Mobile Phone? C#. Platonic Relationships? I believe that's C# too, but it can be done in Content Patcher so it might not be.
If your friend already has the mod, don't worry about it
If your friend doesn't, you're gonna have to make hard decisions
But Free Love is now required, as is Custom Spouse Rooms, given you're married twice over.

Looking at the log, there's an area that says "these mods directly change the game code. They're more likely to cause errors etc etc if your game has issues try removing these first" and it lists mods such as mobile phone, platonic relationships etc

hello! the seasonal custom farm buildings mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9219 isn't working in my game and I have no idea why...all the required mods are updated, there are no conflicts listed in vortex, everything seems to be deploying just fine. @worldly radish Correction thanks to nicole, your mod is loading. However, based on tilesheet edits by content patcher, your likely culprit is the "Rosier Colored Glasses" content pack.
I'm still searching, but please disable that mod and try again.

Heh, and this log is actually a nice example of what atra said about the edits versus loads. Loads first, then edits, which is why the Content Patcher version of the buildings is going before the Rosier

I suspect that one mod makes Gunther invisible and adds new Gunther

But what keeps happening is that we have some mods like Ridgeside, PPJA, qol mods, etc. for our multiplayer farm and whenever we put something in the chest, we all see completely different items. hi friends, i have a question. so, i've observed that some mods work perfectly fine in multiplayer, and i noticed most of them were built for Content Patcher (or is it better phrased as with Content Patcher? whatever, unimportant details) anyway i guess i just wanted to confirm if that's true? are all content patcher mods multiplayer safe?
In theory it's possible to make a content patcher mod that isn't multiplayer safe, but in general they will be fine
There's a few niche conditions where it matters if you're checking the host or a player, but even then I doubt it would cause a crash, it just might not do what you want it to
Also splitscreen multiplayer is likely to not 100% work right for some mods just because it's hard to test, but again I don't think it would crash, probably just look funny

Hello, i had a question about why my SMAPI isnt loading up even tho i followed the installation steps. i put the mods on the right folder and everything but everytime i boot up the game i get the message "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" i'm also very new to the modding scene so maybe i did something wrong?
Define shuffle for you. The latest Json Assets update should have fixed it

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

You're in multiplayer, so it's highly probable that since you haven't swapped your JA mods, you are experiencing shuffle due to having a mismatch of Json Assets mods
So it's likely you'll need to wait until you can acquire logs from them to figure out the issue.
ok it's like 4am for me and my friends. I just have insomnia :S so I'll send the log next time they are online ๐ it was even shuffling our SDExpanded items and Ridgeside as well as PPJA and we tried them all individually as well :S
James we'll need to get someone more technical minded to help you - I would reinstall SMAPI and see if that helps but more than likely we'd need someone like atra who knows Event Viewer stuff

It's highly possible that one (or more) of your friends has a "graphical mod" with a json asset component.

sorry i'm back about the same thing. So, I'm planning on sharing a file of all my mods with the exact same settings to my friends to avoid the Json assets item shuffle problem. But are there some mods that only the host can have that I can use like TimeSpeed, which is pratically essential in multiplayer bc time never stops when you open the menu and other situations, etc.? So can I keep mods that only the host can have?
or I realised I could send the host only mods to them as it won't affect the game i think if they have those mods. Will this work?
