the key is to keep all or most of you colours at the same level of saturation

i love it so far (especially the feet n legs, you executed that well!) you might need to know the foundational and anatomical shapes that make up the body and sketch beforehand. if you’d like i can try and doodle it on a paper to better visualise it? oh by the way, a large tip is to use a gesture line. i can further elaborate if you’d like. overall it looks awesome! i apologise if i said way too much haha

They each suit the other one way more, because Haley is confident and outgoing while Penny is shy and this is not really reflected in their portraits.

Super Nintendo game covers are actually not pixelized, like this first image it's artwork or live action.

however, if you want to make something that resembles the sprites and background of NES games, I recommend messing around with pixel art. The terms "16 bit" and "8 bit" don't necessarily mean anything when it comes to pixel art, so don't be intimidated by that. if you want more detailed sprites, work with a larger canvas. if you want to start off very small and basic, like say classic pokemon sprites, go for a canvas size that's tiny like 24x24

it has been tough lately

and I've been beating myself up over it

but I'll try to be kinder to myself and take things more slowly and patiently

I say this because it's so easy to fall into the dark mindset once you start insulting yourself for not living up to the standard you give yourself, especially on young artists

I drew Haley and Emily but they look weird… improvements?

I like their faces and Emily's hair.
Haley's hair looks kinda like noodles lol. I would desaturate the lines. Oh and Emily's neck is too broad on the left side.

It looks lovely! I really like the messy-ish style to them! I also think Haley's hands look really nice and natural! You could darken up some of the shading, mostly on the clothes but a little bit on the skin as well. Just to give more of an idea of the form! There is also that little bit of the neck like quill said. Other than that I'd say I think they both look really pretty! I really like the flowiness of Haley's hair, keep up the good work!

Hi! So I'm drawing my feral forest go in child and I'm really trying to get them into nice, dynamic posing (for fighting, or parkouring, or just general flexing) but I suck at it so if you have tips or feedback for that kind of thing that would be 😩 👌
I'm already following général tips (direction lines, dramatic curves, body distortion) but it still feels lackluster and feedback is always cool and welcome

What I feel can always help is super ripply clothes

Something like capes, scarves, things that can really catch wind

Leaning into poses can help a bit too, as the body looks wonderful but the neck might be the part that makes it seem stiff

also @compact drift will vouch for an ipad heavily

i think getting a normal/not huge wacom tablet is reliable though and it will last you a long time if you are just starting out
