i think you can make all the layers visible that you want to merge, swipe down with three (?) fingers, press copy all, then paste, and then i THINK u can group all the layers u want to merge, tap the group name and then press flatten

You use different device and program than me, but basically how I do is I either select ALL layers and merge or If you have the option just put them all in a group layer and then turn the group layer into a normal paint layer

hello everyone! i have a question,, so okay when an npc in stardew holds something, how big is it in their little hands? is it to scale (their size - meaning is it as small as a battery we would hold in real life) or is it as big as the icon over the machine telling you it's ready. i.e. how big is a melon? is it as big as it looks while still in the ground, OR would it be the same size as a melon in real life to the scale of a stardew npc?

like are they this big or do they kinda become normal size when the npc picks them in their world

you aren't actually growing and selling individual strawberries as big as your head. You just can't render a bunch of regular-size strawberries in a pixel game comprised of 16x16 tiles. a bunch of berries would look like a pile of red mash if drawn to approximate scale.

i would suggest subtle definition where 2 different parts overlap, like a small line to portray that its two parts of the body, but otherwise it looks very good!!

i think my biggest tip would be to start with hard shapes, not soft ones 🙂 it is easier as a beginner to make those defined shapes first and soften them as you go along

i would leave airbrushes until much later in the process, blocking in defined volumes helps when you aren’t using lines

my tablet is charging but after it’s usable again i will try to show you what i mean 🙂

That is true! Like, Maru and Harvey work together but we see them interact so little? And Haley and Emily are sisters, so they must be spending more time together than we see. It'd be nice if there were more events that showed off the relationships the other characters have with each other. (Part of the reason I like rival heart event mods is because they show that the bachelors have lives and relationships with people other than the farmer.)

Well, anime characters never look Japanese and it looks like you're taking some inspiration from that, so tbh it's fine. But you can mess around with selecting and transforming certain parts of the face until it looks the way you want so you don't have to draw it over and over again.

very thin saw but it was easy to saw through the material (cellulose acetate). I broke the blade almost immediately cuz it's been too long since I used a saw apparently lol I forgot everything... Doh...

lots of filing and sanding with things like nail files. a little bit of scraping with a plastic "blade" on the temples ("arms")

the hinges are drilled through then sort of pins go through, are pushed into the acetate and then sort of soft rivetted/domed the ends of the pins with a sort of press thing.

im a big fan of aseprite so i would recommend it to anyone i see lol, its $20 on steam but if you wanna put some extra time and effort you can compile the source (its legal!)

i had a compiled version for years and recently bought it to support the dev
