try to analyze the pattern they use and how light work

if you are dedicate, in about a few weeks you can do color better

depending on what the theme of your piece is, the stronger the emotion the better

Lately I realized that whenever I draw I subconsciously try to create this colourful, brighter world that is seemingly happy with pastel colours etc. and that I've never drawn stuff that I personally relate to, like my dreams and my thoughts and such... I've always drawn from imagination of a fake world that I don't have any connection to.... and I was always trying to create an emotion that I didn't personally feel in the first place.

My friend and I think its really good for a first attempt! I could tell at first glance it was a bear which is always a good sign. The paws and ears could use a bit of work though, maybe look into some paw studies if you like drawing animals.

I really should stop pressing on my drawing pen so hard, my poor fingers

a helpful tip for drawing! try to use your elbow when drawing, instead of putting all the pressure on your wrist. drawing with your wrist will cause long term damage to the muscles and ligaments in that area, and afterwards it usually causes pain in your fingers and wrist. if youre doing it digitally, try adjusting the pen pressure curve so that when you press down really hard, the brush goes to full size.

some tips I would recommend is to have the closest parts of the city more detailed while the ones further back less detailed so that the city with the most detail will attract the persons attention first before the stuff in the background, also the mountain and the city in the bottom one is hard to distinguish at first glance, I would recommend making the mountains a darker colour compared to the main colour of the city, also another tip is to have the main parts of the drawing the like character have bright colours compared to the background to draw the attention of the person who is looking at the drawing

Sketches isn’t just a pixel art app, so you won’t have a grid, which sometimes messes some stuff up if you end up having to move around your drawing and shrink or enlarge it. However Pixelable is just pixel art, and in turn is easier to use

I think the main reason being I have no style

There is no specific thing I feel I’m “great” at

So I have bits and pieces of this style and bits pieces of another style and so on and so forth

I did this for a project once… the plant was a spur of the moment panic attack like an hour before I had to turn it in XD I regret it… I hate painting so much

also a lot of muscle men who are strong like alex wants to be have fat, they typically have a gut to protect their core muscles from ripping

this is a good picture of the kind of body i see alex with

hes got muscle and is very strong but retains a bit of fat because he lives with his grandmother who probably feeds him like any stereotypical souther grandma does, so he cant really tone his muscles as much as he would like
