I want to make a fangame cuz I found a Udemy course on coding a SDV clone in Unity that looks really promising, so I've thought about what I could make with it

#

The idea I'll probably go with is basically SDV but its set in feudal/Edo era Japan

#

I think that would be really cool and wouldn't be very different mechanically from the original. Like I'd just change the setting and make the equivalent of each thing in SDV, and I wouldn't need to change much of the core mechanics

#

Also I can totally imagine the SDV OST but its remixed as traditional Japanese music

when i draw, i usually use two brushes? the big lineart brush for about everything color-y, and then theres another brush that has lower opacity which is super useful for colorpicking for the blending,,, ||enjoy the ping fukboy ||

I myself don't draw but I have a friend who illustrates things for me and I direct it. We use Peppermint for sketching, Studio Pen for inking and the Round Brush for coloring (if you use Procreate you'll know what I'm talking about, they come built in)

so from your forehead to your temple [the side of your head]

from what ive seen
there is almost always space at either the top or the bottom

idk if i would say the lips are off
because theyre in the right place and all
but for lips
try not to make all the lines the same weight
the darkest lines go where the lips meet
and probably the most important bit is the corners of the mouth
you can use lil triangles and stuff for them
but the mouth is almost never a crescent like that
then you can just focus a bit more on the shape of the lips themselves afterwards

but its a good drawing over all youve accounted for most of the major stuff

I think one trick/tip you can try doing is maybe lowering the opacity of the image and trying to do a draw over to figure out the strokes and rhythm of the drawing? I done this numerous times with animal anatomy studies and trying to figure out contour lines to see the form of the shape.

I think the question you should be asking yourself instead of "should I draw?" is "what fulfills me?" is it being understood? Is it the satisfaction of making something? Does drawing or designing allow your brain to be free for a few hours or whatever?

I didn't get my connections through school. But I gotta say just brush up on your people skills and put a portfolio together. It's a daunting task but once you have it you can use it for many things.

Also, never bad mouth you work even if you think it sucks. If you're negative people aren't going to want to put in the effort to respond. Negativity is a huge buzzkill for anyone listening. Besides, people respond so much better to acknowledging mistakes as a learning experience rather than listening to an excuse for why your art isn't up to snuff...if that makes sense.

Defo. At least in professional terms people don't really want to hear a sob story because art is hard, and the struggle isn't unique to any one person.

Oh for sure. I usually keep the business aspect about art stuff behind closed curtains, but if people are wanting info about certain things, I'm happy to express my opinions unless its a relatable experience. I think that's the reason Glassdoor exists. XD I was talking about people who are stubborn to not wanting to learn foundations. I guess in a way they taught us in college to stay humble about things.

I need a server farm LMAO!! 3D is so expensive too. Like, just to learn it is an expense...Besides having a good computer the programs can be so friggin expensive. Last I checked Z Brush was like $700....duuuude I can't make that kind of investment to just fool around and maybe learn something in 3D.
