the thing you’d want to try first is breaking each part of the body into simple shapes and think three dimensional how that shape will look. I guess I mean that even simple repetitive loops to create volume on the arm actually helps visualize that..

but what i did here was i raised the hairline a bit to give him a forehead
then i lowered the ear since the top of the ear usually falls right under the eyes
then i adjusted the position of the nose and mouth since the nose was too big to be anatomically correct
that led to me having more space to fit the mouth in the right place since he originally didnt have much of a chin
after that i kinda just adjusted the head shape [which you dont have to do in yours if thats the look you want] to make it a bit more anatomical
