hi, I have a bit of a dilema, as CF dosent put decorations on tables, that means I cant put any deco item in there, I designed a gemstone shelf specifically to be on top of tables, what im doubting is to or change the deco type to painting, so the shelf is in hanging in the walls or to put the shelf item in a personal CP so it works in there, idk what to choose

Really wish the paper didn’t buckle as much, but I’m just using average sketchbook paper so there really wasn’t much I can’t do about that

anyways i have concluded that stardew valley is located roughly around this point (spoilered just in case)

I'm sorry fam, I guess everyone has their own creative mind, different ways of thinking how to make a character, it just happens, if I can give you some of my examples here you go: I created my first 2 angel characters related to a bad memory of my life warning here -> ||a car accident I suffered||, I created Jun because I always enjoyed the idea of a brave kid! a baby who likes and respects nature, (Nae woke up this idea to me with a snek she drew for him), the demon character idea came up after listening a lot of electro swing music and these are few ideas, even if you can't find the idea, the idea will find you eventually ^^

Looking at other techniques are the building blocks for style so long as you focus on that you'll find your favorite techniques and might even make your own

my one tip about art style is always that you shouldnt care about it
its not as important as you think it is
lots of new artists focus so much on keeping a set art style that they forget that they actually need to learn stuff about art.
so yeah, just dont worry much about it for it. as cheesy as it sounds itll come naturally once you learn the fundamentals and start simplifying certain aspects.

I think a lot of people think all negative connotations in a critique make it a bad critique. I wish a lot of artists can ignore the fluff from someone's critique and take good advice from it. I can def understand something like “this is bad” being ignored but if it's something like “this is bad because....” ignore the this is bad part and listen to what the person says afterward because it could be good advice.

While I can understand immensely appreciating realism and human anatomy being to human art what grammar is to literature, it goes without saying that there are a great number of exceptions
It's why there are editors for authors
Stylized art is a niche of its own, unique to the artist
Some people can copy art styles to the T and merge them together and weave their own style out of it
Whereas realism has strict rules and boundaries to the creative spectrum, stylization has so much to offer
That's not to say realism isn't beautiful in its own right
But I feel realism is far from unique

you can also disable right-clicking in some cases, but as @exotic snow mentioned people can just work around that by using screenshots

you can either sign with your pen or make your own watermark stamp/brush, or just type your name somewhere

just put your initials + something else, full name, username, or @ somewhere close to the subject/overlapping on a slightly lower opacity if you want

how can i find out what type of art fits me the best so i can improve on it?

ive tried multiple things (normal art, pixel art, line art, etc) but all look bad

so obv they have to be worked on

but how do i know on what style is the best i got to work on

Try out different styles imo
Find one that really fits you
Try drawing the same thing over and over but in a different style each time
It might do well for you to study other people's styles, tho I would recommend doing so with professional artists (anywhere from character designers to illustrators)

The "best" is not the one that merely looks the best to you, but is also the one that is admittedly easier to work with
That doesn't necessarily mean "faster", either
Speed drawing can always be worked on
I mean more what is most enjoyable for you

First of all, ask yourself why you want to make art. Art for me is about self expression and most importantly, you have fun while making art

So it depends what kind of art you enjoy most making

Art is like a weapon, you just gotta find one that suits you and your abilities
